Hank had been sitting at his desk, the time was moving extremely slowly, his watch ticked slowly. His mind had kept racing a hundred miles an hour. Why would Serena tell him her parents were dead if they weren't? Was she hiding from them? He didn't know what was going on but he was going to get to the bottom of it. Deep down he was terrified of losing Dani, if he lost her he'd lose yet another piece and possibly the last piece he had left of his son. The last piece of his family.

The older Sergeant had Mouse digging up whatever he could possibly find on Amelia, if he found so much as a parking ticket Hank was going to get to get the truth. He stayed at his desk for what seemed like forever just waiting, he felt his heart pounding in his chest

Mouse was at his desk typing rapidly, something caught his eye and kept tying rapidly. The young tech had printed some papers and just about rushed from his desk to Hank's office nearly tripping over his own two feet getting into the office. Hank looked up to see the tech.

"I take it you found something?" Hank asked the tech.

"Sir I found so much you should really look into. I had to unseal a few things but it was worth it in the end" Mouse rambled.

"Mouse! What did you find?"

The young tech handed him all the papers and Hank took them and began reading, his eyes had gone wide. This woman would never see Dani as long as he's around. Not in this lifetime or the next.

Looking up he nodded at the tech. "Very nice work Mouse"

"Anything else I can do sir?"

"Look into the murder of Danielle Taylor"

Mouse had gone back to his desk and got to work, getting up from his desk Hank grabbed his jacket and the files leaving out the office and by passing his squad leaving them all confused.

The team had then looked over to the tech and Mouse felt eyes on him and saw the team looking at him. "What?"

"What was that about?" Adam asked.

"I don't know"

"Mouse, what did he ask you to do?" Jay asked his best friend.

The tech sighed, they were going to find out one way or another and Hank would need help if things were to go south. "Hank had me look into Amelia Taylor, Dani's maternal grandmother. Now he wants me to look into the murder of her sister, Danielle"

Hank had driven to Amelia's office and he was trying to keep his emotions under control, all he could do was grip the steering wheel as tightly as he could till his knuckles turned white. After what he found out this woman wasn't going to get anywhere near his little girl.

The drive wasn't long or far from the district, he made sure Trudy had protection for Dani. Until he knew the angle this woman was working everything was getting locked down tight. Once he arrived at the building he took the files and went inside. Mouse and sent him all the information on where Amelia worked and her office, he simply got on the elevator and went to the floor ignoring any and all looks. A ding interrupted him from his thoughts and the doors opened, getting off on the floor he needed and went to Amelia's office.

Amelia was just finishing up a meeting when Hank had suddenly appeared at her door. He simply knocked twice. "It's time to have that talk Amelia"

The woman looked over. "Sergeant, what a nice surprise"

"Ya know, I wonder why Serena told me you were dead" Hank walked in and closed the door, he then proceeded to close the blinds. "She ran away from home when she was a teenager, in fact it was right after her sister, Danielle was killed"

"Serena was always a troubled girl, her father walked out on her when she was a baby. She always acted out as a child when she was a teenager it only got more out of hand"

"Is that before or after you let your husband abuse her and you covered it up?"

Amelia had tried to keep a straight face. "I have no idea what you're talking about. I would never-"

"You married your husband when Serena was 2. When Serena was 6, teachers noticed bruises on her arms DCFS was called and notified. Serena said her step father hit her in a drunken rage, when you were questioned you claimed you had no idea what happened you weren't home. You claimed Serena was making it up because she was mistaken on what he did. You said he'd never hurt her. By the time she was 8 she had her arm broken, a sprained wrist, broken and bruised ribs, a black eye, split lip-"

"Enough!"

"You let a man abuse your own child. You chose a man over your daughters. You let him beat you to"

"I would never-"

Hank read more from the file. "Amelia Taylor admitted to the ER multiple times. Concussions, broken arm, broken wrist, fractured leg, multiple broken ribs, fractured ribs-"

"I said enough"

"When Serena was 11 she was wetting the bed, she had nightmares, she was highly uncomfortable around male figures, she had trouble focusing in school, falling asleep. Wouldn't let nobody, male or female touch her in any way. When they did she jumped. When teachers asked what was wrong she said her step father touched her. DCFS was notified again by this point you had your power and connections, you once again swept this under the rug. But one thing you couldn't sweep away, the evidence. After Serena said her step father molested her she was taken to the hospital and the doctors performed exams and tests. Serena tested positive and was treated for gonorrhea. They also had found she was raped. She had a torn hymen, it was red and swollen. The doctor said it looked as if it was consistently ongoing. DCFS was just about to take her from the house when you said Serena had consensual sex with someone else but the DNA matched your husband. Then right before charges could be filed, Serena recanted. Said it never happened and she was mistaken. Someone coerced her into changing her statement, charges were never filed. If I were to guess you coerced her to change her statement, you couldn't have that get out. You'd lose everything, your husband would lose everything, both political careers, you as a Consul woman about to run for Alderwoman, him on the verge of winning Mayor of the city, you'd both be in jail. You let and allowed your husband to rape and molest her till Serena couldn't take it anymore and she ran away. She ran away around the time her younger sister, Danielle was killed. Serena was what, 16, 17. Danielle was 7. Danielle was the daughter of your husband now, he did the same thing he did to Serena. It started with the beatings, then the rape and molesation, then some how she was killed. What happened Amelia? We're going to find out so you might as well tell me or I dig her up and get an autopsy done and we will find out. And if I find any signs of foul play which I might, you and your husband will be going down for murder. Danielle tells you what your sick husband did to her, just as she was about to tell one of you killed her to shut her up. Serena finds her sister and runs away afraid the same thing would happen to her. Maybe it wasn't you but your sick ass husband, he beat her to death, shoots her, stabs her? You and him were top suspects, after Serena found the body she went to the cops and told them everything. You might as well confess"

Amelia was completely speechless, she hadn't thought Hank could find all that out in just a short amount of time. She had most of those sealed so how he got those is beyond her.

"Serena was a troubled girl, me or my husband didn't kill Danielle, she did" She tried to keep her voice straight and calm, she was definitely feeling the pressure.

"I very highly doubt that" He walked towards her. "I will find the evidence to convict you of Danielle's murder. And you can bet your ass I will try and have the rape, molestation and child abuse charges on both of you. You were never a mother, a mother loves and protects her children, a mother shields them from all the evils in the world. A mother wouldn't let nobody, no man harm her children, abuse them, treat them like rag dolls. You only want Dani to clear your conscience. But that's not going to happen. I'll be damned if you and that sick bastard do to her what you let happen to your two girls. That's not happening, not in this lifetime or the next. I have evidence to back up my story on you so if you try and go for custody I have everything right here and I have back up files. So if you destroy these, I already have it backed up. I already have my people looking into Danielle's death, pretty soon I'll get her body and an autopsy will be done to find out the cause of death. Then I'll have warrants to arrest and charge you and that sick bastard. That's why Serena never turned to you when she was pregnant. She feared you'd do to her child what you did to her. I'll be damned if you touch her"

She gave him a sharp and pointed look. "Prove it. Prove any of it. Both my girls are dead, they're gone. The dead can't talk. Dani is all I have left of Serena. Nobody, not even you are going to keep me from my grandchild"

"Oh sweetheart. I can prove everything and when it all comes to light you and that bastard are going down. The truth always comes to light, no matter how hard you bury anything it always comes out. Stay away from Dani, this is your first and only warning. I only warn once, if anything happens to Dani after today. I'll burn and bury the both of you"

Hank turned and left leaving Amelia stunned and shocked. She pulled her phone out making a call. "Hank Voight knows, we need to act now and fast"
