(Saturday, Miami Hospital, 11 am)
"Why are you even here?"
Tami turned to Lee, her eyes filled with fury.
"My best friend is sitting in that hospital bed, with a gunshot wound, Leander, and you're asking why I'm here."
Hospitals suck, they mentally, emotionally, physically, and psychologically drain you.
The teens were all in the hospital next to where Marc was being treated, as Marc had just been rushed inside to be treated for the gunshot wound. The last thing Tami saw was Marc's blood, cold, eyes, his sweet brown eyes filled with intelligence, filled with kindness, and sarcasm, that light that shined when he helped someone with their homework, it was gone, and tears streamed down Tami's face seeing him in the stretcher.
The world around her seemed to blur, and all she could focus on was the sight of Marc, pale and motionless, being taken away from her. The sweet boy, with the loving doe eyes, soft expressions, and sweet tone in his voice, who she always studied with, who was always nice to her no matter how means she was, who she was mad at for kissing her, who was the brother of the love of her life, was now in the room in the hospital.
With a bullet in his body.
"How could this happen?"
Tami just sighed, as she lowered her head, and cried silently.
Tony's wound had been healed, thankfully, as the bullet didn't do any harm, he wore a cast and was just waiting for updates on Marc. Lee was shaking, while he was in his room crying like a child, Marc was trying to doing his job as a spy. Lee and the rest were just..tired.
"Please be ok, please be ok, please, please be ok."Tami prayed as Lee rubbed her arm, his face filled with slight resentment.
Tami's cousin Calisha came along as well, since she also witnessed everything, and she felt bad for the fight. The sterile smell, the people talking, and the odd medicine made Tony gag, the constant beeping of machines was annoying Lee, and the sight of sick individuals created a sense of unease for the teens.
Lee, Tami, Megan, Tony, and Calisha, were all waiting for updates on Marc.
Megan was downstairs, getting snacks for everyone, and Calisha was doodling to distract herself, her blonde hair covering her face, as she doodled away. The hustle and bustle of medical professionals attending to patients, combined with the feeling of uncertainty, caused the four(three minus Calisha).
While Marc was being treated, Lee and Tami were bickering with one another.
"How could you ask something like this, your brother is in there, mostly at death's door, I am putting my petty feelings behind me so I can see if the only Clark sibling that genuinely cared about me, is going to live or DIE, Lee! I can't- You are so self-centered, how dare-"
"ONLY?!"
Lee's yell echoed through the hospital floor, thankfully Marc's room didn't hear it, and before anyone could react, Tami's hand made a sharp sound as it connected with his cheek. Lee winced, feeling the sting of the slap, his heart racing as he struggled to control his emotions. Sweat beaded on his forehead, and a chill ran down his spine. Lee was sweating, and cold, as Tami started yelling.
"Out of all the places to start yelling like that, you want to yell in here."
Lee made a face at Tami, but she was wrong, andshe was right, but Lee still made a snarky comment at the popular teen girl's whispers.
"Don't sit here like you weren't the cause of this; first you yelled at me at the new house, picking a fight with someone you knew you weren't getting along with is crazy, then you kissed my brother, who is now sitting in that room, by the way, then you fought my sister, for gods know what, and now this happens?"
"Excuse me?!"
Tami stormed off, leaving Tony Calisha, and Lee alone.
Howcould this happen?
How?
"I'm sorry she's like that."Calisha apologized, looking up from her drawing, and softly blushed at the teen boy, while smiling at Lee.
Lee smiled, knowing that at least someone was distracting her so she didn't have to focus too much on the situation right now."It's ok, if I had been through what she had been through these last few days, I would be angry too. Whatcha drawing?"Lee asked, walking over to see what the girl was drawing.
"It's my grandma. I still remember my grandma who passed away when I was 5, in the hospital. I often find myself drawing pictures of her from time to time".
Lee smiled at that, that was until...
"Why did Tami say that you're a bad brother? From what I can tell, you being here makes you a better brother than any of my siblings."
Lee choked up while Calisha asked this, but she continued.
"I understand that it must have been hurtful to hear Tami say that you're a bad brother. Even though I've only known you guys for a few days, I can see that Marc loves you."
"How many do you have? Siblings, I mean."Lee asked, resting his hand on his chin.
"Six."
Lee's eyes widened as he chatted away with the blondie, unaware of the bustle around him.
Nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals hurried past, attending to their various duties. The hospital bustled with activity as patients were wheeled through the corridors on gurneys, their concerned family members trailing behind.
The beeping of monitors and the distant hum of conversations created a constant backdrop of sound. Lee remained engrossed in conversation, oblivious to the commotion around him.
"When I first met Marc, he seemed quiet, but I could tell from the way he spoke and carried himself
Tami returned, still mad at Lee as Calisha and Lee were wrapping up their conversation, Tony handed Tami some headphones so she could listen to some music.
(10 minutes past)
Tami sat nearby, resting her head on Lee's when he got up, shocking her, taking her headphones off to hear.
"Tami, um, Megan's gonna be here soon, you should go. Like right now."
"I just got here."
"You almost died in that fight with my sister. I will not have the stress of feeling like I will lose another-"
"LEE!"
The tension in the hospital room was palpable. Lee's voice trembled with emotion as he struggled to contain his feelings, and Tami's eyes were filled with tears as she grappled with the fear and uncertainty of the situation. The weight of the moment hung heavy in the air, and every word and every gesture was charged with raw emotion. As Megan's arrival loomed, the sense of urgency and desperation became almost suffocating. Tami pushed him, tears in her eyes.
"You are such a horrible brother, No wonder he hates you,"Tami growled with tears, now all over her face, her throat choking with anger, before leaving.
Megan arrived minutes later with snacks, handing them out one by one, but her mental state was on her twin brother.
Her mind was filled with memories of the times she and Marc had shared, from walking together to matching together to missions, losing Marc was something that didn't even cross her mind, and yet here she was, at a hospital, not even in her city, with the girl she fought and her cousin, sitting there, waiting for updates, and the thought of never being able to see him smile, or joke with her again made her feel a profound sense of despair.
"Where's Tami?"Megan asked as she sat next to her brother, handing him water.
"Stormed off, calling me a bad brother."Lee breathed out in frustration, rolling his eyes.
"Lee, she's damn right. Yesterday could have been the last thing you said to Marc, where the hell did this come from?"
"Tami." Lee stated.
"What about Tami-"
Lee basically yelled at Megan, while standing up.''What did you think? Kissing my brother, knowing about him and Sheena? How could she do that to him?! To the both of us? TO SHEENA?! Megan, she tried to harm you, I don't really know what you did at that party she was talking about, that had you jump at her like a wild animal, and I won't let her harm the rest of us."
Megan just stared at Lee, her eyes widened in confusion.
"That's a bold thing to say, Leander."
