I don't really have much to say for this one it is quite self-explanatory and easy to understand as you read it.
Evening was fast approaching a large desert town as a train was nearing it. A woman with white hair was sitting at bench in the train station, she was a special operative of the country Weiss Schnee tasked with working on an unusual case of murder that where suspected to be done by an immortal man, an idea frankly she found ridiculous, but that was exactly the purpose of the department she worked in solving the ridiculous, impossible, mystical or not humanly possible, so here she found herself waiting on a train to arrive. The train came to stop the breaks and wheals screeching till it finally stopped, the doors of the train opened, and people dressed in various cloths of differing colors and style poured out, out of all of the people stepping out only one was important to the woman, she was searching for a black-haired woman with unusually colored yellow almost golden eyes that wore mostly black and purple, she tried to recall all the details of the picture of her that was sent to her with the mail. Finally, she spotted that exact woman she was waiting for, while the black-haired woman was looking around Weiss walked up to her.
"Are you Blake, the one sent by the upper ups to help with this case?" Her tone was a sharp, somewhat hostile and the way her eyes narrowed showed that she was untrusting of this woman.
"Yes, you must be Weiss nice to finally meet you." She held out her hand for a handshake. Weiss looked at her hand for a second and turned away from her.
"Fallow me, I have already prepared our place of stay." Blake looked firstly confused at the action of the other woman and then angry. She would have called out Weiss for her rude actions, but the words of the old man that got her on this case resounded in her head and she held herself back. After Weiss took a few steps forwards and didn't hear a second pairs of steps behind her she looked back and spoke.
"Could you hurry up or do you want for the killer to keep being free while you keep gawking here?" Blake started to walk, and Weiss did too just now with a satisfied smile on her face. They left the station found a carriage running a taxi service and paid to be driven to the hotel that had room booked for them by their department.
Weiss unlocked the door and entered a room with two single beds a single nightstand shared by the two and two dressers, a half wall separated another room that was a kitchen. Both of them walked in Blake was quicker and chose the closer to the window. Weiss while wanted to make a comment about the other girl being paranoid for choosing to be closest to only escape route they could use if someone ambushed them in this room she didn't. As the two placed down their luggage by their beds, Weiss was first to speak up as she sat down on her bed on that side so she would be facing the other woman.
"How much did they brief you on this case?"
"As much as they saw needed." The white-haired woman's lips pressed tightly in straight line.
"Look I need to know so I can make sure we are on the same page and that you know how dangerous this person we are hunting." The raven-haired girl frowned as memories flooded of a being made up darkness and red energy with horns that was several times larger than a human massacred an army of humans.
"I can say that I definitely know more of the danger this person possesses than you. But if you insist, the person we are searching an attempting to capture is a male of around 6'5-6'2 height, he has hair that is a mixs of red, black and brown. He is suspected of killing four shareholders of the oil company 'Remnant' and dozen workers, even more gourds and law enforcement. He is highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat most of the gourds, sheriffs and police that tried to stop him had been killed by his hands and only the shareholders died to the gun he carries with him-."
"It appears you do know the basic, but do you know why a special unit like us has been deployed to neutralize this treath?"
"I was going to explain if you had not cut me off. The strange thing about this is that during the many murder attempts on the shareholders this person had been several times reported as dead. In one of the reports, it even was said that his head had been cut off and the body burnt until only ashes remained, but a day later he was again spotted alive and well killing of a gang of criminals that got into an argument with him. This is not even the weirdest thing as all of the shareholders that where hit by his bullet, none of their bodies were recovered as there was nothing left to recover they just.." The woman stopped as she searched for a word to describe what had happened to those men.
"Fell to dust." Weiss finished for her. Blake tilted her head to a side thinking and then nodded confirming that yes she would describe it as that. "Indeed, it seem we are on the same page." Weiss rummaged through her luggage, because of that she did not notice Blakes face and her expression shift for just a moment.
The white-haired woman out her luggage took out a drawing and held it towards the other, who took it and looked at it.
"This is what is presumed that he looks like, the drawing was made by listening to surviving witness reports."
Blake only pretended to look at the picture as she already knew how the man looked, after a few seconds she nodded to indicate she memorized how he look and gave the drawing back.
"So, what are we going to do now? Why are we meeting at this location exactly?" Blake asked of the other.
"In around a days time another train will stop at this town for a two day stay time to prepare for the rest of the journey, taking it will be the new major share owner of the previously mentioned 'Remnant' oil company Leanard Lionheart. Two operatives of our unit are already with him and guarding him in case of an attack by the perpetrator. HQ believes that there is enough evidence to believe he is the next victim, as the criminal had been sighted slowly making his way towards anywhere Mister Lionheart is staying, so we have devised to anticipate where he is going to appear to attempt an ambush. After we do a preliminary investigation to what activities and where he has been sighted in the local area we will attempt to find and fallow him-"
"I hope you are not thinking of capturing him with just the two of us."
"Y-yes, I am. Is there a problem with that?"
"I mean no offence to you Miss Schnee, but that is a stupid plan."
"But I-I thought that we coul-"
"Considering how dangerous this man is and while I do not doubt neither yours nor mine skill we are both the best of the best when it come to the field of ours, taking him on in territory he is more familiar with is not a smart plan."
Weiss disliked this she was suppose the one leading and making plans and other should have been just fallowing them, but now the control of this conversation and whole mission seemed to be taken by this other woman and what she hated the most was that Blake had a point.
"Then what do you suppose we do?"
"I say we join hands with the ones guarding Mr. Lionheart on the train and set up and ambush there."
"But this would put Mr. Lionheart in harms way."
"If I'm not mistaken the whole train has been rented out by the oil company, so it would be quite ease to notice if someone suspicious would try to board it because of that the train is a more easily controlled environment to set up an ambush and we could stop him long before he could reach Lionheart."
"What you are saying does appear logical to do." Weiss rested her head leaning on her arm while she considered the options. Blake quickly added as she though she had offended the other woman.
"I think it still would be a good and useful to question the locals for any information on the man." Blake politely smiled at Weiss.
"Yes, then I will do that." Weiss returned the smile. "Will you join me, or would you like to take a short rest before joining me?"
Blake thought about she did fear from the conversation they just had that if Weiss accidentally encountered, she would try to arrest him alone, but she threw that fear away as it was unlikely that Adam, the man they were hunting would have made it to this town already.
"I will take a rest and join you at a later time to help gather information."
"Okay. Will a rest till dinner time be enough for you?"
"Yes."
"Then let's meet at dinner time in the Crow saloon. It should be quite easy for you to find as it is the only establishment of that kind in this town."
"You don't need to worry about me not finding it after all tracking is my specialty."
"Then I will take my leave now." Weiss nodded to Blake as she left, and Blake nodded back.
As Blake laid down for a short nap, she did her best to ignore the worry she felt.
In the desert outside of the town just out of the horizon a man a was heading towards a town, the man wore a black cowboy hat, some red hair peaked out for under it. His outfit consisted of a brown leather long coat, a red shirt underneath it, brown pants, and brown cowboy leather boots. Cold blue eyes stared out of the shadow cast on them by the cowboy hat. A black six shooter with red accents on it was in the holster hanging on his hip. His face seemed to always display anger. The man continued to walk towards the town not in a rush, it did not appear that he had any travel supplies aside from his gun and what appeared to be an ammo pouch, which was weird as the closest town was at least four days travel by horse distance away.
The man finally reached the town and the first destination he chose to go to in town was the saloon, as he reached it, he raised his eyes reading what it was called Crow's saloon, he did not linger on that for long as he entered pushing aside the double swing doors. The murmur and bustle inside the saloon died down for a second as the people inside took a second to look at the new arrival most quickly returned to what they were doing before eating, drinking, or playing poker, some took longer and attempted to hide but with their eyes followed the new arrival up until he reached the bar. The man even felt that one of the people in attendance even left just because of him, he did note that down, but did not fallow up on it in any way it was probably just someone that recognized him for his wanted poster and went of to report to the sheriff. He could deal with that later, but firstly a drink. He sat down at the bar raising a hand to indicate to the bartender he would like to order a drink who behind the bar walked up to him.
"Haven't seen a face like yours in these parts you must by new in town, what will you be having?"
"An old fashion." The bartender made the drink for the man.
"That be a dollar and twenty-two cents."
On the bar table the red-hair placed a two-dollar bill. That the bartender took, it appeared to be a slow night as no one else called for the bartender so he stayed near the man wiping a mug.
"You seem like a man that hears many rumors." The man asked in between sips of his drinks.
"Most people do get talkative after a few drinks, so I do hear about thing from time to time." The man took out a ten-dollar bill and slid it one the table towards the bartender.
"How about a train carrying something important."
"The sheriff does visit the saloon often, but he is quite tight lipped."
A fifty-dollar bill was now placed next to the other. The bartender took both the bills.
"You did not hear this from me, but tomorrow three and a half hours after noon a train will stop here with an important person on it. I do not care what you do with this information, just make sure you don't bring nothing towards me, okay buddy."
The man drank what was left of the drink in one go.
"Sure."
The bartender smiled.
"Pleasure doing business."
The man stood up from the bar stool and started to walk out of the bar. From one of the tables a group of five rough looking men stood up and caught up to him one of them, the largest one who was probably the leader grabbed the mans shoulder stopping him.
"Where do you think you rushing of too friend."
The man turned to look at the four men.
"A little birdy has whispered to me that there is a bounty on your head-" The other three men had taken out gun and where pointing them at him. "-and I'm thinking of expanding my pockets." The man clenched his fist preparing to strike. Most people in the bar though what an unlucky fellow and I hope no blood lands on me.
From the bar the bartender called out.
"Hey Winchester, don't make a mess inside my bar, take this outside."
The man he called Winchester frowned and pulled out a gun pointed it at the red hair.
"You hear the man, lets go outside."
The man at gunpoint did not seem concerned at all as he turned his back to the four men pointing guns at him and started to walk. As they reached the street Winchester called out.
"Stop. Dove go tie up this fool."
The red hair turned towards to face the men.
"Hey. Who allowed you to turn around!" One of the four men the one with a mohawk shouted out.
"I will allow you to chose how do you wish to die? Quick and painful or slow and painless." The man at gunpoint said.
The four men looked at each other and started to laugh.
"I don't think you get what situation you find yourself in amigo. We are the ones that got guns, heck I could and would kill you right now, if not for the bounty being higher for delivering you alive, you'd be already dead, you got that!"
"You really think those toys of yours could hurt me."
"Are fucking insane or is something wrong with your brain buddy? These are motherfucking guns not dam toys."
"No, but it appears something is definitely wrong with yours if you think you can capture me."
The one that was called Winchester, his face went red from anger.
"That fucking it I had to listen to your idiotic rambling for log enough, let's kill him boys."
"But boss the bount-"
"Fuck the bounty I want this asshole dead now."
"That won't happen only ones dying toda-" His words where cut of as four bullets lodged themselves in his body, two in the chest, one hit his forearm and the last one right in the throat.
"That will shut you up bitch." Winchester said.
"It won't." The man who they just saw being shot answered, only now they noticed that no blood was coming out of the wounds and rather than the wounds showing exposed flesh beneath the mans skin only darkness mixed with dark red energy swiveled as they closed.
"What in God-?" Winchester did not get to finish his sentence as the man had with speed that the eye could not track closed in on him, grabbed him by the neck and lifted him up depriving the man of air. The others turned around and ran.
"In your last moment I allow you to pray to God, but I am already here so that wont help mu-"
A bullet fired not by the four men before him hit the arm he was using to hold up the leader of the group. To his surprise he felt pain from this bullet as he let go of the man who fell to the floor gasping for air and stumbled a bit back clutching his arm that now had a hole not unsimilar from the ones made by the guns of the four men the only difference was that he could feel cold energy emanated from it. He recognized that this could not kill him, but that who ever fired this was a threat. He quickly started to scan the surroundings and saw down the street a woman with white hair and blue eye pointing a six shooter at him.
"Step and stay away from them." The woman said in an authoritative tone.
The man smiled.
"With pleasure."
As he ran in a speed not humanly possible towards the woman, she had tried to fire at him again, but he simply dodged the bullet fired at him with his incredible speed. When he got close enough, he with one hand grabbed the hand of hers that was holding the gun ripping the gun out of her grip and with other by her neck lifting her just like the man previously.
She kicked the man and clawed with her nails at the mans arm. She saw as he dropped her gun and took out his own, the world was starting to go darker as she was beginning to lose consciousness from lack of air, she did not know why but he spun the cylinder of his gun and pointed it at her. The last memories she had was of cold eyes of the same color as her own staring at her.
The man cocked the hammer of his gun and pressed the trigger. The hammer hit the chamber, but no gunshot was heard. The man let go of the unconscious womans neck. She collapsed onto the ground.
"It appears you are lucky, it is not your time yet." He walked away from the woman and went towards the Winchester who was only now recovering from being choked out.
Weiss started to come into consciousness. The first thoughts she had was that 'she was dead, just grand, that was a stupid way to die, awesome and that she thought in heaven she wouldn't still be feeling the pain at her neck, so great she want to hell'. That where her thoughts as she frowned while still not opening her eyes.
"You up?" A voice that she even in the short time she knew her for recognized as Blakes. 'Oh, she must have died too probably because she tried to avenge her death, how sad.' "Enough sleeping, or I will have to wake up you with the only way I know." The white-haired woman had her face go red as she though about the tale her older sister told of the sleeping beauty.
"Ow" She called out as Blake pinched her side. She shot up to a sitting position. "What was that for?"
"Good your up." Blake said as she put her hands together and smiled. "Now what have we learned?"
"Wha, I'm ali-" Blake placed a finger to stop Weiss from speaking.
"What have we learned?" She repeated herself just now a bit harsher.
They both stared at each other as Weiss though of an answer. Blake grabbed her hair as she stood up pacing around the room as she spoke.
"Oh come on it is not a question that hard to answer, what we learned is that we, you especially, wont rush in alone and try to get yourself killed without any back up." She looked back at Weiss, who could only shrink back. "I do not know what glory or honor you want to get by attempting to catch him, but I will not have your ego ruining this because of that, he is a danger we have to stop, or people will get hurt."
Weiss faced Blake.
"It was not for my ego that I attacked him alone, he was going to kill four people, I had to stop him."
"Well, they are dead ether way so you might have as well not tried and put this whole mission in danger before it even really started." Blake saw as Weiss flinched at the mention that the four men were murdered, and she was certain those where tiers forming in the other womans eyes before she turned to face away from Blake.
"Shit." She muttered to quietly for Weiss to hear. She sat down to by on the same level as Weiss.
"Look Weiss, I'm sorry what I just said was too harsh and I apologize. You just wanted to save people and that is a good thi-"
Weiss cut her off before she could finish.
"No, you don't need to apologize, you are right I rushed things and put all of us in danger for my own ego. I promise that won't happen again." Weiss had brought up and arm to rub her eyes. "Some dust got in my eyes." Blake nodded even if Weiss was not looking at her.
"The thing to do now is to rendezvous with the others and not to take any more actions that put us in danger. I will stay here and recover, and you can do whatever you want Blake."
"I could bring some food or water if you ne-"
"No, that will be unnecessary. If you could I would like to be alone for a while." Weiss laid down and turned so she would have her back to where Blake was siting.
"O-of course." Blake stood up. "I'll be just a shout distance away from you, so don't feel burdened and just call me If you need anything."
She said those words while backing out of the room. She hoped it wasn't just her imagination when she saw Weiss nod her head as she closed the door. She leaned on the door with her back and slid down to sit on the ground again she held her hand in her head.
"Just like you said Sir Ozpin everything going just grand." She mumbled ironically to no one in particular to hear.
Authors note: Forgive me r/Cardinposting for making Cardin and his team as expendable side characters that died off screen, they deserve better, but I needed someone for that and they where the first people I though of while writing. I imagine I lost many people respect just now that don't know that Cardinposting is just a joke and now think I liking Cardin. I do, I just need to pretend I don't so people don't judge me, to understand why I like him just read the fic Cardinal Sins by Bardothren and you will understand and if you don't like it you can return to this story and call me stinky poo poo man or something I don't really care. This whole part was just done to confuse you reader.
This is an old idea that I had like one and a half a years ago that was just sitting as a file with three hundred words written on it and I wrote the rest in a day before uploading it, just so I would have to show that not all of this fic will be majorly from the perspective of Adam, it just that everything that will be uploaded to this collection/fanfiction every story will have Adam as one of the most important characters or prominent pieces of the story as a whole and an entertaining or interesting change will be done to him.
Well now to tell you something more specific to this story:
Yes, if I had made this into a full fic the main relationship of the fic would have been Monochrome. No there would not be a Yang x Ruby romance in the story, they are still sister in the story and anyone that wants that is disgusting. Rather it would feature some Raging bull, but that would be a more off an open relationship that you could interpreted as just being good friends/rivals or something more, all up for the reader to interpretate. You can hate it and call me trash or any other insult for including a relationship like that, but it would fit the story that I see for this world that I imagine. For last thing, Adam was not joking when he said he is a god, an evil fallen god, but a god none the less, Yang is a dragon, Blake a panther, Ruby descends from immortal Celtic warriors and Weiss is an ice witch. Show that I draw inspiration from American gods. This last part probably did not make sense to most, but that is the fun of it.
Wow that is a lot for notes, but well that all folks, hope you liked this and I would love to see you next time.
