I leaned back towards the wall, while waiting for Lex on Saturday noon. I had a copy of Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone open and half- finished on my crossed legs, one hand holding it open the other by turns turning the page in the books but most of the time scratching Ariel's stomach, she- as usual laid with her legs in the air on my bed. I heard someone ring the doorbell, and I was home alone for the moment so I got the crutches and slowly made my way out of the room.

I had days when it was harder to walk than others- probably just something that was in my brain- or something. Today was one of those days and of course- damn threshold. I stumbled over the threshold and then fell to the floor with a bang.

"Damn it." I fizzled, and took support against a table in the hallway trying to get myself up- of course then pulling it down with me and falling again. "Damn it." I fizzled again and tried to shout loud enough for Lex- who was waiting for anyone to come and open the door for her- but she didn't hear me. I prayed to God that I hadn't left my phone in my room before I pulled up the phone of my pocket and searched through my contacts for Lex's number, and then the phone to my ear and let it call.

"Hey Leah… I'm just packing my things I'll be there in a little while" Hold on- so Lex wasn't the one standing outside the door? Oh my Lord… I moaned and laid my forehead onto the floor. "What did you say?" I raised onto my elbows again stroking some tresses of my fringe out of my eyes.

"Lex… there is someone standing outside my door. I thought it was you, I went to open the door, fell and now I can't get up from the floor. Whoever is standing there cannot hear me, the rest of my family are away somewhere for a couple of hours and they have locked the door." I stopped talking. "Think you can help me?"

"Of course, I'm just packing my last few things. I'll check if mum or dad can drive me to get to you faster and if not I swear I will run all the way…. But how do I get in if the door's locked?" I told her there was a key hidden under the doormat. "Okay… Mum…" she asked Carole something I couldn't hear. "Mum can drive me we'll be there in five. I need to hang up to pack the last few things." I hung up and without results- tried to get up again until I gave up and started pulling my fingers towards some cracks in the wooden floor with waiting for Lex and Carole.

After what felt like hours finally I heard footsteps outside and the someone unlocking the door- I guessed it was Lex. "Hallelujah" I joked when Lex and Carole came in. Then answered Carole's all questions about if I was hurt, how had I fallen and a bunch of other things before I raised on my elbows and sternly looked her in the eyes. "I'm fine. I just tripped on the threshold I'm fine I just need some help up."

Carole smiled and then both she and Lex came over and helped me up and then finally I stood on my two feet again. Lex reached me the crutches- and of course, right then my cellphone called. I sighed, moved both of the crutches to one hand and leaned against them and then pulled it up. "Ice mum" read over the screen so I pressed to take it and put it to my ear.

"We've got the house to ourselves to tomorrow." I told Lex. "Apparently my grandparents have talked my parents and Jonah into staying there until then. Lex nodded and just smiled- but Carole frowned. And then asked if we'd rather go home to them instead, or if we wanted her to stay. I shook my head. "No thanks, but we'll have to go to the grocery store- it's only a ten minute walk- because if not we won't have anything to eat today. But we should probably make up a list of what we need first."

"Okay, bye mum." I raised my hand in a wave and nodded goodbye to Carole when she walked towards the door. "Okay… so then it's just us." Lex said. I bit my lip- then showed her into Jonah's room where she placed her backpack on the floor and then we sat down in my room- I cross- legged on my bed with a notebook on my lap and pencil in my hand.

"I have no idea what we are supposed to do at this but because dad isn't home we will need some food." I began. "He was supposed to make pizza, So maybe we could buy these frozen pizzas to just put in the oven and heat up." Lex nodded so I wrote that on the list. "Drinks, snacks." I looked up at Lex. "Can you think of anything we can do?"

"Not really." Lex answered scratching Ariel's stomach. "Maybe there'll be some in those?!" She pointed to a pile of magazines. I reached for them- there was one of them with several pages about what to do with girly sleepovers, at last I found it on the bottom and we started riffling. "There are loads of good tips but to most of them you'd need to be three people or more." Lex sighed after a while. "Maybe we should invite someone else…" she smirked.

"I'm not so sure my parents would like that." Now it was my time to smirk. "I don't think they'd love me anymore if I brought someone else over here without their knowledge and…" suddenly it hit me who I was just talking to. "Oh Lex I'm so, so sorry… it was just a joke I wasn't thinking" I tried babbling an excuse for my bad joke about that mum and dad maybe wouldn't love me anymore.

"It's alright." Lex just smiled. "You don't have to explain it… and if you want to pull jokes like that it's perfectly fine with me." I smiled again and continued riffling, at last we gave up with the paper and I lifted my laptop from my desk and Googled. Almost immediately finding a page with loads and loads of different tips on what to do during a sleepover. But just as I got it up my dad called.

"He's got about a hundred dollars laying in a box on the bench in the hallway. We can take those for when we go shopping for the things we need… Hey you know what we should do? We should buy like eight different pizzas and have a pizza- party. Eat pizza for every meal until you have to go home."

We found a few things to do that sounded fun, and I came up with the idea to eat from the "secret" box of chocolate biscuits my mum kept in her wardrobe. Then I got into my wheelchair- I didn't want to take a risk with walking all the way to the store when I had already fallen once today and I wheeled towards the store with Lex walking next to me.

At last we came home with each bag- we'd had to leave Ariel at home because I didn't want to bring her and take a risk with leaving her alone outside the store. This was the first time I had left her alone for a longer amount of time- yet only about an hour- but when we came home Ariel laid inside the door, she was sleeping deeply and barely looked up when we came in with the bags. "Good girl" I patted her and laid down two pieces of dog snacks by her.

"So why won't your parents let you watch horror movies?" Lex asked me when she pulled up three horror movies we had bought for tonight from her bag. I shrugged, then explained that Jonah's attacks could be triggered by sudden fear or chock- but it probably also had to do with the fact that maybe they wanted me to sleep at night. However- we had bought three horror movies at the store and later tonight- after dark it would be time to watch them.

For now- we got the ingredients for a facemask we had found in a paper- with banana, rolled oats and honey so we started mixing them together. "You ready then?" I asked and took a bit of it on my hand. Lex laid her head backwards and I started putting it towards her face. And it wasn't long until she started laughing. "Hey. Stop that." I said. "You're not making it any easier… okay your turn I turned around, laid half down and Lex sat up. "You look like some kind of monster." I told her. She only laughed even worse.

"Hey… I heard Teeghan say something about that that Aaron Jacoby- the guy who saved her when she fell from that bridge and his family are moving in with them this weekend… I wonder how they're doing."

Teeghan POV

Early afternoon at last the truck with the Jacoby's all stuff and then- the Jacoby's pulled up on our driveway. I stood in the window in the hallway and looked out. I was going to try to make a good impression so instead of dressing in sweatpants and dad's T- shirt- like most other Sundays I stood in skinny jeans and a hoodie- it was nice- yet comfortable and it would be good for a first impression- considering Aaron Jacoby was the only one of these I had met before and we both knew those circumstances.

Dad who stood right behind me kept his hand on my shoulder and we walked outside, and I could feel my heart beating in my ears. Out from the car came first Aaron- then his wife Molly- dad had told me all of their names- then Alex- the six year old and the three year old twins- Charlie and Liz.

"You ready?" Dad asked me. I nodded slightly and looked up at him, he just smiled softly at me. He really had gotten better at being a dad since I almost died. Every other night we'd watch a movie or a TV- show just him and I. No other people in the whole house just him and I together- we had already watched home alone three about a hundred times already but that was alright for me. I could speak to him when I wanted to without getting interrupted by his job and he wouldn't work all day- so he really had gotten better.

"Come on then." Dad moved his hand from my shoulder to my back and gently pushed me forward to meet the Jacoby's. "So, Teeah, this is Aaron, Molly, Alex and Liz and Charlie can't tell you who is who. Everyone as you already know I'm George and this is my daughter Teeghan."

"That's a weird name." Alex said, I just smiled and let hear a short laugh. While his dad scolded him- with using his full name- Alexander- which apparently meant that he was being very, very serious. I dreamed away for a moment- we lived on top of a hill and I could look down on the blocks down below. And I didn't look forward again until one of the twins stood and tugged my shirt.

"I'm Charlie, and I think Teeghan's a wonderful name!"

Leah POV

Let's just say our attempt with facemasks was pretty failed, we could relax for about five minutes and then we were bored. We didn't wash it off for yet another while- and used some cheap hair gel we had bought, water and comps to make the craziest hairdos. It didn't really mean anything once we had washed it all off but we did get some good photos and loads and loads of great laughs- and Ariel standing by us barking at us like crazy

The rest of the day was filled with karaoke, nail polish, walks with Ariel, talks with Ariel, playing with Ariel, prank- calling, Would you rather, competition with who could get in most marshmallows in her mouth at once and at last a late dinner with all the pizzas. "Oh I'm so full" Lex laid down with her head against the kitchen table. "I can't eat a bit more- but it's dark now so it should be time for horror movies." I nodded.

"Will you still be full if I say that I'm gonna get those biscuits now?"

"No-oh. There are two stomachs- one for food and one for biscuits- I can eat how many biscuits I want. I'll clean up here." I walked out in mum's and dad's bedroom and got the box with mum's biscuits from the shelf in the wardrobe and then walked to get the movie put on.

It had been about five minutes into the movie when I started regretting choosing to watch a horror movie- maybe I should just listen to mum and dad. We watched the movie on my laptop which stood on the desk chair and we both sat on my bed. "AAAH" I jumped and screamed loudly with a sound. "Oh my God… it was just Jonah sending me a message." I got up Jonah's message on my phone and answered his question about what we were doing (watching horror movies but don't tell mum and dad) then I turned my phone off so I wouldn't get a scare like that once again and went back to watching the movie.

There was a scene with the girl in the movie being home alone, then there was a knock on the door- and when she went to get it she was – of course- murdered by a monster outside the door. And then- there was a knock on the door of the house. I screamed and out of reflex I grabbed Lex's shirt.

"Don't grab me like that- go get it." Lex said. But I could tell she was at least as afraid as me. I heard myself ask with a shaky voice- why me. "Hey… did we lock the door after coming home from the store?" I shook my head. And just as I'd done that we both heard the door open and footsteps coming down the hallway.

"Hello…" We heard a voice. One hoarse- spooky voice. I whimpered and grabbed Lex harder, she did the same on me. "Gi- irls where are you?" Then the door to my door open and when a monster- with wildly wide- open eyes and mouth and greenish skin came in both I and Lex screamed at the top of our lungs.

Hehehe, the girls are so going to regret they watched those movies.
