"Charlie, please. Calm down," Lucifer said, forcing a smile on his face. His daughter was being her lovely, bubbly self but if he was being frank, it was getting on his last nerve. His insomnia had kept him up all night and while he loved his little girl her non-stop chatter was making his head pound.
"Sorry Dad but I'm just so excited about my new ideas for the hotel! I was thinking…"
She continued rambling as Lucifer tried to tune her out. He just couldn't with her talking. But he forced a smile and gripped his staff tighter, his head continuing to throb.
His smile slowly went more rigid as Charlie continued to talk. He could feel his annoyance grow, almost a physical pressure on his chest.
"Charlie," he said, but she kept talking not hearing.
He tried again twice more louder each time. But no response.
"CHARLIE!" Lucifer yelled, his wings unfurling without him wanting them to.
Charlie went quiet, her eyes widening at Lucifer's more demonic form. Her face showed sock and… hurt.
Lucifer immediately felt guilt fill him as he folded up his wings. "Oh Satan, I'm so sorry Char-Char."
"No, it's okay Dad," Charlie said, smile back on her face but considerably smaller. "I know I was talking too much. Sorry about being annoying."
"No. Don't say that. I'm sorry. Only a monster turns into a demon in front of their child."
"Dad, you're not a monster. It's not your fault. Everyone gets annoyed or loses control. I've lost control before too. I don't blame you at all. Just maybe next time you can tell me instead of… this."
Lucifer chuckled, trying to ignore the still present guilt. "I tried but I don't think you heard me."
"Oh! Sorry. I'll try to listen better next time."
Lucifer smiled. "Okay. I love you, Charlie."
Charlie smiled widely as she threw her arms around him. "I love you too, Dad."
Decided to lay off the Radioapple and do some father daughter stuff. Also, this was really half assed since I was running out of motivation. But the week of stories is almost over.
