A few days have passed since Ash and Misty had continued on. The tent Misty brought with her is the one they decided to share. Primarily, since Ash wants to give her privacy; as he enjoys sleeping under the stars. However, they stayed the night in the tent and Misty was now up, having fed the Pokémon and had herself some breakfast. She could tell that it was well past breakfast time and looked to the tent.
She had a worried expression on her face. Ash didn't even show up for breakfast. She knew how much of an eater Ash was and would never be this late for breakfast. She about got up to go over until the flap began to unzip. Yet, it looked like Ash had trouble unzipping it. He kept tugging at the flap while trying to unzip the tent. When he finally managed to unzip the tent, he did it slowly.
This really got Misty worried, as she had never seen him do anything like this. He emerged from the tent, and she saw him in only his white shirt and pants. This confused her, as he would normally wear his vest, but when she looked down, she noticed his bare feet. Now she knew something was up, especially since he looked a bit flushed.
(Beat) In a loud whisper: GOTTA CATCH 'EM, GOTTA CATCH EM, GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL! POKEMON! (Regular) I WANT TO BE THE BEST, THAT NO ONE EVER WAS! TO CATCH THEM IS MY REAL TEST. She cautiously walked over to him. "A-Ash? Are you okay?" she asked very worried.
"I…I…I…what happen…where…" Ash spoke. She couldn't understand him.
Misty went up to him as he collapsed onto his knees and she barely caught him. She felt his forehead and he was burning up. "Ash. You have fever." She told him.
"But I don't have a…" he almost replied until he began to grab onto her. From there he fell onto the ground. "Must…must battle. Must…must…" he tried to say until Misty picked him up.
"You're not doing anything. You're sick, Ash. You need your rest." Misty told him as she helped him back to their tent.
Ash's Pokémon saw this and went to assist her, Infernape opened the tent flap for them as Pikachu and Staraptor opened his sleeping bag. Misty placed him in and zipped up his sleeping bag. She felt his forehead again and he was very feverish. "It was that storm that we were in. I told you that you could get sick." She told him.
Ash breathed with some shallow breaths, having fallen asleep.
Misty got out of the tent and approached their Pokémon "I'm going to need some help guys." She told his Pokémon. They all went outside the tent, and she looked them all. "Since Ash is sick, I'll remain here long with most of you." She told them and looked both hers and Ash's Pokémon. He currently had Pikachu, Staraptor, Infernape, Gible, Galilei and Roggenrola. As for her Pokemon, she had Azumaril, Psyduck, Garadose, Luvdisc and Remorade who was swimming in the nearby creek. "Since there's a town that is a bit of a ways away. Staraptor, Infernape and Azumaril. You all will need to go to the town and get the medicine." She told them.
They nodded, knowing she was right. Psyduck went over to them, wanting to go as well. "Psyduck duck psy. (I'd like to go too.)" he told her.
"No, Psyduck. They're just enough to go into town. I need you here for just in case." She told him.
"Psy ay ay. (Awe man.)" he said as he walked away a bit sad.
Misty went over to them and gave them the money and a note for what medicine they would need. "You all know what to do, right?" she asked them.
They nodded while they spoke in their own language, saying 'yes'. They departed for the nearest town and Misty went back into the tent. She checked on Ash who was shivering and sweating. This had her very worried as she felt helpless until she remembered a few things. She went back outside and up to Galilei. "Can you make some ice for Ash?" she asked him. Galilei nodded and she looked to the other Pokémon.
"Let's get some water for him as well. He's sweating a bit." She told them. They nodded and went to the river with a few buckets.
Galilei began making ice for Ash as Misty grabbed a few washcloths. Going into the tent, Misty dipped the washcloth into the water and wiped his face. The Pokémon helped to put the ice in a bag and gave it to Misty. "Thanks guys." She told them and placed the icepack on his head.
He still shivered a bit and Misty noticed he moved his head. "We need something to hold this into place." She told them. From there they helped her to make something.
With Infernape, Staraptor and Azumaril. They were a few mils away from the camp spot. Staraptor was flying high while Infernape took the trees and Azumaril ran. Staraptor looked down and saw Azumaril was having a tough time keeping up. He flew down and flew next to her.
"Raptor star star staraptor star? (Would you like me to carry you?)" Staraptor asked.
Azumaril Looked at Staraptor as he flew alongside her, beginning to feel out of breath. "Azumaril. (Sure.)" she replied. Staraptor landed and Infernape helped her on his back. "Zumaril ril azu? (Can you handle this?)" she asked.
"Raptor star. Staraptor star. (I can. Trust me.)" he told her. He adjusted his wings and himself. From there, he began to flap and took off with ease.
Infernape hoped back in the tree and watched them, seeing how easy it is for Staraptor. "Infernape fernape fernape infer infernape. Nape nape infernape. (Difficult to take on a Machamp. Easy to fly Azumaril.)" he said to himself, commenting Staraptor for helping Azumaril. He knew Staraptor was strong but need more training to take on the Frontier Gyms. He pressed on from there so they could reach the town.
Back at the camp, Misty and the other Pokemon made something that would hold the icepack on top of Ash's head. While it did, she began making lunch. Knowing Ash needed his strength, she began making soup for them both, She added in a few ingredients to help Ash with his fever. She looked up and saw it was a beautiful and the two of them could've been enjoying their time together.
Currently, that would have to wait. As Ash rested, he turned over again, "M-M-Misty. Don't…please…don't." Misty perked up hearing her name and went to check on him. "No. No." He said before he sat up, knocking over the ice. "What…what happened?" he asked himself as he rubbed his head.
"Ash! Are you okay?" Misty asked, very concerned. She opened the tent flap and went in and saw Ash was sitting up. "What are you doing?" she asked in a demanding tone. Knowing full well he wasn't well.
"M-Mist…I…" he said before he about fell down. Misty managed to catch him and helped him to lay down.
"Ash! You're still sick. You haven't even recovered." She told him and she helped him to lay back down. "Now stay here. Since you're up. I made some soup." She told him. She went back outside and made a bowl for Ash. The other Pokémon might have been playing around, but they were on standby if she needed them.
She went back into the tent and saw him laying there, his eyes barely open. Going over to him she showed him the bowl. "Here, Ash. You need to keep your strength up." She told him. He attempted to get up until she gently stopped him. "Don't get up, okay?" she requested. She got a spoonful of soup and blew on it. From there she placed it up to his lips and he carefully sipped it. "There we go." She said and gave him another spoonful.
It was after a few spoonfuls Ash decided to sit up, "Ash." She pleased to him.
"D-don't w-worry, Mist." He told her. He barely managed to sit up and this worried her. She fed him another spoonful of soup, knowing he needed help. "W-why are y-you feeding me?" he requested.
"Because I know you're sick. It's why I had you laying down in the first place." She told him. She fed him more of the soup.
"Shouldn't we jusssstt…" he started to say until he fell into his sleeping bag.
"Ash! Ash!" she called out. She put down the bowl and gently shook him. He barely woke up. "Oh my. You gave me a scare." She told him.
"I probably fainted." He said until he sat up again. "I was attempting to say that we could have lunch in here. If you would like." He requested.
Misty looked reluctant. "Okay. I'll get a bowl, but you better rest after." She told him.
"You g-goooaaaaaaa-chooo!" he attempted to say until he sneezed.
She went out and got herself a bowl and joined back up with Ash. They ate together, but Misty has noticed he has slightly improved, but he needed a lot of rest. He took her hand and she looked at him. "I-I-I'll be f-fine, Mist…" he told her.
She merely shook her head with her eyes closed smiling. She put her bowl down and took his one hand into both of hers and looked into his eyes, and he hers. "I know, but I told you about the rain. I'm concerned more about you now." She told him as she started to lean in.
"I know, but you don't need to. I knew if any of us got sick, that would be me. I don't want you getting sick." He told her as he started to lean in as well.
As they began to lean in, they began to close their eyes. "You should know me. I'd rather get sick than…" Misty began to tell him as the two of them had their eyes closed and about kissed until they heard Garadose give off a growl.
They snapped out of their trance and looked outside. Misty looked back to Ash. "I'll be right back." She told him before she kissed his cheek and exited the tent.
Ash looked disappointed. "Awe man. I almost got to kiss her." He told himself. "Wait! What am I saying? She probably already has a boyfriend or she's dating Tracey." He told himself.
Misty went up to Garadose, and put her hand on him. "What is it Garadose?" she asked. Garadose gave off a few more growls and Misty looked stunned as her hair began to stand on end. "PSY…" she stopped immediately, knowing that Ash would hear her. "Psyduck is now missing? Oh great. Not only do I have to worry about Ash, but I also have to worry about Psyduck as well." She stated.
With Psyduck, he went in the same direction as Infernape, Azumaril and Staraptor. He panted as he ran. Especially while holding his head. "Psy ay ay. (Best help them.)" he said to himself as he continued to run.
Back with Misty. She went back into the tent and saw that Ash had fallen asleep again. She smiled at him and picked up both their bowls, seeing that Ash didn't finish all of his. She ran her fingers though his hair. "Get well soon, my love." She told him in a whisper and kissed his cheek again. She exited the tent and put the bowls down and placed her hands over her heart as she smiled, her eyes closed. "You always make my heart flutter. When I see you, you make me feel amazing. If we had kissed a few minutes ago, I would have told you that I love you." She said to herself. She opened her eyes and picked up the bowls to clean them.
It took a few hours, but Infernape, Azumaril and Staraptor arrived to the town. They looked around for the store of where they could get Ash his medicine. It took them a bit of time, but they found the drug store of where they could find his medicine.
"Star star staraptor. (This is the place.)" Staraptor stated.
"Zu zu azu azumaril azu azumaril. (Then lets get it and get back quick.) Azumaril told them.
"Fernape fer. Fer infernape. (I agree. Let's move.) he told them.
They went in and saw all of the medicine that was in there and they began to look for it. As they did, the employee there noticed them and was very confused at this. They continued to look at the medicine, having a difficult time finding what they were looking for.
"Fernape infernape nape nape. Fer fer nape infernape. (This is complicated. Can any of us read this?) he asked them.
They both shook their heads as the employee approached them. "Can I help you three with something?" he asked them.
They looked to him then to each other. "Azu azu azumaril ril. (Maybe he can help us.)" Azumaril stated.
"Star star staraptor. (Hand him the paper.)" Staraptor stated. Azumaril handed him the paper and he took it. Seeing what it said he understood them.
"I see. You are looking for medicine. I should have this." He told them. He looked for the medicine that was on the note and found it. "Found it." He told them. He went over to his register and rang the item up. Infernape put the money on the counter. From there he gave them their change. They departed not long after. "Best of luck." He told them.
"Star star staraptor star. (Need me to carry you again?)" he asked Azumaril as he got into position.
"Zu. (Sure.)" Azumaril told Staraptor. She got on his back and he adjusted himself again. From there he took off and Infernape followed suit.
Back at the camp, Misty had finished cleaning the bowls and felt the wind begin to pick up. Getting a bit worried she looked up and saw white cloud moving overhead. "I hope it doesn't rain again. Infernape, Azumaril and Staraptor haven't gotten back, and I haven't had the chance to find out where Psyduck went off to." She said to herself. She knew the day was getting late and she was hoping her Pokemon would be back soon.
Back with them, they were going as fast as they could, to get Ash his medicine. Infernape kept swinging from tree to tree as Staraptor flew with Azumaril on his back. They felt the wind pick up as they kept going. It was hard for Azumaril to hold onto the medicine and Staraptor at the same time.
"Azu azumaril azu maril. (I can barely hold on.) Azumaril told them,
"Star star staraptor raptor star. (Hang on as best you can.)" Staraptor told her.
The wind picked up a bit more, in which Staraptor wasn't too used to this. Especially while carrying another Pokémon. The wind picked up a bit more and the two Pokémon held on as best as they could. It wasn't any use though. Azumaril accidentally dropped the medicine, and both became frantic as it fell. Infernape saw this and attempted to catch it as he jumped until he and the medicine began to float.
Even Staraptor and Azumaril were surprised at this as they didn't know what just happened. They looked down and saw Psyduck as his eyes were glowing white. The three were confused to see Psyduck there, but didn't question this. Psyduck let the Infernape down along with the medicine. Infernape picked up the medicine and looked over to Psyduck.
"Fernape infernape nape infernape in? (I thought Misty told you to stay at the camp?)" Infernape asked Psyduck.
"Psy ay ay. Duck ay duck psy ay ay. (She did. Knew I was needed though.)" he told them.
They still didn't question him and resumed on as Staraptor continued to carry Azumaril and Infernape carried Psyduck as he held the medicine with his tail.
Back at the camp, Misty had noticed more clouds going overhead. "I'm hoping this is just a windstorm." She said to herself as the Pokemon held on. She noticed this and grabbed up the Poke-balls. "Lets get you all back into your Poke-balls." She told them and returned all of their Pokémon. She went over to the creek and looked at Remoraid. "You too, Remoraid." She told the water type as she returned Remoraid.
She went over to Pikachu and picked him up.
From there, she went back over to the tent and peeked in on Ash. He was still resting and had turned over. "Just hang in there, Ash. The others will be back soon." She said to him as she went out from the tent.
Ash had gripped his sleeping bag and grunted while he was sleeping. "M-M-Misty." He said in his sleep.
In his sleep he was looking around frantically. "Misty!" he called out before he continued to run. "MISSSSTYYY!" he shouted. "WHERE ARE YOU?" he asked as he shouted. It was then he saw her. She was walking in his dream. "Misty! Stay right there." He told her. She looked over to him and gave off a smile and waved at him. He ran to her as she continued to walk in the dream. This confused him as he thought she heard him. "Misty, wait." He called out. He continued to run to her in his dream until he saw a shadowy figure.
It approached Misty and she looked right at it. Ash freaked out. "Misty!" he called out. The shadowy figure grabbed her up and she was taken by it. Until he grabbed her hand. "I won't let go. I won't let this thing take you away from me." He told her. He pulled on her to get her free, but his grip slipped, and the shadowy figure began to take her away.
"No! No. Please, bring her back." He cried out as tears formed in his eyes. He ran towards them, but he was only running in one spot as the shadowy figure got further and further away. "Don't! Don't take her away! I haven't even told her that I love her." He cried out as his tears fell from his eyes. "MISTY!" he cried out.
"MISTY!" he cried out as he woke up; and this got Misty's attention from the outside. Beads of sweat running down his face. He wiped his forehead and looked around in the tent. Seeing where he was and breathed a sigh of relief. "Awe wow. That's a relief. Just bad dream." He told himself as he laid back down. "It seemed so real though." He said to himself.
He heard the tent flap open, and he looked to see Misty coming back in. "Ash? Are you okay?" she asked him as she came in.
"Y-yeah, Mist. Just a bad dream is all." He told her. She smiled at him and sat right next to him on her legs, Pikachu sat on the other side. "I think we're going to have a windstorm. The wind is picking up more now. I just hope the others get back soon." She told him.
"Who did you send out?" he asked her.
"I sent out Infernape, Azumaril and Staraptor. Although I think Psyduck went out there as well." She told him.
"Psyduck went too?" he questioned.
"I'm afraid so. With this wind picking up, it might take them longer to get back." She informed Ash. She looked at him, worried about the bad dream he had. "But tell me. What bad dream did you have?" she asked as she put his head on her lap while he was still in the sleeping bag.
"I was looking for you in my dream. I saw you and requested that you say there until I caught up to you." He told her. She nodded as she began to stroke his hair and run her fingers through his hair as she listened, hoping this will help him. "I saw a shadowy figure come out of nowhere and it got closer to you." He told her.
She kept on listening as he began to nod off again. "It began to take you away and I tried to goooo…" he kept on until he fell asleep again. She smiled at him and laid his head back down off her lap. "Just try to get some rest." She told him until she heard an 'Fernape' at the entrance of the tent. She looked and saw the others and just realized it. "Uh oh. Ash just went back to sleep." She told them. Infernape handed her the medicine and put Psyduck down inside the tent.
Misty scrunched up her face and shown how furious she was with him. Yet, she knew she needed to give Ash the medicine. "I'll have a talk with you later." She told him. She began to gently shake Ash. "Ash. Ash." She called out to him. His eyes barely opened as he looked to her.
"What…what is it, Mist?" he asked.
"The medicine is here." She told him. Ash began to sit up until she stopped him. "Let me help." She told him. She grabbed a spoon and poured the medicine into the spoon. From there she helped Ash up a bit and put the spoon up to his mouth. He drank it from there and she helped him to lay back down. "Now just try and to get some rest. The medicine should take effect shortly." She told him.
He merely nodded as he fell back asleep. Misty did get worried. From the dream he had reminded her of something, but she shook her head to concentrate on him. The wind kept picking up outside and she looked to the others. "Let's get you all back in your Poke-balls." She told them as she got them out. They shook their heads and looked to Ash. She understood this. "You guys want to make sure he gets better." She stated.
They gave off a nod as they each said their own names. Misty then looked over to Psyduck and hit his head. "Never go off on your own like that, ever again. You had me worried about where you were." She told Psyduck. "Especially after I told you to remain here. She stated. She sighed after that and relaxed her body. "I'm just glad you were with them and that you're back; safe and sound." She told him.
Misty then looked down to Ash and smiled at him. She ran her fingers through his hair and kissed his cheek. "Don't worry about me, Ash. I'm not leaving you. I don't plan on it." She told him. The wind picked up some more and she put her hand on him, a bit worried about the wind storm. She also looked to the other Pokémon as they watched them.
"Psy ay ay duck duck ay psy. (Tell them how you feel.)" Psyduck told her.
Seeing how Ash was asleep she took a deep breath. "I'm in love with him." She told them. They looked to her as she looked to him. "I just hope he has the same feelings for me." She told them.
The wind kept on outside and she realized it wasn't going to be easy to make dinner. The best she did was is grab a small snack from her bag. She gave the other Pokémon their food as well before she ate as well.
Later on in the night, she had fallen asleep with the other Pokémon. They all were sleeping peacefully as Ash grunted a bit. He turned over and shot up from another nightmare. He panted with more beads of sweat coming down his face. He looked over and saw Misty was asleep. He smiled at her and caressed her cheek before kissing her cheek. 'Gosh. Misty looks so beautiful as she sleeps.' He thought to himself.
He began to see the sun come up and he carefully got up and exited the tent. He saw the fire was out and he grabbed the match book from his vest pocket. He placed the kindling down first so he could start the fire.
After a few hours, Misty turned over and felt Ash's sleeping bag. She sat up slightly and looked over. Seeing that he wasn't there, she saw the other Pokémon weren't in the tent and she went outside. She saw they all were eating. She looked over and saw Ash as he was standing up. "A-Ash?" she questioned. "What are you doing up? Don't you still need rest?" she asked. Him.
He turned to face her and gave off his usual smile. "Nope. I feel much better and more wearing to get at it." He told her.
She smiled at him, but knew he needed to recover more. "You sure you're up to get to Silver Town?" she asked him.
"Of course, I am. Why wouldn't I be?" he told her.
"Oh boy. Just take it easy, okay?" she requested from him.
"Don't worry. I will." He replied. She smiled at him and kissed his cheek as she placed her hand on his arm.
Not long after, they had breakfast as well and cleaned up camp. They returned all of their Pokémon and Pikachu hopped on his shoulder.
"Pika ka. (I'm ready.)" he told Ash and Misty.
"I can tell that buddy. Are you ready as well, Mist?" Ash asked her.
"Definitely am. Let's head off to Silver Town." She told them and they headed on out.
As they headed out, back in Pewter City, Brock was on the video phone. He had a bit of a shocked expression on his face. "Are you sure about this?" Asked her. "From what we discussed a couple of weeks ago, I feel like we had to let many of old friends know what's going on at about last minute." He told her.
On the other end was none other than Delia Ketchum as she nodded while smiling.
"Yep! I definitely am. Do you know where they're going to be?" Delia requested.
"If I remember correctly, They should be going to Silver Town. That's what Dawn told me when she contacted me by her Poketch." Brock told her.
"Then it seems as if the plans are still on. We'll have to hold it after the Contest. Probably going to be in a couple of days." Delia said as she guessed when the contest was.
"The contest is real soon. I'll contact the others to see how many of them can make it in time. Do you have any of the other contact information?" he asked.
"I do not, but I do suspect that Prof. Oak does." She told Brock.
"Gotcha! Will send you the information later on for just in case." He told her. They both hung up and Brock reclined back in his chair. "Can't believe how much time has truly passed. This will definitely be a surprise for Ash, Misty and Pikachu." He told himself.
After Delia had hung up, she looked over to Looker who was looking to her as well. "This will be a bit difficult to do; but I know we can get this arrangement sorted out." He told Delia.
"Then what about my Ash? He'll be suspicious if I'm not at the house." She told him.
"We do know that, and our boss is getting things underway. Even I'm assisting with that." He told her. "We'll get you to Silver Town, but you can't be there for long. At most a few days. The other teams are still looking for you." He told her.
"My main focus is my son, Ash. I began to make preparations for this before all of this happened." She told him.
"We do understand. I'm afraid that we can't risk you going out there right now. We can protect you, but more here than at your house." He told her. "Not even your husband wanted to take this risk on you both." He told her. She looked at him in disbelief. Mentioning that her husband wouldn't want to risk this. "I know I shouldn't have said that, but we know a lot about your husband. He never wanted to put your lives at risk, in which is something we're trying not to do either." He told her. This gave her a bit of relief.
"She can go." A voice told them. They both looked at saw Looker's boss. "She can go back to her house and to Silver Town. But I want her back here afterwards. We will have agents at her house to make sure everything is maintained. We'll even do as Mr. Mime tells us." He tells them.
"Then it's settled." Looker said as he looked to her. "We'll help you out as well. All we have to do is be careful." He told her.
"Very understandable, but don't ever say that again. I know my husband as well, but he knows better." She informed him.
"I know and I'm sorry. Right now, we're doing our best to find out what's really going on with both teams and that new island. From our own undercover agents, we suspect that it has something to do with both the Legendries, your son and his friends." He told her.
