A/N

This was inspired by a YouTube short by Grace Dooty involving Shadow making coffee and that with my excitement for Sonic 3 added to it. In this, it's early morning on the Soace Colony Ark and Shadow wanting coffee wakes up finding Maria there having fun listening to music, playing chess among other things.

I could use some coffee first thing this morning. Maybe Maria is up..l

Ahadow yawned, stretching after sleeping hoping Maria had slept peacefully getting out of bed not caring his quills were messy knowing coffee helped wake him up mentally for the day's adventures or what the day will bring hearing footsteps which he knew. "Shadow, it's morning right." Maria asked yawning making him smile and blush which always happened with the teenage cub around her, he didn't know why.

"Y-Yes Maria it's morning. Let's go eat." Shadow told her as they headed to where the kitchen was on the Space Co,only Ark which was home only Shadow wondered if Gerald was awake yet making Maria confused, knowing they'd have training when that happened wanting to just have some peaceful moments with her best friend which warmed Shadow's heart when she said that despite Abe being their age relieved he wasn't up yet deciding not to think about that noticing the speaker being curious making Maria smile. "Grandpa says it can play Earth music and have been listening to Taylor Swift." she said.

They wwee fixated with the blue and green planet known as Earth and everything to do with it. Shadow was making coffee for himself and also Maria, as she could drink coffee only he was being careful and trying not to burn himself which Maria always worried about noticing he never put milk in his. "I always drink mine black, Maria you know this." Shadow told her.

After a while, Gerald was up and wondering where Maria and Shadow were and heard music from the kitchen entering seeing Maria and Shadow playing chess drinking coffee as they'd been waiting for him to wake up.

"Shadow needed coffee this morning, then we decided to play some chess." Maria told him.

"That's okay, and glad you're here." Maria told him. Gerald smiled at her as he was making breakfast for them with Shadow's help and guessed said cub wanted to hang out with Maria, which he found sweet knowing the cub's adopted family on thecArk were probably wondering abohtvwhre he was making Shadow scowl at that making Gerald get it, but he found it adorable knowing one day, both him and Maria couldgo to Earth like they wanted seeing Shadow quiet feeling Maria tap his shoulder gently asking, if he wanted to play chess seeing him nod.

"It's a very calm morning indeed, which is good." Shadow mumbled.

"Yep, and haven't seen Abe yet. You guys didn't fight again." Maria said.

"He's probably sleeping Maria, don't worry." Shadow told her smiling.
