Wendy was sweeping the floor of the room she shared with Carla at the Fairy Dorms. She looked over at the sleeping face of her Exceed partner, Carla.
"Must be exhausted." Wendy smiled as she set the broom down. "Well, I will get your favorite treat for when you wake up. See you soon."
Wendy dressed in one of her favorite outfits, the short skirt and blazer that looked like a school uniform she had gotten from Edolas. She walked out of the dorms, waving to Erza as she went.
"Where are you off to, Wendy?" Erza asked.
"I'm going to get a breakfast treat for Carla, " she called back. "Do you want me to get you a cake, too?"
Erza's eyes grew teary. "You're an angel, Wendy!" She declared. "Thank you!"
Wendy chuckled. "Any cake in particular?"
Erza pondered this. "One of those iced lemon ones from the bakery where you get Carla's favorite snack from will do. That way you don't have to go out of your way."
"Got it. A lemon cake for Erza. See you later." Wendy waved and headed off into Magnolia proper.
She passed by the normal citizens going about their duties. The adults nodded in respect as she passed. Even as a kid, she was respected as a member of Fairy Tail, the guild that had fought to protect the city from the invasion last year. Between that entire incident and the Hundred Year Quest, Team Natsu was ready for some time off.
She hoped they would not take too long. Her heart longed for the road, even if traveling by vehicle was dangerous for her now.
As she approached the bakery, she noticed Lucy looking around frantically at the sky.
"Lucy, what's wrong?" Wendy asked as she approached her companion.
The blonde turned to look at her. "Wendy! Just who I was hoping to run into. Is there something wrong with the sky? I feel something but I cannot put my finger on it."
Wendy frowned. She had felt something this morning and had closed herself to the space beyond the guildhall, which she was constantly monitoring and protecting. She allowed her powers to open up and nearly screamed in terror.
"You were right, Lucy!" She exclaimed when she got control of herself. "There is a rogue Anima above this spot."
An Anima, a doorway to another world. Edolas had used these doors to steal magic from Earthland, the place Wendy called him. But it could not be them this time.
"Can you close it, Wendy?" Lucy asked, worry in her voice.
"Maybe," Wendy looked around. "Everyone, this is official Fairy Tail business. Please clear this section of the city just in case." She called out.
The townsfolk, used to such problems, start evacuating the area. Soon, Wendy and Lucy were alone.
"I'm going to go Dragon Force, my control of space is better in that form." Wendy told Lucy. "I might need some extra magic power too."
Lucy held out her hand. "Take as much as you need, Wendy. The safety of Magnolia is more important. Not like we were planning a battle today."
Wendy did not point out that they rarely planned battles anyways but instead inhaled. She consumed the raw ether in the air and felt her body shift closest to that of a Sky Dragon. Her wings spread out as her eyes grew more feral and her hair stood on end and changed from blue to pink.
"This space is under my command," She declared and took it over. She started to will the Anima to close. It quickly became apparent that she would need more power.
Lucy took her hand and Wendy felt power transfer between them. She felt the Anime growing smaller and smaller. Then, at the moment of closure, it slammed open again.
"Oh no…" Wendy cried as a beam of light struck her and Lucy.
"Wendy!" Lucy screamed as the two of them were ripped apart and sent flying into another world…

"Wake up, Marinette." Her mother's voice floated from the stairs. "You're going to be late on the first day of school."
She groaned as she got up and walked over to the mirror. She looked at herself, so unchanged from her pre-teen days. and from her previous life.
"I don't look like a Marinette Dupain-Cheng," She complained. "I look like a Wendy Marvell."
She grabbed her outfit, a recreation of her blazer and skirt from back home, and put them on. She was glad her school did not have a dress code. As she put in her twin tails, she thought about how her life had been changed those years ago…
*Miraculous-Fairy Tail*
Wendy wasn't sure when she first regained consciousness. She was in a smaller body than she had back on Earthland. She had to summarize that the Anima had merged her with a child of this world. Perhaps that child had been destined to be stillborn or die young, she would not know. This body's parents, her parents she guessed, were called Tom and Sabine and they ran a bakery. They called her Marinette. Wendy was not sure she liked that name. Wendy was the name her mother, the Sky Dragon Grandina, had given her so long ago.
They were loving parents who did not spoil her but were also very approving of the independence that she quickly developed. The day after she 'awoke' in the younger body, Sabine had come to her.
"You're starting school tomorrow, Marinette. Want to help me pick out your outfit?"
Wendy was intrigued. She had never attended school in Earthland. She was a wizard and going on adventures with the team was her entire life. She had secretly seen the other children, playing together and going to school and wondered what that was like.
"Sure, Maman." She forced herself to say the word for mother as she had gone up the stairs with her.
*Miraculous-Fairy Tail*
Wendy sighed as she barely kept from tripping as she stepped up to the kitchen counter. Sabine chuckled and gave her a peck on the head before handing a bowl for cereal. She couldn't tell the woman the reason she was so klutz was that she was a Sky Dragon, meant to dance in the infinite blue.
She had kind of hoped that being sent back to a child again would have reset her aversion to travel, but buses and other vehicles still gave her crippling motion sickness.
"Is your friend Chloe going to be in your class this year?" Sabine asked her. Wendy smiled softly.
"I hope so." She took a bite of her cereal. She hoped Carla was enjoying whatever breakfast she was having right now, back in Earthland.
She finished as quickly as she could and headed out. As she prepared to cross the street, she noticed an old man in the street as a car was coming.
She crouched, summoning wind under her foot, and launched herself forward. She scooped up the man gently and completed the crossing in one lightning-fast step.
The old man was looking at her stunned in his Hawaiian print shirt.
"Are you alright, sir?" She asked him. "I didn't hurt you, did I?"
The man shook his head. "Hurt me? No, I appear to be fine. Thank for pulling me out of the way of that car, miss. I've never seen someone so fast before."
Wendy smiled at him as she set him down carefully, making sure his cane was steady. "I'm sure anyone would have done that in my steed."
The man looked her in the eyes. "They might have pulled me across to the edge we both left from, perhaps. You grabbed me up and in one step cleared the road. That's a bit beyond, I would think."
Wendy blushed. Truth be told, she had saved many older folks in Magnolia from similar situations. Being as fast as the wind had it's advantages. This man was lucky she had arrived with her powers intact, she realized.
"Are you going to be alright?" She asked. "I can escort you if you need."
The man shook his head. "No need, young lady. I believe you are about to be late for school."
The first bell rang, causing Wendy to panic. "You're right! Be careful, sir!"
She took off running for the school. It was odd, how much that man reminded her of her Guildmaster back home. She hoped the Master was doing well.
*Miraculous-Fairy Tail*
Fu stood there, scratching his goatee. "What a strange young lady." He remarked as he watched Marinette run towards the school. "Wayzz, what did you make of that?"
The turtle kwami floated up to his face level. "Well, there is no doubt what was done was courageous and selfless. However, I sensed she used magic to increase her speed before she kicked off the ground. Such flawless execution of magic in a split second."
Fu nodded. "My thoughts exactly. Giving a magic user of such skill a Miraculous would not only be unfair to those who cannot use magic, but might insult the girl as well. We will keep looking, Wayzz. That girl doesn't need a jewel to be a hero."
The kwami nodded. "Very wise, master."
They set off in search of a new holder for the Miraculous of the Ladybug.
*Miraculous-Fairy Tail*
Wendy was approaching the steps when she saw a familiar blonde girl waiting for her at the top. Rose and Juleka had stopped on their way in.
"Chloe," Rose started. "Can't you give Marinette a break, just for today? It's the first day of school."
The heiress sighed. "I'll give her a break when she asks for one, Rose. Now get going, or you're going to be next."
Rose gulped and dragged Juleka off towards their class. Wendy approached the stairs.
"Are you going to give me that break, Lucy?" Wendy asked the blonde girl.
She laughed and blew some hair from her hazel eyes. "And ruin my repetition as a bully and spoiled brat? I mean, it was your idea that I start this façade, Wendy."
Wendy smiled as she hugged her companion. "I know. Your mother would never have allowed you to stay here with me if she thought you were nice, generous, and well-mannered. We need to both be here so I can take us home when the time is right."
Lucy looked up at the place in the sky. Magic was flowing from the Anima even now, allowing them both to use their powers in these new bodies.
"Still, the fact I got rich parents twice sucks." Lucy pouted. "I mean, at least last time my mom was kind to me. Dad loved me but in his own way. Here, I wonder if Audrey and Andre actually even like me. I know I don't."
Wendy wrapped her in a side arm hug as they started off towards the classroom. "You are Lucy Heartfilia, wizard of Fairy Tail. Don't ever forget it. Think of this as an extended job undercover. I do and it helps a lot."
Lucy laughed. "I didn't think of it like that. I can't wait until we can go home though."
Wendy looked up sadly at the Anima. "Me too, Lucy. Me too."
*Miraculous-Fairy Tail*
Alya sat and watched as a blue-haired girl came in and took a seat in the second row. Then a blonde-haired girl came in and started to bully the smaller girl. They bantered for a moment before a red-haired girl came to outnumber the other girl. Alya might have been imagining it, but for a moment she thought she saw irritation flash across the Bully's face at the intruder. The blue-haired girl rolled her eyes as she got up to move. Alya held her hand up.
"Hey, want to join me, girl?"
The blue-haired girl smiled and came to sit next to her. Alya looked over at the blonde who gave a very brief smile before shooing the red-haired girl off to her seat before sitting down.
"What was up with that?" Alya asked the girl.
"That's just… Chloe." She hesitated for a moment before saying the name.
"Chloe… as in Chloe Bourgeois? The biggest drama queen in Paris?" Alya asked her voice picking up.
A little too loudly, perhaps, as most of the class started laughing. Chloe huffed.
"Second biggest. I mean, have you seen Gabriel Agreste lately?"
"No," Alya said.
"Exactly!" Chloe exclaimed. "He's hidden himself away like a recluse while his son is forced to be lonely…"
She saw the girl next to her press two fingers to her head. Chloe stopped talking and looked away.
"What are you doing, Dupain-Cheng, you look ridiculous, utterly ridiculous," Chloe said, with no real venom to her words. If Alya didn't know better, she would have thought that she was trying to keep from crying.
The girl lowered her hand from her head. "Sorry about that." She apologized. "My name is Marinette."
"Alya." Alya responded. She thought maybe, she had made a friend.
*Miraculous-Fairy Tail*
After class, Wendy and Lucy went to the boiler room, where they could talk freely. Wendy knew her telepathic message in class had helped but Lucy was still brooding about Adrien.
"I know that Adrien's situation cannot be easy for you, Lucy," Wendy said carefully.
Lucy nodded. "It's just like when my mom died. My dad just checked out. Threw himself into his world. Adrien has no one. I mean, at least I had Aquarius, you know? I asked myself, what would Natsu do?"
Wendy grinned. "So, are we burning down the city?"
Lucy laughed. "No. So then I asked what I would do after Natsu caused a massive mess. Getting him into school was my answer. But then, he didn't show up."
Wendy patted her back. "It's ok, Lucy. Before we leave, we'll find a way to help Adrien or we will take with us back to Fairy Tail."
Lucy grinned at that, holding her right hand up, bare of its mark. "I missed my guild mark. I feel naked without it."
Wendy touched her right shoulder. "Me too. I wish we could learn more about the Anima."
Lucy sighed. "If I could find my keys, we could get more info from Grandpa Crux or maybe even the Spirit King himself. I can sense they fell into this world with me, but not where."
"We can add that to the list." Wendy laughed. "As long as we don't need to ride anywhere on a vehicle."
Lucy smirked. "Sometimes, you sound too much like Natsu, Wendy. I miss him so much."
Wendy nodded. "I'll get you back to him. I promise."
"Get 'us' back," Lucy stressed. "Both of us."
Wendy smiled. Then Lucy's phone went off. She pulled it out and looked in shock at the contents of the screen.
"Oh, this isn't good."
*Miraculous-Fairy Tail*
Alya was headed home for lunch when she nearly tripped over a small object. She looked down and found a leatherbound pouch containing several keys most of them were golden in color but a few were silver. The pouch itself was dirty but the keys inside were pristine.
"What's this?" Alya asked as she turned it over. Not getting an answer, she tucked it into her pocket. Then a large stone giant burst from the side of the school.
"KIM!" IT roared at the helpless jock in his grip and started running off into the city.
"I got to go after them." Alya decided. She ran after the giant.
*Miraculous-Fairy Tail*
Fu and Wayzz observed Alya running after the giant. "You think she will do, master?" Wayzz asked.
Fu shrugged. "She is going to have to, Wayzz. I cannot go with my first choice. Take the box and place it in her path. She must find it on the way to face this danger. The Black Cat is already in place."
Wayzz bowed. "As you wish, master."
*Miraculous-Fairy Tail*
Wendy started at the screen. A giant stone monster had grabbed Kim and taken him off to the stands.
"What has that jock done this time?" Lucy asked as she went to a small box and took out her whip. They had carefully constructed it, though it was not as good as the whip made for her by Virigo was.
Wendy shook her head. "I better go alone and scout it out. Stand by in case I need help getting away."
She could tell Lucy hated that idea. "Don't lose, Wendy." She said instead.
Wendy shook her head. "Of course not. Failure would be a disgrace to Fairy Tail."
Lucy smirked. "You sounded like Gray that time."
Wendy nodded. "I miss them all."
She went to the small window that let light into this room and opened it. She willed the air around her to lift her and she shot out the open window.
Irene had taught her this, being able to fly without Dragon Force. She used Sky Dragon Slaying magic, but it had all the abilities an Air mage had as well. Flying was not a hard feat for Wendy, though it could expend magic energy quicker than running. This is why she only flew a short distance before touching down casting a speed enhancement spell on herself and going for a dash.
The streets, cars, and people flew by too fast for her to make them out or for her to be made out. Wendy saw the wreckage end at the stadium. She inhaled deeply, replenishing her magic with the ether in the wind as she fed. The battle was about to begin.
A/N: This is a fic I have been pondering for a while. I've decided to start it, though not sure when the second chapter will be out. I hope you enjoy this first one. See you next time!
