Jamie slumped into the bus seat next to Roy and slid his headphones on, hanging his tablet over the seat in front of him and watching the show.
Roy yanked his left headphone to the side. "What are you watching?"
"'Bridgerton'," Jamie told him. "Want to listen?"
"Fuck no."
Jamie shrugged and got comfortable against Roy again, able to see Roy's eyes on the screen from the corner of his eye. They were stuck in traffic, a bad crash up ahead somewhere, and Jamie felt the head drop on his shoulder just as Kate and Anthony were ruining the wedding because of their lust. He turned his head to find Roy asleep on his shoulder, mouth a little open as his breathing deepened with sleep. Jamie looked up and around, making sure that no one else on the team was able to see Roy so relaxed and vulnerable. Jamie made sure not to move, Roy warm at his side, until they were just outside of Newcastle, he gently woke Roy…realising this was the first time he'd actually seen the other man asleep. His heart clenched in pain as Roy's eyes blinked slowly and he took in the space around them before sitting up quickly. Jamie's arm felt cold, and it somehow travelled through his entire body.
Later that night, after the movie but before everyone went to bed, Roy pulled Jamie into an empty room.
"What?" Jamie asked, looking around the room.
"Couldn't risk anyone seeing you coming out of my room," Roy said, kissing Jamie.
Jamie lost himself in the kiss and then pulled back, shaking his head. "We play tomorrow."
Roy nodded. "Just wanted to kiss you."
Jamie's heart burst and his body felt warm again.
Roy pulled him into another kiss. "Tomorrow, after the game, I'm going to fuck you in this room though. Let you fuck me if you get more than one goal."
Jamie rolled his eyes. "You love me fucking you."
"It's win-win," Roy said, kissing him again. "I need to go."
Jamie nodded, not pulling back.
Roy yanked him to the bed, getting them both horizontal to kiss until Roy's phone started blaring. Jamie pulled back looking for the sound.
"Had a feeling we'd get carried away," Roy said, turning off the alarm and rolling away from Jamie, adjusting himself. He leaned down and kissed Jamie one last time before walking to the door. "Sleep well."
