Announcer: Last episode! Ash went up against the three brothers! Celant, Brussel and Dent! Known as the connoisseur brothers. They tested Ash and his abilities against Pokemon that were at a disadvantage to theirs. Going at a three out of four battles, Ash had won the Advantage Badge. From there on he and Misty would be heading to Amber City. Where they are to meet up with the others. As for back in Pallet town.
In the Ketchum residence Delia was humming a happy song as she washed her dishes. Having enjoyed her trip with Prof. Oak. Especially since she got a souvenir on that trip. A beautiful emerald gem. She angled it with the palm of her hand to look at it. This had made her happy and reminded her of her husband. He gave her a much as he could. The one things he truly gave her was her son Ash. Although, something was nudging at her as she resumed washing her dishes.
That was when someone knocked on the door. She looked into the living room at the door. Very curious at who could be there. She walked to the door and saw two figures standing outside her door. Carefully opening it, she saw they were dressed in black suites. Wearing black hats and sunglasses. They looked at her as she looked at them.
"May I help you?" Delia questioned.
"Miss Delia Ketchum! We're here because you're in danger." the first agent informed her.
"In danger! Of what?" she asked, a bit concerned.
"There's a team after that stone you're wearing. It's a huge importance to them. Give it to us and they can't get it." the second person informed her.
"They're wanting it for not only domination, but also power. So please! Hand us the stone. We'll keep it safe." the first one requested, extending their hand.
Delia looked a bit hesitant as she once again looked at the gem. They sounded very convincing as she began to remove her necklace. "Don't do it!" a voice ordered her. They gasped and looked in the direction of the voice. Out came a man in a brown overcoat with a dark brown vest underneath and a white dress-up shirt and a purple tie. His hair was gray, his eyes brown and his pants were a dark brown with brown shoes.
"Who are you?" Delia asked.
"So then..." the first figure stated. "You caught up with us." he commented.
Delia looked to them. "W-what do you mean?" she questioned then looked back to the man. "And who are y..." before she could finish her question, the second figure put her in a hold. "Best leave now. She has something we want. You're not going to get it though." he informed the man.
"Is that so?" the man questioned and threw a small ball.
It bounced a few times on the ground as they watched it. "What the..." that's when the ball released smoke.
He ran into the smoke and the second figure released Delia by accident. "Keep an eye out! Don't let her get away." the first figure ordered.
"Gotcha...! Crud, she got loose." he informed the first figure.
"Find her." the first figure ordered.
Delia looked around frantically as she saw the smoke, coughing a bit. That's when a hand gripped her wrist. "Come on." the man ordered and dragged her out of the smoke. She saw it was the man that threw the smoke bomb. It wasn't much longer until they reached a black car. "Get in." he told her. Delia did as he said. That's when the other two got out of the smoke.
They both looked around and didn't see her. "Find them!" he ordered.
"Sir!" the female replied.
That's when they heard an engine rev up. Both went in the direction and saw the vehicle head for them. Narrowly getting out of the way, the vehicle tor a bit of their disguise. Underneath their suites was something silver and a few yellow lines. A vertical line with a zigzag line on it. "Crud." the guy said.
The female put her wrist up to her mouth, a small device on it. "We've got a problem." she said into it.
With the man and Delia, he drove them out of Pallet down. She looked outside the windshield and windows. Seeing all the trees and Pokemon. That's when she looked at him. "Okay, now! Who are you?" she demanded.
"Delia Ketchum. I am Special Agent Looker." he told her. "Those people are after your necklace because it's apart of a key." he informed her as he looked at her. "A key that has to do with what the scientists have discovered at the new island." He stated. This left her surprised and confused at what he just told her. It was a look of shock that was on her face.

Announcer: A few days have passed ever since Ash won his first badge symbol from the Frontier Leader trio; known as The Battling Conniseuers! Now he and Misty are traveling down a road that's leading them to the next Frontier Gym. Little do they know, a surprise is just right around the corner.
Ash and Misty were on a trail that led to their next destination, Amber City. To where they would be meeting up with Dawn, Serena and Iris. The two of them approached a bridge that looked old as it hung over a river. Both looked down and saw it was raging. This worried them a bit. More Misty than Ash. Even though she loves water and water Pokemon. She knew how threatening it can be.
"Umm...isn't there another way?" She requested.
"I doubt it!" Ash stated.
Misty took out her Pokenav and saw none that was close. Ash took a step onto the bridge and Misty grabbed his arms with both of hers. "What are you doing? It could be dangerous." She informed him.
"Maybe! What choice do we have though?" He requested. She was a little concerned as she gently released him and he began to walk across the bridge, cautiously. This still worried her as he got further across. Each board creaking with every step he took. Misty watched from a distance as he got to the other end and faced back to her. "Okay! Now you try." He informed her, shouting a bit. She looked down at the bridge then to him. "Just try not to look down. Only look at me as you cross. Don't think about anything else. Concentrate on me." He told her.
"That's easy for you to say. Of course I can look at the teen of my dreams; but over this. That'll be hard." She said to herself. She began to cross the rickety bridge. Very creaky and swayed a bit. She kept on walking and kept on getting closer as she looked at him.
"That's right. Just keep on coming. Don't look away." He told her.
"This might be a bit easy?" She questioned a bit. As she took another step, the bridge swayed in a steep manner, mainly from the wind that blew. Grabbing the ropes, her eyes closed briefly before opening them. She saw a board had broken and she saw the rapids down below.
Seeing this she could hardly move. Trying to, she gently took another step forward and did another one. After another one she was grabbed and pulled by Ash to himself. Gasping and gripping onto him, her head now buried into his chest. She backed up a bit and looked up at him.
"You okay, Mist?" He requested. She gave a few nods and he smiled a her. "You see! You're okay. You're fine. Now, all we have to do is join the others soon." He told her. Looking up at the sun, he saw it was about in the afternoon. "We're going to have to set up camp soon." He mentioned.
They continued on walking until they found a good spot to set up camp. Ash and Misty got out their sleeping bags and set up a small table with a couple of chairs. Ash began to put stones in a circle to make a fire. Misty gathered up sticks and wood to start up the fire.
Not long after Ash got out his Poke-balls. "Come on out guys." He told them. After enlarging them, he threw them into the air and they popped out, each one calling out their own name.
Misty grabbed her Poke-balls and enlarged them as well. "Come on out guys!" She said as she threw them into the air. All of them burst out, including the Remoraid that Ash gave her. It flopped on the ground. "Whoops! Sorry about that." Misty apologized. Aiming the ball, she returned it. "When we get to some water, I'll let you out there." She told it through the ball. She looked to Ash and Pikachu, seeing that Ash was getting the fire ready. Setting up the sticks in a tee-pee form. Misty went over to him and he got out flint and steel. "How long have you done this?" She questioned.
"Began doing this during the Battle Frontier." He told her.
She got down to his level and watched as he began to get some tinder. Making a few sparks with the flint he managed to make a fire. "Wow! Normally we have a Pokemon do this." She remarked.
"That was years ago. Over time, I began to learn to use a flint and steal to make a fire." He told her. He looked to his Pokemon, helping them out to gather extra wood from dead trees, food for themselves, making sure they had a place to sleep. "Seems like the Pokemon are doing what they need to do." Ash commented.
"We're doing the same." Misty replied. She looked down to see Ash's hand right next to the fire. "Ash!" She exclaimed.
"Huh? Ahh!" He yelped a bit. He blew on his hand a few times until Azumaril squirted water onto his face, completely missing his hand. "Thanks a lot." He said a bit ironically. Misty giggled and had Azumaril to lightly damped a cloth.
"Thanks Azumaril." She said and patted the Pokemon's head. The water Pokemon went off to join the others. Misty applied the cloth to his hand. "Gotta be careful with fire." She stated.
"Yeah, yeah! I know." He confirmed.
They got out some items for lunch. This was a little something Ash made due to the fact he watched and learned from Brock about how to prepare food. As he did, Misty began to set an area for them to eat. Doing so, she could smell the food and knew from her own cooking experiences. She wanted to cook as well.
She waked over to him. "Mind if I help?" She requested.
"Sure!" He replied.
They both worked together on the food. They could smell how good it truly was. It wasn't long until dinner was ready and they began to feed their own Pokemon. After eating they began to clean up.
Late at night Misty was asleep and turned over, he hair out of its pony tail. Coming to an awakened state her eyes cracked open. In front of her was Ash's sleeping bag and she didn't see him. Getting worried, she sat up. "Ash?" She asked. Getting up she began to walk around. She didn't see him anywhere. That was until she heard something. Going to the river of where they had cleaned she took a peek.
From where she was, she saw Ash with his Floatzel. She saw them as they synchronized their punches. As Ash did and punch, Floatzal withdrew his previous punch and gave off another punch with his opposite arm. Both being a reverse reflection f each other, Misty watched as she smiled at them, leaning against a tree. Knowing how Ash is now with training, this was something she could tell that was making them stronger. Yet, she hoped to make a strong relationship with him. First: He had to win the Indigo Plateau. The final stage before he could continue on.
"There we go, Floatzel. Keep it up." He told the water weasel. Floatzel nodded and kept on. Misty only smiled as she watched them. As she leaned against the tree she began to sit down, still leaning against it. After some time had passed, Ash began to return with Floatzel. "Nice time of training. There's more to go, later on." He told his Pokemon.
He nodded as a reply until they saw Misty. Ash stopped and saw the sleeping beauty and smiled at her. From there he picked her up, bridal and walked her back to camp. Floatzel looked to them, then to her. "Isn't she beautiful!" Ash exclaimed as he gazed at her. Right after he said that, she nuzzled her head into his shoulder. He smiled at her, lovingly.
As soon as he reached camp, he set her in her sleeping bag; pulling his right up next to her. Right after he laid in it, Pikachu joined him. Curling right up next to him. That's when he felt something. He looked over to see Misty now snuggling up next to him, while in her sleeping bag. He leaned over and kissed her forehead. "Night, Mist." He said.
The following day, the lot of them were now walked further along the trail. Ash took in a breath of fresh air, loving how the sun was shining once more. "I think today will be perfect for more training." He commented.
Misty giggled at that. "Haven't you trained enough!" She exclaimed jokingly.
"I might have been training for the past few days; but I need to be in great shape for the next battle." Ash replied,
"That doesn't mean to over do it." She reminded him as she smiled.
"I know, but these are going to be much tougher. Especially since I agreed to this." Ash reminded her. She saw he was very determined. That's where she took his hand and he looked at her.
She now smiled softly at him. "Just try and be careful. I don't want you over doing it." She requested.
He returned her smile and placed his hand over hers. "I am used to it all. But, I'll take it easy for a bit." He replied.
"That's good. Now we need to head in the direction of a contest." He told Misty, remembering that Dawn was entering a contest soon.
"First we need to find a city that has ads for a contest." Misty reminded him.
Ash chuckled nervously at that. Completely forgetting about that part. "As we do, I'd like to train some more." Ash said.
Misty looked at her device to see the next city they were going to. "The Contest is in a few days. The city it's in isn't far away." She stated.
"Then we're on our way." Ash said, enthusiastically. Misty giggled and they continued on.
With Dawn, Iris and Serena; they were training. Dawn was assisting in Serena's training for contests.
"You just really need something that will catch the judge's eye." Dawn told Serena.
"Like cuteness?" Serena asked.
"Yeah or a razzle dazzle move!" Dawn added.
"Personally, I think this whole thing is just for little kids." Iris stated, placing her hands behind her head.
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" Serena demanded.
"Squirtle, Squirt! (Yes, what are you saying?)" Squirtle also demanded, placing its flippers on its side.
"You all think one thing is amazing, then another. I swear..." Iris commented.
"Axew ew. (Be friendly!)" the small dragon type pleaded, as its head popped out of her hair.
"AAAAAHHHHHH! WHAT IS THAT THING?" Serena freaked out, asking.
"Oh! This is my partner, Axew." Iris told them, looking at Axew.
"Axew, huh?" Dawn said curiously as she pulled out her red Poke-dex and opened it.
"Axew! The Dragon Pokemon! They use their tusks to crush the berries they eat and mark their territory by leaving gashes in trees. Repeated regrowth makes their tusks strong and sharp. If a tusk breaks, a new one grows in quickly. Its large tusks have a tendency to break, but each time they grow back, they grow in harder and sturdier." Her Dex said.
Dawn closed it and looked at the Pokemon. "This Pokemon is really cute!" Dawn commented as she approached it. Doing so, she pet its head and Axew closed its eyes, enjoying it.
"Such a cutie." Serena commented, having recovered from freaking out. "How long have you had this Pokemon?" She asked as she came up.
"Not long. It's still a very young Pokemon. Still has a ways to go until it gets stronger." She told them.
"How long of a ways? Doesn't look like it's been through much." Dawn stated as she observed it.
"I mainly like to do light training with it. That way it's a nice and steady pace." Iris told them.
"Then how about a small training battle!" Serena requested as she brought out her Poke-ball. "My Squirtle hasn't had much training ever since I got it. I know this would help both of our Pokemon, greatly." She told them.
"What a great idea." Dawn commented.
"WAIT! WHAT?" Iris demanded.
"It's perfect. Your Axew against Squirtle. Some training to help it get stronger." Dawn told her.
"It's not..." That's when Axew popped out of Iris' hair and faced Serena. "Axew!" Iris exclaimed.
Axew looked to her trainer. "Axew axew ax ew. (I want to try.)" the small dragon told her trainer.
Iris was very reluctant, but knew that her Pokemon needed some training. "Fine. Just be careful." She requested.
"Ew axew ew. (I can do this.)" The Pokemon replied.
She let her Pokemon out of her hair and Serena turned to her first Pokemon she got from Prof. Oak. Squirtle rubbed its eyes a bit, looking around at the others.
"Squirt le squirt? (So...what are we doing again...?)" The Water type asked.
Upon hearing that, everyone face faulted. "We're about to have a battle with Iris and Axew." Serena explained. "You up for the challenge?" Squirtle looked to Axew, who was digging its paws into the ground, as if it was ready for action. Squirtle then turned to Serena, pointing at Axew, questioning it. "Yes, we're battling Axew." Serena told her Pokemon, smiling.
Squirtle awkwardly faced Axew. "Squirtle squirt squirt squirtle? (Aren't you a little young to battle?)" Squirtle asked.
"Axew axew ax ax ew. (I'm tough to take you on.)" Axew replied. Squirtle only shrugged and got ready for a command.
"Let's see...umm...Use tackle." Serena commanded. Squitle ran towards the young Pokemon and hit it with its tackle.
Axew fell on its backside and got up, rubbing it. "Axew are you alright?" Iris asked. The young Pokemon simply nodded. "Be more careful, Squirtle. Axew is still just a baby." Iris told Serena's Pokemon.
"No need to worry. A baby Pokemon is still tough enough to take on a starter." Dawn told Iris. "What attacks does Axew even know?" Dawn asked. From there Serena took out here Poke-dex and looked up the information on Axew's starter attacks.
"Seems like Axew should know scratch." She said. "Does your Pokemon know that move?" She asked as she put her dex down.
"We'll find out! Use Scratch!" She commanded as she pointed in an action pose.
Axew ran forward and began to try Scratch. Squirtle simply dodge each scratch; not even trying. Iris saw this and got annoyed. "Squirtle isn't even trying to dodge." She stated.
"Squirtle squirtle squirt. (Axew isn't even fast.)" Squirtle stated.
"Keep up your scratch attack." Iris commanded. Axew kept on as Squirtle took the scratches on its shell.
"Squirtle, squirt squirt tle. (Well, this is embarrassing.)" the turtle Pokemon said as it scratched the back of its head.
"I think it would be best if Axew just trained with the other Pokemon, when it's ready. It needs time on its own as well." awn told Iris.
"Just to train on its own?" Iris asked.
"That's right." Dawn replied with a wink.
"Then what about my Squirtle?" Serena questioned, wanting her Pokemon to train.
"I do believe I might have the Pokemon for that." Dawn commented. She grabbed her Pokeball and threw it out. "Come on out!" She called on her Pokemon.
From there her ball burst open and it released a white looking Pokemon with green looking hair, legs, two red horns on its head and red eyes.
"Kirlia! (Ready!)" It exclaimed.
"A Kirlia?" Serena questioned. She brought out her Pokedex and opened it.
The Pokedex beeped twice as it scanned Kirlia. "It is highly perceptive of its Trainer's feelings. If it's trainer is happy, it overflows with energy, dancing joyously while spinning about." The Pokedex said.
Serena put it up and looked at it. "What type is it?" She asked, very curious.
"This Pokemon is a Psychic type. Very powerful and I caught this one a while ago. It wasn't long after I landed in Kanto." She told them.
"Then let's see how my Squirtle fairs against it!" Serena exclaimed, having full confidence in Squirtle. Her turtle Pokemon got ready for a battle with Kirlia. "Use Water Gun." Serena commanded. Squirtle fired water from its mouth.
"Use Confusion." Dawn commanded. Kirlia's eyes began to glow and made the water gun change direction. It went straight back for Squirtle. After Squirtle was hit, it was barely able to stand.
"Huh? How strong is your Kirlia?" Serena questioned.
"Not for sure! Let me see..." Dawn replied as she got out her Pokedex. After hitting a few buttons, the screen popped open on her Kirlia. "WHAT?" She screamed. "K-K-Kirlia is very strong. Much stronger than I thought." Dawn commented.
"Kirlia kir. (Thank you.)" the psychic Pokemon replied.
"How did you catch Kirlia?" Serena asked.
"Kirlia came out of no where, wanting a challenge. I used my Piplup and the battle didn't last long. Yet, Kirlia put up a great fight." Dawn commented.
"As for right now, I need to get ready for a contest. It's something I've been wanting to do for sometime." Serena told them.
"You'll be ready. I know it." Iris claimed.
"I doubt it. The first contest is in a few days." Dawn told them.
"It'll probably be best if I watch on the side lines." Serena mentioned.
That gave Dawn an idea. "I got it." Dawn stated. They looked to her in confusion. "Just watch how a contest is done from the side lines. I know I went right in, but you're gonna need extra time to train. Even to catch more Pokemon." Dawn told Serena.
"I have my doubts about that." Iris told her.
"No, she's right!" Serena stated. Iris looked to her, completely confused "If I watch to see how it goes. Then I'll be able to use what I've learned and apply that." She stated.
"Then it's settled. Also, I'd suggest you capture one more Pokemon." Dawn recommended.
"We'll have to see what comes my way, for that." Serena told her as she smiled.
"As for right now. Onto the first contest." Iris said excitedly as she threw her fist up in the air.
Serena nodded and aimed her Pokeball at Squirtle. "Time to return." she told her water Pokemon. A red beam shot at her Pokemon and the turtle dodged it. "Hmm? Come on, Squirtle. We need to get moving." She told 'em. The red beam kept on firing and Squirtle wouldn't stand still. "Hmm! Why isn't..." "I think it's because Squirtle wants to remain outside of it's Pokeball." Dawn informed her.
"Hmm? Why do you say that?" Serena asked.
"From what I've learned; especially when I first started traveling with Ash. I found out his Pikachu doesn't ever return back to it's ball." Dawn told Serena. That put Serena in thought. "At times, my Piplup will do the same thing." She commented.
"Then..." Serena looked to Squirtle. "You just want remain out, huh?" She asked. Her Squirtle nodded at her and she smiled at her. "Then let's do some traveling." She told 'em. Squirtle smile and jumped right into her arms. She giggled at her Pokemon as she caught 'em.
"On our way there, we'll get some training done. That way, after the contest, your Pokemon will be more ready for any contest." Iris told her.
"Plus, I'd say that you're going to have to help a good bit as well. Only for when I'm not around." Dawn told Iris.
Iris looked to her. "What do you mean by that?" She questioned. "Do you mean when you run some errands or something?" Iris asked.
"Something like that." Dawn replied, knowing what's going to happen after Serena's first contest.
"I have, I think, an idea as well. I could help Dawn train on our way there. That way I can get some experience before we arrive." Serena mentioned.
"Probably so. As for right now, your Pokemon need to get stronger. I'd say let them train on their own until they're ready to train each other." Dawn continued to recommend.
"I believe that'll work." Serena replied, being in thought about it.
"Then let's get moving. Where is the first contest being held at, anyway?" Iris questioned.
"Where we're going isn't far. Might take a day or two." Dawn told her.
From there they all departed, as for with Team Rocket. They were doing research on the fossils that the scientists had discovered. They were typing away on their computer. The were also looking up any information on the team that was in Kanto. Giovanni wanted to know everything about them. Especially the items they wanted. The items were Gold, Silver, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. The emerald items was fairly larger.
"Hmm! These are the items they're after. Yet, my research says more. There's also a Diamond, a Pearl and something that's Platinum. Probably more, though." He mentioned. He looked up something that looked like a Crystal and saw cave paintings. These were from their undercover scientists. Looking further in the papers he had, he saw there was something more, but needed someone else to view it. What ever it was, somehow involved more that these artifacts. It also looked like it involved the legendary Pokemon.
