~[Present Time]~

"Steven, hurry up!" Connie says while preparing a mat for her and Steven's Picnic as we see her standing on the cliff overlooking the Crystal Temple Beach House, and a gloomy Steven, lying belly-down on Lion's back, is carried up the cliff overlooking the Crystal Temple. "Uh, Steven?" Connie asked worriedly due to Steven falling face-first off from Lion's back as he groaned. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine..."

"Are you sure you're okay?" Connie asked concernedly as she handed Steven a sandwich from the picnic basket placed beside her.

"Yeah..." A depressed Steven says as he eats the sandwich sadly and slowly.

"Okay, uh...so, um...is this fence new?" Connie asked awkwardly while pointing over at the large white fence that is now surrounding the entire cliff.

"Uh, yeah, Saurus, Arthur, and Pearl built it yesterday. It's a long story."

"Is it a magic story?!" Connie asked excitedly while now resting on her stomach and placing her head on her hands as she kicked her legs around, and Steven couldn't help but blush as he found her behavior to be really cute.

"Maybe?"

"Well, what happened? Tell me, please." Connie begged as Steven sighed heavily.

"Okay, okay, but it's not a happy story."

Standing in a large red colorful background with millions of glowing stars, we see a stoic Garnet lifting up her glasses to wink at the readers slyly with her Dual Gemstones glowing brightly as Arthur stood beside her and grinned slyly as the 18-year-old Man lifted up his right arm to show off his glowing Gemstone and we then see a pair of smirking Pearl and Amethyst riding around on Blue's back with their Gemstones glowing brightly and the 10-year-old Female Hybrid Child was transformed into her Full Dinosaur Form as a roaring Saurus suddenly dropped down from the sky and landed in front of the Crystal Gems in his Full Dinosaur Form with Steven riding on his back and his Gemstone glowed brightly as they all struct a heroic pose.

After warping themselves into the other side of the planet, the Crystal Gems can be seen glaring at a hoard of Corrupted Gems, Evil Dinosaurs, and Jasper and Peridot as Garnet swiftly summoned her Gauntlets while Pearl summoned her spear as Amethyst pulled out her whip, Steven summoned his Shield, Saurus transformed into his True Dinosaur Form, Arthur summoned his spiked gauntlets, and Blue transformed into her Full Dinosaur Form as the Crystal Gems then mounted onto Saurus's back and charged forward at high speeds as they all let out a loud battle cry.

That's why the people of this world

Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Arthur, and Blue...and Saurus and Steven!

After defeating their powerful foes and saving the Planet Earth, the Crystal Gems decided to head back to Beach City as, after warping themselves near their Hometown, a roaring Saurus ran down the streets of Beach City, alarming Lars and Sadie, surprising the Pizza Family, impressing the Cool Kids, and caused a visiting Connie to gasp in awe as the Gang was able to arrive at their home, and the Crystal Gems got off Saurus's dinosaur back as he transformed back into his Human Form just as Greg drove up to them as he got out of the vehicle and placed a grill in front of them to grill up some victory Hot Dogs as a smiling Saurus rubbed a giggling Steven's head proudly.

~[Flashback: Yesterday]~

"Amethyst! Be careful!" A worried Steven says as we see him, Saurus, and Arthur hanging out on the cliff overtaking the Crystal Temple Beach House in Beach City as Amethyst could be seen horsing around by the cliff.

"For real, Amethyst, you can fall off." An annoyed Saurus says as he had taken everyone up to teach them some meditation techniques, but all Amethyst wanted to do was to play around as the Human/Dinosaur Male Teenage Hybrid wanted to bring in Blue to help her learn how to do meditate, but Vidalia had come and pick her up for a sleepover at their house so that Blue and Raddishes can have a sleepover with each other.

"Guys, why are you getting so worked up? Why? Do you care about me or something?" Amethyst says while making a mock-lovestruck face as Arthur blushes.

"Yes."

"Aww, that's sweet, Arthur," Amethyst says while blowing a kiss at him as she then grins. "Anyway, don't worry, boys, I will-Whoa! Whoa!" Amethyst says before pretending to fall backwards as she flails around panickedly.

"Amethyst, stop! You're gonna fall!" Steven says anxiously as Amethyst then front-flipped over to land on the ground and shakes her ass at the boys as she cupped her cheeks.

"Ooh, boys, I'm gonna fall~!"

"Amethyst, you're gonna get hurt." Saurus started seriously as Amethyst rolled her eyes while standing on the edge of the cliff as she placed her hands on her hips.

"Guys, please, I'm a Gem warrior. I'm not gonna fall-," Amethyst says as, ironic enough, the ground underneath her gives way, and she falls off the cliff. "...Ugh, this is so embarrassing." A falling Amethyst says with a groan while facepalming as she then landed gem-first on a rock, causing an audible crack rang out as the boys rushed over to peer over the edge worriedly. "I'm okay!"

"Shit! Don't worry, Amethyst, we will come to you now!" Saurus says while going over to pick up Steven and swiftly morphing into his Full Dinosaur Form before dropping down from the cliff with Arthur following after them as the boys landed on the ground and Saurus placed Steven down on the ground while morphing into his Default Form as they then rushed over to Amethyst, who jumped off of the rock as she landed on the ground.

"Are you sure you are okay?"

"Yes, Steven, I'm fine...except for this!" Amethyst says while reaching up to pull aside part of her hair to reveal an enlarged eye.

"Oh, god, what's that?" A worried Arthur says as Amethyst shrugs.

"Don't know. My eye grew large after I crash-landed here."

"Oh, yeah, speaking off, I have to ask, while you were falling, why didn't you try to shapeshift into a Bird to save yourself? Hell, you could've played off your embarrassment by turning into a bird, fly up, and lie and say that you did that to try and scare us." Saurus pointed out as Amethyst blinked slowly and facepalmed with a loud groan as Garnet and Pearl came running over.

"Amethyst! Show me your gem!" A stern yet worried Pearl ordered while reaching towards Amethyst as said person slaps it away.

"Fresh!" Amethyst says with a smirk before it fell when Garnet grabbed her arm and reaches over to grab her shirt to pull it down to reveal that there was a crack in her gem.

"Amethyst! Your gem is cracked!"

"Rude!" A blushing Amethyst says with a huff as she covers up her cracked gem and the swell of her breasts as the Gem Warrior notices Arthur staring at them lustfully and winking at him playfully. "It's not a big deal. Plus, now I have this cool googly eye." Amethyst says while shaking her enlarged eye around as a serious Garnet turns to Saurus.

"How did this even happen?"

"She fell off the cliff by the lighthouse because Amethyst was horsing around and forgot to shapeshift when she fell."

"Of course...how could I have been so blind? We need to put a fence up there, so this will never happen again." A serious Pearl says as the others nod.

~[Present Time]~

"...and that's why there's a fence. The end." Steven says hurriedly while chomping the sandwich in hand as Connie gives him a blank and disbelieving look.

"Wait, what happened to Amethyst?"

"Uhhh..."

"C'mon! Tell me the rest!" Connie says urgently as Steven looks away in discomfort and worry.

"I don't wanna."

"Steven?" Connie asked as Steven continued looking away, unyielding. "Steven~," Connie says with half-lid eyes and a coy blushing smile on her face as she uses the tone that her Mother uses against her Father whenever she wants something, but it doesn't seem to work as a frowning Steven starts trembling and murmuring. "Steven!" An annoyed Connie snapped as Steven trembled faster and groaned louder as he then finally gave in.

"Okay, okay, but only if you let me try on your glasses."

"Only if you give me your jacket so that I can wear it for the rest of our visit." Connie proposed as Steven nodded and removed his long-sleeved opened pink varsity jacket with white trims.

"Deal," Steven says while naively making the biggest mistake a man could ever make, giving the girl who you like your jacket, as he hands it to Connie, who quickly puts it on and is surprised upon realizing that it is so huge on her that it was practically reached down to her legs as she breathed in his scent and blushed heavily at what she did as the glasses-wearing girl placed her hands on her lap and sweated nervously. "Why do I feel like I'm never getting that jacket back?"

"You probably won't, but it's okay, you have more," Connie says with a sly smirk as Steven blushed and groaned as she then reached up to grab her pair of magenta glasses with rose-colored lenses and handed them over to the Human/Gem Hybrid as he puts them on and put on a goofy smile.

"How do I look?"

"...I have no idea," Connie stated bluntly while squinting her eyes as all she saw was a blurry image of Steven wearing her glasses.

"Well...um...so...we were all worried about Amethyst."

~[Flashback: Yesterday]~

"So, what's the problem? Amethyst falls on stuff all the time." Steven says as a serious Pearl turned to him.

"It'd be fine if it was just her body, but her gem is damaged."

"Remember how we told you that a Gem's body isn't their real body but just a projection? Well, their Gem is essentially their real body, so if it gets cracked or damaged, they won't be able to regenerate from that on their own, which means that they can potentially...die." Arthur says awkwardly as Steven's eyes widen in shock and horror.

"So, what do you do to fix it?" Saurus asked Pearl as she sighed heavily.

"Before...we had Rose," Pearl says before Garnet walks over to bend down to Steven's eye level as she reaches over to place her hand on his shoulder.

"Steven, your Mother had healing tears that flowed from her Gem. She felt real love for those around her. She felt real sorrow when they were hurt. You have a Rose Quartz Gem now. I know that power is in you, too." Garnet says with a reassuring tone as Steven perks up in determination and nods as he then points over at Amethyst.

"Amethyst! Show me your gem!"

"Yeah, all right," Amethyst says casually as she reaches up to grab her shirt and pulls it down to reveal her cracked gem.

"The power...to heal," Steven whispered as he made an elegant and dramatic entry, like he was being wrapped by a vine and then burst out in a flurry of roses as the Human/Gem Pre-Teen Male Hybrid then started straining in front of Amethyst's Gem, but nothing happened. "It's not working. I guess I'm just too tough to cry."

"Just today, you were crying about snakes," Arthur says deadpannedly as a saddened Steven pouted.

"They don't have any arms. Anyway, do you think Dr. Harley and Nurse Pamela can help out Amethyst? They have been my Doctors ever since I was young." Steven says as Garnet shakes her head.

"Won't work. Dr. Pamela and Nurse Harley are currently busy traveling around the world, helping the way less fortunate. We have no choice. We need to take Amethyst to Rose's Healing Garden." Garnet says with a serious tone as Amethyst scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Guys, I'm fine, I'm not gonna get any worrrrrrrr..." Amethyst says before her face tightens and pops, and starts speaking backwards. "Yeh, syug tahw era uoy gniod no eht hcaeb? (Hey, guys, what are you doing on the beach?),"

"...To the Warp Pad!" Saurus exclaimed with the Crystal Gems nodding in agreement as we fast forward in time and we see the gang warping to a bramble-covered canyon in Gorges du Tarn, France as they were currently in Rose's Healing Garden, which is Rose's most precious sanctuary as, due to being left untended, it's completely overrun with a massive amounts of vines and bramble.

"...And in the center of the garden, Rose's Fountain! Overflowing with your mother's healing, lacrimal essence-,"

"First off, I know that you don't mean that sexually, but it does sound that way. Second, I don't see it." Saurus says while gesturing at the area around them as Pearl gasps in shock and worry.

"Hgu m'I gniog emoh, (Ugh, I'm going home)," Amethyst stated bluntly as Pearl began to panic.

"Now, now! Let's keep it together! Our memories of Rose can't be tainted by some overgrown brambles! Ha, ha, look at them! They're a mess without her guidance! Directionless, pathetic, clinging things!"

"Why do I feel like she's projecting?" Saurus asked Arthur with a knowing tone as he nodded in agreement.

"IT'S GOING TO BE OKAY, GARNET!"

"Sure," Garnet says casually with a shrug as Steven continues to strain himself, and Amethyst lies next to him as she waits impatiently.

"Hmm...maybe there's a path over here!" Pearl says while leaving the area with Garnet as Amethyst got an idea and turned to the boys.

"Yeh, fi ruoy ydob yrc...t'nac no sti uoy...nwo ekam...attog ti yrc! (Hey, if your body can't...cry on its own...you gotta...make it cry!)," Amethyst says while slapping herself in the face and imitates crying as Saurus hums.

"Ah, good idea, Amethyst."

"You were able to understand her?" A surprised Steven asked as Saurus shook her head.

"Oh, not at all. I speak many languages but not backwards speech. Although, it's very obvious that Amethyst is trying to tell us that if you want to cry, Steven, you have to hurt yourself,"

"Cry because I feel pain? Perfect idea, Amethyst." Steven says while seeing the brambles all over him as he then slowly approaches them, covering up his eyes, and tries to stick his index finger into a thorn of the brambles as, suddenly, the brambles suddenly animate and reach towards him as the gang notices this and Arthur quickly reached over to grab his fellow Human/Gem Hybrid as he pulled him away.

"Arthur, stop playing around with Steven. You are going to give Amethyst the idea to roughhouse and exacerbate her crack." A stern Pearl says while she and Garnet appear on the scene as Amethyst rolls her eyes and begins walking towards her.

"Eht seniv erew gnimoc ot efil dna erew annog llik nevetS fi ruhtrA t'ndid evas ,mih tsuj os uoy wonk (The vines were coming to life and were gonna kill Steven if Arthur didn't save him, just so you know)," Amethyst scolded as, suddenly, she accidentally reverses herself and walks straight-on into a rock, Gem first and an audible crack rang out as Saurus's eyes widened in worry, Steven winced and held his own Gem in sympathy, a concerned Arthur gritted his teeth, Pearl gasps in shock, and Garnet flinched in surprise as Amethyst collapses onto the ground, her crack beginning to worsen.

"Aw, right in the gem!" Steven says as a coughing Amethyst smiles at him weakly.

"T'nod yrrow ro gnihtyna, m'I doog. (Don't worry or anything, I'm good)," Amethyst says with an awkward laugh just as her body starts glitching, causing her head and foot to switch places as she groans in agony.

"Ohh! Oh! Keep calm. What we need to do is to get you into the fountain immediately, if we can ever find a way through all this mess!"

"SNAP OUT OF IT, WOMAN!" Saurus snapped while going over to slap Pearl across her face, surprising her as she blinked.

"Thanks, Saurus, I needed that," Pearl says just as Garnet goes over to pull out a rock from the brambles in the background as she then summons her right gauntlet and punches the rock through the brambles with an unprecedented force, creating a tunnel to Rose's Fountain as the Leader of the Crystal Gems huffed a bit.

"I needed that. This way."

"We could've probably gotten in without hurdling a giant rock... into Rose's most precious sanctuary, but if you're okay with it, I'm fine, too!" Pearl says with a nervous chuckle as she and the others proceed to go through the tunnel to Rose's Fountain as the Crystal Gems look around the fountain once belonging to Steven's Mother, surrounded by brambles everywhere as Rose's Healing Garden was enclosed in a dome-like structure of brambles and the fountain itself is located in the middle of a garden, and a giant stone statue of Rose Quartz stands at its center on a star-shaped pedestal as four life-sized Rose statues surround the central sculpture, and the fountain is currently empty.

"This isn't right. The fountain isn't running." Garnet says as Saurus turns to her while crossing his arms.

"What's wrong with it? Why won't the fountain run?"

"I'm not sure. Rose made sure to have her Healing Garden keep running for all eternity before she gave birth to Steven, so this is troubling."

"Is that...Mom?" A stunned Steven says while getting a big overwhelmed a bit with his emotions as he then perks up. "Oh, oh, I'm getting emotional! I think it's happening! Uh, I'm really feeling it!" Steven says while leaning over Amethyst and starts straining to cry again as Saurus, Arthur, Pearl, and Garnet watch.

~[Present Time]~

"Ahh! Headache!" Steven says with a groan while falling over as Connie gives him a scolding glare.

"So give back my glasses and finish the story!" Connie says as Steven nods and sits up as he reaches up to grab his crush's glasses and takes them off before giving them to his friend as she puts them on again.

~[Flashback: Yesterday]~

"Ah, come on! I had it!" Steven groaned due to being unable to cry as Pearl sighed heavily.

"Steven, it's fine. Just stay here and watch Amethyst with the boys. We'll find out what's wrong with the fountain." Pearl says while she and Garnet turn around to leave just as the crack in Amethyst's Gem worsens again, causing Amethyst's body to fall apart as Saurus and Arthur go over to check on her.

"Are you okay, Amethyst?" Arthur asked as Amethyst's body tried to round itself up; her hand bouncing her leg like a ball.

"Tegrof tuoba em. Sucof no Nevets (Forget about me. Focus on Steven)," Amethyst says sternly while gesturing over at Steven, who looks dejected as he frowns.

"Steven, are you okay?"

"No, I'm not! My sister is in danger of dying and I can't do anything about it because I can't cry! I just...I just...I just don't understand! Why can't I cry about Mom?!" Steven asked, causing the trio to stare at him in shock and sympathy as he then went over to lay down on the lap of Rose's statue at the fountain. "It's just...I mean, I don't know how to feel about my Mom, but everyone else does. I wish I could have met her then this place would make me sad, and I could cry healing tears...like her. I just want...to be able to love my Mom...but I don't know how I would feel about her if I could never even meet her."

~[Present Time]~

"Are you okay?" Steven asked Connie worriedly upon seeing her getting emotional and tearing up.

"Y-Yeah," Connie croaked out while nodding her head and sniffling as she took a bite out of her sandwich. "Keep going."

~[Flashback: Yesterday]~

"Steven...I more or less understand what you are going through." Saurus says while going over to sit down next to Steven, and Arthur does the same as Amethyst decides to keep quiet since nothing she would say would make a lick of sense to her brother.

"How could you? You got to know your Mom." Steven says bitterly as Saurus looks away sadly.

"Yeah, but not my Dad. My real one." Saurus says, surprising the trio as they turn to him. "It's a...long story, but basically, I loathe my Biological Dad's guts but my Mom was married to a man who I come to see as my real father even if I had never met him because he wasn't allowed to come to Gennyson. Mom spends hours talking about how much of an amazing man he is and that if he was with me, he would treat me like a real son, and while I'm happy that he makes her happy, I have no idea how to feel about him because I never met the guy."

"...Huh...I guess you DO know how it feels to be in my situation...how did you deal with it?" Steven asked as Saurus paused a bit and then turned to him seriously.

"I have come to realize that while I don't know how to feel about him, I do know how much my Mom loved him, so I made sure to love him too, even if I never met him."

"Yeah, while you may not have any fond memories of Rose because you never met her, it doesn't mean that you are wrong for not feeling sad about her death. You are free to feel however way you want to feel about a person and don't ever forget that." Arthur stated firmly as Saurus nodded and rubbed Steven's hair.

"And if someone says otherwise, tell me where to find them so I can beat them up for you," Saurus says with a feral grin as Steven snorts and laughs.

"He, he, thanks, guys, I feel a lot better now," Steven says as the boys smile and give him a side hug as the Human/Gem Pre-Teen Male Hybrid then glances up at the statue of his mother with a soft smile on his face as the tender moment is ruined by Amethyst suddenly laughing maniacally with bugged out eyes.
