Kal'tsit walked through the corridors of the base, hands in her pockets, head down. She felt a void in her chest... She knew that the sarcophagus would most likely affect her memory, but the amnesia... She stopped and looked at the ring on her finger, the ring she never had the courage to give him. She felt the tears coming to her eyes. Then she suddenly felt the air around her become colder, used to this sensation she straightened her head and pretended nothing was wrong.

Kal'tsit- Can I help you Warfarin?

Warfarin- I just saw what happened in Chernobog on the news. Is our team okay?

Kal'tsit- Yes, they should be here any minute.

Warfarin- And how is he?

Kal'tsit- He lost his memories.

Just saying that made her heart clench and tears come to her eyes.

Warfarin- How are you holding up?

Kal'tsit- It doesn't matter.

She started walking down the hallway again, trying to ignore her own sadness mixed with rage.

Kal'tsit- We knew that this was the most likely thing to happen when he entered the sarcophagus. And maybe that's for the best.

The vampire sarkaz thought for a few seconds, it's true that he had been a hateful person before his disappearance four years ago but before that... Before he turned into a monster of cold pragmatism he was one of the most generous and gentle men on this planet. Surely for the feline his bad deeds had more weight than the good deeds he had led.

Warfarin- Closure is not coming?

Kal'tsit- You know she doesn't like being around people.

Warfarin- It's true, I don't even know why I ask.

She laughed lightly, a rare thing for her.

After passing through yet another automatic door, the two doctors arrived at the vehicle bay and saw that many operators were waiting there, medics on the alert to treat injured personnel. There were no longer any vehicles hanging from the ceiling, leaving the cables hanging over the huge hatches that were supposed to open to retrieve the trucks that were driving below. The doctor's return had been rumored and the destruction of Chernobog had the Rhodes Islanders worried about the health of their comrades. Discussions filled the room, mostly rumors about the doctor, a founder of Rhodes Island, a genius scientist and an extraordinary tactician who disappeared for four years.

Vanilla- But do you know what Dr. Sebastian looks like?

Catapult- No, well all we have is this picture.

Vanilla- ... Is this a joke?

Catapult- No! He used to dress like that almost all the time, the people who saw his face could be counted on one hand. But I hear he's like super tall.

Vanilla- But how can he see with that helmet...

She said, leaning on the barrier that separated the part where the operators could move and the part where the vehicles were stored. The floor of the hangar began to open up, giving a view of the sand dunes below and the trucks that were arriving aligned with the opening. The huge cables hanging from the ceiling began to descend to the ground successfully hooking the vehicles below. The trucks lifted off the ground and finished their climb over the doors, which closed after a few seconds. The vehicles were placed by the cables on the floor of the hangar. The ramp of the truck in the center opened and Amiya came out with a bright smile on her face, she made a V with her fingers to indicate that the mission had been successful. The silence and tension of the hangar was broken by a thunder of good humor and relief. Then it was Dobermann's turn to come out and help Nearl, who was in bad shape after her fight with Talulah but still wearing her charred armor. The medics came to help the two young women and placed Nearl on a stretcher and took her to the infirmary. Ace got out of the truck as well and took off his sunglasses and walked over to a woman who was waiting for him, both of them with rings on their fingers. The rest of the operators got out of the other trucks preparing for their treatment or joining their friends.

Then a huge hand came out of the darkness of the truck to grab one of the handles, the man to whom the hand belonged came out of the truck entirely, his emerald eyes scanning the crowd of operators in front of him with a reassuring smile on his lips. He stepped out of the truck by far the taller of the room, allowing everyone to see the sarkaz with blood red horns that some recognized with hatred.

Amiya- Welcome to Rhodes Island dokutah.

She smiled slightly at him as he began to stroke the head of the young Cautus.

Sebastian- Thank you Amiya.

The operators remained confused.

Vanilla- Wait, is he the doctor?

The two meter tall man was stained with blood in all sorts of places, wore a two handed sword on his hip and a pistol on his thigh, dressed all in black with military gear but one of the most notable things was the bandaged wound he had on his shoulder but seemed to ignore it as if the pain didn't exist which worried doctor Kal'tsit. Amiya took Sebastian's hand and led him to the feline.

Kal'tsit- Doctor Sebastian.

She held out her hand.

Sebastian- Doctor Kal'tsit I presume?

He shook her hand in greeting.

Kal'tsit- That's me. I was warned about your... condition... You may not remember Rhodes Island, but I hope you can do a good job with us.

Sebastian- So do I.

Kal'tsit- You really don't remember anything?

Sebastian- I have a memory that has come back to me, I was preparing a strategy in some sort of palace and I was talking to a woman with pale pink hair.

Kal'tsit- I see...

W- Well, well, well... A woman with pale pink hair, I wonder who that could be~...

The demoness came out from behind Sebastian with a slight smile on her face, causing Warfarin and Kal'tsit to take a step backwards, the latter feeling her spine tingle, a sign that Mont3r was warning her of danger.

Sebastian- Do you know her?

he asked the sarkaz.

W- You could say I knew her. But I'm not sure I'm allowed to tell you...

Sebastian- Too bad for me then.

Kal'tsit- W, you can go to an interrogation room until I finish with the doctor. I think you already know the way...

She said, her tone even colder than usual.

W- Yeah yeah...

Everyone began to leave, Amiya separating from Sebastian who began to follow Kal'tsit. After a short walk in which the feline remained silent, they arrived at an almost empty infirmary.

Kal'tsit- What happened to your shoulder?

Sebastian- Crossbow bolt, flat tip, 24 inches long, high power.

Kal'tsit- Take off the bandage and I'll get the medical supplies.

The woman approached a doctor's office and began pulling out equipment as Sebastian sat on a medical bed, he removed the blood-stained bandage and his shirt, leaving the wound open to the air. The feline turned back to Sebastian and came closer with her medical instruments in a kind of metal cup then frowned when she saw that the doctor's wound was almost closed and not bleeding. The torn muscles had already regained a few inches. She ignored it and began to treat the wound.

Kal'tsit- How bad is your amnesia?

Sebastian- No memory of this world, all I had was my first and last name. But sometimes when I say or do something I feel like I've already done it. But I've already asked Amiya and the others on the road some questions.

Kal'tsit- Like what?

Sebastian- Originium, Oripathy, Infected, R.I, disasters and a few small questions about the world in general.

She finished applying the bandage to Sebastian's wound and took a few steps backwards, leaning on a chest of drawers beside the hospital bed.

Kal'tsit- And what do you know about the infected and Rhode Island?

Sebastian- That the infected become sick from the originium that can cause mutation and cessation of vital functions and the appearance of originium crystal on the surface of the skin, when the infected reaches a saturation level their body turns into a block of originium crystal that bursts into dust ready to infect others. Most of the infected are shunned by society due to fear and or hatred of the population towards them, but Oripathy tends to make a person's arts more powerful. Rhodes Island is a pharmaceutical company that is currently going through a rough patch. Their goal is to help the infected and improve their living conditions as well as find a cure for Oripathy. Rhodes also has its own military force.

Kal'tsit- How do you know we're going through a rough patch?

Sebastian- Because I doubt that if the company was in a good state it would send faulty vehicles into an operation.

He stood up stretched his injured shoulder and put his shirt back on.

Kal'tsit- But what do you think about RI or the Infected?

she asked, crossing her arms.

Sebastian- That the infected are just sick people and deserve to be cured, not persecuted. And I'm glad I'm with Rhodes Island, because you're looking for a real solution and not to massacre everything like Reunion. As for the rest, I'll find out in time.

Kal'tsit- We are looking for a real solution.

She said with a less cold face, was it a smile that she had in the corner of her mouth?

Sebastian- I guess I'm back to work now.

Kal'tsit- Wait, put this on.

She gave him some kind of bracelet or maybe a black necklace with blue crosses.

Sebastian- What is it? I've seen other members wearing it but I don't know what it is.

Kal'tsit- It's for tracking your vital signs, it's a must have, you can put it anywhere you want.

He put it on his wrist, and the blue crisscrosses began to glow and a window appeared on a computer in the clinic.

Kal'tsit- Everything is in order. Last question, why do you have that sword on your belt?

Sebastian- It has my name on it. And then all the other weapons I picked up in the field ended up breaking.

He unhooked the sword from his hip and presented the side of the blade with his name engraved on it, surprising the young woman.

Kal'tsit- Wait a minute, you were in a fight?

Sebastian- Yes. You seem surprised.

Kal'tsit- It surprises me because I have never seen you use violence, you even asked to open pickle jars for you.

Sebastian- Oh god...

Kal'tsit- And did Amiya see you fighting?

Sebastian- Yes...

The feline thought of the shock Amiya must had, the girl's ideal was stained with blood right now.

Kal'tsit- Go back to your quarters, I think all the other operators who went on the mission have already gone to bed, and I think you must have been tired from the amnesia and the apocalypse in the same day.

Sebastian- And not just a little...

Kal'tsit- Take the left out of the infirmary, go straight until you get to the end of the hallway, then take a right and your room is at the end.

Sebastian- Thank you. Goodbye Dr. Kal'tsit.

He left the infirmary and the feline sighed. The door opened again to let in a certain vampire sarkaz.

Warfarin- So how did it go?

Kal'tsit- Better than I expected.

Warfarin- Can you explain to me why I was not allowed to examine him?

Kal'tsit- Do I need to remind you that you have a restraining order for sexual harassment against him?

Warfarin- That was a long time ago and you can't understand the smell of his blood~...

Kal'tsit- And you wonder why I won't let you near him...

Warfarin- And how many times he almost got into trouble with the law for touching everyone's tails and ears?

The sarkaz approached the computer where Sebastian's data was displayed.

Warfarin- Kal? Have we looked at Seb's infection data yet?

Kal'tsit- No, he never let it happen.

Warfarin- Come here...

The feline moved closer to Warfarin and looked at the screen, Sebastian's medical data measured in real time by the bracelet was displayed, but as she looked at the data normally her eyes stopped in incomprehension at the Originium density of his blood.

Kal'tsit- 0,000 units per liter... Impossible...

Warfarin- Do you think it's because of the sarcophagus?

Kal'tsit- No, the air was full of originium because of the cathastrophe and then he used a Laterano weapon, he still had traces of powder on his hands...

Warfarin- What the...

Sebastian- right and then down the hall... *mumble* Damn it, they couldn't put up signs...

He arrived at the end of the hallway in front of a door that had his name on a bronze plaque. He pressed a control panel button on the wall and the sliding door opened, letting Sebastian see his quarters. He grinned and removed the sword from his hip and placed it in the coat rack. His quarters were huge, the first part consisted of a desk with a computer, paper and pens and two seats in front of the desk. To the left of the desk was a huge bookcase filled with files, obviously from Sebastian's work as a doctor, and to the left with books of all kinds divided according to their categories. To the right of the desk were two sofas with a television and a coffee table as well as potted plants in the corners.

Behind the desk there were extremely wide stairs stretching almost the entire width of the room leading to the second part of his quarters that were unable to be seen from the first part, to the left there was a bed also adapted to the proportions of the doctor, and next to the bed, in the bedroom part a door that led to a bathroom and a closet in the wall. to the right there was an open kitchen, with a small table. The entire back wall of the room was a huge bay window bringing a lot of natural light into the room. He also noticed the sort of terrace he had with a fence and a table and two chairs made of metal behind the bay window accessible through a glass door next to the kitchen.

He walked to his desk and caressed the metal, then walked up the stairs, looked at his bloodstained clothes and laughed slightly. He put his gun and holster on his bed and went into the bathroom, took off his torn, blood-stained and dusty clothes and got into the shower. He turned on the hot water and watched as blood, stitches, bandages and more slipped from his body. While his body remained without a scratch except for his back tattooed with a crowned two-headed eagle that was covered with scars. Today had been a long, hard day... It wasn't the fact that he had amnesia that bothered him, he had already been amnesic during his travels... But the people he no longer knew. Though Rhodes Island had convinced him to fight by their side, Amiya alone possessed a will and courage that inspired him to be with them. But what hurt him the most was having to lie to them about the fact that he could only remember his first name. But what could they tell them? That he remembered being a Russian soldier, a mercenary? Tell them about his travels? No, certainly not, he couldn't do that... He turned off the water and toweled off as he stepped out of the shower. He walked out of the bathroom and opened the closet, he saw a strange metal helmet that he looked at before throwing it in the back of the closet. Why would he hide his beautiful face? He pucnhed himself for his excessive pretension. And looking more carefully at the clothes he had, he took out a pair of dress pants, the same gray as the huge rain coat that was next to the helmet, a white shirt, and an azure blue tie. He put on the pants but kept his combat shoes on underneath. He kicked in the air to make sure the pants were comfortable, long and loose enough to allow him to move as he wanted. He put on his shirt, closed the buttons and rolled up the sleeves, put on his tie and tied it. He then looked at his reflection in the bay window and saw that he was finally dressed in Rhodes Island colors. He heard something fall near the entrance, his senses still alert from combat and his life as a soldier caused him to pick up his sidearm and roll to the side to find himself on one knee facing the entrance ready to shoot.

?- Wow wow calm down leader!

He lowered his handgun in front of the young woman.

Sebastian- Sorry, I've had a rough day...

?- I thought I understood that...

He stood up and walked down the stairs and found himself a few feet away from the woman in front of him. She had a halo over her red hair and she had a bead of sweat on her forehead.

Sebastian- Can I help you?

?- My name is Exusiai, I was asked to give you this report on the Chernobog operation.

Sebastian- Already? Thank you very much for coming for this.

He answered with a big smile, he took the file that the sanktah handed him and looked at him with surprise.

Exusiai- Wow, I didn't know the Rhodes Island doctor was so tall

Sebastian- Are you new?

She dropped into a chair in front of the desk and relaxed with a carefree smile on her lips.

Exusiai- Yep~. Is it that obvious?

Sebastian- A little.

Exusiai- Well, even with amnesia your sense of observation is not bad...

The doctor sighed and sat down at his desk.

Sebastian- The news of my amnesia has already gone around the arch, hasn't it?

Exusiai- Nah, I'd say there's still an hour or two to go before everyone here really knows. You know what they say.

Sebastian- News travels fast...

Exusiai- Exactly~.

She stood up with a jump and turned to the doctor who held out his hand with a smile on his face.

Sebastian- So welcome to Rhodes Island Exia, and do a good job with us.

Exusiai- Thank you leader!

She shook his hand and left, closing the door behind her. Sebastian began to look at the file he had been given.

Sebastian- Blah, blah, blah... Rescue operation... Arrival of the A1 team at the objective... Blah, blah, blah... Exit, of the doctor of the sarcophagus... Wounds and important quantity of blood in the chamber... Blabla... The doctor is awake but amnesic... He is not aware of the four years that have passed?

He pulled his head back slightly in surprise at what he had just read.

Sebastian- I've been locked in this sarcophagus for four years?! Hibernation... No, maybe cryogenics...

He put the file on his desk thinking he had seen everything, then remembering his confrontation with Talulah he took the file back and looked towards the end of the report. He looked closely at the picture to find the draco strangely familiar before continuing the report.

Sebastian- Dr. Sebastian engaged the enemy alone and then made them retreat after inflicting heavy losses. Given his extraordinary combat skills, it would be wise to investigate further once we reach Rhodes Island... Damn it... At the same time I wasn't really supposed to do that before I got amnesia...

He put the file down one last time and headed for the library, which seemed to contain knowledge on every subject.

Sebastian- Well, I just have to catch up on years of knowledge about a world, its people and its customs. And stop talking to myself...

Kal'tsit- Are you sure, Dobermann?

She said with a worried, almost frightened face.

Dobermann- Yes, I saw it with my own eyes, like Ace or Nearl, the buildings around shook with each of his blows.

Kal'tsit- *sigh* I-I'll see about that later. Take the rest of the day off.

Dobermann- Thank you ma'am.

The instructor left for the dormitories, leaving Kal'tsit outside the interrogation room. She opened the door and found herself facing a certain explosives-loving Sarkaz who was swinging on a chair in the interrogation room with her feet on the table and twirling a grenade with her finger through the pin...

W- My dear Kal'tsit... Can we start?

She said with a smile.
