"Alright everyone, after a short break our Semi Final matches will now commence." Don George exclaimed. "Our first match is between these two talented trainers!"
Round 3 Match 1
Georgia vs Dino
"Your luck has run out, I know your four moves and none of them are good against Druddigon." Dino commented.
"Maybe, but I'm not known as a Dragon Buster for nothing!" Georgia countered. "Bisharp use Iron Head!"
"Druddigon use Revenge!"
Bisharp launched head first at Druddigon, striking into the dragons scaly hide, causing it to flinch from the pain.
"Now use Metal Claw!"
"Counter with Dragon Claw!"
The two Pokemon swiped at each other, both leaping back and out of the way of the others attack.
"Bisharp use Aerial Ace!"
"Druddigon use Revenge!"
Druddigon let Bisharp strike them before slamming an arm across the dark type, knocking them to the ground.
"Bisharp use Guillotine!"
"Druddigon use Revenge!"
Bisharp slashed their blades at Druddigon, sending the dragon type flying back into unconsciousness.
"That, it just worked on Dino's Druddigon." Ash said in shock. "That Bisharp is officially stronger than Dino's ace."
"Best of luck against Hugh, Ash." Rosa said in shock as well.
"You both are going to need luck if you want to win against her." Elliot said in amazement.
Round 3 Match 2
"Riolu come on out!"
"Emboar let's go!"
"Riolu use Rock Slide!"
"Emboar use Arm Thrust!"
Riolu summoned a flurry of rocks towards Emboar, the large fire type striking each one pushing his way forward.
"Dew Dew!" Dewott argued from the stands, unhappy to not be fighting.
"We know Dewott, but Ash isn't allowed to switch into a different Pokemon for this tournament." Rosa responded. "And I'm having a conversation with a Pokemon, this is not how I imagined my Friday going."
"Riolu use Force Palm!"
"Emboar use Heat Crash!"
Emboar leapt into the air, engulfing himself in flames before crashing down on Riolu.
"Elliot, what are the chances that Riolu lives that?" Rosa asked.
"Not great." Elliot admitted.
"Riiii." Riolu said, pushing Emboar up slowly, his hands and eyes glowing yellow. "O-LU!"
Emboar was thrown off of Riolu as the Emanation Pokemon stood strong still.
"Riolu use Bullet Punch!"
"Emboar use Rollout!"
Ash and Riolu's eyes glowed in sync as Riolu rushed forward, striking the curled up Emboar.
"Riolu use Rock Slide!" Ash called out.
As Emboar veered back around towards Riolu, the small fighting type sent a flurry of rocks out towards the fire type, slowing down his progress even knocking him around.
"Emboar use Head Smash!"
"Riolu use Force Palm!" Ash exclaimed.
Emboar rushed forward, leaping head first at Riolu as the small fighting type thrusted both of his hands forward, countering at just the right moment, stopping all of Emboar's momentum instantly.
"Riolu use Bullet Punch!"
Riolu sent a quick punch downwards as Emboar tried to push themselves back up to no avail being knocked out as a result.
"Anyone else find it strange Riolu had glowing hands there?" Jeb asked.
"Aura, it's a long story other than that." Rosa admitted.
"But now is the real challenge, last time Ash fought Dino he lost to that Druddigon, and now Georgia is even stronger than it." Elliot reminded.
Final Match
"Welcome everyone to the final match of the Clubsplosion Tournament. We've had a lot of exciting battles, but now it's all led to this. A match between Georgia and her Bisharp, and Ash and his Riolu." Don George proclaimed. "Now let's hear it for our competitors!"
"Alright Riolu, I choose you!" Ash called out.
"Let's go Bisharp!"
"Riolu use Force Palm!"
"Bisharp use Aerial Ace!"
Bisharp rushed at Riolu, the small fighting type leaping out of the way just in time, planting his palm on the steel type as they flipped over them.
"Wait, I thought Aerial Ace couldn't miss." Rosa pointed out.
"And I thought that a Riolu couldn't harness aura like Ash's and yet here we are." Elliot pointed out.
"Bisharp use Metal Claw!"
"Riolu dodge it with Blaze Kick!"
Riolu engulfed himself in flames, dodging the flurry of Bisharp's blades.
"That Bisharp is scary fast, I don't know if Ash and Riolu will be able to get a hit without taking one themselves if they keep playing it close." Stephan commented.
"What choice do they have, his only ranged move is Rock Slide and that's not going to do much against a steel type like Bisharp." Hugh reminded.
"Riolu use Rock Slide!"
"Bisharp use Iron Head!"
Riolu summoned forth a flurry of rocks towards Bisharp as the steel type bashed through each one without loosing speed.
"Riolu use Bullet Punch!"
"Bisharp use Aerial Ace!"
Riolu raced forward, only to be struck by Bisharp's blade, knocking him to the ground.
"I'll admit Ash, you and that Riolu are something else, making it this far against the odds, but it ends here. Bisharp use Guillotine!" Georgia declared.
"Riolu!" Ash called out as Bisharp sent their blades flying down on the small fighting type.
"Riiiii." Riolu said, focusing, his hands in front of him as a yellow orb formed in them. "OLU!"
The orb launched forward, knocking into Bisharp and sending the steel type flying back.
"What was that?" Rosa asked in shock.
"Only one move that works like that." Jeb commented.
"Aura Sphere!" Ash exclaimed as Riolu stood back up. "All right Riolu, use another Aura Sphere!"
"Ri!" Riolu exclaimed, sending another ball of yellow aura out at Georgia's Bisharp as it was still recovering, knocking it onto it's back once more.
"Bisharp get up and use Aerial Ace!"
"Don't let up, use Blaze Kick!" Ash called out.
Riolu engulfed himself in flames, rushing towards Bisharp before leaping into the air, out of the way of their blades, before crashing back down on the steel type as it no longer struggled trying to get up.
"And we have our winner!" Don George declared.
"Bisharp return!" Georgia called out.
"Hey Georgia, it was a good match." Ash said, walking over to her only for the trainer to walk away from him. "I, alright." Ash said with a sigh, as he went to collect the prize for his victory.
Later at the Pokemon Center
"To Ash and his Clubsplosion Victory." Elliot said holding up a glass.
"Here here." Hugh cheered.
"And to us beating him next time." Stephan declared.
"Ash? Sorry to interrupt, but this was left for you." The Nurse Joy on duty said, handing Ash an envelope and a flower.
"Who's it from?" Hugh asked.
'Ash, sorry I left so quick, I might have a hard time smiling in the face of defeat. That doesn't mean you can consider yourself better, you just got lucky, and next time we meet things will play out a lot different.' -G
"It's from Georgia." Ash admitted. "But why a flower, what even is this?" Ash questioned.
"It's a Scaevola Aemula." Rosa said in surprise.
"English?" Hugh asked.
"Latin, but its also known as a Fairy Flower, I've never heard of a white one before though." Rosa admitted.
"Well, the important part is the promise of a challenge next time, and I'll still be ready for her." Ash said confidently.
Authors Notes
A few this time so we'll start with Riolu. Normally when choosing moves I stick to spin offs from the gen the story takes place in, but I wanted to go with a gen 4 spin off since Riolu is a generation 4 Pokemon. There was a event mission in the DS game Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, in which after completion you could transfer a special Riolu that knew the move Aura Sphere to a main line Pokemon game. So that is where I got the idea to give Riolu that move early.
As for the Scaevola Aemula, I did a lot of research to figure this one out, but that is the closest to the kind of flower that Flabebe hold in our world. Why is that important? Well Flabebe are the first fairy types you are likely to encounter in X and Y, and the white Flabebe are the rarest of them all, and the fairy type was the final and largest nerf to the dragon type, so Georgia knowing of the flowers does make a level of sense in that regard.
