ACP Pradyuman stood a few feet away, his expression unreadable. His sharp eyes observed the reunion closely. The sight of commissioner and Abhijeet embracing stirred something uncomfortable with him. His grip on the file he was holding tightened.
He cleared his throat, attempting to maintain his usual composed demeanor, but the slight clench of his jaw betrayed his feelings.
Bhairav, the Commissioner, stepped back from the embrace, his hands resting firmly on Abhijeet's shoulders. His face was glowing with pride and joy.
Commissioner Sir (proudly): Mai tumhe bata nahi sakta abhijeet...maine tumhe kitna miss kiya
Abhijeet managed a weak, sad smile. There was respect in his eyes, but also a shadow of unease, as though he was trying to mask a deeper fear.
Abhijeet (Nervous) : Maine bhi...
ACP Pradyuman's gaze darted between the two men. He noticed the Commissioner's prideful smile and the way Abhijeet almost shrank under his touch. The warmth and familiarity in their exchange gnawed at ACP. He had come to view Abhijeet as his own, someone he cared for like family. But seeing this effortless connection between the Commissioner and Abhijeet left him unsettled, almost... replaced.
Daya, standing nearby, noticed the faint change in ACP's body language. A smirk spread across his face as he leaned closer to ACP.
Daya (tease): Sir Abhijeet kitna khush lag raha hai naa commissioner sahab ke sath? Lagta hai dono ka bahut gehra rishta hai ...hai naa sir
ACP Pradyuman's eyes narrowed, and his tone turned sharp, almost cutting.
ACP Pradyuman (cold tone): Tum apne kaam se kaam rakho, Daya. Yeh tumhare liye zyada behtar hoga.
Daya gulped hard, feeling the weight of ACP's stern tone. Without saying another word, he quickly stepped back and stood straight, murmuring, "Yes, sir…"
Unable to stay silent any longer, ACP Pradyuman finally stepped forward, his tone firm but calm.
ACP Pradyuman (straight tone): Abhijeet tum jante ho commissioner sahab ko...?
Before Abhijeet could even form a response, Bhairav interjected with a wide, almost theatrical smile.
Commissioner Bhairav (with great smile): Arre sirf janta hi nahi rishta hai mera eske sath bahut khas or gehra rishta...
Abhijeet froze, his breath hitching. He lowered his gaze, his lips trembling slightly. Tears welled up in his eyes, but he blinked them back, unable to meet anyone's gaze.
Daya, now thoroughly confused, glanced at ACP before speaking hesitantly.
Daya (shocked): kesa rishta sir abhijeet ne to kaha tha vo anath hai uska es duniya mai koi nahi hai ... commissioner bhairav shocked...he looked towards abhijeet with angry eyes... abhijeet looked down in fear
The room fell silent. Bhairav's smile vanished instantly, replaced by a cold, angry glare directed at Abhijeet.
Commissioner Bhairav (in a low, angry whisper): Abhijeet… tumne yeh kaha?
Abhijeet's body visibly tensed. His shoulders hunched as though bracing for a blow. He looked down, his hands trembling slightly.
Commissioner Bhairav (with a forced chuckle, masking his anger): Darasaal ,ye ladka apni pehchaan khud banana chahta hai...ye nahi chahta koi mere naam se ise judge kare..isiliye isne tum logo ko Mere bare mai nahi bataya hoga...(Stern tone) Hai na, Abhijeet?
Abhijeet (barely audible, his voice trembling): Ji... sir...
But his trembling hands and downcast eyes told a different story...and the fear in his lowered gaze betrayed his true feelings, silently screaming what his words couldn't.
ACP Pradyuman observed this exchange with narrowed eyes. Something didn't right with him. He could see the unease in Abhijeet's body language—the guilt, the fear, and the hidden pain...But he ignored
ACP Pradyuman (hurt tone, stepping forward): Abhijeet Kya rishta hai tumhare inke sath...kya lagte hai ye tumhare
Abhijeet looked up briefly, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. His voice was barely a whisper.
Abhijeet (nervously): sir… vo..
Daya (frustrated, breaking the silence): Yaar yeh sir...sir kya laga rakha hai tumne! Saaf-saaf bolo plss
Abhijeet looked down again, his hands trembling, unsure of how to respond.
The Commissioner straightened his posture and looked at everyone, letting out a deep, exaggerated sigh.
Commissioner Bhairav (with a firm tone, placing his hand on Abhijeet's head): Tum log janna chahte ho naa to suno (proud tone) "Abhijeet Beta hai mera..."
The words landed like a thunderbolt in the bureau. Daya and ACP stared at Abhijeet, stunned.
The room went deathly silent. Abhijeet's breath hitched, his body stiffening as if bracing for a storm.
Commissioner Bhairav (continuing, with loving tone): Maine ise kuch saal pehle hi adopt kiya hai.
The words cut through Abhijeet like a knife. His fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white. He shut his eyes hard, trying to keep the tears from falling, but his quivering lips and shallow breaths gave away the storm inside.
ACP Pradyuman, on the other hand, felt like someone had ripped his heart out. His chest tightened, and his breath grew uneven. he felt like betrayal.
ACP Pradyuman (hoarse voice, hurt evident): Adopt kiya tha? (To Abhijeet) Tumne humse ye sab kyun chupaya, Abhijeet? Kyun? Kya hum tumhare apne nahi hain?
Abhijeet opened his mouth but no words came out. His voice was trapped in his throat, and he simply looked away, tears rolling down his cheeks.
Daya (awkwardly): Ohh… sorry, sir. Humein pata nahi tha. Agar humein—
Commissioner Bhairav (cutting him off, his tone strict): Ab to pata chal gaya, na? Toh ab chup-chaap apne desks par baithkar kaam karo sab.
The sharpness in his voice made everyone flinch. He then turned to ACP, his expression unreadable.
Commissioner Bhairav (firmly): Aur ACP, tum Mere saath chalo...Mujhe tumse personal baat karni hai.
ACP Pradyuman nodded stiffly, but his eyes were glued to Abhijeet's face. He couldn't look away from the young man who had come to mean so much to him—like a son he never had. The betrayal he felt was overwhelming, but beneath that anger lay an ache, a deep-seated hurt he couldn't quite name.
As the Commissioner turned to leave, ACP followed reluctantly. Just as he crossed the threshold, he stole one last glance at Abhijeet. The young officer stood frozen, his head bowed, his shoulders hunched as if he was carrying the weight of the world.
For a fleeting moment, ACP's anger faded, replaced by an overwhelming surge of protectiveness. But he quickly buried the emotion, masking it with the stern resolve he was known for.
Abhijeet, meanwhile, stood motionless in the middle of the bureau. He could feel Daya's questioning gaze on him, but he couldn't bring himself to explain. The truth had been laid bare, and with it came the crushing realization that his carefully constructed world was now on the verge of collapse.
He whispered under his breath, barely audible, "Mujhe maaf kar dena Sir…"
Daya heard it but chose not to said anything. He knew here ACP and Abhijeet's bond was at a breaking point.
As the room fell into an uneasy silence, the sound of ACP and the Commissioner's footsteps echoed down the hallway. Abhijeet wiped his face hurriedly, straightened his posture, and took a deep breath. But no matter how much he tried, he couldn't shake the feeling of guilt—and the fear that his relationship with ACP might never be the same again.
INSIDE CABIN
Commissioner Bhairav (in a stern, authoritative tone): Pradyuman, tumhari team ka performance ka graph lagataar neeche ja raha hai. Na yahan cases waqt par solve hote hain, aur na hi files time par complete hoti hain. Eska Reason jaan sakta hun mai...Kya ho raha hai yahan?
His words were laced with disappointment, almost cutting through the room like a knife. ACP Pradyuman, standing firm as always, met his gaze without flinching.
ACP Pradyuman (firmly, yet composed): Sir, mujhe nahi pata aapko aisa kyun lag raha hai. Hum apna hundred percent dete hain har case mein. CID team kabhi apne farz se peechhe nahi hati hai.
The Commissioner's eyes narrowed as he took a step closer, his voice growing colder.
Commissioner Bhairav (challenging): Hundred percent? Agar yeh tumhara hundred percent hai, toh phir yeh performance ka downfall kaise? Tumhare reports incomplete hain, cases pending hain, aur ek bhi remarkable result nahi mila mujhe pichhle kuch mahino se...eska mai kya matlab samjhun...ACP Pradyuman's jaw tightened, but he maintained his composure, taking a deep breath before responding.
Outside the cabin, the whole team was listening to the conversation between Commissioner Sir and ACP Sir.
ACP Pradyuman (calm but assertive): Sir, mujhe mere team or unke kaam par poora bharosa hai. Agar kahin kuch kami rah gaye hai, toh woh hum jarur sudharenge.
The Commissioner let out a cold, humorless chuckle, shaking his head as if unimpressed.
Commissioner Bhairav (in a warning tone): Toh thik hai, Pradyuman. Agle ek mahine tak main khud tumhari team ke kaam par nazar rakhunga. Har case, har report meri aankhon ke saamne se guzregi. Aur agar mujhe lagta hai ki tumhari team galat direction mein ja rahi hai... (pausing for effect, his gaze hardening) Toh tumhara suspension pakka samjho.
The words hung heavily in the air, sending a shockwave through the team. Abhijeet's fists clenched at his sides, while Daya shot a worried glance at ACP. Dr. Salunkhe adjusted his glasses, trying to hide his unease. The entire bureau seemed to be holding its breath.
Pradyuman, however, remained unshaken. He straightened his posture, his eyes burning with quiet determination.
ACP Pradyuman (with quiet conviction): Sir, Ek mahina ho, ya ek saal, CID team aapko kabhi shikayat ka mauka nahi degi.
There was an unmissable steel in his voice, one that even the Commissioner couldn't ignore. Bhairav Nath stared at him for a long moment, as if weighing his words, before giving a curt nod.
Commissioner Bhairav (coldly): Dekhte hain, Pradyuman. Tumhare team tumhare es bharose ko barkarar rakh pate hai ya tumhare suspension ka karan bante hai...With that, he turned out of the cabin.
The entire CID team exchanged uneasy glances, their minds racing with questions and doubts.
As Commissioner Bhairav strode through the bureau, his sharp eyes scanned the team. They all looked at him with wide eyes, but he ignored their gazes, his expression stern and unyielding. Just as he reached the door, he suddenly stopped, turning slightly.
Commissioner Bhairav (with soft smile): Abhijeet, ab se main yahin rahunga tumhare sath, ek mahine ke liye. Tum khush ho, na?
Abhijeet forced a weak, hesitant smile, masking his discomfort. Abhijeet (quietly): Ji...sir.
But the fake smile didn't go noticed. Daya's fists clenched at his sides as anger bubbled up inside him. His loyalty to ACP Pradyuman burned stronger than his restraint.
Daya (stepping forward, angrily): Sir, aap ACP sir ka suspend kaise kar sakte hain? Yeh galat hai!
The room fell silent. The team held their breath, knowing Daya's impulsive outburst could worsen things. Commissioner Bhairav turned to face Daya, his gaze sharp and unforgiving.
Commissioner Bhairav (strictly, his tone cutting): Agar aisa nahi chahte ho to apne kaam par dhyan do... Mujhe lagta hai is team mein sabse zyada zubaan tumhari hi chalti hai.
Daya opened his mouth to respond, but before he could say anything, Abhijeet, who had been standing silently until now, spoke up. His voice was low, hesitant, almost afraid.
Abhijeet (hesitantly): Sir... kya yeh sab jaruri hai...Team ki galti ki saza ACP sir ko kyun mile?
The Commissioner didn't respond immediately. Instead, his eyes lingered on the Abhijeet as if studying him, weighing his words.
Meanwhile, ACP Pradyuman stood still, his expression unreadable, but the hurt in his eyes was impossible to miss...he was badly hurt with Abhijeet because Abhijeet had lied to him. ACP feels that Abhijeet has cheated him. Thats why he is angry with him.
ACP Pradyuman (thinking, his jaw tightening): Abhijeet... tumne mujhe dhoka diya hai. Tumne mujhse jhooth bola. Main tum par bharosa karne laga tha, tumhe accept bhi kar liya tha maine...tum mere sath mere emotions ke sath Etna bada khel kheloge mujhe andaja nahi tha or ab tum Commissioner sir ke samne mujhe or mere team ka majak bana rahe ho.
The hurt in ACP's eyes made Abhijeet hesitate further. He shifted uncomfortably under his senior's silent scrutiny, guilt gnawing at him. He wanted to explain, to tell ACP the truth, but the weight of the situation and his own mistakes held him back.
Commissioner Bhairav's voice broke the silence.
Commissioner Bhairav (coldly, to Abhijeet): Ye Challenge khud Pradyuman ne diya hai maine nahi...or tum es matter se durr raho... Abhijeet Looked down ...baki baat Ghar par karenge...With that, the Commissioner gave one final glance to ACP and walked out of the bureau.
ACP Pradyuman finally spoke, his voice low but heavy with emotion.
ACP Pradyuman (to Abhijeet, his tone sharp): Aaj mujhe samjh aa chuka hai etni kam umra mai tumhe mera right hand or Cid ka senior inspector kese or kyun banaya gaya.
Abhijeet opened his mouth to respond, but ACP raised a hand, silencing him. His voice cracked slightly as he continued.
ACP Pradyuman (Heavy tone) : Rahne do kuch mat bolna...main servent se bolkar tumahara saman pack karakar ghar bhejwa dunga... tumhare jese logo ki nandini or mujhe koi jarurat nahi hai.
The harshness of his words echoed in the silence of the bureau, each one hitting Abhijeet like a blow. Abhijeet's eyes glistened with unshed tears, his throat tightening as he struggled to hold back the emotions that threatened to overwhelm him.
Daya, who had been standing quietly until now, stepped forward, trying to calm situation.
Daya (softly): Sir, hume ek baar uski baat sun lene chahiye...koi to wajah hogi
But ACP cut him off with a sharp gesture, his voice rising slightly, uncharacteristically emotional.
ACP Pradyuman (cutting him off): Daya, mujhe eski safai ki zarurat nahi hai...Jo baat mujhe samajhni thi, main samajh chuka hoon.
He glanced at Abhijeet one last time, his eyes betraying the hurt and disappointment he felt but refused to acknowledge aloud. Then, without another word, he turned and walked away, his footsteps echoing in the tense silence of the room.
Abhijeet stood frozen, staring at ACP's retreating figure. His heart felt heavy, his mind racing with thoughts he couldn't put into words. The man he respected, the mentor he idolized, had rejected him without so much as asking for an explanation.
He Remember...
Flashback Start
ACP's House – Late Night
The room was dimly lit with a soft glow from the bedside lamp. Abhijeet lay on the bed, his face pale, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He coughed lightly, his voice hoarse from the fever that had gripped him for the past two days. ACP Pradyuman sat on the chair beside the bed, a bowl of soup in his hand, his eyes filled with concern.
ACP Pradyuman (softly): Abhijeet, tumhe apna khayal rakhne ki zarurat hai. Agar tum apne upar dhyan nahi doge, to kaise chalega? Yeh CID ki duty tabhi nibha paoge jab tum theek rahoge.
Abhijeet tried to sit up, but ACP quickly placed a firm yet gentle hand on his shoulder, stopping him.
ACP Pradyuman (Caring tone) : Lete raho...abhi Tumhe rest ki zarurat hai. Main hoon yahin, tumhare saath.
Abhijeet hesitated, looking away, but ACP's voice softened further, filled with fatherly warmth.
ACP Pradyuman (with smile): Acha chalo...Yeh soup peelo. Maine khud banaya hai... Abhijeet made a face...(disappointed tone) dekho, Main jaanta hoon tumhe yeh pasand nahi, lekin dawa lene ke liye ye zaroori hai.
Abhijeet looked at him, his eyes reflecting both hesitation and surprise. ACP picked up the spoon and gently brought it closer to Abhijeet.
Abhijeet (weakly): Sir, main... main khud...
ACP Pradyuman (interrupting, firmly): Abhijeet maine kaha naa mai hun...Tumhare liye ...ab chupchap muh kholo verna nandini mere sir par bethkar tandav karne lagege Abhijeet smile widely...He nodded and opened his mouth, letting ACP feed him. With each spoonful, the tension between them seemed to melt away, replaced by a quiet understanding.
Abhijeet (hesitantly): Sir... aapko ye sab karne ki jarurat nahi thi...maa aakar bana dete
ACP Pradyuman (stopping for a moment, looking directly at Abhijeet): Kyun sirf nandini hi tumhara dhyan rakh skte hai...Kya mera tum par koi haq nahi... Abhijeet shocked
He placed the spoon back in the bowl, leaning slightly forward, his voice now moist..
ACP Pradyuman (with hope) : Abhijeet kya tumhare liye mai ek ACP ke alawa or kuch nahi hun...
Abhijeet looked down, his eyes misty. He couldn't meet ACP's gaze, his emotions threatening to overflow.
Abhijeet (softly, almost whispering): Aap mere liye bahut mayne rakhte hai sir...Mai bus aapko pareshan nhi karna chahta...aap mere karan time par bureau bhi nhi jaa pate or abhi aapne just aate hi mere liye soup bna diya...aap bhi to thak jate honge naa sir..bus esliye
ACP's eyes softened even more. He placed a reassuring hand on Abhijeet's shoulder.
ACP Pradyuman (pure loving tone): Tumhare liye mai kabhi nhi thak sakta Abhijeet ...or yakeen mano aaj se jyada sukoon mujhe kabhi nhi mila ...(Dreamy tone) vo sukoon jiske liye mai barso se taras raha tha... Abhijeet understand his meaning ..tear develope from his eyes.
Abhijeet blinked back tears, his voice trembling.
Abhijeet (Heavy tone): Sach kahun to sir pahele mai khud ko bahut akela mehsus karta tha ab aapse or maa se milne ke baad mera vo akelapan bhi khtam ho gaya.
ACP gave him a faint smile and picked up the spoon again, continuing to feed him with a quiet gentleness.
ACP Pradyuman (caring tone): Tum akele nhi ho Abhijeet Aur na ab main kabhi tumhe akela chhodne wala hoon .. chalo ab Chup chap yeh soup finish karo...Tumhe jaldi theek hona hai naa... Abhijeet nodded
For the first time, Abhijeet smiled faintly, a warmth spreading through his chest—not from the soup, but from the realization that he had someone who truly cared for him.
As the clock ticked, ACP sat by Abhijeet's side, ensuring he was comfortable. When Abhijeet finally drifted into a peaceful sleep, ACP adjusted the blanket over him, his eyes lingering on the man who had become so much more than just an officer to him.
ACP Pradyuman (to himself, softly): Tum mere dil ke bahut karib aa chuke ho... Abhijeet , mai Tumhe kabhi kuch nahi hone doonga.
He sat there for a while, watching him like a father and leaving the room quietly.
Flashback End
Abhijeet (Pov): Aapne ek baar bhi mujhse sawal nahi kiya bus apna faisla suna kar chale gye... Mera sach janne ki koshish bhi nahi ki.. shyd mere kismat Mai yahi sab likha hai
He let out a shaky breath, a bitter smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
Other Side
The room was cloaked in darkness, illuminated only by the faint glow of a single table lamp. Commissioner Bhairav sat alone, leaning back in his chair, his hands clasped tightly in front of him. His face was shadowed, but the turmoil in his eyes was unmistakable. The incident at the bureau replayed in his mind like a haunting reel.
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk, and ran a hand down his face, his usually stern demeanor faltering. The echoes of ACP Pradyuman's and daya sharp words pierced through the silence.
"kesa rishta sir abhijeet ne to kaha tha vo anath hai uska es duniya mai koi nahi hai"
"Tumne humse jhooth kyun bola? "
"Abhijeet… mujhe tumhare muh se sach sunna hai. Kya… kya commissioner sir sach keh rahe hain? Kya… kya… woh… woh… tumhare… p-pitaa hain?"
"Adopt kiya tha? Tumne humse ye sab kyun chupaya, Abhijeet? Kyun? Kya hum tumhare apne nahi hain?"
Commissioner Bhairav's jaw tightened, his fingers curling into a fist as he leaned forward in his chair. His piercing gaze settled on an old photograph on his desk. The image stirred something in him, a pang of longing laced with an unspoken regret.
Commissioner Bhairav (Pov): Abhijeet ka Cid join karna...kahin mere liye koi khatra to nahi
He remembers Abhijeet word...
"Sir... kya yeh sab jaruri hai...Team ki galti ki saza ACP sir ko kyun mile?"
He stopped in front of the window, looking out at the city. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he whispered to himself
Commissioner Bhairav (himself): Aaj Abhijeet ne phele baar mujhse sawal kiya...vo bhi us ACP ke liye...
A flicker of darkness crossed his face as his thoughts shifted. His eyes hardened, and his expression turned cold.
Commissioner Bhairav (determination tone): Ye Cid mujhe kuch thik nahi lag rahi...esse pahle Abhijeet mere khilaaf bagawat mai utar jaye...mujhe use in logo se durr karna hoga.
The darkness in the room seemed to mirror the shadows in his heart as he stood there, lost in thought.
Cid Bureau
ACP Pradyuman sat at his desk, flipping through case files with a stern expression, though his mind was far from the pages. Abhijeet, standing a few feet away, glanced toward him hesitantly. He held a file in his hand, using it as an excuse to approach the ACP. With slow, measured steps, he made his way toward the desk.
Abhijeet (softly): Sir, yeh case ka progress report... socha aapko update de doon.
ACP didn't look up, his gaze firmly fixed on the file in front of him. His jaw tightened, and his fingers gripped the pen a little too hard.
ACP Pradyuman (without meeting his eyes): Table par rakh do.
The coldness in his voice was like a knife to Abhijeet's heart. He placed the file on the desk but didn't move away.
Abhijeet (gathering courage): Sir, ek baar baat karni hai aapse... agar aap
ACP Pradyuman (cutting him off): Abhijeet, mujhe kaam karne do. Tumhare personal baaton ke liye mere paas waqt nahi hai.
Abhijeet flinched at the harshness in his tone but didn't give up.
Abhijeet (pleading): Sir, aap aisa kyun bol rahe hai ek baar sun to lijiye...mai aapko batane hi wala tha
ACP Pradyuman (finally looking up, his eyes sharp): batane wale the lekin kab?? Abhijeet us din jab maine tumhe unwanted kaha tha to tumhe yaad hai naa tumne kya kaha tha...(Loudly) Tumne etna bada juth bola ...dhokha diya hum logo ko..
Abhijeet took a step back, the weight of ACP's words hitting him like a blow.
Abhijeet (his voice breaking): Sirr maine koi dhokha nahi diya aap logo ko... Us samay .. ACP cut his word
ACP Pradyuman (standing up abruptly): Abhijeet maine kaha naa mujhe koi explanation nahi chahiye tumse... Ab mai sab samjh chuka hun tumne vo sab humare attention pane ke liye kaha tha... Tum sympathy chahte the hum logo... (Harsh tone) Hum mai se koi tumhe accept nhi kar rha tha esliye khela tumne ye khel... Kyun Hai naa...Abhijeet looked at him and nodded no... Cid Mai bhi inke wajah se hi ho naa tum... Mujhe to pahele hi samjh Jana chahiye tha... (Most haterd tone) Abhijeet tumse ghatiya insaan maine aaj tak nahi dekha chale jao mere nazro ke samne se esse pahele mai kuch or bol dun Abhijeet stand with blank emotions...he clenched his fists, trying to hold back his emotions...
The room grew silent as the other officers exchanged uneasy glances. Daya, standing nearby, tried to step in.
Daya (Low tone): Sir use Ek mouka...
ACP Pradyuman (raising a hand to stop him): Daya mai tumhe aakhiri warning de raha hun bich Mai mat bola karo...samjh mai aaya daya looked down and nodded
Abhijeet (heavy tone): Sir plss aap mera gussa kisi or par mat nikaliye...ager aapko lagta hai maine aap ke, team ke or maa ke emotions ka fayda uthaya hai to mai aap sab maafi mangta hun ho sake to mujhe maaf kar dijiye plss
ACP Pradyuman (coldly): Aaj ke baad kabhi nandini ko maa mat kahna... Or naa hi mujhse kabhi koi rishta jodne ki koshish karna.
Without another word, ACP walked away, leaving Abhijeet standing there, his head hanging low. Daya placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, but Abhijeet didn't respond.
As ACP disappeared into his cabin, Abhijeet stared at the closed door, his heart heavy with guilt and determination. He knew he had to make things right, no matter how long it took.
The oppressive silence in the bureau lingered long after ACP Pradyuman had stormed off. Abhijeet stood motionless, his fists still clenched, as the weight of his superior's harsh words suffocated him. The rest of the team, observing from the corner, couldn't hide their disappointment, though no one spoke. Daya's eyes were filled with concern, but he knew better than to intervene further. The rift between the ACP and Abhijeet had deepened, and nothing could heal it now—not today.
Abhijeet turned slowly, his steps heavy, as he walked towards his desk. His heart was a battlefield, torn between guilt, regret, and helplessness. But most of all, it was the loneliness that gripped him, the feeling of being a stranger to the very people he had once called his family.
As he passed Daya, he tried to offer a small, apologetic smile. But Daya only looked away, his face tight with frustration. Abhijeet's heart sank further.
In Canteen
Later that day, Abhijeet found himself sitting alone at the canteen table, his lunch untouched. His mind raced with the conversation from earlier. Every word from ACP Pradyuman echoed in his ears, and he couldn't silence it, no matter how hard he tried. He knew he had crossed a line—he had kept the truth from ACP, and that betrayal weighed on him like a ton of bricks.
The door to the canteen opened, and ACP Pradyuman walked in, his usual firm stride betraying nothing of the turmoil that surely lay beneath. Abhijeet watched him closely, his heartbeat quickening as an opportunity arose—just a single moment to fix this, to apologize properly, to make ACP understand.
He stood up quickly, his heart pounding in his chest.
Abhijeet (pleading): Sir, mujhe baat karni hai aap se... ek baar... please.
ACP Pradyuman stopped for a brief moment, his eyes narrowing. He glanced at Abhijeet, his expression cold and unreadable. But without a word, he continued walking towards the counter, ignoring him completely.
Abhijeet's face fell, the rejection more painful than he had imagined. He couldn't understand why ACP had to be this harsh—why he couldn't see how much Abhijeet regretted his actions.
He watched as the rest of the team walked into the canteen, exchanging glances, but no one came near him. It was as if a barrier had been drawn, a barrier he himself had built by his own lies.
Daya entered last, his face stern. Abhijeet caught his eye, but Daya quickly averted his gaze. There was no warmth in his eyes now. It was as though the trust they had shared had disappeared, leaving only a cold, distant stranger in its place.
Abhijeet's throat tightened. He returned to his seat, the emptiness around him almost suffocating. He couldn't shake off the feeling that he had lost everything—his friendship, his team, his purpose.
He tried again, his voice softer this time.
Abhijeet (moist tone): Aap sab aisa kyun kar rahe ho... Kya aap sab mujhe kabhi maaf nahi karoge?
The room fell silent as everyone stopped talking. But No one moved toward him, no one said a word. It felt like a wall had been erected around him, a barrier he had no idea how to break through.
He walk towards daya...
Abhijeet (Sad tone): Tum to mere dost ho naa tum to baat karo mujhse yrr
This time, the others turned their attention to Abhijeet, their faces revealing a mixture of disappointment, frustration, and disbelief.
Daya, who was sitting next to Sachin, shifted uncomfortably, his expression hardening as he spoke.
Daya (looked away): jis dosti ki tum baat kar rahe ho Abhijeet uski to buniyaad hi juth par hui hai...or ab jb tumhare juth par se parda uth hi chuka hai to fir koun si dosti bachi hai humare beech ... Mai ab tumhe apna dost nhi manta..
Abhijeet felt his breath catch. Daya's words were like a slap to his face. He had expected disappointment, but hearing it from Daya, someone who had always stood by him, stung more than he could have imagined.
Abhijeet (pleading): Aisa mat bolo plss... Commissioner sahab mere..
Dr. Salunkhe (interrupting, visibly upset): Bus karo Abhijeet apna ye drama... Tumhare karan maine aaj ACP ke aankhon Mai aansu dekhen hai... tumne uska bahut dil dukhaya hai or eske liye hum main se koi tumhe kabhi maaf nahi karega.
Abhijeet flinched, his chest tightening with every word. Dr salunkhe, who had always been reserved, now spoke with such intensity that it took Abhijeet by surprise. The reality of his actions was sinking in, and the weight of it all was becoming unbearable.
Daya (softly but firmly): Abhijeet yahan apna time waste mat karo... Lunch karo jakar
Abhijeet opened his mouth, but no words came out. What could he say now? How could he explain the mess he had created?
Daya's voice softened a little as he continued.
Daya (calm but hurt): Abhijeet plss abhi sabko space chahiye abhi kisi ko explanation mat do specially ACP sir... Unhe samjhne ke liye thoda samay do
He took a deep breath, gathering whatever little courage was left inside him.
Abhijeet (voice breaking): Ager aap sab yahi chahte hai to thik hai... Aap logo nee bina mere baat sune mujhe mujrim bana diya hai... Or sabne apna faisla suna hi diya hai to thik hai.
There was a long silence. No one spoke. Abhijeet's words seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. The weight of his mistake was too heavy to ignore, and the silence only deepened the gap between him and the team. They couldn't just forget what had happened. He had crossed a line, and now, no apology could easily erase the damage.
After a moment, Daya looked at him, his face softening just slightly, though the disappointment still lingered.
Daya (sighing): Tum Plss yahan se chale jao ACP sir ko tumahara yahan bethna shyd acha nahi lagega.
Abhijeet's heart shattered at those words. He had lost the trust of his closest friends. How could he fix it? How could he take back the pain he had caused?
Sachin (shaking his head): Sir aap jyada baat mat kijiye inse... Kahin pata chale inhone aapki shikayat kar di ...or fir aapka demotion pakka .
Abhijeet said nothing he slowly back into his chair, his face a mask of guilt. As the team continued with their lunch, ignoring him, Abhijeet sat there, silently staring at his untouched plate.
ACP is watching Abhijeet and the team from a distance .
ACP Pradyuman (To himself): Es baar mai tumhe maaf nahi karunga Abhijeet...tumne sirf ek acp ka hi nahi balki ek baap ka bhi dil dukhaya hai naa jaane kya kya sapne sajane laga tha mai...(teary tone) apna beta maan betha tha mai tumhe or tumne Etna bada dhokha diya mujhe...mai tumhe kabhi maaf nahi karunga...he took a deep breaths kabhi nahi
Commissioner Bhairav kese Lage Aapko?? Kya lagta hai unke karan ACP Sir or Abhijeet ke bich ki misunderstanding badhege ya kam ho jayege ?? Any Idea??
