"No."

Mirabel, Sam, and Manny watch Flint talk to his dad, Tim Lockwood, through some old objects.

After hearing his son's words, Tim sighed and asked, "Can you look me in the eye and tell me you've got this under control and it's not gonna end up in a disaster?"

"Yes," Flint replied, avoiding his father's gaze.

Flint squeaked as he tried to look Tim in the eye as his eyebrows go up, revealing his wide eyes.

"I've got this under control, and it's not gonna end in disaster," Flint quickly uttered before looking away, exhaling and clearing his throat.

"Alright," Tim ultimately decided.

Flint looked up at Tim with a smile and said, "Thanks, Dad."

"Oh, sure," Tim muttered, walking back toward the house.

Turning to his right, Flint spotted Mirabel, Sam, and Manny now sitting on some tires a few feet from him as he said, "Okay, guys, this is where the magic happens."

The ride up to the lab was….awkward, to say the least. Mirabel, Sam, Flint, Manny, and Steve were all squished together in a portable toilet, which was an elevator to the lab, as Steve licked Sam's microphone.

After getting out of the elevator, they head down the hallway, Flint opened the door to his lab, which was a curtain, and a robotic voice spoke, "Welcome, Flint."

Mirabel gazed around the lab in awe. Honestly, this was one of the best labs she had ever seen…and this is the only one she had seen.

Sam and Mirabel walk down some steps, noticing Flint waiting for their reactions.

"Wow…" Mirabel muttered, impressed.

Sam, on the other hand, did not have the same idea as she said, "You seriously spend a lot of time alone."

Just then, Steve landed on Mirabel's shoulder, causing her to smile and pat him on the head.

"Soft," Steve stated before he leapt off Mirabel's shoulder.

"What?" Flint chuckled at Sam's question before nervously glancing away.

A moment later, Flint guided Mirabel, Sam, and Manny to a screen about how the machine worked as he explained, "So here's how it works, water goes in the top and food comes out the bottom."

"So when you shot it into the stratosphere, you figured it would induce a molecular phase change from the cumulonimbus layer?" Sam guessed, not realizing that her science-y inventive side coming out again.

"That's actually a really smart observation?" Flint suspiciously leaned closer to Sam, narrowing his eyes.

Sam took a few steps back and said, "I mean…"

She shyly, locking away from her other side again and explained, "The clouds probably have water in them, which, uh, I guess that's why you shot it up there in the first place."

It was Flint's turn to take a step back as he stuttered, "Right, right, that's why I-I did that. On-on purpose."

"Right, yeah," Sam mumbled.

"Right," Flint agreed.

"Of course," Sam said as she played with her hands, the two of them nervously chuckling before they back away from one another.

Flint motioned Mirabel, Sam, and Manny to follow him and we headed further into the lab.

"What was that about?" Mirabel whispered to Sam, clearly curious about what happened.

"I don't know, Mira. My science-y inventive side took over for the second time today, I couldn't control it, it just happened," Sam whispered back.

Mirabel nodded and replied, "Sí, that…but you entertained his energy. You sorta flirted with another guy.

Sam's eyes widen from what Mirabel said and excused, "What?! No, I didn't! I was just…interested in what he had to say."

Mirabel doubtfully looked at Sam, opening her mouth to respond when Flint started to speak again.

"The machine uses a principle of hydro-genetic mutation. Water molecules are bombarded with microwave radiation which mutates their genetic recipe into any kind of food you want," Flint explained, coming to a stop as he mentioned to a screen above them.

"So, pizza?" Sam asked.

"Yes," Flint replied.

"Mashed potatoes?" Sam asked as she raised an eyebrow.

"Yes," Flint replied again as he nodded.

"Peas?" Sam asked as her smile brightened.

"Yes, that's also a food," Flint muttered.

Mirabel looked between Flint and Sam as they continue back and forth.

"Steak?"

"Yes."

"Apples?"

"Mm-hm."

"Apple sauce?"

"Yes."

"Can you do BLT?"

"I'm pretty sure Flint said any kind of food," Mirabel said, cutting Flint and Sam's debate off, setting a hand on her hips.

"Chicken wings?" Sam questioned, ignoring Mirabel's comment.

"Okay. Well, just think about what you're saying, and if it's a food, then yes, it's-"

This time, Flint was cut off by Sam as she asked, "Baloney?"

"Baloney, this is a food," Flint huffed.

It was Mirabel's turn as she asked, "Arepas?"

"Yes," Flint replied.

"Empanadas?" Mirabel asked.

"Yes," Flint said again as he nodded. "You must be Colombian."

Mirabel nodded and replied, "Yes."

"Okay, then si, I will do those for you," Flint replied, trying some spanish in his sentence.

Sam thought of something, causing her to gasp as she asked, "How about Jell-O?"

Flint walked over to Sam and asked, "Do you like Jell-O?"

Sam took a step as she smiled at Flint said, "I love Jell-O."

"I love Jell-O too, and peanut butter right?" Flint asked as he grinned.

"Oh, no, no, no, Mirabel has a distaste for it and I'm severely allergic to peanuts," Sam informed Flint.

"Me too," Flint quickly agreed, glancing away.

"So what's it called?" Sam questioned.

"Peanut allergy," Flint stated with an obvious tone.

"Um, Señor Flint," Mirabel softly spoke up, causing Flint to look at her. "I think she means the machine."

"Of course," Flint said as he nodded, leading them to his giant computer.

Once they walk over, it had a giant picture of Flint holding his invention, but he clicked a button to make it smaller and words appear on the screen as he explained, "It's called the Flint Lockwood Diatonic Super-Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator, or for short: The FLDSMDFR!"

"FLDSMDFR, I could say that ten times," Mirabel complimented.

Sam, on the other hand, could not get the name right as she asked, "Fliminadifiser?"

"FLDSMDFR," Flint again said.

"Fliminubahdibferer?" Sam asked as she still got the name wrong.

"Fli," Flint sounded out, pointing to the F and L. "Suh," he continued, pointing to the D and S. "Fdiferf," Flint finished, pointing at the M, D, F, and R.

Mirabel hummed with a nod, understanding the acronym, glancing over see if the others got it, Manny blankly looked at him, Sam still looked confused, and Steve gave Flint a "What?" look, which almost made her laugh.

Sam turned to Manny and informed, "Manny, make sure you get this. He's gonna make the food now."

Manny stepped closer to Flint, who backed into his desk.

"Uh, now? Well, the thing is, I can't…wait, let me show you guys this hilarious internet video," Flint said as he nervously smiled, moving over to his mouse and putting a video of a cat as a DJ.

"What?" Sam asked, clearly shocked and surprised by the video.

"FIGHT THE POWER!" The cat spoke.

"What is this?" Mirabel asked as she laughed in disbelief, walking closer to the screen.

Flint sneaked away as Sam continued watching the screen as she gushed, "It's so cute."

While Sam and Manny watch the screen, Mirabel watched Flint build a satellite dish machine.

"Pushing, folding, connecting, taping, painting, switching, staring, motivating, placing button," Flint narrated his actions as he built the machine.

Flint finished setting a red button, bringing the station over to them.

As he did so, Steve jumped onto Mirabel's shoulder, causing her to pet his head again.

"Soft," Steve spoke again.

Mirabel chuckled, picking Steve up with both of her hands and asked, "Now what do you want to eat?"

Steve's eyes light up and answered, "Gummy bears!"

"You know what? I'll get you those gummy bears," Mirabel replied as she smiled.

Steve jumped out of Mirabel's arms and hugged her as he spoke, "Best!"

"I can't believe I've been watching this for three hours," Sam commented just as Flint came over with the button station.

"I know, heh," Flint said as he nervously laughed.

Flint placed it next to Sam, turned off the video, and started typing on his computer.

Soon, green writing with the word "INPUT FOOD CODE" came up.

"It's working," Flint muttered before turning to Mirabel, Sam, and Manny. "What do you guys want for breakfast?"

"Gummy bears!" Steve cried, jumping close to Flint.

Flint turned to look at Steve and scolded, "Woah, Steve, no! We both know how you get around gummy bears."

Steve looked down, sadly.

Sam thought for a moment and suggested, "How about eggs?"

Flint turned in his seat to look at Sam as he said, "And toast."

"Orange juice," Sam added.

"Cereal?" Mirabel asked.

"And bacon!" Flint and Sam say in unison as Flint gets out of his chair, but he very subtly closed his eyes and leaned in to kiss her.

"What are you doing?" Sam asked.

Flint stopped in place, opening his eyes and glanced everywhere else, he seemed to be regretting it, but he could not be quite sure.

"Nothing," Flint said as he tried to play it off. "To the computer!"

Flint typed in the code as Sam and Mirabel seem curious and Sam asked, "So you're sure this is safe?"

He turned to look at them and chuckled as he replied, "Don't worry, I have a dangeometer that lets us know if the food is going to over-mutate."

"What happens if the food over-mutates?" Mirabel asked, curiosity in her tone.

"I don't know, but that'll never happen," Flint reassured, pressing a key on his keyboard and rolling over to the red button. "All right, this probably won't explode."

Mirabel and Sam jolt over to Flint as they asked in unison, "What?"

There was no answer as Flint pressed the button.
