Part 1: The Start of the Conflict

Phase 01: The Birth of Jacob Paul Flax

January 1, Cosmic Era 1, Kansas was in a standstill of debates when the Atlantic Federation was formed. People of Kansas did not want to join this new government and the restrictions that go alone with them. So, the Reconstruction War was also the Third Civil War between Kansas and the Atlantic Federation. The Third Civil War ended on July 4, 1 CE. Knowing of their defect and absorption into the Atlantic Federation and that the people did not want all 105 counties in the control of the Atlantic Federation.

"My fellow Kansans," said Sam Brownback XXIII, the last Governor of the State of Kansas. "I'm deeply sorry that we are losing this war. To hope that the Atlantic Federation will not get the entire state, I'm hereby declared that Kansas will be split into two. The division line will be US 281. The names will be West Kansas and East Kansas. I am also going to dissolve the State of Kansas Government on July 4, 1 CE."

West Kansas and East Kansas have their own special economic interests. West Kansas main economic support was mostly farmland with oil wells. East Kansas main economic support was the factories.

Full peace started on January 15, 8 CE. During the first seven years of control, both West Kansas and East Kansas were in control of the Atlantic Federation Government.

In 15 CE, the day of the start of the Jupiter Exploration, George Glen revealed that he was the first Coordinator. Debate on this issue grew big in not only West Kansas and East Kansas but also the entire world.

In 16 CE, the issue on Coordinators was solved. The first Coordinator Ban was set into effect. Also on July 4, 16 CE, East Kansas got their independence from the Atlantic Federation. The agreement was that East Kansas was required to be called Atlantic Federation Kansas. The agreement will be that West Kansas will still be under Atlantic Federation Control. The agreement created the Kansas City Special Economic Zone where both Atlantic Federation Kansas and Atlantic Federation residents can work with no problems.

The biggest powerhouse in Atlantic Federation Kansas was the Tolle Family. One of the founding members of the Atlantic Federation Kansas was Marjorie Tolle. She sat in the Atlantic Federation Kansas Government as the McPherson County Representative. The Tolle Family was one of the powerhouses.

In June 30, 18 CE, Vaughn Tolle became the Attorney General of the Atlantic Federation Kansas Government. He was the first Attorney General of the Attorney General of the Atlantic Federation Kansas and made good use of his job of catching bad guys who broke laws in the Atlantic Federation Kansas Government. Vaughn Tolle did not like Blue Cosmos one bit, which the Atlantic Federation Kansas Government endorsed.

On July 1, 20 CE, the Post Office of the Atlantic Federation Kansas was set up. The person who became the first Postmaster General was Joyce Tolle. Joyce married into the Tolle Family and proved her loyalty that got her the job. Joyce also got another Tolle working for her. The Tolle was Julia Train. Julia was a Post Office Officer in the City of Wichita, the largest city in the Atlantic Federation Kansas. These two were in charge of the Atlantic Federation Kansas Mail System.

Now not all of the Tolles were Naturals. Willie decided to marry Karen. They have two daughters, one Natural and one Coordinator. The first born, a Natural, named Jami was the powerhouse. At 13, Jami Tolle joined the Atlantic Federation Forces and became the best soldier at the time who was not a Coordinator.

Before the Coordinator Boom that started in the thirtieth year of the Cosmic Era, a big decision for Willie and Karen was having their second daughter, but only this time they wanted to try to make her a first-generation Coordinator. So, they did and that's how Mindi Tolle came into the world, but while eighty percent of the Tolle's were accepting of this like Marjorie Tolle, others dislike her. The dislike period lasted for a while. Her parents knew of Blue Cosmos, so they decided to send her to Ellis, West Kansas to keep her hidden from Blue Cosmos.

On July 1, 25 CE, Jami was talking with her grandmother. Her grandmother spoke to her, "I have a mission for you. I know that you joined the Atlantic Federation Forces, but with you in that military, the assignment will be to keep tabs on Blue Cosmos. If you can take care of them, do it."

"Yes," said Jami, "I understand."

In the Tolle family, Robert Tolle was next in line and was a McPherson School Board member. He did well in the area that the Atlantic Federation Kansas made him a member of the Atlantic Federation Kansas Board of Education. The last child in the Tolle family was Lydia Tolle. Lydia Tolle became a good representative of the Atlantic Federation Kansas Government. Her roles in the budget department were well that they put her in charge of the yearly budget.

On May 23, 26 CE, the Atlantic Federation Kansas Supreme Court decided that the Coordinator Ban was unconstitutional. This ruling started the Coordinator Boom in Kansas. It was at the point where relations with West Kansas were starting to improve. This start of the Coordinator Boom started the first date with James Flax and Lydia Tolle. Their main goal was to at lease set up the foundation towards making two Kansas into one Kansas again. On May 25, 26 CE, they went on a date in Great Bend. Both of them were Representatives of their respective governments. Great Bend by the location of the Border between Atlantic Federation Kansas and West Kansas was made a special city under the split of the Two Kansas. The debate was how to make sure that the Atlantic Federation figured out because not only Atlantic Federation Kansas but also West Kansas did not like Blue Cosmos, who was getting more power in the Atlantic Federation every single day.

On January 8, 27 CE, West Kansas and Atlantic Federation Kansas were shocked about this plan but liked the idea of a unify Kansas again. In the next six months, talks took place between the two parties. On July 1, 27 CE, the Treaty of Great Bend was signed. The treaty terms include the following: a complete ban on discrimination against Coordinators, any half-breeds, and Naturals in the 105 Counties of Kansas when the Cosmic Era started; the West Kansas Capital of Garden City was added to the Special Cites List; and the Atlantic Federation Kansas Capital of Topeka was added to the Special Cities List.

On October 1, 27 CE, the Treaty of Great Bend was ratified with no reservations from the Atlantic Federation. On November 6, 27 CE, people in Atlantic Federation Kansas voted on the treaty ratification. Knowing of the timeframe of the vote to the official count, the Treaty of Great Bend came into enforce on January 1, 28 CE. The votes were enough to pass so the Treaty of Great Bend started at 6 AM on January 1, 28 CE.

During 28 CE, James and Lydia continued on going on dates. On July 25, 28 CE, James Flax asked Lydia Tolle to go into marriage. She said yes. In October 28 CE, Lydia Tolle was talking to her mother on marrying James Flax.

"You want to be an example of the treaty that our governments had set up," Marjorie Tolle noted.

"Yes," said Lydia Tolle, "I want to use this example to create peace in our beautiful state that was robbed from us about twenty-eight years ago."

"I just have to warn you that the terror groups might not want this to go through," Marjorie Tolle said.

"I know," said Lydia Tolle.

The first marriage between a Natural and a Coordinator happened on July 25, 29 CE. Due to this, both West Kansas and Atlantic Federation Kansas celebrated a Kansas Holliday called First Steppingstone Day.

The rest of the year, Lydia Flax was expecting to have their first son. It was good, but it now caused a problem with Atlantic Federation.

On October 31, 29 CE, Jami Tolle warned the Atlantic Federation Kansas Government of a possible coup. That warning let them have three days to prepare for defense. The early warning paid off. Due to the embarrassment of the Atlantic Federation Government, negotiations between Atlantic Federation and West Kansas started.

April 17, CE 30, was a big day in Kansas. James and Lydia's first son were born. They named him Jacob Paul Flax. Jacob Flax became the first Half-Coordinator of the world. This problem led both West Kansas and Atlantic Federation Kansas together as both governments decided to not let the Atlantic Federation know about the first Half-Coordinator.
