It was the afternoon following the end of the Clubsplosion, and while some trainers were already long gone, others were just leaving, and some hadn't even left yet.

"You didn't have to come with me Ash." Jeb said as the two walked north of Mistralton City. "I mean you'll have to go back on your own in the end."

"I know, but I wanted to tag along, besides Rosa and Elliot are fine taking the afternoon to relax." Ash commented. "Also you never told me what you were researching out here."

"I have special permission to enter into Twist Mountain to do some research on it." Jeb said.

"What kind of research?" Ash asked curiously.

"Fossils, ancient secrets, those kinds of things." Jeb commented. "Just like with the dessert Watchog's vision will help me in finding hidden passages."

"Sounds great. You know you could wait around for a day or two, we'd be more than happy to come along through the mountain." Ash said.

"It's not that simple, I applied for the permit months ago." Jeb commented.

"So it would not be possible for us to join then?" Ash asked.

"Not at this time, it's too close to the heavy weather season in there and you either need to be a champion or have their approval to explore." Jeb admitted.

"Speaking of heavy weather, does it feel like the wind picked up out of nowhere?" Ash asked, holding onto his hat.

"It shouldn't have gotten this bad already out here." Jeb said, tightening the string on his hat as rain began to fall.

"Is this even the usually expected weather?!" Ash shouted.

"No, normally it's pounds of snow, not rain!" Jeb replied.

"Then something else is up." Ash said. "Braviary let's go!"

Braviary swooped out of his Pokeball picking Ash up as he rose into the skies, trying to find how the storm had blown in so quickly.

"What in the?" Ash said in confusion, seeing what looked like two tornados battling in the air, the rough winds making it difficult for Braviary to stay up. "Alright, let's head back down."

Back on the ground

"What did you find?" Jeb asked.

"Two tornados are battling it out up there." Ash said, catching his breath.

"Tornados?" Jeb asked. "No, it couldn't be, here?"

"What, what is it?" Ash asked.

"There's a legend of a group of storm Pokemon that used to roam Unova, Tornadus and Thundurus, but that's all they are, just legends." Jeb commented.

"Yeah, if you spend enough time with me you learn that most of those old legends are pretty true." Ash said.

"What, next you're going to tell me Arceus exists on the mortal plain?" Jeb joked.

"Yeah, I saved his life a while back." Ash said, focusing. "Alright Pikachu, ready?"

"Pika!"

"Wait what are you doing?!" Jeb exclaimed.

"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash cried out, pointing straight into the sky towards where he'd seen the two tornados.

A bolt of electricity shot up into the air, piercing the storm clouds rising higher still.

"What is your plan Ash?" Jeb asked.

"Isn't it obvious?" Ash asked.

"No! It really isn't!" Jeb yelled.

"If Tornadus and Thundurus are up there, I'm bringing them down to stop this storm." Ash said confidently.

"You think you can take on TWO legendary Pokemon?!" Jeb exclaimed.

"Sinnoh League final four, look it up sometime." Ash said as the tornados began to descend towards them. "Get ready Pikachu it's show time."

"Pi!" Pikachu responded confidently.

"Bra!" Braviary chirped recovering fully.

"Alright, Pikachu use Charge Beam! Braviary use Aerial Ace!" Ash called out.

Pikachu and Braviary raced towards the descending tornados with Braviary flying straight into one as Pikachu shot a beam of electricity into the other, the winds parting to reveal a blue and a green Pokemon respectively.

"They really do exist." Jeb said in surprise.

"And now that I can see them, we can fight them." Ash said. "Pikachu use Thunderbolt! Braviary use Slash!"

Pikachu and Braviary were ready to attack as the green Pokemon rushed at Ash and Jeb, dodging both of Ash's Pokemon, only to be blocked by the blue Pokemon. The blue Pokemon knocked away it's green counterpart for the moment before falling to the ground.

"You, you saved me." Ash said in shock.

"Thund." The blue Pokemon said.

"That's Thundurus, it's an electric and flying type according to legend, it should be able to take on Tornadus on it's own." Jeb said, recovering from his shock.

"Unless, he's been trying to stop him for a while and Braviary and Pikachu made that even harder." Ash said.

"Ash, you aren't seriously planning on facing Tornadus on your own." Jeb said.

"I already told you, I've faced legendary Pokemon before, but I have another idea." Ash said, his eyes gaining a yellow glow. "Just don't freak out about this."

"Freak out about whaaaat are you doing?!" Jeb said in shock once more seeing sparks generate from Ash's hands.

"Alright Thundurus time for a boost!" Ash said, slamming his charged hands onto Thundurus as it slowly began getting back up. "Pikachu give it everything you've got!" Ash exclaimed.

"PIKACHU!!!!" Pikachu exclaimed, sending the mother of all thunderbolts into Thundurus, giving the legendary a recharge.

Thundurus stood back up as Tornadus approached, sending a Thunder Punch straight forward, slamming his fist into the other legendary Pokemon, knocking them away.

"Why are they fighting?" Jeb asked in exasperation. "And how did you do that thing with your hands?!"

"They're likely in a power struggle, seen that plenty of times before, as for the hands, I can harness my aura and apparently thats how." Ash admitted.

"So what do we do?" Jeb asked.

"My plan is to help the side that actually protected us." Ash said. "Braviary use Slash!"

Braviary swooped around Thundurus, slashing his talons across Tornadus as they were recovering from Thundurus's attack before rejoining along side Thundurus.

"Thund!" Thundurus roared in appreciation, rushing forward, grabbing Tornadus before the two flew back off.

"I guess that solved itself." Jeb said.

"I doubt it, I think all that happened is Thundurus moved their battle to somewhere else." Ash said.

"Let me guess, you've seen that happen before." Jeb commented.

"Unsurprisingly, yes I have." Ash responded. "But in the end the important part is that they've moved away from here."

"Ash, you're a great guy and a strong trainer, but every time I meet you, weird things happen." Jeb remarked.

"Maybe the problem is you." Ash joked. "Either way, good luck with your research and I hope it goes well."

"Good luck to you in the Unova League, I'll be rooting for you." Jeb remarked, shaking Ash's hand as the two went their separate ways.
