6pm Cabo
"You do not believe that." Santana laughed as she watched Brittany double check her make up in the mirror. "No fuckin way, B." She added.
"Seriously." Brittany nodded with a smile. "Malcolm is totally crushing on Anthony, but tries to deny it. I have amazing gaydar, you know that." She nodded that she was ready and looked over Santana's long flowing yellow and red dress. "You look so beautiful." She gushed at her wife.
Santana's dress came to her feet, only her pedicured toes in the red sandals she was wearing visible, she had her hair swept to the side, her natural curls on display since she didn't pack a flat iron.
"Thank you." Santana winked, leaning up and kissing Brittany. "You look good yourself, baby. Is this a new dress?" She asked, grabbing Brittany's hand and spinning her wife around.
"Yes." Brittany blushed, glancing down at her bright green dress that hung just above her knee. "I bought it when Tay and I went to the mall last week, she picked it out actually."
Santana grabbed her purse and held the door open for Brittany to leave their suite. "She has great taste." She laughed as they left the suite. They made their way to the beach to walk down to the fire show they had tickets for, hand in hand. "So you think Malcolm and Anthony have something going on?" Santana asked with a smile. "Seriously."
Brittany nodded. "If I could record our meetings you would totally see, Santana. The type of tension between those two in the boardroom is 100 percent sexually frustrated."
Santana leaned into Brittany as she laughed loudly. "Remember when we had 10,000 percent sexual tension when we were divorced. I would leave your house after dropping Tay off and take a long cold shower." She blushed.
"I did the same." Brittany smiled. "You would look gorgeous, all relaxed in your scrubs, your hair flowing around face, no makeup..." She reminisced.
Santana blushed. "Well, we don't have that problem anymore."
"Not at all, I can roll over and you're there now, which is the best feeling ever."
"Same for me." Santana nodded. she looked out at the water, a feeling of contentment covering her before speaking again. "We are going to Disney for spring break with the girls right?"
"Mmmmhmmmmm, surprise trip for them, well for Taylor, Skylar won't ask about it every day." Brittany laughed.
"I can't wait, we need a nice family vacation. I was thinking, maybe we can surprise our moms for Mother's Day too, and go to Lima." Santana suggested.
"They would love that."
"Yes they would." Brittany smiled. "Spend the weekend with them, and fly home Sunday night?"
"Yep, sounds perfect."
"Okay, we can look up flights soon and get everything booked and squared away. I need to pay some bills when I get back anyways, so I can do it then." Brittany told her, making a mental note for herself.
"What's due next week?" Santana asked. "I know the mortgage is, but what else?"
"My car payment, and the car insurance." Brittany told her off the top of her head. "I have everything marked on my calendar at home, I feel like I'm missing something that I can't think of right now."
"Hmmmm, well we are on vacation, baby, we have the money for the bills easily...so we don't have to worry about that right now." Santana reminded her. "We've come a long way from cashing in change and picking up extra shirts for more tips to pay the rent." She laughed.
"The golden days." Brittany teased. "So are you ready for dinner and fire?"
"Of course, but why are we eating dinner so early?" Santana asked. "It's barely 6."
"We have a bedtime tonight, we need to get up early." Brittany replied simply.
Santana stared at her with a small frown. "Our flight isn't that early."
"I know, but we need to get up early." Brittany laughed. "After dinner we can relax on the balcony, cuddle, and talk?"
"My favorite kind of night." Santana smiled.
8pm, New York
"Look at that one, Sky!" Taylor pointed excitedly to the lighted elves dancing, and watched her sisters eyes light up, a smile appearing from behind her pacifier. Taylor and Skylar were on walking through a lights festival with their grandparents. They spent the morning at the museum, followed by lunch at Rainforest Cafe, then a trip to the toy store before cooking dinner with their grandmothers, Skylar being super excited to help Mrs. Lopez with the fresh dough she made for the rolls.
Skylar, who was in Mrs. Lopez's arms, pointed with a smile at the next exhibit, which was Sesame Street themed and had Elmo with a Santa hat. "Elmo!" She screeched and began to clap.
"She loves Elmo." Taylor explained.
"I can tell." Mrs. Lopez laughed, holding Skylar tightly in one arm, and using the other to fix her hat since it was starting to snow a little. "Are you having fun?"
"This is so cool." Taylor nodded happily as she took pictures with her ipad. "I gotta take a bunch of pictures to show my moms."
"Go right ahead honey." Mrs. Pierce smiled, glancing back at their husbands who were recording the girls and taking pictures themselves.
Mrs. Lopez kissed Skylar on the cheek, celebrating a small victory when Skylar turned to look at her and blushed before laying on her shoulder. "Who else do you see with Elmo?" She asked the tiny Latina.
Skylar sat up and looked at the exhibit. "Big Bird!" She screamed and pointed.
"You are just the smartest little thing ever." Mrs. Pierce beamed. "They are really doing a great job with her, with them both." She told Mrs. Lopez, who nodded in agreement.
"Yes they are, I don't always agree with Santanita, and different things she does, but this." She pointed to Taylor and rubbed Skylar's back, this she is doing perfectly, so is Brittany."
"Why don't you two take a picture in front of some of the lights." Mr. Lopez suggested.
Mrs. Lopez set Skylar down, laughing when she began to stomp her boots in the snow as Taylor grabbed her hand and led her over to the display. Taylor kneeled down next to Skylar and hugged her tightly, laughing when Skylar hugged her back as their grandparents took a series of pictures. Taylor then held her hand as they walked around the exhibit.
"Mami come home?" Skylar looked up at her sister and asked suddenly.
"Of course." Taylor nodded. "She'll be home tomorrow morning with momma." She told her with a big smile. "Remember we talked to them before we came here on the video?"
Skylar stared at Taylor and shook her head. "Morrow?"
"Yep, tomorrow. I bet they got us gifts too, because momma had me check your room for a specific toy, and I didn't see it, so I think you got something new." She said excitedly.
"Morrow." Skylar nodded as their grandparents caught up with them and followed them to the next exhibit which had a series of dancing ballerinas.
"Whoa...this is cool." Taylor murmured, her jaw dropping in awe as the lights created the illusion of the ballerinas dancing in a circle in different poses, she lifted Skylar in her arms and pointed out the different poses the ballerinas were doing.
"Are you still in ballet?" Mr. Pierce asked Taylor, remembering the video from a recital that Brittany emailed them a few years ago.
"Yeah, and Skylar starts when she turns two." Taylor nodded. "Are you going to come to my recital?"
"Yes!" The four adults said quickly before all laughing at each other. "We just need to know the date, sweetheart, and we'll be there." Mrs. Lopez added with a smile as Skylar started to attempt the poses in front of her, Mr. Lopez catching it all on camera.
"Like this Sky." Taylor tapped her sister on the shoulder and began to do a number of poses, and jumps laughing when Skylar tried to lift her little legs and copy her sister as best as she could. Taylor easily went from pose to pose before finding the easiest one for Skylar and posing together with her, and her grandparents took a series of pictures and other people walked by smiling brightly at the pair. "You did so good!" Taylor told Skylar, giving her a high five.
"I'll send this to Brittany and Santana right now." Mr. Pierce smiled as he quickly sent the pair an email with the video and some pictures.
"Bua." Skylar said quickly turning to her grandmother with her hands raised.
"You want me to carry you again?" Mrs. Lopez asked, trying to hide her excitement.
Skylar nodded. "More." She stated as her grandmother quickly picked her up and kissed her on the cheek.
"Let's see some more lights."
5am, Cabo
"Brittany, I don't like being blindfolded, and it's actually just making me more sleepy." Santana sighed.
"Just hold on, baby." Brittany rubbed her thigh to relax her. "We are almost there, and I promise it's worth the long hour trip being blindfolded."
Santana exhaled and relaxed more into Brittany as the blonde wrapped her around her wife and kissed the top of her head. "I'm loving this vacation, but I'm so excited to see the girls this afternoon."
"I can't wait to see my babies." Santana smiled. "How cute was Sky in the video your dad sent, trying to be a little ballerina."
"I loved it." Brittany nodded, walking her fingers up and down Santana's arm. "Well now we have our confirmation that she wants to be a ballerina."
"I can't wait to see her do it in person, and Taylor's poses were strong as well." Santana replied as the car came to a stop. Brittany helped Santana out. She handed the driver a tip and took Santana's blindfold off, almost bouncing in excitement, ready to see her wife's face. "Shit, a hot air balloon ride?!"
Brittany nodded and pressed their lips together. "I thought it would be cool to see the sunrise this way."
Santana hugged her tightly. "You remembered?"
"Of course." Brittany told her. "Our relationship bucket list from highschool."
"See the sunrise from a hot air balloon." They both stated together.
"Check it off, baby." Brittany laughed. "We are riding with 8 other people, it was crazy expensive to get it for just us too."
"That's fine." Santana smiled as she looked up at the bright colored balloon.
Thirty minutes later after safety instructions were given out, the pair loaded the balloon, Brittany standing behind her when Santana went to the corner, and wrapped her arms around her waist. Santana relaxed back into her embrace as they started to ascend. She pulled out her phone and carefully took a picture of the two of them, both smiling brightly in the camera, before slipping the phone back in her pocket.
"This is so amazing." Brittany breathed out, resting her chin on Santana's shoulder and hugging her tighter. "Look how gorgeous the sky is this time of morning from up here."
Santana nodded, her eyes trained on the sun as Brittany discreetly peppered kisses to her neck. "This is so cool." She turned her head to kiss Brittany, and blushed when an older couple smiled at her.
"How long have you two been together?" The elderly woman asked.
"Together for over twenty, with some life breaks." Brittany smiled. "Remarried for almost two years."
"So wonderful, don't let the other get away, you are made for each other. I can tell." The man smiled.
"I'm never letting her go again." Brittany winked at her wife.
Brittany kissed her again quickly before taking a bunch of pictures for Taylor and shooting some video for her as well, wanting to share the moment with her later.
4pm, New York
Skylar sat in the middle of the living room a bowl of her popcorn inbetween her little legs, Taylor next to her, sharing the bowl with her as they watched a movie with their grandparents. Skylar would turn and ran to her grandparents giving them each a piece of popcorn, before sitting back down, close to Taylor to share the milkshare with her.
"Here Sky." Taylor lifted the glass for Skylar to drink and rubbed her back when she began to cough from drinking too fast.
"Skylar, are you still sharing?" Mrs. Pierce asked her granddaughter, who turned and stared at her with a smile, she then sat next to Taylor again on the floor and continued watching the movie.
"Can mami have some popcorn?" Santana asked softly.
Taylor and Skylar both snapped their necks up when they heard their mother's voice, Taylor jumped up and ran straight towards Santana hugging her tightly as the Latina kissed all over her face, before Taylor jumped in Brittany's arms.
"I missed you so much." Taylor exclaimed.
"We missed you both so much." Brittany told her, as her eyes focused on Skylar, who was so excited she was jumping up and down in place.
Santana laughed at the baby and began to jump up and down with her excitedly.
"Mami!" Skylar screamed as she ran in a circle before jumping in her mother's arms when Santana kneeled down and picked her up.
"Sky Sky!" Santana beamed. "Hey Smiley!"
"Mami." Skylar smiled and grabbed Santana's face, staring at her mother.
Brittany laughed and snuck a kiss to Skylar, who blushed and lunged for her arms. "Hey you!" Brittany spun around hugging her tightly and kissing all over her face.
"She missed you both a lot too, but I took care of her and made sure she wasn't sad." Taylor told them, still hugging Santana.
"Thank you for taking care of your sister." Santana nodded proudly. "You're a great big sister."
"How was the trip?" Mrs. Lopez asked, standing up and hugging Santana. "Very, very relaxing. Thank you all for watching the girls." Santana smiled, looking around the room.
"Our pleasure." Mr. Lopez replied. "We had a blast for the girls."
"We absolutely did." Mr. Pierce nodded. "We hate to run but we have a 6pm flight."
Brittany sat on the floor with Skylar, who was still holding her tightly around the neck. "I thought you were flying out around 8?" She asked them with a small frown.
"I work in the morning, Brittany, gotta get back and rest a little." Mr. Pierce told her with a smile. "We'll be back soon, I hope."
Santana nodded. "Of course, we all won't go this long without getting together again. Skylar needs to see you more, and I know Taylor wants and needs to see you more as well."
"We have to get going too dear, spend some time with your girls." Mrs. Lopez smiled.
"Bye Bua." Skylar waved.
"See, I'm getting kicked out already." Mrs. Lopez laughed with the rest of the room as Skylar jumped out of Brittany's arms and ran back into Santana's, who hugged her tightly again.
Santana whispered in Skylar's ear, causing the baby to shake her head no with a smile. Santana laughed and whispered in her ear again, she playfully patted Skylar on the butt and watched her daughter run over to Mrs. Lopez and hug her leg.
"Kisses Sky Sky." Santana told her.
Skylar nodded and kissed Mrs. Lopez knee, making the elder Latina blush, she leaned down and tapped her cheek, which Skylar kissed happily before turning red as she blushed and ran back over to Santana, hiding her face in her mother's chest.
"Well, can we take you all to dinner first?" Brittany asked. "As a thank you, we can even just eat in the airport at a restaurant."
"Are you all packed already?" Santana asked.
"Si." Mrs. Lopez stated.
"Okay, well Taylor go get your jacket honey, and grab Skylar's coat as well." Brittany told her. "I'll call an Uber since we all won't fit in one car, and Santana and I don't have to drive two cars home."
"Here Sky." Santana held a spoonful of mashed potatoes to her daughters mouth. "The light show sounds like it was super cool."
"It was." Taylor nodded happily. "And we went to Lego world!"
"Whoa." Brittany smiled.
"Papi and Poppa made this huge Lego castle and we let the ninja princess, aka my Barbies, attack the soldiers and we won!" Taylor stated animatedly with a smile. "It was so cool, then Gam Gam and Buela made ice cream sundaes!"
"Sounds likes an amazing night." Santana laughed. watching lift a piece of her chicken tender and bite it happily.
"Taylor is a great big sister, you've really instilled that sibling bond and closeness in her." Mrs. Pierce smiled. "It was so cute when Skylar would look at Taylor first before answering one of us, or before going with one of us."
"Oh and don't get me started on them cuddling and sleeping together at night." Mrs. Lopez added with a nod.
Taylor blushed and smiled at Skylar before she took a sip of her lemonade. "I love Sky, she's my best friend aside from Berkeley."
"Well we need to make our way to our gate." Mr. Lopez looked at his watch.
"We should get going too." Mr. Pierce agreed. "Thank you for dinner and for allowing us to hang with our favorite mini people."
"Bye Poppa." Taylor jumped up and ran over to him hugging him tightly, she then made her way around the table hugging each of her grandparents.
"Bye bye." Skylar laughed waving at the four of them as they stood up. "Bye Bua."
Mrs. Lopez wiped the tear from her eye. "I get a special goodbye?" She asked the baby, who nodded with a smile. "Bye sweetheart, I'm going to miss you, but I promise to see you soon." She added before glancing at Santana and locking eyes with her. She kissed all over Skylar's face and pinched her cheeks before hugging and kissing Santana and Brittany as well.
Once everyone said their goodbyes and headed towards their gate to leave Santana finished feeding Skylar her mashed potatoes, glancing at Taylor, who was extremely quiet. "You're going to miss them, aren't you?"
"Yeah, it's so cool when your grandparents live close. Berkeley sees hers grandpa every Sunday when their family goes to brunch." Taylor nodded.
Brittany finished her water and pushed the glass to the middle of the table. "Well, we are going to make a better effort to get to Lima, and for them to get up to New York so you and Sky can spend more time with them."
"That's good." Taylor nodded. "It's okay if they're gone now, because you and mami are back."
Santana winked at her. "That's right, and we have the coolest stories and pictures for you."
"We saw baby sharks, we rode in an hot air balloon, and we snorkeled with a ton of tropical fish." Brittany told her.
"Whoa!" Taylor's eyes widened.
"Let's get the check and head home, Santana." Brittany suggested. "I think we need a huge cuddle fest."
Thoughts?
