Authors Note:

This is my first more romance oriented fic where the MC is the Reader, and I am bad at romance so I doubt there will be sex scenes. More so implied by a fade to black/end of chapter. Sorry if you wanted that good steamy stuff. I am sadly better at adventure and action. I may attempt it once if the writing goes there naturally or if anyone wants.

This is an import from Ao3. And this is a choose your own adventure. Like in video games where you play the game linear and then get to a point where you choose how things will go.
The main romance choices are Dabi, Overhaul or Mr Compress. They are the main choices. One of them will be your match. Unless things open up by your choice. I know Hawks is popular, but Compress is a good guy who needs more love and imo deserves better. Twice tho? No one aint taking him from Toga. They're precious

Aside from your boyfriend, you will also choose whether to save someone and lead them to redemption or leave them to rot in prison or let them die.

Will you dutifully follow the story of My Hero Academia from a League of Villains perspective or will you diverge into new territory. As the Reader and the character in this story, you choose the path. Descend Beyond or Go Beyond, Plus Ultra

You are in Japan, finally. You thought your trip lasted an eternity. Good thing you at least traveled light. And you even had a place to stay, as you've made a few early calls and arrangements so you have things set. It may be a dingy apartment but having a roof was nice, besides you could always spruce it up.

But first, before that. Some rest and shut eye. Jet lag is a bitch. You quickly change for bed and get some sleep. After some time you wake up. You have no idea how much time passed when you first woke, because you saw that day turned to night. You groaned in annoyance how you slept away the day, but you were just THAT tired after all. Going from Europe to East Asia isnt easy. Its not like America where its close if you just go west a bit and suddenly you're in a different timezone and day and all that confusing fun stuff. But thats a complaint for another day.

First things first. You needed to actually give life to your little appartment. Brighten up the colours, put away your clothes and belongings around. Give your appartment life so its not an appartment but a home. You unpack with your few belongings and use your artistic side to pour some heart and soul into the place.

After that you realized You needed to reacquaint yourself with the local heroes of this area. So you grabbed some snacks to munch as you do your little internet research. Thats when you discover the U.A Sports Festival that just recently finished. Fascinated you watch the clips, fights and vods online. The youngsters you found yourself rooting for the most was Hitoshi Shinso and Neito Monoma.
Shinso was the underdog who had everything set against him. His quirk was considered villanous, the entrance exam was rigged to favour the flashy and combat ready quirks. Not something useful and harmless like Brainwashing! Imagine having a villain under your thrall and you just command him to come in quietly! No one gets hurt! Not the hero nor the villain nor the civilian and not even collateral damage of ruined buildings or whatever. Honestly Shinso was treated so badly for having such an optimal quirk. You were totally rooting for the little guy

Next up Monoma, well honestly. He's a nice kid, competitive and has that same brand of crazy like you tend to have sometimes. Plus, you two have very similar quirks. His quirk is called Copy. Yours is called Copycat. Essentially the same quirk, only his was a more weaker or underdeveloped version of yours you keenly observed. From your experience and watching the Sports Festival, you figured out how his quirk works.

Monoma copies a selected number of quirks via physical contact for a limited amount of time. You meanwhile had Empathic Mimicry which basically means you can 'absorb' quirks and reproduce them based on the emotions that they are connected with. Tho you were older than Monoma and developed your quirk more. You merely needed to think of a person you copied, sometimes even less. Plus unlike Monoma, your quirk didnt really have an ''off'' switch. You typically replicated and copied quirks involuntarily, just from being in proximity to someone. Basically your quirk just automatically grabbed the quirk of anyone physically close to you and you activate that persons quirk by thinking of them and how they make you feel. It depended from person to person, quirk to quirk. You could go on a walk with a person and you'd have their quirk. Or just being in the same room as someone and oops, you have their quirk.

There were times when you wished you didnt do that, because some quirks were just outright bad, you actually had to focus and 'delete' them. You didnt know how to describe it, but its just something your body unconciously does when you really dont like a certain quirk. In an odd way, you learned to manage and control the quirks. The ones you were fond of, you'd master. Its kinda the reason you were uncatchable as a villain and a thief. You were a swiss army knife of quirks, a jack of all trades. So of course, a student with a similar quirk just, pulled at your heart strings

Tho, back to Monoma. You sighed as you realized he didnt get as far as Shinso, as he lost at the Cavalry Stage. But either way even Shinso lost. The winner was the asshole you didnt want to win. Bakugo. 2nd place was Shoto Todoroki whom you thought as interesting and yet boring at the same time, quite the achievement. You didnt think someone like that was possible, but kudos to him. Lastly 3rd place was Fumikage and Tenya. You had to admit, you liked the bird man, he had great potential and Tenya? Well… he's your funny but annoying but overall boring class rep type that sticks to the rules and his quirk was that he runs very very fast. Tenya Ida seems like a good soul, but not an interesting one
"He's a side character" you commented as you finished your snacks

Now since you saw some young talent, you needed to see the heroes. Who were the big shots you needed to look out for? Putting your snacks aside and pulling up another webpage, you'd see the list:
Hero Billboard Chart JP

All Might was number 1. Yes you've heard about him. His quirk was that he was really strong and fast. Ok, got it. Maybe you can deal with that, but its best not to test it as you considered yourself a glass cannon. Strong offence and weak defence. You preferred if your bones werent shattered

Now next up was
Endeavor. He was the number 2. And his Quirk? It was problematic. It was fire. You and fire dont mix well at all. One of your favourite and most used copied quirks essentially gave you incredible ice powers and made invincible versus any ice quirker but extra weak against any fire quirker. Endeavor was lethal to you and so you marked him as a danger that you should avoid in any kind of skirmish

Hawks was number 3. His quirk was birb. Just that. Bird wings. Honestly not a threat. Clip those wings and he's toast. Mmm toast. Anywho he has a nice attitude from what clips and news you saw. He'd be a fun one to face.

Best Jeanist was the 4th top dawg and he could control threads or fabric or both. Honestly that one is like a question mark. Could he control your clothes and turn your outfit into bindings? Do you need to go full commando in a birthday suit? Honestly you had no clue. And to top it off, you didnt want to find out.

The other heroes didnt interest you much so you just glossed over and skimmed the whole Japanese Hero Billboard Chart. The top 4 were the ones you should look out for. Endeavor the most. Honestly, aside from Hawks. All of them were sticky and dangerous. But you also needed to play your cards right.

You knew that when you start going out there to work, you'd potentially face these guys and truthfully you didnt want to attract attention to yourself. Especially when some news clip caught your eye
"Nomu?" you commented to yourself as you read up what little the news sites offered. Beings with multiple quirks.
Yeah, you DEFINITELLY didnt want to showcase that you had multiple quirks stored via your copycat quirk, so you needed a game plan.

You decided to write down all the quirks you got. Or well, some of them. Maybe it was a list of most used quirks. And while you were partial to the elemental quirks. Like, they were your fav after all, you had to stick to one. Two quirks at most.

So after a bit of brainstorming you decided. Ice Manipulation was your bread and butter, your favourite element and the one you were the most proficient with. 2nd one was Sleep Powder. For non lethal takedowns. A sneak attack and your foe or any cop or guard will doze off. It was your other bread and butter who was useful for heists. You could bullshit it as a dual quirk from both parents. The idea came from seeing Shoto with a fire and ice quirk.

Next up on your agenda was a new identity. As much as you wanted to keep your original thief or villain name and persona, you didnt want to risk more problems from your past. Theres a reason you fled Europe to come to Japan. But you think you would have that handled. You just needed a bit of preparations before you can go into action
