Chapter 3 -

Rossi stood at the board and pinned four photos up and started to write names underneath each one. Angela James, 24 years old, Grace Doyle, 22 years old, Lia Alcott, 24 years old, Alison Oakley, 22 years old. A sigh left his mouth as he sat down and quickly emailed Garcia to delve deeper into their histories.

"Here you go Dave."

Luke had walked into the room holding a tray of coffee and swiftly placed one in front of the older agent.

"Oh hi, thanks Luke, where's Tyler?"

"Just cleaning up, he tripped and face planted into a puddle!"

Luke laughed as he remembered the image, glad that they could all find humour at times when things were tough.

"Well hopefully he didn't disturb any of the evidence!"

"Don't worry I made sure that I avoided anything important."

Tyler smiled and shook his head as he sat down and gratefully grabbed a coffee before his eyes caught sight of JJ and Tara walking towards them.

"Well it looks like the gangs all back together."

Tyler raised an eyebrow and grinned at Dave who shook his head before they all sat around the table.

"Hang on I'll just get Garcia on the call."

JJ took a quick sip of coffee before she opened up her laptop.

Garcia sighed as she finished the call and looked across at Emily.

"They are all so young and full of hope, why?"

Emily raised an eyebrow before she gently put a hand on Garcia's shoulder.

"Pen…"

"I know Emily. But please I don't ever want to get used to this. Now leave me to it ma'am, you've got someone you need to get home to!"

Garcia smiled as Emily raised her eyebrow once again but she knew that it was futile to argue with Garcia.

"Ok but promise me you'll ring me if you need to?"

"Of course but only if you promise to give Libby a big hug from me!"

Emily laughed softly as she stood up and rubbed Garcia's shoulder.

"You know I will, just don't stay too late."

"Yeah yeah, now shoo!"

Garcia grinned as she waved her hand towards Emily before she turned her attention back to the bank of monitors in front of her.

"Hello!"

Emily quickly closed the door behind her as she called out, moving to quickly take her heels off and then to stow her gun safely away.

"We're in the kitchen!"

Emily smiled as she heard Rebecca's voice call out and she swiftly moved towards the kitchen.

"Well I hope you two have left some food for me!"

"Of course Emily, it's in the oven keeping warm for you."

Libby smiled as she pushed her chair back and quickly embraced her aunt.

"Oh thanks Libs!"

Emily gently kissed her niece on the top of her head before she carefully got the plate out of the oven and sat down next to Libby.

"Thanks for this you two. So how was your appointment today Libby?"

Libby scrunched up her nose and looked down at the table, Emily reached and gently put her arm around her niece as Rebecca looked across and smiled at Emily as she spoke.

"Libby talked about the nightmare and has agreed to write down when they happen and what activities Libby has done in the day to see if there is a pattern."

Emily nodded her head and kissed Libby on the top of her head and brought her in tightly against her.

"That's great, well done Libby I know how hard the sessions are. Why don't you go up and choose a book and Rebecca and I will be up in a few minutes."

Libby nodded her head as she hugged Emily before she let go and jogged out of the kitchen.

"Thanks for talking to Libby after her appointment Rebecca."

"Oh I only caught the end of it, Hannah had worked her magic as usual!"

Emily smiled and nodded her head as she finished her food and looked carefully at Rebecca.

"Have you spoken to Tara today?"

Rebecca nodded her head and Emily saw the heavy sigh leave Rebecca's mouth.

"I'm sorry Rebecca. I could see how distant she was earlier but I didn't get a chance to talk to her."

"She asked me to go and check on her dad in the morning."

Emily reached across and took a hold of Rebecca's hands and squeezed them gently as she spoke.

"Tara's strong Rebecca, but JJ will make sure she's ok and if there is anything we can do we will, I promise you."

"Thanks I know you will Emily. Now how about we go up and read those stories to Libby before she falls asleep!"

Tara opened her eyes and sat up in the bed, her breathing rapid as she felt the beads of sweat trickling down her back, neck and down her forehead. Subconsciously she knew that no sound had left her mouth but the vivid images felt like they were still playing like a movie in the room. Reaching for her cell she checked the time and saw that it was still the middle of the night, they were only one day in and already this case was affecting her in ways she hadn't experienced for a long time. Taking a long deep breath Tara felt her heart rate dropping back to its normal rhythm, scrolling on her cell she found a podcast and laid back down tuning her brain to listen to the words and away from the memories of her nightmare.

Garcia balanced her coffee with her hand and under her chin as she carefully opened the door to her office. She had stayed late and was in before Emily as she wanted to check and see if any results had come in overnight from her searches. Quickly she sat down and flicked the screens on and took a long sip of her drink. Moving the cursor around the screen as she leaned in slightly and analysed what had popped up. It wasn't exactly the answer they were looking for but it was a start.

"Jareau."

"So I have something, it's sketchy but…"

"Pen? Hang on."

JJ yawned as she sat up and looked at her cell screen and the time.

"What are you doing at the office, did you go home?"

"Yes, yes, but listen sweetie I have something!"

JJ sat up and quickly her brain had clicked into work mode.

"Ok what is it?"

"I have a link between all of the victims. They all have visited family planning clinics. Not the same one and not at the same time. But I have got their medical records and they all had early term abortions."

"Ok that is definitely worth exploring, can you send everything over?"

"Already with you!"

"Thanks Pen, please don't drink too much coffee today and take a nap!"

"I love you too Jareau!"

Garcia quickly cut the call off as she carried on delving into the staff at the clinics to see if she could find any other links whatsoever between the victims.
