Love is an Unknown Language

Hello everyone, and welcome back to The Owl House: The Bro Files. This is the chapter where we will meet the Bat Queen, along with the Blight twins, Edric and Emira. How will the Blight twins impact the lives of the Noceda's? Let's read and find out.

P.S.: I'm excited to be doing this chaper, as you will see soon enough. Now, let's get on with the story.

We start off at the Owl House as usual, as we have Luz reading from her book, The Good Witch, Azura, to King.

"'Azura,' Hecate began, 'Our paths have crossed only in battle. But today I stand before you seeking an ally.'" Luz had read, as she then swooned over what she read.

"Luz, you're getting all swoony again." King pointed out.

"You know how she gets when she reads her books." Carlos said, walking into the livingroom. He sat on an armchair.

"I can't help it. Azura is able to befriend everyone. Even her biggest rival." Luz said, holding the book to her chest and added. "I wish I had that kind of power."

"Rivals are meant to be annihilated, not befriended. Now keep reading." King demanded, wanting to hear more of the story. "I've been sucked into your awful fandom."

"Great, another Azura lover." Carlos deadpanned under his breath. It isn't that he really hated Azura, it was just annoying hearing Luz read the books to King lately.

"Okay. 'Suddenly, the door swung open.'" Luz started reading, just as Hooty swung the front door open.

"Ding, dong, ding. Hoot, hoot." Hooty said once the door opened.

"The book has come to life! Burn it!" King exclaimed.

"Relax, King. It's just Hooty." Carlos said, getting up to see what's going on. He got to the front door and looked around. He then looked down and saw a basket with a note attached. He then picked it up and took it to the kitchen, where Eda was. Luz and King had followed to see what was going on.

"Eda, you have a package." Carlos said, placing the basket on the dining room table.

"Looks like a gift basket." Luz said. King was tying a bib around his neck, preparing to eat if the basket had food.

"Probably an offering." Eda said. "Ah, being the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles has its perks."

King couldn't wait anymore, as he pulled the blanket down, revealing a baby creature with dark, spikey hair sleeping in the basket.

"Mmm, fresh meat." King said, rubbing his paws together.

"No, not eating that." Luz said, disgusted.

"Same here." Carlos agreed, as they both walked away.

"Witches eating babies is so 1693. What is this?" Eda asked.

"There's a note." King said, revealing and reading the note. "'Take care of my child 'til morning Yi Yi.'"

"Nope. Babies are awful. Not happening." Eda said, not wanting to babysit.

"'You will be handsomely rewarded. XOXOXOX the Bat Queen.'" King read the rest of the note.

"Bat Queen? Reward?" Eda asked, remembering that name while King pulled out some gleaming Snail coins from the basket. This made Eda change her mind rather fast.

"Who's the Bat Queen?" Luz asked, as she and Carlos walked back to them.

"She's the wealthiest demon on the Boiling Isles. Get in with her and you're set for life." Eda said, grabbing one of the Snails from King and admired it. "So, we keep this thing alive for a few hours and we get paid. Easy." She scoffed.

"That's usually how babysiting works." Carlos said.

"This will be our greatest adventure yet." Luz happily said. "Learning about love and life through a child's eyes."

"Not you. You and Carlos have to return the books I checked out from the library." Eda said, as she magically made a stack of library books fall into Luz's hands. She then whispered to King. "I don't want them getting any cut of the loot."

"Good thinking." King said, apraising her idea.

"Now, let's take a look at this little darling." Eda said, taking the rest of the blanket. We see that the baby is a head with batwings and legs with clawed feet. He noticed the blanket was taken off him, as he then started crying at a high-pitched squeal, making those whose hands were free cover their ears.

"Oh, boy." King said, falling over.

"On second thought, maybe we could use your help!" Eda yelled over the loud crying to Luz and Carlos.

"Well, we better get going to the library." Luz started, as Carlos opened the door.

"Gotta go, bye." Carlos finished, as they left Eda and King with the baby.

"We got this, right?" Eda asked King over the continuing screeching. The baby then attatched to Eda's face, making her fall back in surprise.

We're now with Luz and Carlos, as they were heading though Bonesborough to get to the library. They noticed Tinella walking by with a book that was almost double her size. This distraction made Luz almost drop the books she was carrying.

"Careful with the books." Carlos said, noticing she almost dropped them. They were then in front of the library, which was pretty big.

"Wow." Luz said in amazement of seeing the library. They went in with the books, as when they did, the books went magically flying out of Luz's hands and went to one of the librarians.

"Late. Late. Coffee, grass and bloodstains? These are Eda's aren't they?" The librarian asked.

"Heh. That was a crazy night." Carlos said to him.

"Ugh, I'll put them on her tab." The librarian said, as he magically pulled out a list and wrote it down. He then added. "By the way, we're closing early for the Wailing Star meteor shower."

"Ooh, what's that?" Luz curiously asked.

"You're in a library. Read a book." The librarian said, pointing out the obvious.

"Right, we will. Thank you." Carlos said, as he pulled Luz further into the library.

We're now in another part of the library with Carlos and Luz, were we see filing cabnets with faces on them like the lockers at Hexside. There was a sign next to them that read, 'Demon Decimal System. Do not feed.' Luz didn't follow the rules of the sign, as she gave one a piece of candy, as it then spit out files at her.

We're now in another section of the library, where we see Luz and Carlos on the second floor, where we see a bunch of books floating in a line and being led to another part of the library. Luz decided to grab one of the books, as she held on and has a fun time with it, as a few people shushed her for being too loud, which she apologized.

"This place is amazing." Luz happily said, as she and Carlos saw others looking at things on crystal balls, like they were computers.

"Yeah, it is pretty interresting." Carlos admitted.

"'What do you think you're doing?'" Said the voice of a girl.

"Ah. we've been caught. Pretend to be a book." Luz panicked, as as made herself pretend to be a book.

"Luz, stop that. We did nothing wrong." Carlos told her. That's when they heard kids laughing, as they went to go investigating. That's when they found a children's section, as we see witch and demon kids sitting around Amity, as she was reading them a book.

"'We're your friends and we wanna help,' said the tin boy with a yelp. Otabin smiled and paced the floor. 'I've never had real friends before.'" Amith read from a book called Otabin, the bookmaker.

"Amity reading to kids?" Luz asked, as she never seen Amity so nice like this before.

"Yeah, I never expected this from her. Especially with how mean she's been to us and Willow." Carlos added. That's when they snuck in closer without Amity seeing them.

"'Then we'll be your first,' the chicken witch clucked. Otabin couldn't believe his luck. So, bookmaker Otabin, surrounded by friends, bound a book of friendship, and that's the end." Amity finished the book, as she then closed it. The kids cheered for her reading the book, as Luz and Carlos looked at the scene dumbfounded by what they saw.

"Amity seems so nice and smiley." Luz optimistically said. "Maybe I can befriend her like Azura befriended her rival."

"Yeah, I don't think that'll happen." Carlos admitted. That's when they ducked down, as the kids ran past them and Amity was following them.

"Goodbye, Miss Amity. Thank you." A kid with red skin and a face with nothing but a mouth and teeth hugged and thanked Amity in a deep voice.

"Thank you, Braxus. See you next time." Amity said to the kid named Braxus, as he happily ran off. She then did a double take, as she noticed Carlos and Luz hiding from her behind the bookshelf.

"Ugh, you two." She said, with distaste in her voice.

"Amity... Whoop. Reading to kids. Wow. Looks like this sour lemon drop has a hidden sweet center." Luz said.

"It's for extra credit. Don't get your leggings in a bunch." Amity sourly said, picking up a book Luz had dropped and went to put it away.

"As peachy as ever." Carlos said under his breath.

"Hey, I can help with the kids. We could take turns reading. And do voices. I do the best monster voice." Luz opimistically asked, as she acted like a robot when she said monster voice. This was starting to make Amity frustrated.

"Human, do you see me going to the Owl Shack and bugging you while you fry up owls? Ugh. Okay, I don't really know what you two do there, but everytime you two come near me, I get in trouble. Just leave me alone." Amity angrily said to Luz.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Luz apoligized, saddened about that. That's when Carlos walked up.

"Look, I know you feel like we're ruining your life, but my sister just wants to make some friends here. There's no need to be mean towards her." Carlos told Amity. "Let's go, Luz. Apparently there's no befriending someone like her." They then started to leave.

"Ugh, so much for befriending rivals." Luz sadly said.

"Look, there's just some rivals out there that can't be befriended. There's no need to get down about it." Carlos told her, trying to cheer her up.

"You gonna let her get to you like that?" A male voice called over to them, as they looked over to not only see a male Carlos' age standing there, but a female too.

The male was around the same height as Carlos, as he has pale skin, pointed ears, golden eyes, thick black eyebrows, short, emerald-green hair, and a mole under his right eye.

The female looked almost simular to the male, as she has pale skin, pointed ears, golden eyes, thick black eyebrows, a mole under her left eye, and long, emerald-green hair tied in a braided ponytail. Her face shape is also rounded off to a point. They are the twins, Edric and Emira Blight.

They also wore the same Hexside uniform, as both of their sleeves and leggings were light blue, as they both took the illusion track at Hexside like Gus. When Carlos saw Emira, he felt his heart skip a beat, as he has never seen someone so beautiful before.

"Who are you?" Luz asked, as the twins approched them.

"Well-wishers on a mission." Edric said.

"A noble quest." Emira added in.

"Watch this. Hey, Mittens!" Edric called out to Amity, who blushed in embarrassment at the nickname. "Mom said stop forgetting your lunch. And stop being a jerk to your friends." He said, holding up a lunchbox that had a bunny design to it. This also revealed that he and Emira were related to Amity.

"They aren't my friends." Amity said, walking up and taking the lunchbox. This made Luz even more sad, as Carlos made a sour face towards her.

"Yeah, makes sense. They seem too cool for you." Emira said, putting a hand on both Carlos and Luz's shoulders. Carlos swore he felt his heart skip another beat when she touched his shoulder.

"We are?" Luz quietly asked herself.

"You can leave now. All of you." Amity said, walking off. This made Emira chuckle at Amity, as Edric gave Carlos and Luz a wink.

We're now in another part of the library, as Luz and Carlos were now hanging out with Emira and Edric.

"So, you're the humans we've heard so much about." Edric said.

"Yeah. I'm Carlos, and this is my little sister, Luz." Carlos introduced himself and Luz.

"I'm Emira. And this is Edric. We're Amity's older siblings." Emira introduced herself and Edric to Luz and Carlos. "We heard how you embarrassed her at the school and at the witch convention last week. No wonder why she hates you both."

"I know. but we didn't mean any of it." Carlos said.

"I thought we were as cool as cucumbers, but we're as sour as pickles." Luz added.

"Don't waste your time with Mittens. Me and Ed, we're way more fun. Follow us." Emira said, as she grabbed Carlos and Luz by the arms. She and Edric then led them somewhere.

We then see Edric erase the 'non' part from non-fiction from a chalkboard sign. Soon, a librarian with three eyes came over with a group to direct them over to the non-fiction section. He then saw the sign, as he starts breaking down and questioned if anything was real.

We then go to another part of the library, where we see the same librarian from before that talked with Luz and Carlos when they entered. He was trying to put books back on the shelf while reading another book. When he would put one book away, Emira would switch that book with a different book the librarian picked up.

They they switched him with the three-eyed librarian that was now on the ladder, as that librarian noticed he wasn't in the same spot before and started freaking out and the librarian now on the ladder fell off.

Back at the filing cabnets from before, Edric blew dust from a book at the filing cabnets, as they then sneezed out cards, which looked like it was raining index cards. It seemed like everyone was laughing, having fun, when a voice called out.

"Hey." When Luz, Carlos and the twins looked over, they saw Amity with one of the librarians. The librarian then noticed the three-eyed one wasn't there.

"Wait. Where's Gary?" He asked.

"Coming." Gary said, as he then sobbed out. "No!"

That's when the main librarian had pushed out Luz, Carlos and the twins from the library. "You've made reading far too fun. Now stay out." He told them, as he closed the door. That's when the quartet started laughing.

"Man, that was the most non-threatening fun I've had since coming here." Carlos said, once he stopped laughing.

"Amity's even madder at us now. I didn't think that was possible." Luz said when she stopped laughing.

"No. When Mittens gets mad, she gets like this." Edric said, immitating what Amity is like when she's mad. He then started getting light-headed, as he took a breath. "Whoa, I almost passed out."

"You're pretty fun, humans." Emira said, as she and Edric nod to each other. "So, hey, we're coming back tonight. There's a certain book we forgot to check out."

"And bonus. Rumor has it the Wailing Star is supposed to unlock some rare magical event. You in, friends?" Edric asked.

"Sure." Luz said.

"Beats being at the Owl House tonight." Carlos added.

"Great. Meet back here at midnight. See you, Luz and Carlos." Edric said, as he and Emira left with devious smiles on their faces.

"Bye." Luz said as they left. "This is great. First I befriend the siblings, then I befriend the Amity."

"I don't think it'll work like that, Luz." Carlos told her, as they both left. Unbeknownst to them, Amity was watching them from behind a pillar. She then made her angry face Edric had showed Luz and Carlos, but took a breath because she was getting dizzy.

"Whoa. Almost passed out." She told herself.

We're back at the Owl House, as the bat baby was still crying. King had tied pillows to his ears, while Eda used the ability to sever her hands and used them as earplugs while she crossed her arms.

"It's been hours. How can it keep screaming?" King shouted his question.

"Ugh, I hate it too, pip-squeak, but think about the money." Eda said, putting her hands back in place to rub her fingers. The baby bat creature's screaming was so loud, anything made of glass started breaking.

"No amount of snails is worth this tourture. Make it stop." King complained.

"I can't believe I'm about to do this." Eda said, as she picked the baby up and it stopped screaming. She then rocked it to sleep, while trying to sing. "Rock, rock. Maternal gesture."

Just then, Luz and Carlos came in, as they were pretty happy.

"Man, who knew you could have that fun at the library." Carlos said.

"Yeah, I still can't believe cool teens like me. Call me a library book, 'casue they were checking me out." Luz happily said. Both siblings then looked to Eda, who had the baby sleeping in her arms. "Aw, Eda, you look so motherly."

"Say that again and I steal your tonue." Eda threatened.

"Aw, how can you say that around this cute little baby." Luz said, lightly poking the baby. Suddenly, the baby then regurgitated another baby, which that baby repeated again.

There were now three babies, as both Luz and Carlos were disgusted by what they saw. The babies then flew up, as one of them breathed fire. Everyone got out of the way, as the fire hit one of the coushins.

"Parenting sure looks rewarding. Enjoy your life lessons. Bye." Carlos said, as she and Luz left, closing the door behind them. The bat babies then start wrecking the house.

"Uh, uh, for the money." King said.

"For the money." Eda repeated, as she then moved out of the way, as one of the babies shot green goo at her.

We're back at the library, as it was now getting closer to midnight. Luz and Carlos were waiting for Edric and Emira to get there, as Luz was pacing back and forth.

"Gotta be cool." She said, as she tried waiting in different cool poses.

"Luz, just stay calm. They won't care how you wait for them." Carlos told her.

"No, I want her to keep going. It's fun to watch." Came the voice of Emira, as Luz and Carlos turn to see her and Edric there with amused faces. They were't wearing their school uniforms anymore.

Emira was wearing a long-sleeved dark gray shirt under a burgundy tunic with a green, diamond-shaped concealment stone in the center of her chest, gray shorts with burgundy cuffs, and the same black shoes from her school outfit.

Edric wears a dark gray long-sleeved tunic tucked in his gray pants, a sleeveless burgundy shirt and gray boots with burgundy cuffs.

"You guys ready to bring this whole, whatever you're doing, inside?" Edric asked.

"Sure, let's go." Carlos said, as Luz excitedly nods her head. They all then walked up to the door.

"It says no trespassing but I'm allergic to the rules." Edric said, unrolling a piece of paper that had some writine and some key designs.

"And dairy." Emira said.

"Wow. Okay. Just expose me." Edric said, handing Emira the paper. Carlos couldn't help but to chuckle at that.

The paper glowed, as Emira held it up to the keyhole. The paper then burned up, as the keyhole expanded into a doorway for them to go through. This amazed Luz and Carlos.

"Come on." Edric said, as he and Emira start heading in. Carlos followed them, followed lastly by Luz. Once they entered, the keyhole shrank back to normal size. We're now in the dimmly-lit lobby of the library.

"Standing in a dimly-lit lobby. You guys know how to party." Luz told the twins.

"There. The Wailing Star." Edric said, pointing out a window. The start then passed by the window, as it was literally crying.

"Huh, guess that's why it's called the Wailing Star." Carlos said, amused. They all waited for something to happened, but it didn't happen... yet.

"Hmm, nothing happened." Edric said. As he said that, the books started to glow green.

"Wait." Luz said, noticing the books glowing. "The books are glowy." She had walked over to a bookshelf and took out a book called, 'Extinct Birds of the Boiling Isles.' She then opened the book, as a bunch of birds came flying out of the pages.

"Wow." Carlos said, amazed by that.

"Wow, the Wailing Star magicked the books to life." Edric said, looking at Emira with an amazed look. Luz then closed the book, as the birds then disappered.

"Interresting. Opening a book makes things come out, while closing it makes them disappear." Carlos said. That's when Edric and Emira had a great idea.

They walked over to a magazine stand and Edric picked up a magazine called 'Regal Couture.' Edric opened it up and made sure it was pointed at him and Emira, as regal clothes magically appeared on them and a peacock flew out. Carlos couldn't help but blush at how beautiful Emira was in those clothes.

Luz also picked up a magazine that read 'Witch Wares Weekly' and opened it, as she then appeared dressed like a fighter anime or videogame character, as she also had a big sword on her back. She then fell back because of how heavy the sword was.

They then went to the Graphic Novel section, as Luz opened up a book and nothing appeared to happen.

"Nothing happened." Luz said, as a voice bubble with what she said appeared them.

"Wow!" Carlos and the twins said in amazement when they saw that, as a voice bubble appeared with what they said as well. Luz closed the book with a 'thump,' as everything disappeared.

Everyone was then carrying their own copy of 'Snowballs, a History,' as they went to hide and have a snowball fight. Edric was looking for someone to get, when Luz came out and surprised him with a flurry of snowballs. He dodged and returned fire, as Luz hid behind a bookshelf. Emira then appeared behind Luz, as she opened her book, firing snowballs onto her while laughing.

Carlos then surprised Emira by appearing from behind her, as he opened his book and got her with a flurry of snowballs. Luz and Carlos decided to take a break from the fun in the Kid's Corner of the library, as Edric and Emira kept up the snowball fight. Luz and Carlos then noticed the book Amity was reading to the kids.

Luz picked up the book and opened it, as the main character Otabin came out of it.

Back at the Owl House, the bat kids were causing trouble. They were swinging around weapons, spilling potions, jumping up and down, and even wearing a pair of boots Eda had.

"What silences children? What if we invent a TV network for ages 6 to 11?" King suggested.

"That's insane." Eda shot down, as she then thought of something. "Uh, there'sonly one way out of this." She took out a switch-blade dagger, making King gasp.

"Apple slices and storytime." Eda said, as she cut an apple that was in front of her in half, while taking out Otabin, the bookmaker. "All right, brats. let's do this. Ugh, being parental makes me sick."

As the bat babies and King sat down, eda started reading the book.

The scene transactioned back to the library, as Luz finished reading a sentance Eda started. That's when Edric called out.

"Luz, Carlos, check this out." Edric said, as he and Emira came in holding a book called 'Quacks Eats Snacks.'

"Look what we discovered." Emira said, opening the book and the duck from the book came out quacking. Luz found him cute.

"Aw, cute little quackster." She swooned.

Suddenly, Edric drew muscular legs on the duck with a pencil, as they literally became apart of the duck. The duck then started to panic, not liking this at all.

"Now he's extra cute." Emira said, closing the book as the duck disappeared.

"Gues that duck didn't skip leg day." Carlos nervously joked, as it made Edric and Emira laugh.

"Your turn, Luz." Emira said, seeing the book Luz was holding.

"I don't know." Luz said, unsure.

"Come on. Don't stop the fun." Edric said, coming closer with the pencil.

"Look, if she doesn't want to do it, she doesn't have to." Carlos told them.

"Then I'll do it." Edric said, as he took the book and turned to a page. He drew an angry face and claws on Otabin. The character was then about to come out, until Luz clsed the book.

"I don't want to see what happens."Luz said.

"Whatever. We didn't come here just to doodle. Come on." Emira said, rabbing an arm each of Carlos and Luz and pulling them along with her and Edric. Luz had dropped the book because of that, as it landed open and the character started coming out when they left.

Edric and Emira then led them to the romance section, which made Carlos blush.

"Oh, wow. Boiling Isles romance. That's totally lame." Luz ackwardly said.

"Yeah, totally lame." Carlos repeated, as he then added. "Unless you guys are into it." He was mostly focused on Emira about that last part.

"I think I'm into this one." Edric said, grabbing a book towards the end and pulling it, as a secret entrance to a secret room opened up.

"Wow, that's a good book." Luz said.

"Who knew the library had hidden rooms." Carlos added.

"Your clubhouse is, like, my ultimate secret hideaway." Luz said, admiring the room.

"We don't hang out in the library. 'Teacher, I'm in love with a dictionary.'" Edric said, mocking nerds

"'I'm studying the dork arts.'" Emira joined in, then added. "This is Amity's secret hideaway." This revilation surprised both Luz and Carlos speechles at the moment.

"Mittens has gotten too full of herself. She keeps tattling on us when we cut class." Edric said.

"She needs to learn not to mess with people like that, so we're going to find her diary." Emira said.

"And then post the pages all around school for everyone to see." Edric finished. Him saying that brought red flags up for both Luz and Carlos.

"What? Isn't that taking it a bit too far?" Luz asked.

"She's right. Even if this is Amity we're talking about, that still isn't right." Carlos added.

"No. See, we're her family. It's tough love. She needs to learn to lighten up." Emira told them, as she and Edric went to look for the diary.

"Well, I don't see any diaries in here." Carlos said, pretending to look around.

"Nope, nothing. Let's just leave." Luz added. Luz then saw something she recognized. "Wait, are those... Good witch Azura books one through four?!" She asked, as there was a shelf witht the first four Azura books on it.

"Wow, who knew she had the same favorite book series as you." Carlos said, shocked that someone like Amity liked that. Luz then went over to the shelf.

"You get these on the Boiling Isles? So magestic." She said, as she then grabbed a book with a hand-drawn cover of Amity as Azura. "Is this cover hand-drawn?"

"It looks like Amity as Azura." Carlos pointed out. Luz opened it up, as a smaller version of Amity appeared.

"I saw the human siblings again." The little Amity spoke.

"The diary." Luz realized.

"I may have overreacted. I don't want to come off as crual. I just can't show weakness." Mini Amity said. This made Carlos question why she couldn't show weakness in his head.

"No." Luz said, closing the diary before she could hear more.

"What have you got there, guys?" Edric asked, appearing behind them.

"Oh, nothing. Just Good Witch Azura 5, where she goes through her goth phase." Luz lied, as she hid the diary behind her back.

"Yeah, it's a good read." Carlos also lied, as he didn't really like Azura like Luz does. That's when Emira levitates the diary out from behind Luz and brings it to her and Edric, as they open it up to see it was the diary they were looking for.

"It's not fair. I'm the only one who know's Ed and Em aren't perfect. Why do they keep getting away with things?" Mini Amity from another entry asked.

"This is it." The twins said in unison.

"Luz, Carlos. Were you hiding this from us?" Emira asked.

"You see how she treats people. And how she treats you two." Edric said.

"I know Amity can be kind of cold, but no one deserves this." Luz said.

"She's right. Taking someone's diary and putting it up around school not only violates their privacy, but would be emarrassing to them as well." Carlos added.

"These are private thoughts. Let's put it back." Luz said, as she reached and took ahold of the diary. The Noceda's and the Blight twins then have a tug-of-war with the diary.

"She needs this."

"It's for her own good." The twins argued. That's when a few pages of the diary fell out, and a few mini Amity's came out, talking about the entries of a certain page. Luz then came over with the diary and started picking up the entry pages. That's when Amity walked in and saw what was happening.

"Really?" She asked, sounding upset. Luz looked up to see she was upset and embarrassed.

"Uh... It's not what it looks like." Luz said, picking up the last page. This made Edric and Emira snicker at the scene.

"You two are the worst. But you..." Amity said to Ed and Em, before turning to Luz and taking her diary back. "I've been trying to figure out what your deal is. Are you a poser? A nerd? I know. You're a bully, Luz." She said, as she turned and walked away.

"Amity." Luz said, trying to go stop her. That's when Carlos put a hand on her shoulder.

"Let me try to go and talk with her. I doubt she'd want to talk with someone who was holding her diary." Carlos told her.

"But..." Luz tried to argue, but Carlos put a fingure on her lips to quiet her.

"Just let me try, okay?" He asked, which Luz gae a nod. Carlos then went off to talk with Amity.

"Mittens killed the fun." Emira said.

"Again. Oh, well." Edric added. "We're headed out to go goblin tipping. Wanna come?" He asked Luz.

"Yeah, with you." Emira said, as she grabbed Luz's arm. Luz then pulled it back.

"Look, you guys are cool." Luz told them.

"Mmm-hmm." Both twins acknowlaged.

"But I need to go see what my brother says to Mittens, I mean Amity." Luz said.

"Alright. See you around." Emira said, as she then added while leaving with Edric. "And tell your brother I find him to be cute." Luz then went to listen in on the conversation with Carlos and Amity.

Speaking of, we see Carlos catching up with Anity.

"Amity, wait up." He said.

"What do you want? Here to bully me like your sister?" Amity asked sourly.

"No, Luz and I aren't bullies. We didn't even know your siblings were even after your diary until they showed us your hideaway. Honest." Carlos said. Unbeknownst to them, Luz was now hiding behind a bookshelf.

"Why should I believe you? All you and your sister have been doing since we met is getting me into trouble." Amity said.

"Look, we never meant to do any of those things. Luz and I just wanted to see Hexside and the convention. We just happened to run into you at both places, and luck just wasn't in your favor those days." Carlos said. That's when Luz came out of her hiding spot.

"He's right. We just to make friends here, mostly me." She said.

"Great, you're here, too. Why don't you both go away before things somehow get worse." Amity said. They all then heard heavy footsteps approaching them. They turned their heads to the end of the bookshelves, as a monstrous version of Otabin appears there. "Otabin?"

"With claws and fangs and breaking bones, I found a friend to make my own." Otabin said, reaching for Amity. Before he could grab her, Carlos pushed Amity and Luz out of the way of his hand, as Otabin then grabbed him.

"Carlos!" Luz yelled, as she recovered.

"I'll be fine. Just take Amity and get out of here." Carlos said, as Otabin took him away to another part of the library.

"We have to go help him." Luz told Amity.

"Why should I help? All you two ever been were annoyances since I met you." Amity said.

"Because he saved you from being grabbed by that thing. You at least owe it to him to help him." Luz said. Amity had thought about it and Luz was right. Carlos had saved her life.

"Fine, I'll help. But you two will leave me alone after this." Amity said, running in the direction Otabin took Carlos.

"No promises there." Luz said, following Amity.

We then go to where Otabin took Carlos, as he pressed him against a page of a huge book. Otabin then sewed Carlos' right arm to the page, making it 2-D.

"Why are you doing this? I haven't done anything to you." Carlos told Otabin.

"But friends are what I've always sought. And now a friend my claws have caught." Otabin rhymed to Carlos.

"Let him go, Otabin!" Came the voice of Amity, as Carlos and Otabin look over to see her with Luz and an abomination. "Luz, I will distract Otabin while you get Carlos."

"Got it." Luz said.

"Abomination, attack." Amity commanded the abomination, as it went after Otabin. "Sorry, Otabin." She said under her breath.

As the abomination started a fight with Otabin, Luz got to the book and tried helping him from the page, but it wasn't working, as the thread was very strong.

"What is this thread made of?!" Luz asked, panicking.

"I don't know, but it isn't that fun." Carlos said.

"Luz, what'sa taking so long over there?" Amity asked, trying to focus on her abomination.

"He's stuck on the page because of the thread." Luz told her.

"What?!" Amity asked, losing focus on her abomination. This made Otabin pick up the abomination and throw it against the wall, splattering it.

Otabin then went over to Amity and grabbed her before she could call on her abomination again. He went over to his book to put her in, as Luz got out of the way in time. Otabin placed Amity against the empty page next to Carlos and sewed her arm on it.

"My hero." Carlos sarcastically said when Amity joined him.

"Hey, I tried my best. Not like you could've tried any better." Amity sourly said. Otabin then went back to his needle and thread, as he had forgotten about Luz, who was hiding behind the book.

"Hey, no fighting. I have an idea." Luz whispered loud enough for them to hear. She then started pushing the book, as it was starting to lean the direction of Carlos and Amity were on.

"What are you doing?" Amity asked.

"Making an escape." Carlos said, as he and Amity then got ready. The book then fell and hit Otabin, as Carlos and Amity escaped while still attatched to the book, while Luz followed closely behind them. Once they were a good distance from Otabin, they hid behind a shelf.

"Now what?" Amity asked, mostly towards Luz.

"I don't know. I didn't even know that would work. I was all like..." Luz said, as she made a silly grunting sound. This actually made Amity smile and laugh.

"Wow, who knew you could laugh at anything other than someone else's misery." Carlos said, as he and Luz smiled at Amity laughing at Luz's goofiness.

Amity was about to retort, until Otabin threw his needle used for his books through the book they were attached to. He pulled the book, as it landed on the cover side down, then pulling Carlos and Amity closer to him. Amity tried pulling on her arm, to no use. Carlos then saw a ladder the librarians use and grabbed it, holding on tp it with all his strength. The force between the pulling of both sides made the bond on Carlos' arm to the page break, setting him free.

"Amity!" Carlos yelled, noticing she was still attatched to the book.

"Carlos!" Amity yelled out, as she was getting closer to Otabin. Once she got to him, he turned the book so she was facing him. "Please, don't do this. I've been reading you since I was younger."

"You squirm and fight, yet scream and shout. But friendship always will win out." Otabin rhymed, as he took the thread and sewed up Amity's other arm, along with both her legs and body. This made Amity gasp. Just as Otabin was about to sew the rest of Amity in the book, both Luz and Carlos rode on a book cart and crashed into Otabim, making him go flying into a bookcase, making it fall in him.

Luz and Carlos then pulled all the thread off Amity, as she became 3-D again. "Thanks, guys." Amity thanked them. That's when Otabin lifted the bookshelf off of himself.

"We must stay friends until the end. There is no tear I cannot mend." Otabin rhymed, as he was getting up.

"Thank us later." Luz said.

"Let's just focus on him for now." Carlos added. Otabin then grabbed Luz this time and started wrapping her in thread. This made Carlos and Amity gasp. Amity then pulled out a pencil and wrote in the big book, saying aloud.

"'Luz has to right a wrong.'" She said, as a giant eraser magically came from the book. "Luz, quick." She then tossed the eraser to Luz, as she caught it and erased the drawing Edric drew, making Otabin return to normal. Amity came over and picked Otabin up.

"I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me." Otabin apologized.

"Hey, it's okay. We're still friends." Amity told him, accepting the apology. She then turned her head to Luz, who was next to Otabin's book, giving her a nod. Luz turned to the book, closing it and Otabin disappeared back into the book.

After all that happened, Amity, Luz and Carlos had went outside. The sun was rising, meaning it was now morning.

"What an adventure. Thanks for helping clean up." Luz said, looking to Amity.

"Yeah, we couldn't have done it all without your help." Carlos added.

"This never happened." Amity told them both, walking past them.

"Wait. It doesn't make up for reading your diary, But would you wanna borrow this?" Luz asked, reaching into her bag and pulling out The Good Witch Azura 5 and handing it to Amity. "I noticed you only had up to four."

"Thank you." Amity thanked, taking the book and started to leave. She then stopped and turned back to the siblings, more toward Luz. "Maybe you aren't a bully. I haven't exactly been the friendliest witch either. I'll think on that." She then left.

"That was generous of you to let her borrow your book." Carlos said, putting an arm around Luz's shoulder.

"Well, since I figured she like the same series as I do, that she would enjoy that book." Luz said, making Carlos give her a smile.

"Good. Now, let's get home. I'm really tired after all that." He said, heading back to the Owl House.

"I couldn't agree more." Luz said, following him.

We then return to the Owl House, where Luz and Carlos enter through the front door.

"Hey, guys. We're home." Carlos said, as he and Luz then turn to the couch to see Eda and King sleeping with the bat babies.

"Hoot, hoot!" Hooty yelled, as the door opened.

"Hooty." Luz was about to scold him, until a huge woman's head with bat wings and legs that had claws squeezed in through the door. She even had long, dark hair. "Whoa! You must be mama."

"Yeah. Yeah. Mama is I. And I is the Bat Queen." Bat Queen introduced herself, as she then whistled. The babies heard her whistle, as they flew to her and went into her hair. "Ah, snuggle dumplings." The Bat queen then spit up a chest full of gold Snail coins, followed by a necklace with a skull whistle on it.

"For troubles. Eda is owed one." Bat Queen said. She then squeezed through the door again, as she left by flying off. Carlos then closed the door.

"Aw, sweet babies." Eda talked in her sleep. She then felt the babies weren't there, as she woke up in a panic and asked. "Babies? Where are the babies?"

"The Bat Queen Came and got them." Carlos said, as Luz did hand gestures to follow along with it.

"Aw. And I just taught Junior how to pick locks too." Eda said, bummed now that the babies were gone.

"You're night looks very successful. Look at all the money you made." Carlos said, motioning to the chest full of money.

"And look at this cool whistle that scary woman gave you. I'd wash it before you use it." Luz said, as she then handed it to Eda.

"Yeah. We did it all for the money." Eda gloomly said

"I miss my babies." King started sobbing while hugging Eda.

"I actually got you something from the library." Luz said, handing Eda a book titled 'Coping with Empty Nest Syndrome.'

"Heh. Thanks, kid. So, how was your guys' night?" She asked.

"Good. Then bad. Then maybe good." Luz said.

"I might've met a very beautiful witch that likes to pull some nasty pranks on their younger sibling." Carlos admitted.

"Ah, I see someone has a crush on someone else." Eda teased, making Carlos blush. That's when the door opened back up.

"Hey, you wanna hear about my night?" Hooty asked.

"No." Eda, Luz and Carlos said in unison.

"That's not a thing anyone ever wants." King rudely told Hooty. That's when Carlos closed the door.

"Luz and I are gonna go get some rest. We had quite the night." Carlos said, as he and Lus head towards the stairs.

"Alright, then. Get some rest." Eda told them, as they went upstairs.

Once there, Luz stopped Carlos. "Hey, I got to let you know something." She said.

"What's up, Luz?" He asked.

"When Emira left with Edric, she wanted me to let you know she thought you were cute." Luz explained to him. This made his heart skip a beat again.

"S-She did?" Carlos asked, as he blushed.

"Yeah. Just thought I'd let you know. Well, goodnight." Lus said, as she went into her room to go to sleep.

Carlos had stood there in thought for a few moments, as a smile then came to his face. He then went to his room to have a good sleep.

Alright, this chapter is done. Hopefully this chapter gave some insight on who Carlos would get together with for later on down the road. That's right, he will be getting together with Emira Blight. Their relationship will be a fun one to do.

Anyways, hope you all enjoyed this chapter, as the next one will be the body swap chapter. Still thinking about how that one will turn out. See you all next chapter.
