Sneaking back into Hexside
Hello everyone, and welcome back to The Owl House: The Bro Files. In this chapter, Gus will not only sneak Luz into Hexside, but Carlos as well. As they do that, Eda will try getting them enrolled into said school they're sneaking back into. Will they be able to enroll? Let's read and find out.
We start at Hexside, as we enter a room where the Human Appreciation Society was meeting. Gus was showing human items to the other club members.
One was a cheese gratter that was labeled 'Nail Clippers'. Next to it was an open bag of chips that was being closed together by a pink cell phone labeled 'Whoopie Cushion'. Next to that was a broken, open umbrella that was upside down that had chips, leaves and sticks labeled 'Food Bowl'. Then, next to that was a rubik's cube labeled 'Weapon?'. The last item was a paper clip labeled 'Pay-Per-Clorp'.
"Behold. The wonders of the human realm." Gus said, as he then picked up the paper clip. "This little fellow is one of their most valued objects. It aids in the compiling of printed wisdom, the scratching of gunk from under your nails, and my favorite... it even mimics the sound of the human ocean." He used a finger to make it do a sproing noise, which sounded nothing like the ocean.
"Ah, the human realm. So beautiful." Gus said, as he then continued. "It's safe to say the pay-per-clorp is a stunning testament to human ingenuity. Any questions?" He asked, as there were four other students that were apart of the club.
One was a humanoid goat with a one eye and a single horn sticking straight out of his forehead, as he was in the bard track. Next to him on his left was a normal looking witch girl with straight brown hair who was in the healing track. To her left was a girl who had a huge, blinking eye as a head, as she also had blue haid and was in the potion track.
The last kid next to the eyeball girl was a normal witch boy with tan skin, brown hair and was in the construction track, as evident by the brown sleeves and tights. Most of the kids there were either asleep, or were about to fall asleep, except the one that was in the construction track, as he raised his hand.
"Ah, our newest member, Mattholomule." Gus said, motioning to said kid.
"Augustus, is this what the president of the Human Appreciation Society thinks passes as 'Human Artifacts'?" Mattholomule asked, making air quotes with his fingers. "Because at my old school we had real treasures." He moved Gus's things out of the way, as he put his own 'human' things on the table.
What he put down was a rock with numbers like a cell phone with the words 'Cellular Phone', an egg with a skull painted on with the words 'Human Skull', and a bunch of leaves, twigs and mud in the shape of a shoe that had the words 'Sports Footwear' on the table. This made the other kids gasp, as they were amazed and believed they were real.
"So real. I wanna touch them." Bo said.
"Go ahead. In my club, we didn't have any dumb rules." Mattholomule said, pointing to a long list of rules Gus made for the club. The first three rules you could see were No touching, No roleplaying as humans and Stop asking about human blood.
"Shh. He didn't mean that." Gus gasped, as he comforted his list of rules. He then went over to the other students and grabbed the 'Human Artifacts' Mattholomule brought out of their hands, as they didn't like that.
"Well, this isn't your club. Thankfully." Gus said to Mattholomule.
"Exactly, who thinks I should be president?" Mattholomule asked.
"I do!" Eileen said, despite not having a mouth.
"Mattholomule for prez." Bo girl said.
"I'm an undecided voter." The goat boy said. They all then complained about wanting to touch the human things, as Gus took a closer look atthe 'Cellular Phone' and saw they weren't real.
"These are fakes." Gus said, surprising both Mattholomule and the other students.
"You can't prove that!" Mattholomule exclaimed, getting defensive. He then calmed himself and added. "You're just trying to distract these human appreciators. You're afraid of getting kicked out of office. It's your word versus mine."
Everyone there was taking Mattholomule's side, as they weren't believing in Gus anymore. Gus had backed up to the front of the classroom, as he then looked at the pictures of Luz and Carlos and came up with a brilliant idea.
"What if I brought in experts?" He asked, which Mattholomule didn't believe him.
"Yeah, right. Who can you find that are bigger human experts than any of us?" Mattholomule asked, skeptical of Gus.
"How about real humans?" Gus asked, gaining everyone's attention again.
"Yeah. Uh-huh. And you've never brought your friends here. Why?" Mattholomule asked, still skeptical.
"Well, they're busy. They have jobs. But I'll bring them in tomorrow. They'll prove I'm right." Gus told them.
"Sure you will, Augustus. Sure you will." Mattholomule said, thinking Gus was lying.
We're now at the owl house, where Luz and Carlos were helping Eda sort through junk. Gus had arrived and begged them to go to Hexside with him tomorrow.
"Gus, I'm sure we'd love to go to school with you, but I don't know how we can." Luz told him, while holding a box of junk to sell.
"Yeah, weren't we banned by Pricipal Bump for pretending to be abominations and sneaking in?" Carlos asked, as he was sitting on the couch.
"But nothing. Bump did you two a favor. There ain't nothing for either of you at that dweebus factory." Eda said, sorting through some junk.
"Hey, I might not be a big fan of school myself, but at least I wouldn't mind going to one." Carlos told Eda, then added. "Besides, it would beat being here all the time."
"Carlos is right. At least it would be better then unpacking boxes in the Eda coven." Luz said, getting up.
"Oh, you two think you're clever, huh?" Eda asked, getting up as well.
"Whoo! Fight, fight, fight!" King cheered, hoping to see a fight.
"Can it, King." Eda scolded him. "First off, it's the 'Bad Girl Coven,' and second off, I guess either of you don't want in on the T-shirt order, huh?" She held up a drawing of a shirt that said 'Bad Girl Coven' on it in pink, green and blue surrounded by lightning bolts. There was also her surfing on her staff wearing sunglasses and a backwards baseballcap on the shirt.
"I don't care about T-shirts, Eda! I want to learn magic, and they teach that at Hexside!" Luz said, motioning to Gus for refferance.
"She's right, Eda. All you were able to do was teach us only one spell, and a bunch of gross stuff. We do need more than that." Carlos told Eda.
"I mean, yeah, well, ugh, I don't wanna hear another word about Hexside, unless it's 'Hexside is on fire,' and 'Let's grab a front row seat!'" Eda said, storming out the front door.
"Oh, look what you did." King said, pretending to be concerned. "I'm gonna go rub it in." He jumped down off his spot and followed Eda out the door while laughing. Luz let out a sigh of exasperation, as she sat next to Carlos.
"Guys, about the ban. I, uh, used my HAS presidential authority to pull some strings. You both have been given full pardons!" Gus exclaimed, lying to his two friends.
"You mean..."
"I got the bans lifted!" Gus finished her sentence. This got Luz very excited, though Carlos was a bit skeptical.
"Oh, my gosh. Yes, yes, yes! Of course I'll be there tomorrow! Gus, this will be great!" Luz excitedly said.
"Wait, so you just helped lift our bans, just like that?" Carlos asked, snapping his fingers.
"Yup. You both can come visit again." Gus lied.
"Okay, I guess I can come help." Carlos said
"Great. See you guys tomorrow." Gus said, as he then left.
The next day at Hexside, Gus had bumped into Willow and told her his plan about sneaking Luz and Carlos into Hexside.
"This isn't going to work out at all." Willow said, thinking his plan will fail.
"Well, I feel like I took care of any potential problems." Gus said, rubbing the back of his head.
"You lied to our best friends and told them you got the ban lifted. That seems like a potential problem to me." Willow told Gus.
"You don't understand. The members were going mad. They were bloodthirsty. They were touching objects. I had no choice!" Gus guiltily exclaimed.
"Really? What about all the wanted posters around school?" Willow asked.
"What wanted posters?" Gus asked, pulling a wanted poster from his bag, indicating that he took all the posters down. He then pulled out two cowls. "I also got these. To keep them undercover."
"Undercover from what?" Luz slyly asked, as she and Carlos came walking up to Gus and Willow. This surprised Gus, as he put the cowls on them backwards, getting an 'Eep!' from Luz.
"Behold, your new cowls." Gus said, as Carlos fixed his cowl.
"Whoa! I love it." Luz said, as Carlos fixed her cowl too. Luz then gave her cowl a big sniff once she could see again. "On the Boiling Isles, new things smell old."
"Yep. Put it on. Hide your ears." Gus said with a nervous laugh. "Wanna keep you guys under wraps till the big reveal." Willow gave Gus a disappointed look, as Carlos was still a little skeptical of this.
"I still don't get why we have to wear these, but if you insist." Carlos said, putting the hood of his cowl up. Luz did the same.
"Oh, a showman. I totally get it. You bring the razzle, we'll bring the dazzle." Luz said, throwing some confetti in the air. This got some looks from Gus and Willow.
"Do you always have confetti on you or..." Willow was about to ask, until a horrible screeching sound interrupted her. Gus pulled up his sleeve, as we see a little purple imp-like creature with one big eye was on his wrist. The eye had hands of a clock, as these represented wristwatches. Gus pressed the eye and it stopped.
"That's my alarm. Uh, we better get going." Gus said, gribbing both Luz and Carlos and headed inside. "See you after school, Willow."
"Bye, friend. Be safe. Make good choices." Luz said, as she was being pulled off into Hexside.
Back at the owl house, Eda was sitting in front of the house, thinking about what Luz and Carlos said earlier to Hooty.
"I'm trying to protect them. Hexside chews up anything unique and spits out bland mush." Eda said, grabbing a nearby flower and ripping the petals off.
"I chew insects. I turn them into mush." Hooty said, as he was paying more attention to the flies buzzing around him.
"But that's my beef. Do they need to draw their own conclusions?" Eda asked.
"My beef is insects. They're what I eat." Hooty said, being unhelpful.
"You're just gonna be unhelpful, huh?" Eda asked Hooty.
"All I know is, you taught me and I turned out just fine." Hooty said, as he then tried reaching for a fly on the door with his tongue, but he couldn't reach it. That's when Eda had a dreaded realization.
"I gotta get those kids into school." She said.
Back at Hexside, wee see two students picking on another student by throwing his backpack to one another. They were then stopped by two creatures, as one had grabbed one kid with a hooked staff.
They wore black outfits with blue aprins that had yellow noses with an eye in the center of the noses, grey belts, grey boots and blue hoods. Their faces looked like upside down skulls, as the teeth were on top of their heads, had slits for noses and their eyes were sewn shut. One of them began sniffing the kid.
"Trouble." It said. The other kid tried running away, but was grabbed by the other creature and was dragged off to detention. Gus, Luz and Carlos had walked up on it as it happened.
"That's new." Carlos said, pointing it out.
"Well, they showed up after your last visit. They smell trouble. Literally." Gus said, as one of the creatures then stopped and 'looked' at them.
"Trouble." It said.
"Okay, time to run for no perticular reason." Gus laughed nervously, as he grabbed both Carlos and Luz, running away from the detention guards. He wasn't paying attention, as he bumped into Mattholomule and landed on his butt. Gus noticed the banned posters of Luz and Carlos fell from his bag and he picked them up before the two siblings found them.
"Augustus, you should really watch where you're going. Don't want the president of the HAS getting hurt on his last day in office." He said, as he then noticed Luz and Carlos. "These must be your humans. Hmm. Looks like any other witchlings to me."
"Psst! Psst!" Gus had got the siblings attention, wanting them to show Mattholomule their ears. "Dazzle."
"Oh." Luz said, as she mimicked the sound of a trumpet. Carlos and Luz then took off their hoods, showing their ears were round. "Ta-da!"
"Humans!" Mattholomule gasped.
"Not just any humans. Expert humans." Gus said proudly.
"Yeah. We've been doing this for years." Luz said.
"In a matter of speaking." Carlos said.
"They're her to authenticate your treasures. See you at the meeting." Gus said, as he, Carlos and Luz walked past Mattholomule. Luz and Carlos put their hoods back up.
"No, no, no! They can't know that I lied. Then they'll never make me president. Huh?" Mattholomule said to himself once they left. He then noticed the banned posters of Luz and Carlos that Gus didn't pick up. He then did an evil laugh. "Oh, Gus, I have you now."
We go back to Eda, who was standing outside Hexside now. She was looking at the building with distaste.
"Ugh, I had this nightmare before." She said, as she then started walking inside.
We now go back to Gus, Luz and Carlos, as they continued walking through the halls of Hexside.
"As president of the HAS, I should feel bad about dunking on one of our own members. But as a Gus, I feel like doing this." Gus said, as he started doing a celebration dance. Both Luz and Carlos looked around and saw a trophy case, as they went up to it.
"Wow. Who got the trophy for most bones?" Luz curiously asked, as one of the detention guards came by and sniffed the air. Guz came by and grabbed both the siblings and ran for it.
"We don't have time for that right now. We gotta get to the club room" Gus said.
"Okay. But next time, you have to give us a full tour." Carlos said.
"Yeah, next time." Gus said, nervously laughing. They then stopped when they saw the abomination teacher Professor Hermonculous
"Oh! It's the abomination professor. I should introduce myself. Apologize for the incident." Luz said.
"Luz, no. We can't draw attention to ourselves right now. Unless, Gus wants us to." Carlos said, looking down at Gus with a devious smile.
"Oh, wouldn't you know? We suddenly have time for a full tour of Hexside." Gus said, pushing Luz and Carlos away.
We're now back with Eda, as she was now in Principal Bump's office. She took a pencil from some sort of sea creature mug.
"Been quite a while since I sat here, huh?" Eda asked Bump, as she balanced the pencil on her upper lip and sat back with her feet on his deck. "I gotta admit, it's extra weird without you yelling at me for picking fights or stealing."
"I can easily change that." Bump said, as he magically lifted Eda's feet of his desk and made her fall back. He then asked, "What are you doing here, Edalyn?"
"I want to enroll my humans, Carlos and Luz, at Hexside. And before you get all judgy..."
"That's not a bad idea." bump said, interrupting Eda before she continued.
"You no good... Wait, really?" She asked, dumbfounded.
"I think the student body could learn a lot from having such exchange students." Bump said, getting up and walking to a filing cabinet. "But before I even consider that, there's a lot to answer for."
Bump magically made Eda sit upside down, as he knew she had put her feet up on his desk again. He then brought out a large stack of files.
"All right. Yeah. I heard about that abomination incident." Eda said, as she was trying to sit back upright.
"Oh, I'm not talking about Luz and Carlos. I'm talking about the necrotic experiments, the graffiti, the scams, the cheating, Miss Jenkinmeyer's teeth. The trouble you caused when you were here, Eda." Bump said, dropping the large stack of files in front of Eda.
"Huh, I thought there'd be more." Eda said, apparently unimpressed.
Meanwhile, Gus had taken Carlos and Luz to an outdoor sports field, where they were sitting on some bleachers. There were two other students on the bleachers, as we see a scoreboard that had a demonic, three-eyed pink dragon attatched to it. On the scoreboard, it said 'Hexside, Home of the Banshees' on it. On the field, se see Skara practicing some sort of sport.
"This is where we play the sport." Gus said. Skara tried going for the ball, but a Griffin swooped in and grabbed her, as it put her in one of the baskets used for the sport she was playing.
"Wow, that was both entertaining and brutal." Carlos said, as he clapped with Gus and Luz. Gus had noticed a detention guard wandering around, as he grabbed both Luz and Carlos and went back inside. Once inside, they passed by a classroom door, as Luz noticed it.
"Ohh, what's in here?" She asked, as she and Carlos looked through the window.
"The Plant Homeroom." Gus said, as we get a look inside and see a few students attending to some marvelous plants. We then see a plant try to eat Amelia, but WIllow came over and tickled the plant, making it laugh and spit Amelia back out.
"Willow, hey." Luz said, gaining Willow's attention and she and Carlos waved to her. She waved back to her friends that were tricked into coming back here. Then Gus appeared in the window.
"Hi." He nervously waved to her, to which she put her hand down and gave him a disappointed look. "Bye." He then left while grabbing Carlos and Luz. He then took them to the Illusion Track Homeroom, where it has a bunch of mirrors in it.
"And this is where I spend my time. The Illusion Track Homeroom." Gus said. Carlos and Luz saw Edric and Emira, along with another student, being taught by a purple imp woman with three eyes.
Emira made herself appear taller by using her illusion magic to make her legs look like they extended. Edric used his illusion magic to make himself look more extravagent and handsome. The third student was nervously looking through a book, as they then made their entire face disappear with their magic, making them panic. The teacher then helped them by magically putting their face back, as they took a deep breath.
"Hey, Ed. Hey, Em." Carlos called to the two while waving. The twins looked in his direction and were surprised to see him there, but waved back anyway. Luz then noticed something in the classroom across the hall.
"Wait, if you're here, then who is that?" Luz asked Gus, pointing to a double of him in the other classroom.
"That's one of my illusions. It takes notes for me when I'm not around." Gus said. Just then, the illusion Gus held up a note that read 'I'm not paying attention.' That made Gus gasp, as the illusion Gus chuckled at it. "He doesn't always do what he's told."
"Wow Gus, you're good." Luz said, impressed.
"Yeah. I moved up a couple grades." Gus said, as the imp watch on his wrist went off again. "Oh, time for HAS meeting."
"Hey, mind if I stay in here? I want to chat with Edric and Emira for a bit." Carlos asked.
"No, you can't!" Gus exclaimed in a panic.
"Why not?" Carlos asked, slightly confused. He then added, "Is there something you're hiding from us, Gus?"
"Uhh... no." Gus said, sweating.
"Then why do you need both of us for your club if you just would need one of us?" Carlos asked.
"Because... Two experts are better than one." Gus said. Carlos then sighed.
"Fine, let's go." Carlos said, as Gus lead the way and the Noceda siblings followed.
At the HAS, the members were chanting 'humans' until Gus had entered.
"Human Appreciation Society... It is my distinct pleasure to introduce to you... Luz and Carlos, the humans." Gus had introduced, as Luz was immitating Michael Jackson, while Carlos entered normally. They had both taken off their hoods to show their ears. The other club members were thrilled to see them, except Mattholomule.
"Luz, Carlos, will you two inspect the items?" Gus asked, reffering to the items on the table Mattholomule brought in.
"Of course, Mr. President. Allow us to determine if they're truly of our origin." Luz said, as she reached for the fake shoe, while Carlos reached for the fake skull. That's when Mattholomule had enough.
"Wait! Don't make any more moves, humans!" He yelled, as he removed the items from the desk and jumped on it. "I have something to say. I'm new here at Hexside. Making friends has been hard, so I lied. They're all fakes." The three other club members gasped at this. This even surprised Gus.
"I mean, it was obvious. Human shoes aren't that different from a witches shoe, and the one he made was made from leaves, twigs and mud." Carlos said, giving his imput.
"I thought if I was important enough, people would like me, but I caused enough drama. So, I'll go. I'm sorry." Mattholomule finished.
"Hey, man. It's okay. You're only human. Well, you know what I mean." Luz said.
"Mattholomule, you aren't alone. You have a place here in the HAS." Gus said, as the other three students agreed.
"Thanks, guy. I knew you'd understand." Mattholomule said with a smile.
We then go back to Eda, who was standing in one of the hallways with Principal Bump. They were standing in front of some lockers that had graffiti on it.
"Ugh, I don't wanna do this!" Eda whined, as one of her things to do was clean the graffiti she put there years ago.
"There's the whiny rebel teen I remember. You'll need this, to clean up all the hexed graffiti you left us. good luck." Bump said, handing her a mop and leaving.
Eda stuck her tongue out at him when he left. She then got the mop wet and when she went to clean the graffiti, it moved away. She kept trying, but the words and drawings kept moving away, until the formed the words 'Mother Noooo!'. She then tried getting that too, but it moved as well, making her grown in frustration.
Back at the HAS, all the members except Mattholomule started leaving, saying bye to Luz and Carlos.
"Hey, Augustus, Luz, Carlos. Thank you for being so forgiving." Mattholomule said.
"We've all been the new kid before. Right, Gus?" Luz asked Gus.
"Yeah." Gus agreed.
"Well, I just have one thing to say... There they are! They're the intruders!" Mattholomule said, pointing to Luz and Carlos and pulling out their banned posters when the detention guards busted in through the door. One of them sniffed the air.
"Trouble." It said.
"No, it's fine. The ban's been lifted. Tell them, Gus." Luz said. The guards then took both her and Carlos. "Ahh. Gus! Tell them!"
"Luz, Gus lied about the ban being lifted to us. I knew something fishy was going on!" Carlos said, as he and Luz were taken to detention.
"Oh, who's the liar now, Augustus?" Mattholomule asked, having a smug look on his face
With Willow, she was tending to the plants while worried about her friends.
"Maybe I've been too hard on Gus. I mean, what trouble could they get into?" Willow asked the plant she was tending
"Help!" Came the cry of Luz, as Willow looked to the door.
"Hey, we don't even learn here!" Carlos shouted, as Willow saw him and Luz being dragged to detention by the detention guards.
"Luz! Carlos!" Willow shouted, worried for her friends.
"Where are you taking us?" Luz asked.
"Detention." One of the detention guards said.
"Oh. That won't be so bad, right?" Luz asked.
"Knowing this place, it could be worse than human detentions." Carlos said. They turn a corner to a huge door that opened three red eyes, followed by it's mouth with huge fangs. Both siblings screamed, as they were thrown in.
Back in the HAS room, Gus was fuming mad at Mattholomule, as he was glarring daggers at the older boy.
"I can't believe you three fell for that. Like I'd actually apologize." Mattholomule rudely said.
"What did you do?" Gus angrily asked.
"'Oh, boo-hoo. I'm sorry. I'm the new kid. I want friends.' Heh. No. I want power. And I want drama. And I got one of those right now." Mattholomule said, as he pretended to be kind. "So, what are you gonna do now, Mr. President?"
"Executive action." Gus said, as he pulled the tongue from one of the many bells in Hexside, activating the fire alarm, which sprayed both him and Mattholomule with a liquid. That's when one of the detention guards came and took them to detention.
"But I didn't pull the alarm! It was Augustus! Are you even listening to me? I demand justice!" Mattholomule complained the whole way. Willow had peeked from a pillar she was behind. When Gus and Mattholomule got to detention, the detention guard threw them in.
"Luz! Carlos!" Gus said, once he saw the two.
"Gus, why did you lie to us?" Luz asked.
"Well, I-" Before Gus could explain, a hole opened up in the ground. In the hole was a bunch of teeth, eyes and strange tenticles that some had pods with students in them. Both the Noceda's screamed from it.
Back with Eda, she came out of the girl's locker room, holding a bag full of purple ghosts. She was even covered in purple ectoplasm. She then set the bag down in front of Principal Bump.
"There. The girls' changing room is ghost-free." Eda said.
"Are you ready to give up? You've barely scratched the surface." Bump said, which Eda could only turn and growl at. She then saw Skara and Bo doing magic together and hugging.
"They're just as bad as Luz. She and Carlos will love it here." Eda said, as she then turned back to Principal Bump. "All right. What's next, Bumpikins?" He took out a plunger with a smile on his face, which Eda groaned at.
Back in the detention chamber, Carlos, Luz and Gus were trying not to go in the hole.
"How is this detention? This is a death sentence!" Carlos exclaimed.
"I don't know! I've never been in detention before!" Gus exclaimed, just as frightened as the siblings.
"Welcome to my world. Back at my school, I was in detention plenty of times." Mattholomule said confidently.
"That isn't hard to believe. You're kind of a jerk." Luz said.
"Well, down in detention, this jerk is king. So, if you wanna get out, you better do exactly as I say. First, before anything else, you gotta..." Before he could continue, a worm-like creature with a human-like face came out of the hole and put one of the weird tenticle around his leg. "Already?"
Mattholomule was then pulled down into the hole, as he got put into one of the pods.
"Hey, why did you lie to us about the ban?" Carlos asked.
"I was afraid. I acted stupid." Gus admitted.
"Yes, you did!" Luz agreed with him.
"Being younger than everyone is hard. You're overlooked. Ignored. But at the HAS, I mattered. I could make sure no one would ever get left behind. I didn't want to lose that. I'm sorry." Gus apologized, as he was saying all that while getting closer to his friends. That's when Luz put a hand on his shoulder, as she was closer.
"We get it. We just wish you told us the truth." She told him.
"Now, let's find a way out of here." Carlos said. Just then, they heard screeching, as they look down to see the same creatures coming up.
"Let me make it up to you guys. I have a plan." Gus said. One of the creatures came up to get one of them, but Luz kicked it away.
"I'm in." Luz said.
"Me too. Where do we start?" Carlos asked.
"By leaving no one behind." Gus said, grabbing Luz's hand and jumping into the hole. Luz had grabbed onto Carlos as Gus did that, as they all went into the hole. They landed at the bottom, as they then found Mattholomule's pod. They took it down, as Luz used her teeth to try tearing a hole in it, but it failed.
"You know, it didn't taste as bad as I thought it would." Luz said, as she then realized somkething. "Oh, you're a witch. Do magic." she pointed to Gus.
"Oh! I'll do magic." Gus said, as he took out the paper clip. "Human magic." He straightened out one end of the paper clip, stabbing the pid with it and tore it open.
"Am I a good student?" Mattholomule asked in a trance of sorts, as Carlos picked him up.
"Wow, he's pretty light for a little guy." Carlos said. Just then, the worm creatures surround them.
"This is part of the plan, right?" Luz asked.
"Or the illusion of a plan." Gus said, as he used a spell circle to make illusions of Luz, Carlos and himself to trick the worm creatures, which was working.
"A genius and a wordsmith." Luz said, as they then start getting out of the hole, as Gus had grabbed a huge bone. They climbed to the top, defending themselves from the worm creatures.
"We're gonna have to bust down the door." Gus said, carrying the bone to the door.
"Right behind you." Carlos said, as he picked up Mattholomule and he ran with Luz to catch up. The creatures then follow them. All three friends then grab a part of the bone and start charging at the door, as the creatures kept following.
With Willow, she had made it to the detention door. She tried lifting the bar, before hearing Eda's voice.
"I washed off all the graffiti. Apologized to Miss Jenkinmeyer for steeling her teeth. Caught all the wild cerebi. Ah, we should be good." Eda said, as she and Principal Bum came from around a corner.
"It will be very exciting to have two real human exchange students." Bump said, extending a hand for a handshake, which Eda returned.
"And you won't tell the Emperor's Coven about this, will you?" Eda asked.
"No. Hexside School is safe for both you and the kids. I'm the principal, not a stooge. Consider your pupils our pupils." Bump said. They then heard a loud thud, as they looked towards the detention door. Just then, Luz, Carlos and Gus with Mattholomule crashed through the doors. The three then saw Eda with Principal Bump.
"Eda?" Luz asked.
"What are you doing here?" Carlos also asked, as he set Mattholomule on the ground.
"Guess who got you both into Hexside!" Eda excitedly said.
"What?" Both siblings said, just before the worm creatures came out of the room. That's when Bump snapped his fingers, as the worm creatures stopped.
"Sorry, Principal Bump. Sir." One of them said, as they went back into the room.
"What did you two do?" Bump angrily asked.
"Ugh, kids." Eda disappointidly said.
"To think any students of yours would be capable of doing anything, but create chaos... Eda, take your students and leave!" Bump demanded. "You are all banned from this campus!"
"Ugh. Come on, kids." Eda said.
"Wait, Principal Bump. Don't blame Luz or Carlos. I told them the ban was lifted, that we were fighting over the Human Appreciation Society. I brought Luz and Carlos in because I wanted to win. This is all my fault." Gus said, taking all the blame.
"If that's so, Augustus, would you be willing to accept their punishment as your own?" Bump asked him.
"Yes, Principal Bump, I would." Gus said.
"Huh, dang, dweebus." Eda said, impressed by Gus' actions.
"Very well. In light of that, barring anymore trouble, you two shall be enrolled in Hexside School next semester." Bump told Luz and Carlos, who cheered and high-fived each other.
"Uh, hold on, hold on." Eda said, as she got in front of the kids, while silently asking Bump to take a step back, which he obliged. "I'm only doing this because I have faith in you both. And I know you both are smart enough to fall for that One-Witch, One-Coven nonsense. You two can learn a lot from the witches here. And maybe teach them some of that Bad Girl Coven magic too."
"I didn't hear that." Bump said, walking away. He then walked up to Gus. "As for you, I would be saying detention right now, but that seems to be out of order. So, as of now, I am removing you from the Human Appreciation Society."
"Does that make me president?" Mattholomule asked from the ground.
"Impressive. Still alive. Yes, I suppose you are." Bump said, making him president of HAS.
"Yes." Matholomule weakly cheered.
"Now, with that accomplished, Eda, we have some paperwork to fill out." Bump told Eda.
"Wait! I gotta do more stuff? Ugh! You better enjoy this place, kids." Eda said, as she left to do paperwork.
"I think we will." Carlos said, as he and Luz looked to Willow and Gus.
"Wanna finish off that tour?" Gus asked.
"I can show you guys what plants not to touch in the greenhouse. And then I can let you touch them." Willow said.
"Yeah! Let's go." Luz said, as they all headed to the greenhouse, leaving Mattholomule behind.
We're now back at the owl house, as Eda, Luz and Carlos were looking through all the things Eda has done in school. There were things like puting ghosts in the girls' locker room, starting a food fight with abominations and letting two giant bugs out to tear up the place to name just a few.
"Wow. Bump was not exaggerating. You were a terrible student." Luz said.
That's when they heard a knock at the door, as Carlos got up and answered it. When he did, he saw only Emira there.
"Hey, Emira. Where's Edric?" Carlos asked.
"Oh, I used an illusion of me to get away from him. Don't get me wrong, I do love him, it's just he can be a bit too much to handle at times." Emira said.
"I know how you feel." Carlos said, glancing at Luz for referance.
"So, why did I see you and Luz at school today? I thought you two were banned?" Emira asked.
"It's a long story. Why don't you come in and I will tell you about it." Carlos said, as Emira came in and they both went to the kitchen, which Carlos told her about the whole day. Emira got excited when she heard Carlos and Luz were going to attend Hexside.
And there we go. Another chapter done. I know it isn't as long as the last two chapters, but I made sure to keep it a good length.
Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed and I will see you next chapter.
