Stede woke up to an empty cabin. He sat up and looked around but there was no sign of Ed or Tilly anywhere. The spot on the sofa next to him was cold, so clearly Ed hadn't been there recently. Stede scrambled off the couch, his blanket falling to the ground as he got up. He glanced over at the empty bed before he pulled on a robe and strode out of the cabin, trying to ignore the sense of growing panic at his missing boyfriend and his sister.

Stede was relieved to find the rest of his crew, still mostly asleep, on the deck. However, that relief was short lived when he remembered he still had no idea where Ed or Tilly were. Logically, he knew they couldn't have gone far, they were on a ship after all, but that wasn't stopping him from panicking.

"Has anyone seen Ed and Tilly?" Stede asked.

Lucius yawned and sat up, "They're not here," he said,

"Hmm."

Lucius sighed dramatically and untangled himself from Pete's arms. "Come on," He said, getting to his feet, "We'll help you look."

Lucius, Pete, Fang, Roach, Frenchie and Wee John all followed Stede into the depths of the ship, looking into each room as they passed them.

"Found them," Pete called from the entrance to the jam room. They all hurried over and peered around Pete to see Ed and Tilly slumped over the piano, fast asleep.

"Aww," Lucius cooed, causing Ed to stir, which in turn caused Tilly to stir.

Ed groaned as he was pulled back to consciousness, he blinked a couple of times before his eyes focused on the crowd in front of him. He frowned and sat bolt upright, knocking into Tilly as he did, which fully woke her up too.

"Oh," She said, taking in the gathered crew, "Hi?"

"Good sleep?" Roach asked with a grin.

"Oh no!" Stede cried suddenly and hurried over to helped Tilly up, "Sleeping at the piano really can't have been good for your back," he said.

Ed pouted, "What about my back?"

"You're not pregnant, Dear." Stede slapped his hands over his mouth, instantly realising what he'd just said. Everyone froze and for a moment the only thing anyone could hear was the sound of the waves splashing against the side of the ship.

"You're pregnant?" Lucius asked eventually.

Tilly nodded, "Yeah, sorry, I didn't tell you guys," She replied after a second,

"Is there anything we can do?" Frenchie asked,

"Are you having cravings?" Roach asked, "I can make you anything you want,"

"I'll make the baby a blanket!" Wee John cried,

"Thank you," Tilly said, "That's very sweet of you all."

"All right, that's enough," Izzy said as he joined the back of the group, "Back to work with the lot of you,"

"But we need to help Tilly!" Pete cried,

"I'm sure what Tilly needs right now is for you to all let her get up and go about her business, without you lot smothering her."

The crew all grumbled but did as Izzy said and filed out of the room.

Tilly smiled gratefully at Izzy, "Thank you."

Izzy nodded at her, "If you need anything you know where to find me," he said before turning and following the crew out of the room, leaving just Ed and Tilly alone.

Ed stood up and offered his hand to Tilly, "Breakfast?"

Tilly looked down at her nightgown, "Actually, I think I would like to get dressed first."

Ed glanced down at his own clothes, "I could do with some clean clothes too."

Ed and Tilly made their way back to the captain's cabin. Once they were there Ed walked over and pulled the lever to open the auxiliary wardrobe. He stepped inside only to remerge moments later clutching a purple shirt, "I'll give you some privacy to change," he said,

"It's alright, I'll get changed in the cupboard."

Ed glanced back at the auxiliary wardrobe, "You sure?"

"Of course, it's massive in there." Tilly walked past Ed, and into the cupboard then shut the door behind her.

The moment the door was shut, Ed pulled off his t-shirt and replaced it with the clean one he was holding. He dropped the old one on the floor then turned to look into the mirror hanging on the wall. He frowned at the state of his hair, which was sticking up at all odd angles, his ponytail from the previous day was barely still intact. He let his hair down and shook it out, but several of the stands were still sticking up. He ran his fingers through his hair a few times, in a effort to smooth it down,

"Err, Edward?" Came Tilly's voice, "How do you open the door from this side?"

Ed froze for a moment, "Erm, I don't know…Hang on, I'll let you out." Ed walked back over to the bookshelf and pulled the mannequin. The door to the auxiliary wardrobe opened and Tilly stepped out, now fully dressed. She frowned and pulled slightly at her trousers,

"It's not going to be long before these don't fit me anymore," she said,

"What do you mean?" Ed asked,

"I mean…they aren't going to fit me anymore," Tilly said with a puzzled look. She put her hand on her stomach, "Soon the baby is going to make me too big,"

"Ah," Ed nodded, "What do pregnant women usually do when their clothes stop fitting?"

Tilly walked over to the bed and sat down, "They get clothes made for pregnant women. Mum has a whole range of dresses designed to fit pregnant ladies in her shop. I don't think I'm particularly likely to find any trousers though, especially not at sea."

Ed made his way over to join Tilly on the bed, "How is Mum?" he asked,

"She writes to you, surely she tells you all about her life in her letters,"

"She does but it's not like she'd say if anything was wrong."

Tilly nodded, "She's fine," She said, "Great even. She loves her shop; she loves making clothes for people, although I think she's a bit disappointed that I don't share her love for tailoring,"

"Tell me about the shop,"

"She makes clothes for anyone who wants them; she charges the rich an absolute fortune for a custom-made outfit, and she lets the poor pay what they can."

Ed smiled, "It sounds lovely,"

"It is. You should visit it some time."

Ed's smile fell, "I don't know about that, I'm not sure Mum would appreciate it; I'd just…be in the way," he finished helplessly,

"Mum would love it if you visited her shop, your money paid for it after all."

Ed frowned, "What do you mean?"

"The money you send Mum every month, she used it to open the shop."

Ed looked down at his lap, "I didn't think you knew about that. I assumed Mum kept it a secret,"

"I mean she doesn't shout about it; she knows how you get it after all, but that doesn't mean she's not proud of you for taking care of her."

Ed scoffed, "You can't know that,"

"I can," Tilly cried, "She talks about you all the time," She said, "She's always peppering in stories about when you were a kid."

"Oh," Ed said weakly, he's always assumed his mum had done her best to forget about him after he'd run away, and even though it was clear she hadn't succeeded in that, Ed would have thought she'd do her best to never bring him up. That she'd hide away his existence, keep him as just her little secret.

Tilly got to her feet, breaking Ed out of his spiral, "We're late for our fighting lesson," she said,

Ed's eyes focused back on Tilly, "Yes," he smiled, "Let's go."
