The next morning, Harry told us everything that had happened on the day of his trial. He had left with Dad at about 6am, and arrived what they believed was 2 hours early. They went by muggle transport and used the visitors entrance, hoping to make a good, thoroughly non magical entrance, seeing what Harry was being charged for. They visited Kingsley's office, where he pretended to demand that Dad give him a report on flying muggle vehicles in order to help search for Sirius, and then spent some time in Dad's office. This was where Dad's colleague Perkins arrived to tell them that Harry's hearing time had been changed and had actually started 5 minutes earlier! The fucking nerve of them! Yet another attempt to further discredit Harry by falsely making him late! Dumbledore arrived shortly after him and acted as a defence witness, much to the disapproval of the Wizengamot.

Oh yeah, that's another thing, they tried him in the biggest courtroom in front of the entire Wizengamot, as if he was a Death Eater or something! A pathetic attempt at intimidation! Of course, once Dumbledore got there any intimidation Harry felt disappeared. At first, Fudge interrupted every attempt Harry made at speaking, before Harry forced the issue. Eventually, Dumbledore was able to successfully argue for Harry's exoneration, with the help of Arabella Figg as a witness to the attack. He did not, however, pay Harry any attention whatsoever across the entire hearing. It was really bizarre behaviour that none of us could explain, and left Harry understandably very frustrated. On their way out, they saw and briefly interacted with Fudge and Lucius Malfoy, who subsequently left to talk about money.

Over the next few days we could not help noticing that there was one person within number twelve, Grimmauld Place, who did not seem wholly overjoyed that Harry would be returning to Hogwarts. Sirius had put up a very good show of happiness on first hearing the news, wringing Harry's hand and beaming just like the rest of us; soon, however, he was moodier and surlier than before, talking less to everybody, even Harry, and spending increasing amounts of time shut up in his mother's room with Buckbeak. Hermione commented that Sirius could have hoped that Harry would be expelled so that they could live and be outcasts together. Though Sirius didn't give Harry a proper answer when he asked if he could stay if he was expelled, I couldn't help but privately agree.

The fact was that living at the headquarters of the anti-Voldemort movement was not nearly as interesting or exciting as we would have expected before we'd experienced it. Though members of the Order of the Phoenix came and went regularly, sometimes staying for meals, sometimes only for a few minutes' whispered conversation, Mum made sure that we were kept well out of earshot (whether Extendable or normal) and nobody, not even Sirius, seemed to feel that we needed to know anything more than he had heard on the night of Harry's arrival.

On the penultimate night before term started, I found myself for some reason struggling to sleep. At about midnight I decided to give up for a little while and get something to eat. As I was passing Sirius's room to get to the stairs, I heard some strange sounds and conversation coming from within. The door was slightly ajar and some light was spilling out. Immediately, my eavesdropping instincts kicked in, and I paused to listen.

It sounded like Sirius's bed was creaking underneath the weight of more than one person moving around on the top of it, and I soon had this confirmed when I heard Lupin's voice.

"How does it look?" he said

"Much better than it did when we first started doing this. You've improved, Moony"

"Glad to hear it, Padfoot. Shall we get started then?"

"Absolutely"

The creaking sounds resumed, and I began to form a picture of what was going on in my mind. This was certainly unexpected, I mean, Lupin and Sirius? I have nothing against anyone LGBT, but I didn't expect them two to be doing such a thing together. I'd assumed they were only ever friends. It was possible that I was misunderstanding though, and that they could be doing something completely different that sounded like it without the proper context. So, I decided to find out by opening the door. I regretted it straight away. Not because there was anything wrong with what they were doing, but because it was a very embarrassing moment for both myself and them.

I don't want to say exactly what I saw when I opened the door, for 2 reasons. One, I know this website has rules. Two, some of you reading will be quite young, so it would be inappropriate to describe in detail. So, I'll put it this way. I saw Sirius and Lupin sitting on the bed in a compromising position.

Sirius immediately yelped and moved away from Lupin. They quickly got themselves into a more appropriate appearance.

"Ah-Ginny-Um" said Lupin, scratching the back of his head

"You didn't see that" said Sirius

"Umm, yes I did" I replied "and don't worry, I'm just as embarrassed about it as you are. If you don't want anyone to know, I'm not going to tell"

"How do we know that?" Sirius said "how do we know you're not going to just wake everyone up and tell them right now?"

"Because I'm not a complete and total dickhead" I said

"What are you even doing up at this time anyway?" Lupin asked

"Couldn't sleep. I was on my way to get a snack"

"And you just decided to stop by my room on the way?" Sirius said

"You left your door slightly open and I heard things. I wanted to make sure I wasn't coming to the wrong conclusion" I said

"You know what, I can hardly blame you. I did the same thing a couple times when I was your age. Caught Harry's dad doing stuff with a few girls before he got with Lily. Once he did this exact thing too, walked in on Remus and I, when we were only just getting started. I'd much rather he didn't know though. That goes for everyone else underage too"

"Most of the adults in the order know about this" said Lupin, but please don't tell anyone, they can know when we feel ready to tell them"

"I promise I won't tell anyone" I said sincerely, and left the room.
