Tribes of Light
Chapter 1
Lightwing Saga: Commence
Lightwing
"There was once... a group. And this group loved all the same things, they would meet regularly... They would talk about a multitude of things... these things included but were not limited to; Wings of Fire, Harry Potter, Marvel, Pirates of the Caribbean and all sorts of video games that they had played..." a man said in an overdramatic tone, trying to capture the attention of everybody.
"Jack, what is wrong with you?" another man asked him, this was usually his opening statement; criticizing Jack.
"You dare to speak back to your captain?" Jack asked him, once again using the Captain's Card... It didn't actually exist of course, Jack simply liked to pretend he was Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean.
"You are not the legendary pirate who sailed the seven seas, you only share the same first name as him," he said, once again reminding him of that... As he had to do whenever Jack decided to get authority over the rest of the group.
"Jack and Ian, will you please stop fighting? The rest of us are right here y'know," a third person reminded the two of them, their group of four usually had to spectate Jack and Ian's little arguments until somebody stopped them.
"Can we get back on topic? That being that Daniel has just finished the first arc?" Malcolm reminded them.
"Oh... Nice job Daniel..." Jack and Ian said in unison in apologetic voices.
There was a slow clap as Daniel looked around at the group. "I... I don't have the sixth book yet... So, I can't start reading the second arc," he explained to them, he bought the box set for the first five books, and he would most likely buy the box set for probably the best arc in Wings of Fire.
"I can lend you the second arc if you'd like," Jack offered before anybody else could speak.
"No... It's alright, I'll get the books myself," Daniel declined Jack's offer.
The ground started to shake, it must be another earth-wiggle, it was like a mini earthquake, they'd been getting a crap-ton of those lately, it was basically just a tease by God, saying that he could decimate the entire city if he wanted to, but always decided against it.
Dust fell from the ceiling, cracks came from the wood, a plank fell and the four of them laughed.
"Wouldn't it be funny if the house actually collapsed?" Jack asked, getting a giggle from the other three.
"Seriously though, don't jinx it, we're due for an actual earthquake right about now," Ian explained, turning the others quiet while the house shook vigorously.
"If it did collapse, which is highly unlikely, we wouldn't die, we'd just be in a coma for a while, we'd survive, it's weak wood," Jack explained.
Another plank fell, the record before was only one plank, it wasn't exactly looking too good.
Everything started to crumble and collapse, Ian was right, they were due for a real earthquake, Jack's last thought before being crushed was of miraculously turning into a dragon and escaping the rubble.
A feeling of closeness... Not wood... And why did it feel spherical?... Or the oval kind of spherical... Whatever that word was.
Jack could hear hushed voices outside; they sounded like they were arguing or something. He tried to punch his way out, not what Sparrow would have done... He would have waited until some exterior force got him out of the prison... Like in Curse of the Black Pearl when a cannon shot broke the cell lock and allowed him to get back to the surface and fight Barbossa's crew.
A crack in his prison, punching would work, there was a total blackness inside, but in the crack, there was a calming light, he needed to go there.
He kept punching his prison wall, the light was calling him, and he wanted to know where those voices were coming from and who they belonged to.
The prison finally broke, leaving him to roll away from it, he could see the night sky and the moon above... Moons... There was more than one moon... Why was there more than one moon? No less, there were three- Oh you've got to be kidding me.
Jack turned around to see three whole dragons, one of them being just a dragonet, and the others being what must be his parents... There was no possible way that he somehow stumbled into the same nest that The Darkstalker hatched in. There was the mind reading prophet, simply staring at him in confusion, he must be seeing foreign futures, and above him were Arctic and Foeslayer, looking lovingly at their dragonets.
Jack looked back to the moons, none of them were full, which meant that he didn't have any powers... unless he inherited the animus gene from Arctic... Not likely though.
Foeslayer saw Jack looking back to her and finally spoke up. "Oh, look at his wings, they're white" she gasped. "I'm going to name him... Lightwing."
Jack looked around again, there was Whiteout. No wonder Foeslayer was the one who named him and not Arctic.
He tried to say that his name was Jack, but all he could manage was a measly squeak. Damn his newborn language skills, he would have to live with the name Lightwing until he woke up. Until then though, he could enjoy his hatchling life in the most famous NightWing's house and watch the second year of the war between the IceWings and NightWings.
