A day late on the Christmas story, but better late than never! This one is just very chill, very fluffy. I had a super mellow holiday so I think it translated to this story. Enjoy!

Happy Homey Holidays

"You having fun rolling around, silly little boy?"

Aiden giggled and flipped over from his back onto his stomach, grinning at his grandmother as he did so. Delia cooed and leaned over to kiss the boy's forehead, causing him to laugh again.

"That's like his favorite thing to do now," Ash chuckled, watching from the couch. "He just rolls around like a Voltorb all day long!"

"You were the same way as a baby," Delia giggled at the memory. "Always on the move! It's no surprise Aiden's followed in your footsteps."

Aiden gurgled and began crawling towards his grandmother, his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth. Grinning, Delia knelt down and held her arms out towards the boy, grabbing hold of him once he got close enough and standing up with him in her grasp.

"Isn't that right?" Delia cooed to the baby, watching as he grabbed at the back of her hand. "You're just like Daddy?"

Aiden mumbled to himself, still busy trying to tug at his grandmother's fingers.

"You're naughty like him too," Delia giggled, kissing her grandson's temple. "Always trying to get into different kinds of trouble!"

"Hard to argue with that," Ash begrudgingly admitted while Pikachu snickered beside him. "Our tree at home looks like a joke because we had to move all the ornaments towards the top. Aiden kept reaching for them…I guess he thought they were toys."

"Oh, well, of course!" Delia exclaimed. "All those shiny, sparkly dangling figures. How could a curious little boy resist?"

"Ga!" Aiden shrieked, finally letting go of his grandmother's hand and beaming at her. Delia gasped playfully, which made her grandson laugh all over again.

"Oh no, please don't tell me he was messing around with your tree, too!"

Misty looked panicked as she hurried down the stairs, carrying Michelle on her hip.

Delia just smiled and shook her head. "No, he wasn't! Ash was just telling me how he likes to mess around with yours, though."

Misty sighed laughingly. "Yes, he does. Anything to cause mischief!"

"Mama!" Aiden blurted, reaching out towards his mother.

"What is it, baby?" Misty cooed, taking the boy in her free arm. "You don't like us telling the truth?"

Aiden shook his head with a whine, and the adults laughed.

"You're so funny, champ!" Ash chuckled. "Even though I'm pretty sure you have no idea what we're really saying."

"Good guess," Misty remarked with a smirk, taking a seat on the couch beside her husband and sitting the twins on her lap before slumping back. "Ugh, I'm exhausted and the holiday is only half over."

"Do you have the kids' presents all wrapped?" Delia inquired, taking her own seat in the nearby armchair.

"No," Misty groaned. "We ran out of time. I think I'll just leave it alone. They're only a year old, after all. I don't think it'll really make a difference to them."

"If their birthday is anything to go by, it just means they'll like the wrapping paper more than the actual gift," Ash scoffed in amusement.

Delia slowly nodded her head in agreement before tepidly admitting, "Well then…I suppose it wasn't the best idea for me to wrap their Christmas Eve gifts."

Ash's eyebrows shot up. "Christmas Eve gifts?! As in multiple?!"

"No, just one for each," Delia calmly refuted. "Trust me, dear, they'll be spoiled plenty tomorrow!"

"Yeah, I wasn't worried about that," Ash sighed.

Aiden began to whine again, more fervently this time, as he tried his best to wriggle out of his mother's grasp. Michelle squeaked and turned to watch her brother struggle, purely out of curiosity. Misty tried to hold onto him at first, but soon enough gave up and allowed the boy to clamber over to his father. Ash was more than happy to take his son onto his own lap, bouncing the baby up and down to try and keep him occupied.

"I'll go get the presents now," Delia decided, getting to her feet. "While they're still awake!"

"Oh, that won't be a problem," Misty laughed dryly. Michelle tilted her head back to look at her mother, who couldn't help but to smile and rub their noses together. "Sleep seems to have become foreign to these two cuties!"

Delia's heart fluttered as she watched Misty fawn over her little daughter. She had always known Misty would make a wonderful mother; the way she'd been so gentle and loving with the baby Pokémon she'd had in the past was more than enough proof for Delia. The fact that it was her own grandchildren who got to benefit from such love, however, only made Delia even happier.

"Well, maybe there'll be a Christmas miracle tonight!" Delia crowed.

"That would be nice," Misty sighed, picking her head back up. "But I'm not holding my breath. Either way, they can definitely open up their Christmas Eve presents now!"

Delia beamed. "Let me just run up to my room to get them. I wanted to keep those gifts separate from the rest!"

She fled the living room, leaving Ash and Misty behind with their young children. As Delia left, however, Aiden began to whimper and reach out for her, causing Ash to coo sadly.

"Aw, what's wrong, buddy?" Ash murmured. "Grammy is coming right back! And with presents for you and Shelly! The first of many…"

Misty giggled and slumped against Ash's side. "Come on, she's the best grandma ever! Spoiling her grandkids is her job."

"I guess…" Ash muttered.

"Not like you're any better," Misty reminded him. "You go crazy buying them things, too."

Ash blushed at the accusation, but didn't argue back, because he knew she was right. When he said nothing in response, Misty just smirked and craned her neck up to give him a kiss on the cheek.

"Mama! Mama!"

Looking down, Misty saw Michelle flailing and reaching towards Vaporeon, who was staring back at the baby from the corner of the room.

"You see Vaporeon?" Misty asked with a giggle.

"Mama," Michelle repeated, slowly lowering her arm. Her vocabulary was obviously still limited due to her young age, but she seemed to know when to associate things with either her mother or father, and simply called them "mama" or "dada" accordingly.

"Yeah, that's Mama's Vaporeon," Misty replied. "Do you want to play with her?"

Michelle didn't say anything, but reached out towards the water type again, indicating that she did. Misty placed the baby on the floor and watched as the little one steadied herself on her hands and knees before crawling over to a cautiously watching Vaporeon.

Aiden, meanwhile, had stopped fussing over his grandmother's exit enough to notice that his sister was now inching towards their mother's Pokémon. That excited the boy, as he loved Pokémon dearly, and he instead reached his arms out in her direction. "Ah!"

"What's up?" Ash asked, inclining his head. "You want to go too?"

He put the boy down without waiting for a response, knowing that was exactly what he wanted. The twins were at an age where they seemed to enjoy sticking together most of the time; or at the very least doing the same things. Misty assumed it was because neither one wanted to feel left out, which Ash figured made sense, although he wasn't actually sure if a couple of one-year-olds were actually thinking about it the way their adult parents were.

But Aiden was quickly on the move, to which Pikachu jumped off the couch in order to follow alongside the boy and keep a watchful eye on him. Misty giggled amusedly and, with her lap now free, curled her legs up beneath her as she snuggled more tightly against Ash.

"They're so cute," Misty breezily commented.

Ash chuckled as he wrapped his arm around her back. "Of course they are; they're ours!"

Misty's smile widened. "You know, I think this Christmas is even better than last Christmas. At least this year, my exhaustion is from having fun with the twins and not because I'm recovering from actually having them."

"That's true," Ash agreed. "And all the fun stuff is really great, even if they don't understand it quite yet! They're probably more aware of it than last year, at least."

"Yeah, since last year they just slept through most of it," Misty commented. "And lately, they've wanted nothing to do with sleep!"

"And to think, we got them such cute pajamas too," Ash playfully bemoaned with an equally teasing pout.

The year before, since the twins had been unexpectedly born before Christmas, Ash and Misty hadn't bought them any Christmas pajamas. Delia, fortunately, had thought ahead and actually bought a pair for both, but it turned out that newborn clothing was too big for the premature babies. So, even though Aiden and Michelle had still been dressed in the pajamas, they were swimming in them. This year, they had pajamas that actually fit: red striped with green cuffs for Aiden, and green striped with red cuffs for Michelle.

"Well, even if they don't sleep in them, at least they look adorable," Misty laughed before pondering, "I wonder how long we'll be able to dress them in matching outfits before they start protesting?"

"I couldn't tell you, since I didn't have any siblings to dress like," Ash mused. "How long did you and your sisters dress alike?"

Misty raised an eyebrow. "Bold of you to assume we were ever dressed alike."

"Really? Even when you were a baby?"

"Not based on any photos I've seen."

Ash hummed. "Well…guess we'll just have to wait and see! But in the meantime, I say we keep dressing them like that. It's too cute not to!"

"Here we are!"

Delia appeared at the bottom of the stairs, holding two neatly wrapped gifts. As soon as Aiden heard his grandmother's voice, he let out a delighted squeal and began crawling towards her, causing Vaporeon and Pikachu to cry out in alarm.

"Gam, gam, gam!" Aiden babbled as he quickly moved in the direction of his grandmother.

"I think he's more excited to see you than his gift, Mom," Ash chuckled, regrettably untangling himself from Misty so he could stand up and take the presents from his mother. "He got pretty upset when you left before!"

"Aw, you did?" Delia cooed, reaching down to pick her grandson up. "I was coming right back, sweetheart!"

Aiden giggled happily and rested his head against his grandmother's chest, which caused Delia to light up.

"You are being so affectionate tonight!" The woman fussed, giving Aiden a hug in return. "Grammy sure does love it!"

"Should we wait until you two are done cuddling to open up the twins' gifts?" Ash asked playfully.

"No, no!" Delia quickly refuted. "We can definitely open them now!" She looked over at Misty, expecting to see Michelle, and blinked when she didn't. "Where'd that sweet little girl go?"

Wordlessly, Misty nodded towards the corner. There, Michelle was still busy with Vaporeon and Pikachu, pushing various toys towards them and giggling whenever they'd return it to her.

"Of course," Delia breathed, her eyes twinkling. "I should've known she'd be hanging out with her best friends!"

"She might be shy with other people, but she's very comfortable with Pokémon," Misty warmly observed.

"I've noticed that as well," Delia commented. "Which is why I think I got her the perfect gift!"

Ash knelt beside Michelle and found the present with her name on it, holding it out towards the baby. "Hey princess, wanna open your gift from Grammy?"

He gave the present a little shake, which caught Michelle's attention. Cooing, the little girl leaned over, patting the gift before tugging it towards her.

"I think that's a yes," Misty snickered.

Chuckling, Ash tore off some of the wrapping paper to give Michelle an access point. This proved to be a mistake, however, as the baby instantly began to fuss.

"What?" Ash breathed. "I only ripped a little bit! You can do the rest!"

Michelle continued to whimper, to which Pikachu brushed up against the baby in an attempt to soothe her. It worked, much to the mouse's delight…and Ash's as well.

"Thanks, buddy," Ash sighed. With Michelle now calm again, Ash held out the present and cooed, "here, sweetie! Open it up!"

Michelle grabbed at the gift again, this time clumsily ripping off wrapping paper in her little fists. That proved to be a lot of fun for the baby, who shrieked excitedly every time she managed to tear another chunk of paper off. Eventually, she unwrapped the whole thing and found herself swimming in shreds of wrapping paper…basically a dream come true for the one-year-old.

"Oh wow, look at this, Shelly!" Ash marveled at the gift. "It's a bunch of cute little Pokémon figures! And…you're more interested in the wrapping paper."

Ash nearly fell on his face as his daughter continued playing with the colorful scraps, waving them around in her balled-up hands.

"Sorry Delia," Misty apologized, though she had an amused smile on her face. "Michelle is going to love that gift! Just as soon as the wrapping paper is out of the equation."

"Whatever makes her happy!" Delia chirped, clearly unaffected by her granddaughter's inadvertent snub. "If she likes the wrapping paper, then I'm thrilled!"

"I'd like to say maybe we'll have better luck with Aiden, but I'm not confident," Ash chuckled, standing up and holding the other present out in front of his son. "He's another big fan of wrapping paper."

Ash repeated the same thing he'd done with Michelle by slightly tearing the wrapping paper on the gift as a start for his son. Unlike Michelle, however, Aiden didn't fuss and instead dove right into ripping off the paper, carelessly tossing each strip to the floor. He eventually got all of it off, revealing the same kind of rubber figures his sister had received, but with different Pokémon.

"Mada!" Aiden shrieked, pointing at the first toy in the box.

"Yeah, that's Charmander!" Ash laughed. "Smart boy!"

Whining, Aiden began to pull at the box, much like he'd done with his grandmother's hand earlier. Delia knew exactly what that meant and let out an amused giggle. "Guess he wants to open it up!"

"Sounds great!" Ash crowed, pulling open the box. "You know, these actually look like a lot of fun!"

Misty shook her head. "Ash, you say that about all of the twins' toys."

"And I'm almost always right," Ash boasted, playfully puffing his chest out to make Misty laugh.

Before long, Ash had managed to extrapolate the figures, and Aiden was contently playing with them on the floor. Once Michelle saw her brother playing with his toys, she'd crawled over to join him, which led to Misty opening up her own Pokémon figures as well. With the twins preoccupied, the adults were able to sit down and have a conversation, and Pikachu and Vaporeon were able to doze off in the corner. Mimey even set the two up with a cozy blanket before retreating back to the kitchen to continue cleaning.

After Ash had told a particularly funny story that got everyone laughing, Misty turned to look at the twins and realized they both appeared to be growing sleepy. Her mouth falling open, Misty leaned over and grabbed Ash's arm, causing him to jump. "Look!"

Whipping his head around towards the twins, Ash expected to find something wrong. Instead, he saw Michelle sprawling herself out on the rug, figures of Ponyta and Eevee still clutched in her little fists, and Aiden leaning against her, rubbing at his eyes.

"Yeah, it's our Christmas miracle!" Ash breathed, just as amazed as his wife.

"I told you it could happen," Delia chirped, smirking at the stunned young parents.

"You sure did," Misty giggled softly. "Maybe we should start heading out now that they're getting sleepy. The car ride back to Cerulean might just be enough to put them out for the rest of the night."

"Sounds good," Ash agreed. "That alright with you, Mom?"

"Of course!" Delia assured him. "I'll see you all again tomorrow! Besides, I still have a few more gifts to wrap."

Ash groaned. "Please don't tell me for the kids."

"Then I won't tell you."

While Ash shook his head, Misty laughed softly. "Delia, I hope you know you're the best grandmother in the world."

"That's very sweet of you, dear," Delia replied with a smile. "But really, I just love my grandbabies and want them to know. I'd give them the whole world if I could."

Misty nodded. "We know you would. And trust me, Aiden and Michelle may be young, but they know just how much you love them. And they love you back just as much!"

"Misty's right," Ash agreed, beaming at his clearly touched mother. "You really are the best, Mom! And trust me, I would know."

Delia cooed and reached over to give Ash a hug so tight it just about knocked the wind out of him. "Aw, thank you, sweetheart!" Pulling away, she asked, "so you don't mind if I spoil the twins?"

Ash smirked. "I wish I could say I do, but Misty also has a point that I'm just as bad. So I guess I can just say I got it from you!"

I pretty much envisioned those little Pokémon figures Delia gave the twins as the Fisher Price ones almost everyone has a little kid. You know, those big, chunky rubber ones. Not the little plastic choking hazards, lol.
