So I've now we get to how the problem will be solved and it will involve the Mutant Babies! I initially was thinking it was going to be Taylor who is the one who leads this adventure proving her skills even though she's the weakest of the group but then I realized no Zeb was the one who instigated the fight with Taylor because of her envy over not being the favorite and Zeb is growing to be the leader of her team so this should be Zeb's path to redemption now that she's had her talk with Ichabod
The following day Ichabod and Marzipan took it easy Ichabod still was recovering from his wounds and Marzipan...She kind of just wanted to hang around the house and just be with Ichabod while he recovered...So that left the Mutant Cubs wandering around and they decided to check on how Bill and Samantha were doing as they practiced for the contest…
They went into the dance studio where Bill and Samantha were practicing and...They did look good! Bill wearing only his pants no shirt so his worry upper half could better breathe and Samantha wearing a black leotard she was also wearing no shoes not in the least concerned for her delicate little human toes being stepped on by Bill's big bovine hooves as they danced around the room it was downright mesmerizing to watch so the cubs simply sat and watched for a few hours, some even noshing on snacks they had brought!
Zeb was munching on her favorite band of potato chips (And yes she knew they were called 'crisps' here in the UK but because Ichabod and Marzipan called them chips she called them chips)
Looking over at Taylor, Zeb timidly offered some to her Herd Sister, but the Flamingo Chick declined muttering something under her breath about 'Sea salt and vinegar' and while the decline about the favor was genuine Zeb could see in Taylor's expression she was still upset even after they talked out their differences, maybe not so much about the insults to herself anymore but about how Ichabod's intervention in their fight led to him getting whipped.
Zeb still felt horribly guilty for the whole thing...She knew it was all her fault, she lashed out at Taylor all because of her envy at Taylor's status as the perceived favorite if she hadn't done that Ichabod wouldn't have been whipped trying to get them to stop fighting.
Zeb went back to her home by herself mulling all of this over, she didn't even greet her adoptive Humanimal parents as she went in her room to think Ichabod and Marzipan would never be able to participate in the Dance Contest if they couldn't change back into teenagers! But to do that they needed a third Scarlet Night Lily! But where could one be found? The Snake Mutant in Third Earth who opened a portal seemingly to the hidden Valley of the Unicorns to get the first two seemed to only be able to do that once really infuriating...Zeb really wished that snake had grabbed three lilies instead of just two!
Looking out her bedroom window and seeing the stars on this clear summer night...Thinking about the movies Marzipan showed her where characters wished on stars and stuff like that...With no other options left...Zeb got on her knees in prayer postion and quietly prayed or wished she wasn't sure if there was a difference because she hadn't been taught for a way to get one more Scarlet Night Lily…
And as she slowly opened her eyes and extraordinary thing happened! It seemed like one star in particular was coming closer...But that couldn't actually be a star...Stars are actually larger than planets...But the bright light became like a Fourth of July Sparkler as it came closer and closer to her window...Zeb thought she might scream but she was also too dazzled by the beauty and then…
BANG!
Zeb winced and closed her eyes as if some fireworks had gone off right in front of her than when she opened her eyes she gasped!
Standing...Or rather floating before her was a translucent spirit but he was in fully color not gray like how cartoon ghosts were often depicted a man who looked like a wizard like Merlin...He had a long white beard and wore a tall hat and robe that was dark blue and covered with yellow stars!
Who is this character? We'll find out next chapter but once again this chapter with the Mutant Babies is in honor of Svengoolie showing The Dark Crystal as part of his double feature for the last week of October, and it really seems fitting because the star is similar to the shooting star in the First Muppet Movie
