Exploring the Ship
When Sev got his powers, he headed into the ship with Courage. The duo made their way towards some sections of the ship that are completely block. The first one they went to was blocked by some exposed wiring that are still live.
Sev raises his right hand, "Hope this works."
Once he did, the electricity gets absorb into his hand. It freaks the two out at first but things are okay. The electricity has died down to reveal a new path ahead with some of the lights out.
"It worked." Sev is surprised.
"It actually did." Courage is just as surprised.
"Let's go before the electricity comes back on."
The two made their way towards a room with a sign that says, 'Companion Room'.
"Companion room?" Sev asks while looking at the sign, "Was I suppose to have a companion?"
Courage is in the room and opens a small cryopod that is slightly bigger than he is. Once open, a foul smell came out of it that both Courage and Sev covered their noses with Sev nearly gagging. When it open and the fumes dissipate, they see a mass of flesh and bone that is completely formless. A dead mass of whatever it was.
Sev turns away in disgust, "So much for my companion." and then barfs.
Courage projectile vomits at one of the walls. He is disgusted by what he smells and sees. So, Courage closes it up.
"Let's give him a funeral later." Courage says without anymore barfing.
"Agree. But might need a special casket for him... Her?" Sev has no idea if his companion is suppose to be given the state it is in.
They head on over to another room as they close the companion room. The next room doesn't have anything like the last one. It has a bunch of drawers yet all the labels are scorched so they cannot identified what they're suppose to contain. Sev opens the first one and find a few cans that do have labels on them.
"Wheat seeds. Corn seeds. Rice seeds. Barley seeds?" Sev tries to piece together what room is this.
"I found a can of apple seeds and peach seeds in this other drawer."
"Must be some sort of farming seed storage. We could definitely use these in our biodomes."
"But we may need a lot of water and some fertilizer to grow some of these."
"Speaking of," he checks another drawer, "how's the terraforming coming along?"
"Didn't get a chance to check before coming here." Courage checks another drawer, "Around 100? I think?"
"So we're close to having a blue sky stage."
"Yeah!" Courage looks at Sev and smiles, "Good to see blue skies again."
"I don't even remember a blue sky. Not as far as I know." Sev stops and look at Courage, "Can't wait to see it."
"Oh you're gonna love it! Especially with clouds and cloud formations."
Sev chuckles a little, "Now I really want to see it."
They check another room and find a lot of strange objects. They seem to be made of rock and minerals that are blobs and formless as if they're meant to be some form of artwork. They went to another room and found another supply room. The two took out bags of beef jerky and have a snack with bottled water. Once done, they head on over to a new section. When turning back, Sev was right about the electricity being back and drains it again in order to get back through. They head on over to another section yet this time it had a fire blocking the way because of a broken gas pipe.
"This one is a bit more difficult." says Courage.
Sev steps forwards, "Let me try something."
Like before, he raises his right hand and see if he can try to drain the fire. Something does happen, but it is not the fire that is getting absorbed. The smoke from the fire is getting absorbed as the fire slowly dies out. This is a surprise for both of them.
"Wait, I can use smoke powers?!" Sev look at his hand and see some smoke with some embers twirling around his right hand.
Courage walks on, "Remind me to find more of those glowing purple crystals."
"Hope I don't pass out from the next one." Sev follows.
Before they head down, Sev and Courage try to seal the broken pipe with some gum Courage found in the storeroom. Clogging the pipe with gum as a temporary fix before moving on. They head into the first room that turns out to be another supply room with barely anything worth of interest except for a pipe fixing kit they'll use later. The next room is full of drawers like with the farming seed supply room. However, what they found are a bunch of blueprints about creating cities and town.
"Do they want me to create some cities and towns?" Sev asks as he looks at one blueprint for an eco-architectual tower with Japanese-style roofs and places to put plants in.
Courage pulls out another blueprint but with blob architecture.
"I think so. Look like a mix of styles to create certain cities and towns." He pulls up another blueprint, "Whoever sent you want you to make an eco-friendly and unique city. There are plans for solar energy, pneumatic tubes, an underground mail system, small trains that you can call via smart device for pick-up. There's a lot of things here."
"We should go over them later." Sev put the blueprints back, "Let's see what else is here."
They head on over to the next room that is the same as the last yet have plans for futuristic devices. They look over and see many of these devices that are meant for the cities or towns Sev is suppose to build.
Sev look them over, "Meat growing in vats? Customized clothing via 3D printing, or weaving? Robotic blacksmiths? Fireproof slime for extinguishing fires? Whoever sent me here has some utopian ideas."
"Found something different." Courage found something that isn't a blueprint, but a book.
The large, multi-paged book courage found has a half blue and half green cover with an 'A' on the front cover yet has a second line going through the top. The title of the book is, 'The Ideal Free Nation' with the author's name missing. Courage hands Sev the book and Sev goes through it.
"Hmm..." Sev skims through the book, "It looks like some form of philosophy that involves semi-anarchy, democracy and a list of other ideals." He closes the book, "Might be worth checking later."
"So we got some blueprints for some city ideas and a political philosophy book. Do your parents approve of this?"
Sev gives Courage a confuse look, "My...parents? What are those?"
"I... I'll explain later."
They head towards the next section of the ship that had some exposed wiring giving out electricity in the way. Sev does his thing and both admit it is kinda cool. They head into one of the rooms and found more seeds along with seeds for non-farming plants. Some of them are for medicinal plants, some are decorative, and some are just wild plants that can be found in their natural soil, climate, etc.
"Do we need to plant these?" Courage asks.
"I have no idea." Sev is just as confused as Courage. "There might be a drone or something. Maybe?"
"Found them!"
Courage found some drones that are upside down trapezoids with a sleek alien appearance. Or rather something made by Apple but more futuristic. They also have four VTOLs, two on each side, as they are designed for lifting. However, there are no blades. Just a bunch of hollowed circles. All of which are slightly bigger than Courage.
"Now those are some drones." Sev admires them.
"Must be used for seed planting in certain areas."
The duo head on over towards the next room full of servers but all of them are completely fried with some still on fire. Sev uses his power to absorb the smoke to snuff out the flames.
"So much for finding out more about your past."
Sev isn't disappointed, "Yeah well, best to enjoy the present than dig up the past. We'll find out more about my past once we have found something useful."
So they head towards the next room and found the room is full of other materials such as iron, aluminum, titanium, osmium, even uranium and super alloy.
"Sweet." Sev holds a box of super alloy, "Looks like we get to use materials that we can't find."
"We should bring some of this stuff back to the base. We might accelerate the terraforming process with these."
"Ah hell yeah!" Sev is even more motivated.
As they walk out of the room, something is bothering Courage.
"There is something that is bothering me."
"Like what?"
"Why the drones when that Genesis Egg can be used for seeding life?"
"Probably a back-up in case something happens to the egg."
"Good point. But I haven't seen any rooms that is meant to store DNA of animals. At least not yet."
Sev stops in the middle of the hall, "Wait. How long have we've been down here?"
Courage stops and look at Sev, "I have no idea."
"Let's wrap this up and head home."
"We should get the materials we need out of here. It'll be a pain to get them out though."
"Right." After a few seconds, Sev got an idea. "Hang on. I got an idea. Those drones that are supposed to be used for seeding. Think we can use them to carry those boxes out?"
"Hmm..." Courage thinks about it for a moment, "It could work. But we are gonna need some strong cables to do so."
"Let's find some."
Courage and Sev look around and found some cables that seem strong enough to carry all the stuff back at the base. They tie one crate to four drones and they manage to get one crate out. However, only a small number of them have headed out with a few dropped by their truck. Sev and Courage later head out and make their way to the exit. When they exited in their suits, the sky is now completely blue.
"Whoa." Sev is in complete awe as he sees the new sky. "Now that's pretty."
"You bet." Courage smiles as he looks up at the sky, "And wait until you see clouds."
Courage and Sev load up some of the crates into their truck with Sev looking up and admiring the sky.
"Hey! Pay attention!"
"Right. My bad."
Then the two went off.
At the base, they unload all the stuff that was placed in the truck and all the stuff the drones delivered. They load them up in a new storage section that Courage made with the device Sev uses to build the base.
"We got quite the haul." Sev loads up some of the crates. "We should be able to make more of the drills and heaters. We could generate more heat and pressure with some tier 5 stuff. But gonna need a few nuclear fusion generators to make it all possible."
Courage is on the roof, "When that is done, make sure you disassemble those fusion generators. Don't want any nuclear radiation to ruin all the hard work."
"Got it!"
The next day, Sev sets out to make a few tier 5 heaters and drills to speed up the terraforming process. Courage is back at base as he set up the nuclear fusion generators with some of the materials they got from the ship and some he has found. Seven of them. Sev goes to work to create some of them in areas that may have potential of having large amounts of gases underneath and areas where the heat can be very effective.
Yet Sev stopped at what appears to be a ravine very high up north for a heater placement. From what he can see, there is a large deposit of corals that have been fossilized for who knows how long. It may have been a sight of a great ocean or a bay judging how deep it is and the amount of dead coral. He starts to get some ideas about where to place the city from the blueprints he and Courage saw close to where he is at. But first, he had to set up the heater.
After a few days, clouds started to form with Sev looking out the window with glee as he can see the various formations.
"Look at that, Courage!" he is excited as a child. "Clouds!"
Courage looks outside, "Yeah, I see them." He also smiles, "Glad to see clouds again."
Sev looks at Courage, "You think it'll rain?"
Courage looks back at the monitor and see the terraforming index. It currently says 570 kTi and the rain won't appear until 875 kTi.
He looks back at Sev, "If this keeps up, we may be able to get some rain in no time. Just hope we don't get too much pressure or overheat the planet."
"Sweet."
And it did. After a few more days, the clouds above starts to gather around with the winds getting stronger. The clouds turn grey with rain coming down. Sev and Courage look out the window and are in awe to see rain. Things were like a normal rainstorm at first until it turned into a major storm with lightning and thunder, wind howling and it is pouring out there. It look like it has turn into a flash flood as the ancient riverbeds and streams start to flow with water once more as Sev and Courage watch in the safety of their base.
Courage pulls out the popcorn, "Popcorn?"
"Sure."
The two eat the popcorn as they watch the storm.
"It actually looks pretty."
Courage looks at Sev.
"A little chaotic," Sev continues, "but pretty."
"Storms usually bring destruction and chaos that would destroy anything it can." Courage looks back out the window, "But considering it is doing it on a lifeless planet, yeah. It is pretty."
A moment of silence has passed as they both look at the monitor as they see it has now reached 1.2MTi. Getting closer for the mystic egg to be launched from the ship. The silence is broken by the sound of thunder at a distance.
"That's shit is loud." Sev says about the thunder.
"No kidding. I'm a dog and I have super sensitive hearing."
