A/N: Thought to write this out a bit and I'm going to say this: while my mind is entertaining the idea, I'm leaving this STRICTLY AU until my brain settles down. You'll see in a minute here. Just a scene that came up as a result of tossing this idea around.

Different Parentage AU Scene- Bad Blood:
(Yusei's POV)
The elevator in the room dinged, opening the doors to reveal Ren. His face was twisted in anger. "All right, Rex, give me one good reason why I shouldn't kick your sorry ass right through those f*ing glass windows right now!" he snarled, stomping in.
"My my, such crude language. Does your mother know you use such words, Ren?" Goodwin retorted calmly. Wait, they know each other? Ren never mentioned he personally knew Goodwin, I thought, looking back and forth between the two.
"Don't be bringing my mom into this! You're the one that insists on keeping this tournament going despite all the shit that went down! And also keeping certain people from leaving, or forcing participants to join! At this point, I'm half a second away from contacting Uncle Seto and letting him know what's going down."
"Now now, is that any way to speak to your father?" What?! They're father and son?! I took a glance to Jack and he didn't seem to be shocked with that statement. So he must have already known about this.
"Oh, spare me! We might share blood, but you're no father! Dad's been more of one than you've been my whole life! At least he doesn't hide things from me when I ask!"
"Regardless, I believe we're done here. The final match will be beginning shortly, and I'm sure Yusei will need to get ready to face our champion."
"You're still not answering a damn-!" I managed to get a hold of Ren before he could step forward, seeing as the bodyguards that escorted Trudge had come back and were eyeing Ren as he was talking. "Lemme at him! I'll kick his f*ing teeth in!"
As soon as we were clear from the room, I let Ren go but prepared for in case he decided he wasn't done. Thankfully, after his string of every cuss word in the book, he just grumbled and turned his back from the doors. "I swear, every time I hear a single thing from him just make me wanna..!" He stomped away, faced one of the walls, and then punched it. There was a long pause before his head fell to his chest as he muttered an, "Ow..."
"You good?" I asked finally.
"Oh, peachy. I'm always in a swell mood when I speak with that man." Ren rubbed the knuckles that had collided with the wall earlier. He gave a deep sigh after the retort. "Sorry, I get real sarcastic when I get moody."
"And here I thought sarcasm was your default setting."That got a laugh out of him for a moment until I got serious again. "So...he's your father?"
"Pff, hell no! Maybe in a biological standpoint, but in every other sense that's complete bull. Mom and him were divorced before she even knew I was about to pop out, so as far as I'm concerned the only dad I've got is currently back at my family home. Goodwin only comes around when he wants something from my uncles, nothin' else."
"But why didn't you mention anything beforehand?"
Ren sighed again, scratching the back of his head. "Well, not like I open with the fact that my mom's ex happens to be Director Goodwin and all. AJ and Ellis had plenty of trouble dealing with that shit even post the whole thing. Hell, pretty sure sis just opens with, 'yes, I'm his bio daughter. No, I will not get you any special access to upcoming Duels or intel or whatever else you ask.'" He stopped a minute and grimaced. "Uh...don't mention that I used that voice to mimic AJ. She has a death stare that even makes the reaper shiver."
"My lips are sealed. Are you going to mention this to the others?"
"Tch, knowing my luck he's already had his lackeys let it slip. I'll clear things up when I run into them again. Jazz can help get things straightened out better than I can anyway."
"All right. Just...be careful. Coming from last time I Dueled Jack, things aren't going to get any safer in the stands."
"Oh, don't worry about it. Pretty sure if anything drastic happens, Uncle Seto will just bring hellfire and brimstone down on his ivory tower...well, probably will anyway if he's seen any of the Duels that's already happened."
"Still, if something goes wrong..."
"I'll go grab everyone and have us run out like the demons are after us. Just get going so you can kick Jack's ass and we can get the hell outta here. I'd like to forget having to speak with Goodwin again for the hundredth time."
"Okay. Oh, and Ren, if there's anything else you need to reveal, it'd be a good thing to say it now."
"...yeah, no, I'd rather not find out that I'm some secret Signer or something like that. I'd like to just keep being a regular guy that has the same daddy issues as every other angsty guy my age."
A/N: I actually had a few more scenes in mind...but couldn't quite get them out as, well, feel like that hits a bit too close to home for me at times. So yeah, not much on this AU other than the big shock there. Not even sure how it'd work out exactly, either. I got an idea that perhaps Ren's mom Ayame (aka, the long lost sister of Seto and Mokuba I made and revealed a bit ago) could have gotten with Goodwin. One idea was that the family members that dumped the Kaiba brothers at the orphanage could have come back to force Ayame to marry someone of their choice and she just picked someone she knew a bit to at least keep them from doing it, or have the whole thing being arranged by said family members. I dunno. Oh, and for Konnor (Ren's actual dad 99% of the time outside this AU), I'd think his dad would have sent him off after catching wind he was 'messing around' and wanted him to not get with Ayame or something. Like I said, not much thought at the moment.
Well, I guess technically with the exception of two crossover AUs but it's not Ren and AJ...but Ellis. I had the idea for not just Dragons' Souls but also Remembrance because I thought it'd make for some interesting development on Ellis. With the former, I can totally see it being a MAJOR thing as Ellis is not Konnor's by blood but he still had him as an heir choice to take the chief seat when he stepped down (as I've already tried to hint, the dragon rider clans aren't too...receptive of anyone outside the clans, even when they force them to be dragon riders; long story). With Remembrance, I felt that it'd come as quite the shock as Ellis might not know that, or at least was only told he was Konnor's stepson despite Konnor never treating him any differently than AJ or Ren. I feel like maybe with the crossover AUs, maybe Chelsea could potentially be Konnor's instead (sort of switching the roles Ellis and Chelsea had as far as who was the half-sibling), but not sure...most of the time I forget to add her and by the time I remember, I feel like I rush it. Most of the time because, in at least what I've written with Ren, she doesn't even live in the same country as him and the rest of the family. So uh...I guess sorry for slight spoilers? ' Well, probably by the time I even get to that in Remembrance, this will probably be forgotten...but most likely not. I talk (type?) too much for my own good. X'D
Final thing I'm going to say on this AU, I feel like perhaps Ren could constantly have his hair dyed and maybe also wear contacts? Because for the most part, I can see him looking a lot like his mom (Ayame) with a few traits from his dad, but with this AU that's changed up and all. That could be a bit of a character development for Ren to accept that while he may have some traits from Goodwin, Ren's still himself and Yusei knows that.
Anyway, trying to do a little something new this year and try to at least give one update to my stories (whether it be the current ones or some I've gotten ideas for but have yet to post). I'm still kind of reeling from crawling out of the og Yu-Gi-Oh! Series along with dabbling into Inuyasha stuff again. ' So see y'all in whatever comes next month!
