Chapter 13: Team 182 Zone:
Later that evening, as the sun was beginning to set; the trio were carrying an injured Void up the mountain; away from Optical Illusions, where they rescued SNT from the mad doctor hours ago.
The mountain was like a spiral, it had a steel looking observatory at the top, and a golden statue of Doctor Eggman raising his arm up.
As the girls approached a metal door while holding the injured robot, SNT slowly walked towards the door and began to knock.
But surprisingly, a familiar voice began to sound from the intercom,
"Attention visitors, this is Maria Robotnik the Hedgehog from Team 182. The good doctor isn't home at this time, please leave your message after the tone." The voice sounded,
Upon hearing this, SNT began to feel concerned. She decided to knock on the door again,
"Maria?! It's me SNT!! I know you're in there." SNT remarked, "You always leave the door open to outside guests. And the fact that you recently locked your doors tells me that something is wrong. Please Maria, let me in!!!"
SNT then started banging on the doors repeatedly,
"Maybe she's not home?" Catney wondered.
"Maybe this was a bad idea coming here." Saki chimed in frustrated.
After much knocking, the door slowly opened and a cute yellow hedgehog with long hair, a blue dress and white gloves peeked her head out the door to see who it was.
SNT gave a simple smile to her friend, but upon closer inspection the chimera noticed that Maria wasn't doing very well. Her body was frail and could barely keep herself awake. Her eyes were barely open and had bags under them. Before SNT could say anything, Maria spoke,
"SNT? What are you doing here at this hour?" She asked nervously, "Don't you know it's dangerous to be out here when Content Control is running amuck?"
Catney put her hands over her mouth in shock as Saki grabbed onto Void to prevent him from falling, "Wait! Maria! How do you know about Content Control?!!!"
Maria explained, "Content Control has been hijacking every television channel, and every radio frequency to broadcast only news reports from Content Control HQ. Any other radio or TV channel not affected by this switch is subjected to have their channels terminated as soon as possible."
"So, these f*ng clowns really are censoring this world, huh?" Saki growled. "I still cannot forgive them after they put their hands on nii-chan!!!"
SNT slowly approached the yellow hedgehog, "Hey Maria, listen to me. We need your help... Do you remember a blue anti-virus named Void?"
Maria's eyes fully opened, "Void?!! Of course, I remember Void. He's the little robot who saved us back on the island of Genesis right? With the help of Sonic and his friends of course." She giggled, "How is he?!!!"
SNT bowed her head in sadness, "Well... let's see, we got into a fight with this huge robot looking spider, Void ended up blue screening because of it... and now he's infected with a virus. We don't know what type of virus it is, or why the spider infected him. But we need your help to fix him... please?!!!" SNT shouted as she grabbed Maria's hands.
Maria was in shock, "Wait, what?!!! Did you say... robot looking spider?!!!"
"Yeah, is there something wrong?" SNT asked worryingly, "Should I be worried about him?"
Maria quickly looked left and right around the area to make sure no one was watching them.
"Alright girls, come inside quickly!" Maria shouted as she gestured with her finger for everyone to come in. "I'll explain everything."
Catney picked up Void once again, and the trio walked inside the observatory.
Inside the observatory, was a 2-story laboratory containing computers, test tubes, machines and stairs leading up to the bed rooms. There was also a secret door which was used for Team 182 members only.
As the trio placed Void onto the closest hospital bed, Maria reached into the nearest cupboard to pull out a couple of tools.
Once she placed the tools onto a rolling table, she rolled the table next to the bed; and began to take out a notepad and a pen.
"Alright little robot, let's take a good look at you!" Maria smiled as she began to inspect the blue robot's body.
Maria began her inspection grabbing a rubber mallet from her toolbox. She began by tapping his arms and legs to see if there was any movement or reflexes in his body. "It appears that his arms and legs aren't moving, this is worrisome."
The yellow hedgehog then put the mallet away and grabbed a stethoscope and began to listen for any pulse in the robot's body. "Hmm, that's odd... there's no pulse!"
Now usually at this point, Maria would begin her procedure by performing CPR followed by defibrillation to the heart, but because Void is a robot, she needed to attempt a different procedure.
Maria thought for a moment, she then lifted her finger up, "SNT! Girls! I may have just the tool that can help us!"
The good doctor lodged her hand deep inside the toolbox, and pulled out a small machine that looked like a metal rectangular prism. It had rainbow-colored blocks in the front, and a green I.V (Intravenous) tube connected on the side.
She placed the machine next to Void and injected the I.V tube in his arm.
Maria then pressed the rainbow-colored button on the front panel, and the machine began to beep.
The girls looked at the doctor confused, "So Maria, would you mind explaining to me what you're doing?" Catney asked.
Maria turned towards Catney, "Oh, I just connected Void to a system defragmenter, through an I.V filter. In a couple of hours, Void's body will finally be restored and this blue little robot will be fully operational." Maria smiled as she looked down at the unconscious Void.
SNT was astonished, "Wow Maria! I'm surprised! Tell me, how did you learn to perform such a task like fixing anti-virus robots?"
Maria smiled as she turned her attention towards the chimera, "Well... after Void rescued me from Optical Illusions, I had to study more about Cyber Security. So, I spent the last few months taking an online course from one of the ministers of the U.A.V. And now I have so much knowledge pertaining to viruses, computers, software and everything, including anti-virus robots like Void over here."
All of a sudden, Void slowly began to open his eyes, only to be welcomed by the 4 girls who were surrounding him. "SNT... Catney... Saki... and Maria Robotnik?... Is that you?!!"
Excited, both SNT and Maria hugged the blue robot while Catney and Saki walked up to him.
"Void!!! You're back! I missed you so much!" SNT shouted,
"SNT... I missed you too." Void said with a weak voice,
Void then turned his attention to Maria, "Doctor Robotnik? Is it really you? Where am I?"
Maria placed her hand over her chest and bowed before him, "Void Ranger, welcome to Team 182." The doctor announced as she waved her hand around for Void to observe his surroundings.
Just then, both Catney and Saki walked up to Void and held onto his hands, "Welcome back Void, you had us worried for a moment back there." Catney said,
Void smiled at Catney, "Well Catney... I'm just glad to be back here with all of you."
Suddenly, Saki slapped the poor robot on the side of his head, "Don't f*ng scare us like that!!!"
Void simply smiled as he slowly rubbed his face.
The robot then began to sit up on the hospital bed and focused his attention on the good doctor, "Umm, excuse me... Miss Robotnik, I overheard you talking about taking online classes with the U.A.V. And I was just wondering... can you please tell me who is this minister that's been teaching you these private lessons?"
Maria sat next to him and held Void's hand, "Yes, his name is Sophos. Or Minister Sophos as he prefers to be called."
But upon hearing this, Void quickly slipped his hand away from Maria as he got out of bed shocked. "Maria!!! Did you just say Minister Sophos?!!!"
"Okay... calm down Void." Maria said as she raised her hands to try to calm the robot down. "Yes. I did mention Minister Sophos."
Void backed away from Maria looking even more shocked,
"Is something wrong?" Maria asked looking worried,
Void slowly walked towards the nearest computer, and clicked on the internet browser. Once opened, the robot typed in the latest cyber security news article. He then pressed the print button for the printer to print the webpage.
Once the printer finished printing the article, Void took the paper and brought it back to the bed where he showed the article to the girls.
"Ladies, I'm not sure if any of you are aware of this... But Minister Sophos went missing a few weeks ago, after he got harassed by Content Control and their Parrot virus." Void announced as he pointed to the first paragraph of the news article.
Catney and Saki were shocked upon hearing this,
"After he went missing the U.A.V spent weeks trying to locate the missing minister and bring him back to U.A.V headquarters, but unfortunately there was no such luck." Void explained,
Void then turned his attention to Maria, "But you, Miss Robotnik, you last spoke to Minister Sophos when you requested for him to teach you everything about cyber security."
He then held onto her hands, "Please Maria, is there any information you can share with me, or the U.A.V regarding the whereabouts of Minister Sophos?"
But Maria bowed her head in sorrow as she let go of Void's hands and turned her back on him, "I'm sorry Void... but I'm afraid I can't. If I reveal Minister Sophos' location, Content Control will go after the both of us. And they will execute us with a blue screen of death if they discover him."
Worried for her safety and the safety of the minister, Void slowly approached Maria and held out his hand, "Maria... please..."
"I'm sorry... I can't." Maria responded. "Under strict orders from Minister Sophos himself, I cannot tell you anything."
Meanwhile, Saki was trying to piece everything together, "So now that Void is back on his feet, would you mind telling me just what the f*k is wrong with him?!!!"
Maria suddenly turned her attention to the ascension sock, "Ah yes, the diagnosis. Ahem." Maria said as she began to clear her throat, "I have deduced that this little robot recently got infected by a virus called Spider.exe.
"From listening to Minister Sophos' lecture, Spider is a very simple virus that hangs your machine once executed. This will happen indefinitely... that is, unless you have methods of removing the virus.
"Once the registry keys are clean, a system defrag is required to optimize the hard drive." Maria said as she turned to face the blue robot. "And this adorable little robot will be good as new." Maria giggled as she placed her hand on the boy's shoulder.
Void was surprised by her knowledge, "Wow... thank you for the much-needed information Maria, I really do appreciate it."
Maria then smiled while giving out a soldier salute, "I'm always happy to help. We of Team 182 always strive to provide the best care and support for all our visitors."
She then looked up at a nearby clock hanging on the wall, "Oh goodness, I'm afraid that now is a good time to get some rest. After all, it's nearly nightfall."
The good doctor then held onto the girls and began to lead them up the stairs to the second floor, "I'll show SNT and the girls to their rooms. Unfortunately for you Void, you will have to spend the rest of the night here; as you will have to wait one more hour for your system defragmenter to finish cleaning your system."
Minutes later; on the second floor, as Catney and Saki pulled open their bed sheets to get themselves ready for bed, Maria walked up towards SNT, wanting to talk to her.
"Hey SNT... I noticed your powers were starting to get weaker and weaker since the battle on the island of Genesis last year." Maria said as she held the chimera's hand, "Tell me SNT, is there something troubling you?"
SNT bowed her head, "I'm afraid so... I think the physics of this computer world are much different than what I'm used to. Maybe that's why I'm not as strong as I used to be." She wondered,
Maria giggled and took SNT's hands, "There's no need to worry SNT, I know just the trinket you'll need if ever you're in any sort of pickle."
Maria reached into her pocket and pulled out something that managed to surprise the chimera, "BEHOLD!!!"
SNT was shocked, "OH MY GOODNESS! MARIA!!! IS THAT SHADE'S COMMUNICATOR?!!!"
Maria nodded, "Yes, it is! You must have dropped it when you went inside the interdimensional portal. Tails recently found it, but he forgot to give it to you when he saved you and Void from the Tech Alps."
SNT slowly grabbed the communicator and wore it on her wrist. Shade the Echidna, a battle hardened old friend that helped her return home when she was stranded in a dimension created through grief. A slight smile formed on the chimera's muzzle as she thought about all the teams she would argue with that stubborn echidna. A tinge of nostalgia pulled at her heartstrings and tempted SNT to call Shade immediately just to hear her voice once more. She shook her head, now wasn't the time to call for her.
She then leaned forward and hugged the good doctor, "Thanks Maria! Now I can finally contact Shade the Echidna whenever I'm in any danger! Oh Maria! Thank you so much!!!"
"You're welcome SNT." Maria smiled, "Well, sweet dreams ladies."
"Wait Maria," SNT said, "are you okay? You look tired."
"Tired? That's funny SNT," Maria laughed.
The chimera crossed her arms, "What about that spider robot, how do you know of it?"
Maria's eyes widened, "Because um... because I... Let's save that story for another day, okay? You look VERY tired."
Before SNT could respond, Maria waved her hand towards the girls and closed the door. The chimera sighed and went to her bed.
As the girls laid on their beds and slowly began to fall asleep, Maria began to walk downstairs.
She then pressed a button at the bottom of the stairwell which shut off the lights.
The doctor then walked over to the secret room for employees only, and opened the door to go inside. But unbeknownst to the yellow hedgehog, Void was secretly watching her.
Once the door was shut, Void quietly got up from the bed, and removed the I.V filter from his arm. As he got off the bed, Void's stomach ache came back, prompting the blue robot to clutch his stomach.
He then slowly approached the secret door and took a deep breath; while placing his hand on the door knob. As he looked on at the door, his body began to glow blue, as his aura was activating.
"Alright Maria, you're a wonderful doctor, you're my best friend, and I like you a lot. But Sonar tells me that you're hiding something from me, and I intend to find out what it is." Void whispered as he opened the door to walk inside.
Once inside the secret room, Void slowly closed the door and turned on the lights,
When he finally reached the center of the room, he was surprisingly greeted by an army of what looked like blue armored robots with a floating yellow head and disembodied hands. They all wore helmets with bright yellow goggles and had two buttons on each side. They were all deactivated.
Void was shocked upon what he discovered, "What in the hell are those things?!"
Suddenly, Void heard a familiar voice from behind; which caught him off guard, "They're called D.R.A.C units."
Void turned around to discover Maria was behind him the entire time.
Shocked, Void took a few steps back, "Doctor? I mean... Miss Robotnik? Were you spying on me the whole time I was in here?"
"Of course, I was; silly!" Maria smiled as she grabbed Void's hand, "I had to check up on you."
Both Void and Maria then turned their attention to the army of robots standing in front of them.
"So, Maria, what exactly are those things?" Void asked as he walked closer to the robots to inspect them.
"They are called Drone of Repair and Care units. Mass produced robots created for the sake of helping people." Maria explained.
But something about these robots rubbed Void the wrong way, "Wait a minute..."
He then closed his eyes and slowly began to remember his last fight with a robot that looked similar to the robots standing in front of him.
As the fight escalated, Void ran closer and closer towards the 2 combatants, he tackled Tarantula and held firmly onto his head. SNT let out a barrage of punches towards the arachnid's body. Leaving dents on his frame.
Tarantula powered his eye beams and blasted SNT away from him.
"SNT!" Void shouted. Tarantula grabbed the blueberry boy with his claw. One of the arachnid's tentacles deployed a metal syringe out and stabbed Void in the chest.
The blue robot's eyes shrunk and his pupils turned red. He then took his last breath. Tarantula removed the syringe out of Void's body. The blue robot fell on the ground as he began to cough binary coded blood uncontrollably.
Tarantula then grabbed Void by the foot and raised him to his eye level, he let a wide wicked smile across his faceplate. As he transformed one his tentacles into his sawblade.
Void looked towards Tarantula with his eyes barely open; ready to face the dreaded blue screen.
"Wait a minute... I remember now!" Void said as he finished remembering his last battle with the spider looking robot.
The robot he previously faced had different metals, had yellow floating arms and a purple floating head... It was also a D.R.A.C unit.
Suddenly, he drew his sword and aimed it directly at the frightened hedgehog,
"Void?!!! What do you think you're doing?!! Have you lost your mind?!!!" Maria cried,
Void gave the frightened doctor a stern look, "Alright Doctor Maria Robotnik the Hedgehog, this is an interrogation. You are gonna tell me just what the hell are those things, and why they look similar to an 8-legged spider that almost killed me?!!!"
Cornered and fearing for her life, Maria got down on her knees and prayed for the blue robot not to kill her, "Alright!!! I'll tell you everything!! Just please put down your weapon!!!"
Void slowly lowered his sword and offered his hand.
The hedgehog slowly grabbed the robot's hand, as he helped her back to her feet.
"Alright Maria, tell me everything you know about that large spider looking D.R.A.C unit." Void ordered, "tell me what's its purpose? Why was it programmed to kill? And what the hell does it want with SNT?!"
Maria slowly took a deep breath and began to explain, "This D.R.A.C unit is not an it. It's actually a he. And he has a name."
Void looked at her suspiciously, "Really? What's his name?"
Maria walked closer to the robot and whispered into his ear, "His model name is NBM-800, but his given name... is Tarantula."
Void and Maria then slowly looked at each other face to face,
"How was he created?" Void asked,
Maria then began to walk towards the D.R.A.C units that were standing in the room.
"We found him somewhere on the shores of Angel Island. Back when SNT was captured by my cousin... Ivo Robotnik." Maria began to explain as she began to have flashbacks about the discovery.
"SNT! SNT! Where are you?" Maria's voice called out, "Me and the girls are alright, Eggman and Infinite are gone now."
Maria then tripped and fell on the sand, she got up and dusted off her dress, "What in the..." she stared in awe at what she tripped on... a robotic spider leg buried in the sand, "What is that? I have to tell Nicole and Daniela about this." She ran off to find her friends.
"After we discovered him and dug him up from the sand, we brought him here to Team 182, where we tried to repair him.
But when we finally powered him on, he began to glitch out, and he started going crazy. I believe that there was probably something wrong with his circuits or perhaps something wrong with his programming. Unfortunately, we couldn't stop him.
"He staggered all the way to a military base, which at the time was revealed to be Optical Illusions. And the rest is history.
"But I believe that he was found by Content Control, and judging from your diagnosis Void." Maria explained. "You've been infected by the very virus they installed onto Tarantula's system... Spider.exe."
As Maria and Void were walking on opposite ends of the D.R.A.C units, Void was still puzzled over the events that unfolded, "But why does Content Control want SNT?"
Maria stared towards the blue robot, "Because Void, the code within the scripting language; which was transcribed to me by Minister Sophos, reads... Nightmare, nightmare approaches."
Suddenly, Maria's words began to click together with what the 8-legged D.R.A.C unit was programmed for, "Of course... Deletion, it is inevitable." Void whispered,
"And now he's out there, waiting to strike again." Maria said as she looked out the window terrified.
Without hesitating, Maria then ran towards Void and began tugging on his hands as she began to panic,
"Woah, calm down Maria! Is there anything else you need to tell me?!!" Void shouted,
Maria hugged Void and looked deep into his eyes; she began to cry. "Yes Void, I need your help. In fact, my team needs your help. We recently received an email message from Tarantula just last week. He blackmailed me to build him an army of D.R.A.C units. And if I refused, he threatened to kill everyone here at Team 182!!!" The doctor cried.
Void slowly caressed Maria's cheeks as he wiped away her tears, "Maria, calm down. Deep breaths, alright? So where is he now?" Void asked.
Void's stomach ache began getting stronger, he collapsed on the floor and began to cough uncontrollably. Maria gasped, "Oh no... Void, what's wrong?"
Void's coughing fit got worse as he began coughing blood, until it was too much for the blue robot and vomited on the floor. Maria backed away as tiny spider robots barfed out of Void. The tiny robots began to fly like mosquitos towards the D.R.A.C units and landed on top of their helmets. The nanites then turned into liquid metal and slowly turned each unit into a copy of Tarantula.
As this happened, the nanites emitted a black cloud of smoke within the room, this continued until the entire room was cloudy.
Frightened, Maria grabbed onto Void as he and Maria ran into the nearest corner, and got down to the floor; while taking cover.
When the black smoke finally lifted from the room, both Void and Maria slowly got back to their feet.
"Doctor Robotnik, are you alright?" Void asked, looking concerned for the yellow hedgehog.
But Maria was so frightened, that she held onto the anti-virus as tightly as she could while crying on his shoulder.
As Void was comforting Maria and petting her quills, he looked across the room and was shocked to discover what he saw... every single D.R.A.C unit in the room had turned into a copy of Tarantula. They had a harness with four, thin spider legs. Their face eyes had yellow optics. Their cylinder bodies had dark gray N symbols with horns on the side.
The robots laughed in unison and said. "Right behind you!"
Fearing for their lives, Maria pulls on Void's hand and shouts, "CMON VOID!!! LET'S WAKE EVERYONE UP!!! WE HAVE TO EVACUATE TEAM 182 IMMEDIATELY!!!"
"Right behind you Maria!!!" Void shouted in agreement as he and Maria began to run and shut the door behind them.
The Tarantula drones blasted the door open with their eye beams. They marched in unison till they saw Void and Maria running upstairs, "One of us, one of us!"
The drones began to bombard the place with their finger missiles. Explosions surrounded the blue robot and yellow hedgehog. The two hid inside the Janitor's closet. Void peeked through the keyhole and saw the drones still marching through the halls.
Void and Maria remained silent as to not give away their location. The sound of the drones began to get lower and lower from their position.
Void took a deep breath and said, "How do we get past those things? Any ideas Maria? Maria?" He turned around to see the yellow hedgehog was crying.
"It's all my fault! Why did I bring him here?! Why couldn't I just leave his parts on Angel Island! And... will my friends ever forgive me?" Maria sniffed.
Void went towards Maria and placed a hand on her shoulder, "Maria listen, you aren't at fault. Tarantula made you do those things. You only did what you thought was best, and that's okay."
"Void, I appreciate your kind words. But look at what's happening, an army of spider robots is rampaging throughout the base. My friends are in danger because of some robot that I found on the beach, and... I feel like I did more harm than good."
"Maria, it's not your fault!" Void retorted, "And you can atone for your mistake by helping everyone to evacuate the facility."
Maria's face lit up, "Wait, I know someone who can help us. But, SNT has the only way to communicate with her."
"That's the spirit, but how do we get around the D.R.A.C units?"
"Leave it to me, c'mon!" Maria opened the door and led the way back to the not-so-secret door.
But suddenly, the D.R.A.C units began to shoot webs towards the pair. Tying them up and causing them to fall onto the floor.
Both Void and Maria were struggling to escape. As Maria was squirming, Void reached for his sword and sliced the spider web off of him.
He then crawled towards Maria and cut the web; thus, freeing the yellow hedgehog.
"Thank you Void." Maria shouted as the pair brought each other back to their feet.
Void then lifted his sword and began to swing left and right, trying to intimidate the spider looking robots, while Maria held onto the blue robot's waist.
SNT, Catney and Saki slept soundly in their bedroom. That was until the sound of explosions interrupted their sleep. SNT was the first one to wake up.
"Huh, what's going on?" She asked.
That was when the alarm began to blare. Getting the attention of everyone inside.
Both Catney and Saki jumped out of bed terrified, they hugged each other and turned their attention to the chimera. "SNT, what's going on?!"
"I DON'T KNOW!!! I HEARD AN EXPLOSION DOWNSTAIRS!!!" SNT shouted, "What do we do?!!!"
"I don't f*ng know!!!" Saki shouted back,
Fearing for their lives, the trio ran down the stairs towards the lobby of the laboratory.
But when they arrived downstairs, they were greeted by the dreaded D.R.A.C units.
"WHAT THE F*K ARE THOSE THINGS?!!" Saki Shouted,
"I don't know! But we're being surrounded!" Catney cried as she grabbed SNT by her shoulders, "SNT, what do we do?!!!"
SNT thought for a moment, she then started to remember the watch that Maria gave back to her earlier, "That's it! Shade's communicator!"
She pressed the button on her watch and turned a knob; thus, activating a signal.
Static sounds began to emanate from the communicator,
"Cmon, cmon, cmon!!" SNT pleaded as the spider looking robots began to march closer and closer.
The static suddenly began to scramble, which led to a distant voice, "Hello? SNT? Is that you?!"
"Shade!!! Oh, thank goodness it's you!!! I need your help! My friends and I are being surrounded by spider looking robots, and we need your help to escape the lab before they kill us!!!" The chimera cried out."
"Say what!?! Okay, I need you to stay calm and listen to me," Shade shouted, "There should be two buttons on the sides of the communicator, I need you to keep them pressed so that I can locate you!"
"Right!" SNT shouted as she proceeded to press the buttons on her watch,
"Strange, you seem to be in a binary coded reality. Okay, I'll be there in a second, don't you dare die on me!" Shade demanded.
The spider looking robots marched closer and closer, which made SNT grit her teeth in worry. She had no idea how long it would take for Shade to get here, it might already be too late for her.
Just as the robots were about to get to the chimera, a giant ball that distorted space-time repelled them back and glimmered a purple light. SNT shielded her eyes, however, a smile formed on her muzzle. As the ball faded out of reality, the robots looked on at a metallic warrior with bunny-like ears standing up from the smoke. Two purple slits for visors and a purple symbol embedded on its helmet.
"Shade!" SNT shouted. The metallic warrior glanced at the aqua blue chimera before casually tossing out what appeared to be grenades beneath the robots' feet. The grenades didn't explode however, instead they unleashed a blue sparkling energy that halted the robots in space.
Suddenly, 3 more figures rushed into the room from behind the robots and attacked them from above.
One was a purple cat who wore a dark purple shirt, had white and purple boots and golden wrist cuffs around her hands. The other figure was a yellow cat, who had brown hair, wore a pink dress and pink gloves. It was Nicole and Daniela, SNT's best friends and Maria's teammates of Team 182.
The 3rd figure was an orange raccoon who wore a green sweater, has yellow gloves and green shoes. It was SNT's friend from the shattered dimension; Marine the raccoon.
"Long time no see, SNT," Daniela greeted.
"Marine! Daniela and Nicole! What are you all doing here?!!!" SNT shouted with joy,
"Rescuing you of course!" Nicole shouted as she took out her gun and loaded some ammo.
"Cheers SNT, the cavalry s'here," Marine announced with a cheeky grin.
Catney looked at the girls and began to shed a tear, "Thank you guys."
Saki glanced at the armored Shade and made a confused look. "Wait a fucking minute, who the hell are you?" Shade glanced at the orange haired human, and receded her helmet to reveal her tangerine echidna quills with peach stripes.
"A friend of SNT's, you may call me Shade the echidna," the warrior greeted. Catney's eyes widened at the name.
"Wait, YOU'RE Shade? The one character from that weird RPG on the DS?" She asked. Shade glared confusingly at the cat lady.
"RPG? DS? I don't understand," Shade admitted. SNT placed a hand on her shoulder.
"I wouldn't worry about it too much," the chimera said.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Shouted a terrified voice from across the lab,
5 minutes earlier, Void and Maria were still surrounded by the D.R.A.C units, things were looking grim for the pair.
"Void, what do we do?!! These robots are unstoppable!!!" Maria cried out, as she hugged the blue anti-virus for dear life,
Losing hope, Void had only one option left to protect Maria and get her to safety.
Void turned towards the good doctor and placed his hands over Maria's shoulders, "Maria, listen to me. I need you to get Team 182 and evacuate the laboratory immediately!"
Maria grabbed onto Void's waist and began to shed a tear, "But what about you?!"
Void looked at the drones surrounding them, "I have to buy you some time!"
Maria was shocked, "No! I won't let you die here! Bite me!"
Void began to cry, "Maria... please... You have to help your friends escape! Because if you don't, who will?!!!"
The yellow hedgehog admitted defeat, "Promise me you'll be okay when all of this is over, promise?!!" Maria demanded,
"I promise." Void responded,
Maria grabbed the nearest grappling hook she could find,
She then ran towards Void and kissed his cheek before running for her life; leaving the blue anti-virus trapped inside with the D.R.A.C units getting closer and closer.
With escape being impossible, Void drew his sword and took up his fighting stance. And with the odds stacked against him, he drew his last breath.
"Alright ladies! Listen up! Based on the intel everyone has provided me, our first priority is getting Team 182 out of here as quickly as possible. Daniela, Marine and Nicole, you're with me! SNT, while we distract the enemy you need to gather your human friends and get the hell out of here!" Shade ordered, "Everyone got that?"
"Right!" SNT shouted in agreement; little did she realize but she forgot about a certain anti-virus robot.
"Wait! Don't forget about me!" Maria shouted as she ran to join Team 182 with her grappling hook in hand.
Daniela nodded and began to emit pink flames from her hands, "LOCK AND LOAD! LADIES!!"
The five girls took up their fighting stances, and began to charge towards the D.R.A.C units.
Nicole began to run as fast as she could while shooting the drones with her gun, "Eat lead! Robots!" The purple cat shouted as she shot down as many spider robots as she could.
Meanwhile, Daniela began to throw multiple flaming punches, hooks and uppercuts to a couple of D.R.A.C units that were in her way; dismantling them from the equation. "Are you feeling hot hot hot yet?!!"
At the same time, Maria used her grappling hook to grab hold of one of the spider bots. She then pushed her whole body towards the robot and kicked its head off. "Checkmate! Off with your head!!!"
A couple of D.R.A.C units then attempted to shoot webs at the airborne hedgehog only for a purple light to appear behind them and slice through their metallic bodies like butter. As they collapsed into pieces on the ground, Shade appeared over them, wiping her hands as she immediately moved on to the rest of them.
"Pardon me," Marine stated as she slid under some D.R.A.C units and splashed a turquoise energy wave underneath their bodies, causing them to explode into scrap metal.
However, it was too early to celebrate. The destroyed Tarantula drones' bodies began to twitch and jolt upwards. Everyone turned their attention towards the re-animated robot bodies, as ginormous spider legs sprouted from the bottom of their heads.
The heads somehow still had their helmets and their optics were pitch black. The robots laughed at the mobian's feeble attempt to destroy them.
"One of us! One of us! One of us!" The drones repeated in a distorted voice.
Meanwhile, as Catney, Saki and SNT were evacuating the laboratory to make their escape,
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" The sound of the anti-virus shouted as his body got dismembered by the spider looking robots.
Upon hearing the boy's scream, SNT ran back into the laboratory to investigate the sound,
"GET BACK HERE YOU STUPID CHIMERA!!!" Shade shouted, but SNT simply ignored her and ran back into the lab as fast as she could.
When she finally reached the heart of the laboratory, she stopped and looked across the room in shock and disbelief.
It was the sight of Void's body torn into pieces. His arms were ripped out its sockets, his head was ripped out and his legs were bent at unimaginable angles. Next to his corpse were two Tarantula drones as they stabbed into Void's neck and ripped out his head for the second time.
With Void blue screened once again; SNT quickly ran towards him, and grabbed him once again by his stomach; she was once again horrified by the sight of her dismembered partner.
The large computer screen began to static until it displayed the real Tarantula, sitting on a chair while sipping a glass of wine.
"Well, well, SNT. It's good to see you again." The spider robot taunted.
SNT glared daggers at the monitor, "You!"
Tarantula looked left and right before pointing to himself, "Who me?" He questioned with a sadistic smile.
"Who are you? What do you want with friends!? And why do you keep killing my blueberry pie!?" SNT smacked herself and muttered, "Stupid worm."
Tarantula snickered, "Who am I? Well, guess it's time for you to know about me, other SNT. My name is Tarantula."
"Tarantula, eh? Did some fourth grader give you that name?" SNT sassed.
"Says the experiment, whose name is three consonant letters from the alphabet." The spider robot snarked.
SNT's eyes flared up, "Okay "Tarantula" know this, you aren't my first purple villain around here. You can cause as much destruction as possible, you can put me through as much pain as possible, but if you hurt any of my friends or anyone close to me, I promise you... I will kill you!"
"You certainly are more eager than your other counterpart. I would like to stay and talk, but I'm sure you have "Other" matters to attend to." The arachnid robot pointed to Void's dead body and cut his transmission.
SNT's face suddenly shifted from angry to horrified. She ran towards the dismembered robot and held onto his body. "Oh dammit! Not again!!! Void!!! Oh Void!!! Please wake up!!!" SNT begged as she was shedding tears.
She then looked at Void's face and got closer, "I'm afraid I only have one system restore file left. If I use it, then that means I can only use system restore... one last time."
SNT placed her head onto Void's forehead, "But... I JUST CAN'T HELP IT!!! I HAVE TO USE IT!!!"
She then unleashed her special aura as she puckered up her lips, and kissed Void once again, causing his body to glow, and slowly reconstruct his parts back to normal.
Just then, Maria, Catney and Saki ran back into the room where SNT and Void were located. All 3 girls were shocked to see Void once again unconscious.
Maria ran towards the robot and placed her hand on Void's forehead. Despite SNT rescuing Void with system restore, he was still unconscious after being infected with the spider virus.
"God f*ng dammit!!! How many times?!!" Saki shouted in frustration.
"SNT... I'm so sorry..." Maria said as she bowed her head in sorrow.
"I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! HOW CAN HE DIE AGAIN?!!" Catney cried, "I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!"
But SNT has had enough. "Grrrr, I've had it, That's it! I'M TIRED OF THESE MOTHER-LOVING SPIDERS ON THIS MONDAY TO FRIDAY UNIVERSE!"
She walked towards Maria and grabbed her by her dress, "Maria, what were those things?! And where did they come from?!"
Maria quickly hugged the angry chimera and began to cry on her shoulder, "I... I had no choice! Please, listen to me!!! Tarantula, he blackmailed me to build the D.R.A.C units, in order to create more copies of him. If I refused, he was gonna kill all of Team 182!!!
"Oh SNT!!! What are we going to do?!!!" Maria cried, as SNT comforted the yellow hedgehog.
SNT gave her a stern look, "Maria... I'm afraid there's only one thing we can do." SNT declared, "Where can we find Minister Sophos?"
Finally admitting defeat, Maria bowed her head in sorrow and pointed her finger towards the window.
Both SNT and Maria walked towards the nearest window to observe the environment that was just outside.
What they saw were 2 gigantic mountains, each of which had a mighty fortress located at the top of the summit.
Maria pointed to the left mountain, "I believe he is hiding inside the monastery of Sin Serials. It's the first mountain on the left, 15 miles north from this laboratory."
Frustrated, SNT walked towards the armory and grabbed a Burst Wispon, a grappling hook, and Quantum Blaster. She stormed out the front door; ready to leave. Catney and Saki picked up Void and began to follow her.
"SNT!!! WAIT!!! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!!!" Maria shouted as she began to run after the girls,
SNT turned to Maria with a stern look, "...To get some help."
