Hello everyone!

I hope this story has interested you slightly? I don't expect you to be fully invested...yet.

I sat on the floor of my dorm room staring at the bowl in front of me. I felt my cursed energy rising inside of me. After visualizing grabbing the shadow of the bowl, I tried to get it to push the bowl over. The muscles in my right arm began to shake as I concentrated longer with a tensed arm.

There was a ripple on the edge of the shadow of the bowl. It began to move aggressively – bringing hope to my mind that I would be able to do this. The ripple went further into the shadow – making the bottom of the bowl begin to wobble back and forth. My breath caught in my throat as I watched it.

Just a little more. The voice inside of my head said to me. I felt my body temperature begin to rise and my heart started beating faster. The bowl began aggressively moving back and forth. I knew I was almost there. However, I lost all concentration when I heard a knock at my door that startled me. The bowl stopped moving and I dropped my head in my hands and groaned,

"God damn it!" Begrudgingly, I got up and opened the door to be met with Shoko. She smiled at me with her stick in her mouth and her hands clasped behind her back.

"Evening, Tsu." She greeted.

"Evening."

"Well, you don't seem very happy, what were you doing?" She asked.

"Nothing." Shoko went on the tips of her toes and looked over my shoulder. I moved my body, so I was blocking her view, but it was too late.

"You're practicing your Shadow Manipulation, right?" She asked. With a sigh I leaned against my door frame.

"Definitely practicing." She placed a hand on my right shoulder and smiled,

"You practice the most out of all of us. Don't worry, it will all pay off." I felt my heart skip a beat at those words because that was all I ever wanted, was for all this practicing to pay off. However, that annoying self-doubt crawled back into my brain to tell me that it didn't matter because right now I wasn't good enough.

"Yea, well that doesn't matter right now because I'm clearly the bottom of the class."

"Don't be so hard on yourself! There are four of us, there isn't a bottom of the class. Honestly, you're amazing at things that none of us are really that good at." Shoko said.

"Like what?" I queried.

"First, your overall curse skills are super cool! Come on, gravitational pull and your shadow manipulation are going to shoot you right to the top as one of the strongest curse holders once you get them mastered. Second, your skills with your Damascus are on a different level compared to the rest of us. We all know Satoru can't swing a sword like that to save his life." She joked. A small chuckle escaped my lips.

"He doesn't really need it since he is such a strong curse holder and he's very blessed to have the Six Eyes too."

"Yes, but even he appreciates your skills. I mean, when we last had training with weapons, you absolutely kicked everyone's ass and he was just sitting there in complete awe." Shoko reminded me of the time we had weapons training last week.

Shoko's POV

"Good job, Tsu!" Sensei yelled over at Tsu after she had Suguru on the ground with the tip of her Damascus pointed at his throat. His Adam apple bobbed in his throat as he took a gulp.

"Sorry about that, Suguru!" She apologized with a smile on her face as she placed her blade back in its sheath. Tsu cocked her head to the side as she reached her hand out to Suguru for him to grab. Her long black hair swayed in its ponytail behind her as she pulled him up from the ground. He stood in front of her with a bewildered look on his face.

"Wow, Tsu! You've really become one to watch for when it comes to weapon training." He complimented her.

"Amazing, Tsu! Look at you go!" Shoko cheered for her friend from the sidelines. Tsu looked over at her friend, smiled and waved. The brown-haired girl looked up to the white-haired boy next to her and said, "That was really impressive, don't you think, Satoru?"

"Tsu is very talented when it comes to her blade." He answered. Shoko noticed that he didn't smile, she was used to observing her classmates and she always picked up on the vibes that they gave. The brown-eyed girl could feel that he was watching her friend closely, but it wasn't out of fear or jealousy. However, she didn't know what it could be.

I scoffed at what Shoko told me, "There is no way that Satoru would ever look at me in awe. I'm just Tsu."

"Don't put yourself down like that! Come on, we're going to go to dinner. How about you come with us?" Shoko smiled at me.

"I don't know Shoko. I think I'd rather stay here and practice." I answered.

"Nope, I'm putting my foot down on this one." Shoko reached for my right wrist and pulled me out of my room once she had it. "We're going for some dinner, and I think you're going to enjoy it." She dragged my down the hallway as I rolled my eyes.

"Fine, but I can't promise anything." I agreed to go with her because I knew I didn't have another choice.

Shoko and I arrived at a sushi restaurant where Suguru and Satoru were waiting for us. We walked over to the booth where the two boys were sitting and sat in the booth. I ended up sitting next to Satoru, while Shoko sat across from me next to Suguru.

"Finally, we have been waiting for you two!" Satoru exclaimed.

"We were busy talking." Shoko explained.

"Well, that's clear because you two didn't make any effort for your date with the two hottest guys in the school." Satoru grinned as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders and leaned on me.

"Where are they? I don't see them." I pretended to look around the restaurant. Then, just like that, Satoru turned his head to look at me and peered at me from over his glasses.

"Now now, Tsu. I can see everything, remember?" He smirked at me. I placed my hand on his face and pushed it away from me as I said,

"Whatever, Satoru." He took his arm away from my shoulders and I could feel him smiling while sitting next to me.

"You're getting really strong in class, Tsu." Suguru complimented me.

"Oh. Thanks, I've been practicing a lot in my spare time, but there is still room for improvement." I responded.

"Well, it's all paying off." Suguru smiled at me.

"Shall we get drinks with our food?" Satoru asked the table while his face was buried in the menu.

"We're students in our school uniforms, how are we going to get alcohol?" I asked out loud.

"When there's a will, there's a way." Shoko answered.

"Listen, I don't know if it's very good for me. I've been doing a lot of training and-" I was rudely interrupted by the white haired man sitting next to me.

"Shh, you need to have a break. You're always training. Excuse me! Waiter!"

"What are you doing?" I began to panic as I grabbed his raised hand and brought it back down."

"Yoohoo!" He brought up his other hand and began waving it above his head.

"Satoru!"

"Chill out, Tsu! This is going to be a great night." He said. "Oh wait-" I cut off the blue eyed man's yelling by putting my free hand over his mouth. It silenced him, but then I could hear my heartbeat in my ears after I realized how close we were together. My left hand was firmly holding on to his right hand on the leather booth seat underneath us. Meanwhile, my right hand was firmly held against his mouth to keep him from talking. Since there was a height difference between us, I had to bring myself closer to him to stop him from talking, so when Satoru looked down at me and over the rims of his glasses, I could practically feel the smirk forming on his lips.

"Can I help you?" The sudden question from the waiter startled me, so I let go of the man in front of me and quickly turned round to see the waiter.

"Yes, you can!" Satoru said with such a blasé tone, as if he wasn't affected by our closeness just seconds before. "We would like some drinks for the table. A beer each, if that's okay?" I zoned out on the rest of the conversation and how he managed to convince the waiter to get us beers, but when it landed in front of me, I immediately picked up the bottle, put it to my lips, and drank.

"Woah, for someone who didn't want any alcohol, you're really going for it!" Suguru was surprised by my reaction.

"Impressive, Tsu! Look at you go!" I chugged the contents of the bottle before putting it down on the table, turning my head to look at Satoru, licked my lips and said, "Another one, please."

Are we getting a drunk Tsu? I wonder what that would bring! Leave your thoughts in the reviews!
