Palisman Troubles

Hello everyone and welcome back to The Owl House: The Bro Files. This is the episode were Luz suggests that she, Willow, Gus and Carlos take Eda's staff to a Grudgby match because they missed their ride. Wonder how that will turn out for them.

Meanwhile, King using Eda in her semi-cursed form to scare children will probably play out pretty much the same, as Carlos won't really have an effect on that side story. Anyway, enough of me yapping so we can get onto the story. Enjoy.

We start off at the slayground, where we see Eda, Luz and Carlos sitting on a bench, while King was playing on the slayground equipment with other kids around. Eda and Carlos were relaxing, while Luz was worrying about King.

"What if he gets hurt? What if the kids are mean to him? My parental instincts are freaking out, man." Luz said, panicking.

"Luz, relax. You're not even at the age to be a parent yet. You're just worrying over nothing." Carlos told her.

"He's right, as King is fine. Look at him." Eda agreed, pointing to King trying to go up a slide.

"It does look like he's having fun." Luz said, then added. "I wonder what cute game he's playing."

"Stand back, cretins." King said, as we switch to him making it to the top of the slide. "Yes. Yes. This is a throne worthy of a tyrant. Bow to me, you snotty underlings. Bow."

"Okay." Two kids said, as a little boy did a handstand, while a little girl bent backwards while making a funny face.

"Yes. Appese your master." King said, trying to sound maniacal.

"This isn't for standing, it's for sliding. You try." A kid with slightly dark skin, red haid and snot coming from his nose told King from behind him. He then pushed King to go down the slide.

"Whoa, whoa. Ahh!" King exclaimed, as he starts tumbling down the slide and landed on the ground. He then got up and ran to the bench where the others were and complained to Eda. "Eda, that monster took my throne."

"You mean the baby?" Eda asked, pointing to the kid from the slide.

"No, the userper. I want you to go over there and blow him up. Kaboom." King said.

"Kaboom." The kid from the slide said, repeating that word.

"Yeah, I'm not using Owlbert to blow up a five-year-old. He's got better things to do. Like this..." Eda said, as she took Owlbert off the staff and placed him on her lap. She gave him a little scratching, which he really loved. Luz couldn't help but swoon at that.

"Aw, what a sweetie. How did you get him?" Luz asked.

"Yeah, I want to know that too." Carlos said.

"Get? I made Owlbert from the branch of an ancient tree." Eda said, as Owlbert got into her hand and then onto her shoulder. "Ah, he's my palisman, and we're bonded for life. I'd annihilate anyone who'd hurt him."

"Fine, don't help. Revenge will taste all the sweeter if they fall by my hand alone." King said, as he started laughing 'evilly.'

"Tag. You're it." The snot kid said, coming over and tagging King so hard, as he fell on his face.

"Oh, man. Here we go. King's squeak of rage." Eda said in excitement. King then starts flailing, as he let out a high-pitched squeal of rage. He then got up and ran to the kid while letting out another squeal. This made Eda and Carlos laugh.

"He's like a little tea kettle." Eda said, wiping a tear from her eye.

"I think that's the hardest he's made me laugh." Carlos said. Luz then looked over and saw a hole under Owlbert's talon.

"Hey, what's that?" She asked, as Eda noticed what she was talking about.

"That's his interlock. So he only fits under my staff. Every palisman has one." Eda started explaining, as she then noticed the world changing around her. "Luz? Carlos? Hello?"

"Eda." Called the voices of Luz and Carlos.

"Guys."

"Eda. Eda, wake up." Luz said, as Eda woke up and saw Luz, Carlos and Owlbert looking over her with worried expressions.

"Are you alright?" Carlos asked, as Luz helped Eda sit up.

"What?" Eda asked, as she then realized something. "Oh, no. The curse. We have to get home. Now." She got up and grabbed her staff, as they start walking away.

"King, we have to go." Luz called to King as they were leaving.

"Five more minutes, please." King said aloud, going for the kid.

"King."

"Ah, man. This isn't over." King told the kid.

"Okay. Let's play again real soon." The kid said, going to hug King.

"No, no. Keep those sticky hands away. No. He's touching me. Aah!" King screamed, as the kid hugged him.

We're now at the owl house, as everyone entered through the front door. Eda threw her staff at the couch, as she then plopped down on it afterwards.

"I'll go get your elixir." Luz said, as she starts getting her elixir, but was stopped by Eda.

"Don't worry about it. I'll get it myself in a bit." She said.

"Are you sure? What if you turn into your beast form on your way to get it?" Carlos asked, concerned.

"Do you need us to stay home and take care of you?" Luz asked, then let out a gasp. "I could put King in a little doctor's outfit."

"No one wants to see that." Eda coldly said.

"I do." Luz said, gushing at the thought of King in a doctor's outfit.

"Look, I know how to take care of myself. I've had this curse longer than you two have been alive." Eda said.

"So how'd you get it?" Carlos asked.

"Ugh, I don't know." Eda tiredly said.

"You don't know?" Luz asked.

"Somebody gave it to me. I don't know who and I don't care, because I'm fine, alright?" Eda said, then asked. "Anyway, don't you two have plans with Tweedledum and Twerpledee?"

"Well, we were gonna go to a grudgby match with WIllow and Gus. I think it was between Hexside and Glandus High." Carlos said.

"Since when did you two, especially Luz, care about sports?" Eda asked.

"Since I found a little something called 'Hexside pride.'" Luz said, getting up in Eda's face. "Argh, to think that Glandus, whoever they are, would dare face us."

"I just like going to school events like this. Just think of me as a big sports nerd." Carlos admited.

"Please, you play soccer." Luz teased.

"Hey, soccer is just a good a sport as any other sport out there." Carlos defended.

"Ugh, just go have fun at your sport." Eda told them, as they start to leave.

"Hugs and kisses, King." Luz said, giving King a kiss on the cheek. "Don't spend all night plotting revenge." She told him in a sing-songy voice.

"That drooly-faced heathen will know my wrath." King mocked in a sing-songy voice.

We're now at Hexside, where we see students were boarding what looked like a mixture of an old Viking-like boat and a six-legged dragon with wings. That's when Luz and Carlos arroved next to Willow and Gus. Willow and Gus were wearing a hat and long-sleeved shirt in Hexside colors, which was yellow and navy blue, and had 'Hexside' written on them.

"Ah, friends." Luz said.

"Game day roar!" Luz, Willow and Gus said, getting all pumped while doing different poses. Carlos couldn't help but to roll his eyes while chuckling at sister and his friends being goofballs.

"Happy game day, fellow... Are we Hexsidians? Hexies? Hexolios?" Luz asked, gasping at the last question.

"Actually, most people call us winners." Willow said, sounding fierce at the end.

"Sounds like this sport is pretty intense." Carlos said.

"Grudgby games are the best. The players go through these action-packed trials. And the audience gets to wave flags. Look, I practiced." Gus explained, as he took out a couple of flags, one in each hand and started doing some flag waving type of dance. Luz then looked at her clothes and noticed she wasn't wearing anything representing Hexside.

"Is it weird that I'm not wearing anything Hexside?" She asked.

"Um... It's weirder that you're wearing Glandus colors." Willow said, as she pointed to a poster that said 'Hexside vs Glandus' and the Glandus colors were the same purple and white colors Luz's cat shirt-hoodie had.

"Get ready to be creamed, Glandus nerd." Said a giant red-skinned Hexside student, as he stomped by while trying to ruffle Luz's hair with a single finger.

"Hey, I'm a Hexside nerd." Luz told him.

"You got to change out of that." Carlos told Luz, pointing at her shirt-hoodie.

"Where can I get a Hexside shirt?" Luz asked Gus and Willow.

"I know. There's a lost-and-found box in the cafeteria." Gus suggested.

"Ah, the lost-and-found. Where mouthguards go to retire." Luz said.

"That's gross, Luz." Carlos told her, as she headed in.

When she went to the lost-and-found, she opened it up and found a lot of Hexside things to dress up in. When she came back out, she was wearing a blue drinking cap with some sodas in it, a blue polo shirt with a single horizontal yellow stripe, a blue and yellow cheerleading skirt and pom-poms that were blue and yellow.

"Go, Hexside!" Luz cheered, as she jumped into the air and landed in the splits, which caused her a bit of surprise and pain. "Well, I never did that before." She said aloud to herself.

"Next time, think before doing something like that." Carlos told her. This made Luz realize something.

"Where is everyone?" She asked, realizing only Carlos, Willow and Gus were waiting outside for her. They then look up to see everyone else had left.

"Yeah, they all left when you were changing." Carlos told her.

"Oh, no. Come back!" Luz yelled to the leaving people, then turned to Carlos, Willow and Gus and asked. "Why didn't you guys board the bus?"

"As your friends, we weren't going to leave you behind." Willow told her.

"I was." Gus admitted.

"Gus." Willow whispered to him, while elbowing him.

"And as your older brother, mama would have a cow if she were to know I left you behind anywhere alone, here or in the human realm." Carlos told her.

"Can we walk to Glandus?" Luz asked.

"We'd never make it in time. Glandus is all the way out in the middle of the island." Gus explained, while doing his flag waving.

"Typical Glandus." Luz said in disgust.

"And my parents are working, otherwise I'd see if they could give us a ride on their staff." Willow said.

"A staff. Because staffs fly. Of course. I can get us a staff." Luz said.

"Wait, were are you..." Carlos was about to ask, until he realized what his sister was talking about. "Wait, were you gonna borrow Eda's staff?"

"Of course. Let's go!" Luz excitedly said, as she grabbed Willow and headed to the owl house, with Gus following behind. Carlos let out a sigh of frustration, as he knew this will be a bad idea. He then followed them.

We go back to the owl house, were King was heading up to Eda's room with a list of suggestions for revenge.

"Eda, great news. I thought of the perfect way to get revenge on that usurper." King said, entering her room and showed a page that said 'Fire?' in red crayon. "Now, don't be put off by the complicated premise. I'll break it down for you in small pieces. Huh?"

As soon as he stopped talking, he realized Eda had changed into her owl beast form, which she snarled at him and started walking towards him.

"Ah! Owl beast! Stay back!" King yelped, as the owl beast was about to get him, but she actually listened to his demands. "Did you just listen to me?" He asked, confused.

"Uh, come here. Sit." King commanded, as the owl beast obeys what he said. King then realized that her right eye didn't change to black like the other eye. "Oh, this is an interesting development. Eda's only partialy transformed, which means she's totally suggestible. Yes. Yes, this will work nicely.

"Forget fire. I've got a greater force to unleash." King said, as he then points at the owl beast. "You. You are going yo help me regain my throne. I mean, it that's okay with you, right?" The owl beast then grumbled at his question.

"I'll take that weird grumble as a yes. I'll grab a bottle of elixir in case you go rogue on me." King said, grabbing the elixer and Eda's bag. "Now, to destiny's battlefield. The playground."

"King, are you home?" Came the voice of Luz.

"What? Sit Stay." King commanded the owl beast, as he went to go see Luz. just as he got out the door and closed it, Luz walked up.

"Is Eda up?" Luz asked him.

"Who? Oh! That Eda." King chuckled nervously. "No, no. She's out like a light." Just as he said that, the owl beast growled from the other side of the door. "Oh, man. Can she snore."

"Oh, man. I wanted to ask if I could borrow her staff, but I know she needs her rest." Luz said. King then noticed Eda's staff just sitting there by the door.

"Oh, I'm sure it's fine. It's fine. Just take it." King said, grabbing the staff and giving it to Luz.

"I can't. Not without Eda's permission." Luz told him. That's when the owl beast let out a scream from behind the door.

"Well, there's your permission. Off you go." King said, shooing away Luz.

"I really owe Gus, willow and Carlos one. And it's just for the afternoon. I'm sure Eda wouldn't mind." Luz said, after thinking it over for a bit.

"Not out generous, kindhearted Eda. Big heart on her." King said.

"I'll be back soon." Luz said, as she started to leave.

"Close call." King said.

"What?" Luz said, as she turned back.

"Nothing." King told her.

"Oh, okay." Luz said, as she left for real.

"Close call." King silently said, as he then went back into Eda's room. "And now revenge. Right, Owl Eda?" We see Owl Eda holding a chair, as she started chewing on it. "I'm feeling confident about this plan."

We go outside the owl house, as Gus, Willow and Carlos were waiting on Luz. Luz then comes out the front door.

"To Glandus High." Luz said, as Owlbert let out a hoot. "Oh, sorry, Owlbert. It's okay. We're just on our way to help some friends." She motioned to Carlos, Willow and Gus, as Willow and Gus were amazed to see Owlbert. "Who's ready to fly air Luz?"

Luz got on the staff, as Gus sat behind her, followed by Willow and lastly Carlos.

"Feel the power-to-weight ratio." Willow said, admiring that.

"Boys, prepare to fly." Gus told his flags.

"I can't believe Eda allowed you to borrow her staff. I thought she'd put up more of a fight." Carlos said.

"Well, it was easy. Next stop, Glandus High. Let's go." Luz said, as Owlbert lifted off into the air. "Step on it, Owlbert." Luz slapped the side of the staff, as Owlbert let out a small screech and dashed forward, making everyone hold on while screaming.

They went through the forest, as they kept bumping into trees. They were heading for a big tree, as they were going too fast and didn't have enough time to stop. They crashed into the tree, as Carlos fell in a bush, which Willow landed on him. Gus landed next to them, as Luz was caught by a branch, but struggled free and landed on her butt.

Owlbert had suffered the worse, as he fell on his head, which a big crack formed on it. He noticed it, as he hoots in pain.

"Is everyone alright?" Carlos asked, which everyone gave a mumbled groan.

"Sorry for landing on you, Carlos." Willow apologized.

"It's alright, Willow. It wasn't your fault." Carlos told her.

"Huh?" Luz asked, as she noticed Owlbert and the condition he was in. Owlbert then detatched himself from the staff and flew off deeper into the woods. "Oh, no, no, no. Owlbert, come back!" Luz called, but he kept flying off.

"I knew it wasn't a good idea to take him. None of us are experienced to fly a staff yet." Carlos said. "We have to go get Owlbert before Eda kills us."

"Yeah, you're right. Owlbert." Luz called for him, as she went chasing after him. Carlos, Willow and Gus followed her to get Owlbert. Owlbert had flew into the darkness of entangled trees, as everyone stopped outside to catch their breaths.

"Man, humans can run. Must be their dorsal fins." Gus said.

"Gus, I really think you are describing mermaids and mermen." Carlos said, as this is the second time he mentioned something merpeople would have, and not humans.

"He went through those trees. Come on." Luz said, as she tried going forward. Willow grabbed her arm, holding her back.

"We have to be careful. It's really easy to get lost in this part of the forest." Willow said.

"This is Eda's Palisman, Willow. She'll kill Carlos and I if we don't get him back. Let's go." Luz said, leading the way in, as everyone followed. Once inside, there was a bunch of crunching at their feet as they were walking.

"Wow! I keep stepping on a bunch of crunchy twigs." Willow said.

"Those are bones, Willow." Carlos told her, looking down at what they were stepping on.

"Not if I never look down." Willow said, not looking to the ground. That's when a shadowy figure passed them, startling them.

"This isn't any kind of forest I'm used to." Luz said.

"That's because the forests back home aren't as creepy as this one." Carlos said.

"I think it's because this isn't a forest." Willow said, making everyone look ahead of them. What came out of the shadows were the three bat babies that Eda had babysat not that long ago. "It's a nest."

"Hey, I remember you. You're the Bat Queen's babies." Luz said, remembering them.

"Yeah, you're right." Carlos agreed, as the babies then let out a screech.

"Wait. The Bat Queen?" Gus asked.

"I think I'd rather take my chances with Eda." Willow said, as she and Gus got their hair stuck in cobwebs.

"We're looking for a little owl and..." Luz started, pointing to the top of the staff, until she spots Owlbert. "There he is." Owlbert shrinks back into the shadows, not wanting to be approached.

"Owlbert, thank goodness you're okay. Come here, buddy. Time to go home." Carlos said. Before he could get any closer, a clawed foot came out of the shadows, followed by the Bat Queen herself. Everyone gasped at her appearence from the shadows. Bat Queen then came closer to the group.

"Hello, small humans." Bat Queen said, as she remembered Luz and Carlos from Eda's house.

Back at the slayground, we see the children playing. The little girl from before was building a sandcastle in the sandbox, as heavy footsteps then made it fall apart.

"Ahem." Said a voice, as the little girl looked up to see King riding on the back of the semi-cursed Eda. He wore a box with armor drawn on it and was carrying a red flag on a pole with his face on it.

"Listen carefully. You all have two choices. Grovel or..." Before King could finish, Eda let out a loud screech and all the kids ran away screaming. "Good enough. Run. Despair. Your time has ended. Mine begins." The owl beast took King to the kid he didn't like, as the last part was directed to the kid.

The kid whimpered in fear as they approached and he then slid down the slide crying when they got to him. "Not so tough now, you spongy hatchlings. I will eat you." King said, as the owl beast let him down and he climbed up the slide.

"All who stood in my way are gone. I declare myself despotic ruler of this land. Nothing can stop the almighty..." King was about to continue, until he heard a chomping noise. He looked down and saw that the owl beast took a huge bite out of the slide.

"Hey. Whoa, whoa. No eating the throne." King told the owl beast, as she then looked at it with drool coming from her lip. " No." He said, as the owl beast then took another bite from the slide.

"Stop that." King whinned.

Back at the lair of the Bat Queen, the three teens and preeteen were now standing in front of the Bat Queen herself.

"It's the..."

"Bat Queen. I know." Luz finished Willow's sentence, then added. "We kinda babysat her kids once."

"Actually, Eda and King babysat them while we were out, remember?" Carlos reminded her.

"Right. Anyway, I got this." Luz said, as she then looked to the Bat Queen. "Heya, BQ. My, your hair is looking greasy. And your kids, they're as hidious as ever." This made Carlos facepalm from what she said.

"You know, that could've gone worse." Gus optimistically said, as the Bat Queen glared down at Luz.

"Heh. So, Owlbert ran away and I need to get him back. I'm just gonna grab him and we'll be on our way." Luz said, as she starts heading for Owlbert, but the Bat Queen used one of her big talons to stop her in her place.

"To be careless with a staff, it's very serious. I protect him." The Bat Queen said.

"And thank you for that, but he belongs to Eda the Owl Lady. And you owe her a favor, remember?" Luz asked, taking the talon away from her.

"Owl Lady is careless. Her staff left her sight. Taken by humans who steals, hurts, frightens." Bat Queen said, moving closer to the group.

"Huh?" Luz asked, confused.

"He told me all!" Bat Queen exclaimed, as her and Owlbert's eye's glowed a yellow color.

"Whoa, whoa. I was against taking the staff. It was her idea to take it." Carlos said, pointing to Luz.

"Carlos!" Luz exclaimed. She then turned to Owlbert. "Owlbert, I never meant to hurt you. Please trust me." This made Owlbert look at her, as he then flew to the top of the Bat Queen's head. Their eyes then glowed briefly again.

"Trust must be earned..." Bat Queen started, as she flew to a huge stump. "By trials!" She yelled, opening her wings and fire erupted from three smaller stumps.

"Trials?" Gus asked, getting excited.

"Luz, the Bat Queen is well-known for her impossible trials. I never heard anyone winning against her." Willow said.

"But I have to get Owlbert back." Luz told Willow, as she then looked to the Bat Queen. "I accept your challenge."

"And we'll be right there with you." Willow told her friend.

"Let the flags rise you up." Gus agreed.

"What they said." Carlos said. That's when the Bat Queen used magic to bound up Willow, Gus and Carlos to their necks in cobwebs, though Gus still had his flags out of the webbing.

"What?" Gus and Willow complained.

"No helpsies. Now, let the trials begin." Bat Queen said, starting the trials. "Milk the spider demon."

"Que dices ahora?" Carlos asked in Spanish, as a giant four-legged spider with cow horns and udders while wearing a bell around its neck came out.

Luz was holding a bucket and shutters in disgust at the utters, as she then looks back at Owlbert and gained a determined look on her face.

"All right. Come here, pal. Let's do this." Luz said, heading for the spider demon's udders. The spider demon let out a squeal while going on its hind legs, as it then starts running around.

"If you run, you'll just make this harder for yourself." Luz said, chasing after the spider demon. She then completed the first trial, as the first stump flame went out.

"Remove bees' nest." Bat Queen said for the next trial.

"This is starting to sound more like chores than trials." Carlos said, as Luz climbed the tree to get the bees' nest. Once she got there, the nest turned into a giant bee with bat wings.

"Whoa!" Luz exclaimed, as she fell out of the tree in surprise. She then started running from the bee in fright. While Luz was doing her trials, Gus was trying to use his flags to break free.

"Come on. Almost got it." He said, as he set himself free. "I am free, Bat Queen. You will rue the day you tried to trap... Ah." Gus said, as Bat Queen used her magic to entangle him back in the webbing, but hanging in a tree this time. His arms and legs were still free though.

"Give babies a bath." Bat Queen demanded, as the second flame went out, which mean Luz completed the second trial. Luz then was giving the babies a bath, as they were struggling with her.

"Yeah, these are definately chores." Carlos said.

"Go, Luz." Willow cheered.

"Luz, we're here if you need us." Gus said, still hanging there.

"Yeah. Cut us free. We can get Eda." Willow suggested.

"No. I was selfish and I hurt Owlbert. I need to do this alone so he knows I care about him." Luz said, as she finished cleaning the babies. Luz couldn't help but gush when they were clean. The babies the shook the water off and screeched at Luz.

Back with King, Owl Eda was eating up a swing while King was trying to command her.

"No, no. Bad Eda. You are my beast and I control you. Hey." King said, kicking Owl Eda. This was a bad move, as Owl Eda turned to him and started growling at him, making him back up in fear.

"What was I thinking? I'm such a fool. I'm such a... Genius!" King exclaimed, as he felt the bag he brought and saw the elixir, which he grabbed. He threw it in Owl Eda's mouth when she screeched, as she swallowed the whole bottle, but spat the cork out.

"Great. Now, change back Eda." King demanded, but it wasn't working as Owl Eda was still growling at him. "Any time now. Just magically transform. Aw, nuts." He said, as he hid in the 'armor' he wore as Owl Eda slashed at it and ripped it to pieces.

King tried running away, but he got his foot entangled on one of the ropes for the jungle jim, as Owl Eda starts coming for him. Suddenly, an alarm started going off, as Owl Eda stopped in her tracks. We look over and see the Animal Control coming, as it consisted of the demon catchers from the time of the moon conjuring.

"Ugh, this is so embarrassing." The female demon hunter said.

"Hey, hey. This job is all we have right now. So I want to see happy faces. Okay? Let's roll out." The demon hunter leader said, as they head towards the slayground.

"Animal control." King said, as he saw them enter.

"Matches the description the parents called in. Bag it." The leader ordered.

"No, no, no." King begged, as Owl Eda went after the animal control. Once she got close enough, Tom and the female hunter used their magic to make a green magic net that encircled Owl Eda and captured her. The leader then subdued her and magically levitated her to the back of their vehicle.

"Eda!" King called out, once they put her in their vehicle. He tries getting free, only to hang upside down by his ankle. "Awesome. Fantastic."

Back with the Bat Queen, Luz stands in front of her, as the last flame went out. This meant she was done with her trials.

"Yes, I am free again." Gus said, landing on his hands. His victory was cut short when the Bat Queen entangled him again once he landed, meaning he couldn't escape this time.

"He should've just given up." Carlos said, mentally slapping himself for Gus not seeing that coming.

"Okay, Bat Queen. That's the last one. I've done all your chores, and proved my dedication to Owlbert." Luz told the Bat Queen.

"Yeah, that means you can let us go too." Carlos said. Luz then was getting closer to Owlbert.

"I'm so sorry for the pain I caused you, Owlbert. I promise to be more careful. Will you come back home with me?" Luz asked him. Owlbert gave Luz a nod of approval, as he then flew down to her feet. Suddenly, Bat Queen used her magic to entangle Owlbert in webs too.

"Hey, what gives? Luz did all your stupid trials, so let Owlbert go!" Carlos exclaimed.

"No. More trials. Last trial. She must face me." Bat Queen said, as a plume of fire erupted behind her.

"What?" Luz asked in a panic, as the Bat Queen lunged towards her. Luz got out of the way, as the Bat Queen had landed by Owlbert.

"You will never get him back." Bat Queen told Luz, as she landed on the ground.

"Luz, get us out. We can help." Willow said.

"She's right. You need all the help you can get." Carlos agreed, as Gus was mumbling from his webbing. Luz ran over and got Carlos free, as he then got Gus and Willow free once he was freed.

"Look out." Willow warned, as the bat babies were in front of them.

"I will hold them off with my flags." Gus said, lifting his flags in the air. The babies then started attacking Gus and Willow, as Carlos and Luz got out of the way. "No. This was a bad plan."

"Sometimes I wonder about that kid." Carlos said, once he and Luz were out of the way.

"Run!" Luz said, as she and Carlos start running from the Bat Queen, who was still chasing them. They both went through a space the Bat Queen was too big to fit through. That wasn't a problem, as Bat Queen broke it away and continued chasing them.

Owlbert saw what was happening, as he struggled to break free from the webbing. He succeeded, pulling a wing out.

"I won't let you imprison Owlbert." Luz said, swinging the staff to keep the Bat Queen away. Luz then tripped, making Carlos stop in his tracks.

"Luz!" He exclaimed. He went to go try and help, but the Bat Queen was closing in fast, which Luz used the staff to block the talons of the Bat Queen. Luz then looked over and saw a interlock on the bottom of the Bat Queen's right talon.

"Is that an interlock?" Luz asked loudly. Luz then pushed the Bat Queen off her with her legs. "Bat Queen, you used to be on a staff, didn't you? You were a palisman." This made the Bat Queen gasp, as her secret was out.

"Wait, she's a palisman?" Carlos asked, dumbfounded. He walked up to Luz.

Back with King, he was trying to get himself free. He succeeded and fell to the ground.

"Your pride has destroyed you." Said a voice from behind King, as we turn to see the snot-nosed kid from before standing behind King. "The throne belongs to me now."

"Over my dead body." King angrily told the kid. That's when Owl Eda let out a loud screech from the back of the vehicle. "Eda!"

"Yes, leave and forfeit your reign." The kid said.

"Well, the forfeit I shall." King said, as he then ran to go help Eda. He ran out of the slayground, as he saw the Animal Control was stopped by a giant snail as a train on train tracks. He ran there and climbed in without the Animal Control noticing.

"You in there, Eda?" King asked, as Owl Eda tried eating him. "Eda, I'm sorry. I used you for your strength 'cause I felt weak. I'm your friend. If only there was some way to remind you who I am." King then remembered something.

"Wait a sec. Eda loves my rage squeal. Like this..." King said, as he then starts thrashing about, which he then does his rage squeal. This was working, as Owl Eda starts laughing.

"So tiny. So angry." Came the voice of Eda, as she then transformed from her owl beast form back to her normal self.

"Eda, you're back." King excitedly said, running to hug her, as she hugged him back.

"What happened?" Eda asked once the hug was over.

"Okay, so I went into your room and you were the beast. And then I woke up here, one second before you did." King said, as he started to explain, but changed the story at the end.

"Uh-huh. I'll deal with you later. But for now, you wanna bounce?" Eda asked.

"Yes, please." King said. Eda blasted the back apart and ignored the animal control leader when he asked where the Owl Beast was.

Back in the lair of the Bat Queen, Luz and Carlos were facing the Bat Queen, as they realized she used to be a palisman.

"You were once a palisman, weren't you?" Luz asked. This made the Bat Queen look at the interlock on her talon, then looked away in shame.

"Yes, I was part of a grand staff. A staff made for a giant. But I was broken, discarded." Bat Queen explained.

"So that's why you're so protective of Owlbert." Carlos said.

"I protect all." Bat Queen said, her eyes glowing. Carlos and Luz looked up, as there were a bunch of glowing eyes from various different palisman in the trees. "I made home in forest. I'm here to take the lost. The forgotten."

"We understand. But Owlbert is not forgotten. He has someone at home who loves him very much." Luz said.

"He will not go back with you." Bat Queen said, walking away.

"That's not your decision to make." Carlos told her.

"I won't let him." Bat Queen said, starting to rush at the siblings again. They cower, prepared for the attack, until they heard flapping and looked to see Owlbert stopped Bat Queen in her tracks. Owlbert and Bat Queen's eyes then started glowing.

"You... You care for them." Bat Queen said, to which Owlbert nodded when his eyes stopped glowing. Owlbert then went over to Luz and Carlos, as Luz picked him up and he rubbed her cheek while purring.

"I see. Go. And take your friends." Bat Queen said, as Gus and Willow come running up with the babies attatched to them. The Bat Queen whistled, as the babies got off them and flew back to her.

"I don't think I'll ever be clean again." Gus said, as he had some drool on his head and sleeve. Owlbert then went to get the rest of the staff, as he handed it to Luz.

"Bat Queen, do you know what happened to your owner?" Luz asked.

"It has been thousands of years. I have forgotten." Bat Queen sadly said.

"Wow, who knew palisman's could live such long lives." Carlos said, surprised how long the Bat Queen has lived.

"If you ever wnat to search for the truth, I'll help you." Luz offered.

"Thank you." Bat Queen said, as she and her kids then flew off into the clouds.

"I can't believe you took on the Bat Queen." Willow excitedly said, hugging Luz.

"And we're not dead." Gus cheered.

"Thank you for helping me get Owlbert back. I'm sorry we missed the game." Luz apologized.

"Are you kidding? That was better than any grudgby match. There were action-packed trials. I got to do my flag wave and I'm slightly traumatized. Hooray." Gus excitedly said.

"Sometimes, I wonder what's going on in that brain of yours, Gus." Carlos said with a chuckle.

"Let's get this little guy home." Luz said with a chuckle, refering to Owlbert.

We're now back at the owl house, where Luz and Carlos made it before King and Eda. Luz was on the couch with Owlbert, as she put a bandaid on the crack on his head.

"And now you're a part of the Boo-Boo buddy club." Luz said, which Owlbert happily hooted about.

"Owlbert, why are you off the staff?" Eda asked, as she and King walked through the front door. Owlbert gave her a hoot, as he flew to Eda and landed on her shoulder. "Luz and Carlos took you to get ice cream? Aww, that's a terrible lie.

"Well, lucky for you three, I don't care right now. I'm going to take a nap." Eda said, heading up to her room.

"I'll be at the playground." King said, going back to the playground. Owlbert then flies to Luz and lands on her shoulder.

"We'll keep this one to ourselves, shall we?" Luz asked, as Owlbert purred and rubbed against Luz's cheek

Up with Eda in her room, she starts coughing, as she coughed up the elixir bottle from earlier.

"The elixir. It isn't working on the curse anymore. This is bad." She said, as she then coughed up the swing she ate as Owl Eda. "When did I eat a swing?"

And there's where we'll end it off. Like I said, the side story with King and Eda wouldn't really change because of Carlos in this story. I would've also added the little moment with the Bat Queen at the end, but this chapter is already so long.

Anyways, next chapter will be the episode where King and Luz try making a story, which King takes all the credit. Eda and Lilith will still have their little side story, as Carlos will have his own side story too, which you will see next chapter.

Lastly, I will take a break from this for a bit so I can work for a bit on my other stories. Don't worry, I will be back on this story to post more chapters soon, I just need to work on other stories. Anyways, see ya soon.
