Ltbutterfly287: How did I strong-arm Ben into being a leader? Sure, I made it so that Ben had the 'louder voice' in a sense where most of Aqualad's orders Ben gave first, I'm aware of that. But Ben has a shit ton of leadership experience not to mention experience in general since he was a hero longer than any of them. Also, for the harem aspect... it's fiction, if you add real-life sense into it, of course, it won't make sense or feel right. In real life, I value my one relationship much more than I would with multiple women, if it's not your taste though, I completely get it. However, also note one-on-one relationships in general aren't about deserving each other either.

This is the Young Justice universe, and everyone is really nerfed, which makes sense since in comics you could have lightning powers one day, then somehow those lightning powers could warp reality or do some other random shit, then you find out you're a God and even after THAT you STILL, wouldn't be even close, to one of the strongest heroes in the Justice League. While, yeah, Ben in the comics world would need major 'Batman plot armor' just to stay relevant in a fight with the aliens he normally has at his disposal. However, Ben in the comics universe could easily just become any of the aliens he's fighting species and be the prime example of them. 2. You should have trusted that 10% because the Omnitrix is, literally, the exact opposite of what you said. It IS a DNA bank of every alien Ben has collected, it doesn't matter what universe you use it in, hell Ben went to Generator Rex's universe and it worked fine there. Sure, we have no evidence that in the 'Generator Rex universe' there weren't the same species of aliens there for Ben to 'scan' but what you are saying about him scanning the universe aliens is also completely not true and has been stated in the show several times the Omnitrix is a databank with 'DNA collected' and 'stored' in the watch. I'm actually curious how you came to that conclusion. Was that said in the reboot or something? 3. If that's the case Beast Boy is a discount Martian Manhunter. Your statement doesn't really make sense, since I'm pretty sure Beast Boy can only shapeshift into things that are in the Red not anything with no limitations. Starro makes sense being a giant starfish and it's not like he hasn't shapeshifted into alien creatures before but it has to be an animal or just a creature in the Red. To be perfectly honest I think you just downplay and lack a lot of knowledge of Ben too much cause he is way more powerful than you describe.

Frankly, sometimes I get a little self-conscious with my grammar since I know that it's shit, and I know it shows in places in this story. (I may need a Beta...) I'm glad you noticed how much work I put into making sure there is a REASON Ben doesn't go back then can't, a lot of writers pass it off so it's better for the plot. Ben 10 is one of my favorite shows of all time, and the Omnitrix and everything it entails is probably one of the most interesting weapons/devices in the history of fiction. Dr. Psychobos walked around his lab grabbing one device after another, trying to perfect his new creation. A dial-like device sits atop the metal table.
"The oh-so-amazing and I use the term loosely, Galvin has tried and failed to create as stable of the device as I have made today. Once I complete this dial I shall be elected the new smartest being in the universe." Dr. Psychobos said with a giddy voice.
"Are you done stroking your ego yet?" Eon said walking in and looking at the crab doctor. "How are your two… patients?"
"One's a dog and the others half-dead," Psychobos says with a wave of his big claw dismissively. Eon looks to the other side of the room to see two metal tables, one holding Kevin 11,000 who was finally almost completely healed, and the other the now brain-dead Khyber.
"And how's our little project?"
"Done."
Eon grinned, "Finally, now to add one more friend to our ranks before our final assault." Eon says lifting his hand towards the wall before a purple portal appears right on the metal wall.
As the vortex shifted it also spit out something as it moved. Finally, the portal closed and what was left was a white-ghost humanoid with an upside-down head and one eye, dressed in a purple ripped-up cloak with a scythe in his clawed hands.
"Heeesh, what happened!" A raspy voice called out looking around the laboratory before setting his eye on Eon. "I was just fighting Tennyson, he created a ball of light with that new alien and… and…" His one eye widened. "I was about to die?!"
"Welcome, Zs'Skayr!" Eon greeted walking towards the ghost with a large grin. "This is a-"
In an instant, Zs'Skayr ditched his scythe on the ground and jumped at Eon with his hands raised, his claws as sharp as blades.
Eon's eyes widened, before almost jumping back while firing a purple blast of time at him. The blast hit the ghost alien but since his alien species did not age it didn't affect him. In milliseconds, Eon revalued his plan. He decided to use his powers to shift himself back in time to one of his former positions. From everyone's perspective, it almost looked like someone had hit the reverse button on Eon as a purple line traced his positions.
Zs'Skayr widened his eye before changing his flight toward Psychobos. As if Psychobos's body was made of liquid, Zs'Skayr sunk into him. Psychobos's eyes then light up purple glow.
"Ahh, so that's what's happening…" Psychobos… Zs'Skayr said from Psychobos's body. His raspy voice came from Psychobos mouth. "Revenge on, Tennyson? Now that's something I want, but I don't plan on being a slave."
"What are you doing?!" Eon yelled.
Zs'Skayr grabbed the dial that Psychobos was working on and laughed to himself. "Don't worry, I'll do exactly what you want."
"Wait!"
Zs'Skayr popped out of Psychobos's body with the dial now in Zs'Skayr's hands. He then put the device on his chest before slamming it down.
"HAHAHAHAHAH-" Zs'Skayr stopped with his creepy laughing before screaming out in pain, while his body morphed and spasmed before looking as if it was ripping apart.
In a bright flash of purple light, Zs'Skayr's body disappeared. Eon's breath grew rapidly as his eyes darted all across the room trying to find the ghost alien's position.
He slightly wondered… and hoped that Psychobos's device had malfunctioned and killed Zs'Skayr, but those thoughts were stopped as he heard a very creepy laugh that he couldn't find an origin to.
"Looking for someone?!" An even more creeper voice asked from behind him.
As Eon looked back, he could see a dark looming creature with tentacles swinging around the room.
"...Oh fuck no…" Eon teleported out of the room instantly.
Zs'Skayr laughed before slapping his body straight through the ceiling like it was made of cardboard and appeared on the planet's surface with not a single scratch.
"HAHAHAHAH! Today the sun will be covered in darkness! Let the night be eternal! Today starts the new age of Forever Darkness!"
Earth had now been plunged into eternal night.
Mount Justice
November 5, 11:40
In the training room stood Ben, Koriand'r, Connor, M'gann, and Red Tornado. All of them waited for the remaining Team members to get to the cave to get briefed about the newest mission.
As the Zeta Tubes lit up in a golden-white light, the remaining team members Robin, Batgirl, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Zatanna, and Artemis, walked out all of them looking somewhat confused.
"Does anyone know what's happening out there?" Wally asked, "It's nighttime everywhere! All around the world."
Robin nodded, "RT, was there another attempt by Wotan to block out the sun?"
"Another?" Ben, M'gann, Connor, and Koriand'r all asked at the same time.
"Not that I'm aware, I received the same information as you all. This meeting should explain all of our questions." Red Tornado responded waiting for the Zeta Tubes to once again turn on.
Ben looked around at his Team and narrowed his eyes, the entire Team was called by Batman shortly after the sky suddenly turned night, Batman should have been here by now, right?
"I'm guessing it's not common then for the sky to suddenly turn the night on Earth?" Koriand'r asked looking at the ceiling.
"Not this early," Ben commented before looking at her with a raised brow. "Is it on Tamaran?"
Before Koriand'r could answer the teen the Zeta Tubes once again lit up.
"Batman Z-01, Captain Marvel A-05, Black Canary A-03"
The 3 heroes all walked out of the Zeta Tube each one lined up and walking together completely in sync. Their movement and silence were offputting for the Team.
Kid Flash decided to lighten the mood by throwing in a joke, "Are we in trouble?"
Black Canary gave a smile to the Team but her sudden change expression only managed to creep out the teens even more. "You're not in trouble. We are here to brief you on your new mission."
Ben narrowed his eyes slightly, 'Something isn't right.'
"Something wrong, Tennyson?" Batman asked walking up to Ben. Just then the teen realized that his right arm had instinctively reached for the Omnitrix.
The Team looked at Batman, some had sweat dripping from their foreheads. "Hey, maybe-" Batgirl tried to intervene but was stopped by Batman.
"Not now Batgirl."
Ben looked up at Batman's cowl, slightly backing up. "No, I-" Ben stopped as he came to a sudden realization. "What did you call me?"
"What do you-"
"Tennyson," Ben clarified, narrowing his eyes in suspicion. "You called me, Tennyson." That wasn't like Batman at all, he would always call him Omni or Ben since that's what he insisted he call him but never Tennyson.
The others looked at Batman and then looked back at the other Leaguers. They noticed Black Canary's smile had dropped and she seemed to be clearing her voice. They also noticed Captain Marvel has been uncharacteristically quiet.
Red Tornado's robotic eyes darted around the room, following his fellow Leaguer's every move. Suddenly, every member of the Team had their attention on Batman as he made an expression none of them thought they would ever see on him… he was smiling. But not a joyful smirk, there was a manic grin on his face, one that ironically rivaled the Joker's.
"Guess the jig is up," Batman's voice was very raspy as he said that, and suddenly a white ghost-like body phased out of Batman's stomach and phased right through Ben's. The hit held some momentum as Ben was knocked off his feet and gripping his stomach tightly as if he had a stomach ache.
The Team's eyes widened and got ready to fight but were knocked off guard again as a loud scream made them all cover their ears.
Superboy looked at Black Canary and saw that she was using her Canary Cry on them. He was the quickest to recover and turned on his watch granted him his full Kryptonian abilities and rushed at the woman but he was instantly knocked back by a backhand from Captain Marvel. Superboy then slammed into the walls of the cave trying to shake off his pain. Red Tornado tried to help but the Canary Cry was directed towards him and started to rip his android body's metal skin before launching him back.
Ben still gripping his stomach suddenly heard a sound from the Omnitrix and saw the hourglass symbol beeping. "Ectonurite possession not authorized by user!" After that, the tiny ghost creature was shot out of his stomach and thrown into the air.
Ben finally got a good look at it and it looked like a kid version of Ghostfreak.
"What the hell is happening?!" Ben cried out reaching for his Omnitrix.
"Long time no see, Tennyson!" A voice he thought he would never hear again suddenly rang through the cave Ben looked at the ghost alien and his eyes shot open.
"Ghostfreak?!"
"Zs'Skayr you dolt! Not that stupid name you gave that knockoff version of me in your Omnitrix! My name is ZS'SKAYR!" The mini ghost said as it zipped around the cave.
"Geez man, ok, Zs'Skayr how are you even alive?" Ben asked with a raised brow while communicating with M'gann. 'How are you guys doing? Can any of you take out Black Canary while I buy some time?'
'I got it!' Robin called out in his mind as he threw a disc filled with knockout gas at Black Canary's feet. Canary jumped away from the disc, hoping to avoid the gas but at the same time, she turned off her Canary Cry.
Wally shook off his pain and ran towards Canary to take her out before she could emit another Canary Cry. Captain Marvel ran in front of Wally hoping to stop him but Superboy and Starfire intercepted the man, pushing him out of the way of Wally's assault as he successfully knocked Black Canary off her feet with a sweep of her legs.
As Canary roughly hit her head on the ground Kid Flash cleaned off the dust in his hands with a smirk. "Thanks for the move, Teach."
The mini Ectonurite narrowed his eye.
"Seems like the Omnitrix has come with some new tricks."
Ben chuckled getting ready to transform. "I'll say I didn't even know it could prevent possession."
"No matter, I have a few new tricks of my own." The mini Ectonurite said as it slammed back into Batman's body.
The rest of the Team shook off their pain and surprise and got ready to fight, Miss Martian set up the mental link as well.
'What's happening?!' Artemis cried out in her mind.
'My guess is some kind of ghost has possessed the entire League…' Kid Flash answered with a shrug.
Superboy and Starfire struggled with Captain Marvel before Superboy snarky replied. 'Yeah, I noticed that.'
Ben slammed down the Omnitrix dial transforming into Swampfire. 'Not just any Ghost, Ghostfreak, or Zs'Skayr whatever. The short version is he was an alien in the Omnitrix that escaped and now what's to possess my body.'
'I… almost don't want to hear the long version.' Robin thought with a sigh. Once Ben was involved things just started to get more confusing.
'Well discuss it later.' Aqualad said getting his two water bearers.
'Agreed, Superboy, take out Batman. Artemis, Robin, and Kid Flash take down Black Canary. Batgirl, Aqualad, Starfire, Zatanna and me will take down CM. Superboy once you subdued Batman help us with CM.' Ben ordered, everyone nodded and raced off to their opponents. Miss Martian being the only one without orders stayed back.
'What about me?'
'There might be a chance more Leaguers on their way, get to the Bioship and tell us when it's ready. Where going to have to abandon the cave for now.' Miss Martian nodded and flew off.
Batarangs were thrown at Superboy that exploded on impact, however, it did little to Superboy's body. In a burst of speed, Superboy was in front of Batman grabbing his left arm in an iron grip that no normal man could break.
However, Batman was not a normal man, he was Batman. Batman quickly quipped a metal knuckle duster on his right fist that sparked with electricity. Batman punched Superboy in the face and managed to do some damage to him making him let go of his arm. With his left arm free Batman quipped a second knuckle duster and started to punch Superboy again before bringing his hands together smacking the metal knuckle dusters into Superboy's head.
Superboy had enough at that point and launched into Batman, he grabbed Batman's waist, spinning while hovering in the air before tossing Batman into the walls of the cave.
Artemis and Robin kept a safe distance as Canary launched her sonic waves at them, Kid Flash speeding around her waiting for an opening.
Robin launched a couple of batarangs and discs at Canary but this time the sonic screech was aimed at the projectiles and destroyed them when making contact.
"Let's see how she likes a taste of her own medicine," Artemis comments shooting an arrow up in the air. Black Canary saw the arrow in the air and got ready to destroy it as well but recoiled as a sonic screech came out of the arrow.
Kid Flash rammed right into Canary sending her tumbling through the cave's floor. Wally holding his ears in discomfort. "Next time tell a guy you're about to do that!"
Ben launched a fire blast at Captain Marvel which immediately dissipated as it made contact with his body. Marvel then slammed his fist through Swampfire's stomach but it didn't do anything to the plant alien. Swampfire grinned as he always loved this part he widened up his fist before delivering several blows to Marvel's face each one doing as much damage as the last… none.
Ben's eyes go wide in worry, "...Oh." Captain Marvel was such a jokester and so non-serious that it was honestly easy to forget how powerful he really was. With a swipe from Captain Marvel's hand, Swampfire was sent flying into the ceiling of the cave.
Starfire sent several green blasts of energy at Marvel managing to actually do a small amount of damage. Meanwhile, Aqualad and Batgirl, decked out in her new Mechamorph armor suit, went for a frontal assault. Aqualad with his water bearers turning into long blades and Batgirl Mechamorph Armor blades both tried to slice at Marvel's incurable body but neither seemed to do any damage.
"Knis!" Zatanna called out her spell as Marvel got ready for a counterattack but suddenly couldn't move as the rock below him suddenly seemed to turn into quicksand as he started to sink into the ground.
Aqualad took this chance to turn his water blades into one giant hammer and slam it into Marvel's head, Starfire also took that chance to attack, and with a loud battle cry, she punched Marvel in the face. Both promised in their heads to apologize to him later.
'Team the Bioship is ready!'
"Urg!" Swampfire landed back on the ground before slowly getting up and transforming back into Ben. 'Good work M'gann! Alright Team, time to retreat!'
The Team all took that time to fly back or run away from their opponents, Red Tornado finally coming back from his attack by Canary aimed his hands at the three Leaguers.
"Team run!" His arms summoning two tornados that started to suck all the oxygen around the three Leaguers suffocating them.
Batman and Canary both grabbed their necks instinctively before passing out while Captain Marvel broke from his prison in the ground and launched towards Red Tornado slamming his fist into Red Tornado's chest.
"Tornado!" Several of the Team including Ben all screamed out at once.
Marvel's hand ripped out a good chunk of Red Tornado's chest even taking out a piece of the 'T' emblem.
Superboy's rage boiled over seeing that. Even if he was a robot to the Team RT was more than that. He would have rushed in and slammed his fists into Marvel's face but he then saw a struggle appear on Captain Marvel's face.
"Red… NO!" He said losing his flight a falling to the ground, slamming into the cave floor. The Team looked on with Ben ordering Superboy to grab Red's body. They then saw the man gritting his teeth while slamming his fists into the side of his head. "I won't… YOU WON'T HURT ANYONE ELSE! SHAZAM!" A strike of lightning came from the very heavens and slammed into Captain Marvel's body.
The Team heard a creepy cry in anguish, most likely the mini Ectonurite in his body being expelled or dying. Ben figured the latter since the lightning was quite bright and Ectonurites were basically allergic to bright lights.
Out from the bright lightning came a 10-year-old boy with black hair wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans. The Team stood shocked for a moment before Ben quickly shook off the shock.
"Kid get the.. CM and get to the Bioship!"
Wally nodded before racing off and grabbing Marvel's body Superboy was not far behind him with Tornado's body.
The Team then left the cave with the two unconscious Leaguers left on the ground.

Vandal Savage typed desperately on the computer terminal in front, he gave up whatever he was doing and growled before punching the computer in frustration.
"Klarion!" Savage yelled out and in an instant, a red portal appeared next to him, and out came Klarion.
"Whaaaat." The child-like chaos lord whined as he played with the cat on his shoulder. Savage didn't even look back at him as he gave his orders.
"This new player will be a threat to our plans eliminate them I'll deal with Eon."
Klarion grinned gleefully and rubbed his palms together. "Happily!"
November 5, 13:00
The Bioship flew through the night sky as the Team quickly collected their thoughts after what happened in the cave. A groan came from the kid who turned out to be Captain Marvel and grabbed everyone's attention.
"Ugh, what happened?" Billy Batson asked rubbing his head before looking all around, taking in his surroundings, and recognizing the Team was in front of him. He then quickly realized he was in his kid form. "Uhhh, hi…"
"You're a kid!?" Kid Flash cried out hysterically. Artemis facepalmed slightly at Wally stating the obvious.
"Well, yeah, why?" Billy said with a sweet smile making Ben chuckle in amusement.
Aqualad raised a brow at his Leader's demeanor even now. "My friend, you don't seem as surprised as the rest of us."
Ben waved it off looking at Billy. "He looks about the same age that I started doing hero work. Plus I can't really tell him to stop doing this since he's too young without being a hypocrite."
Robin let out a groan, "I started training at 9 but it wasn't till 12 that I actually got to fight an actual supervillain, meanwhile, a 10-year-old is on the League."
Billy smirked at him before yelling "Shazam!" A bolt of lightning came from the ceiling of the ship and struck down on the kid, transforming him back into Captain Marvel. "HA! You guys are just jealous." He said crossing his arms smugly.
Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Robin remained quite not willing to admit he was right.
Marvel then frowned looking around the ship, "Where's Red?" He said with a saddened tone. The back of the ship morphed revealing another room behind the control center, showing Red Tornado's body.
Captain Marvel went up to the body with anger showing on his face. "I used Grey Matter to get him back online but I don't have any parts to repair him," Ben says before looking at Barbara with her Mechamorph Armor on. "Sorry Batgirl but do you mind…"
"Of course not," She stated as the armor melted off her suit and formed into a black box with blue stripes. "The Armor really isn't my style anyway."
Ben chuckled taking the box, "I'll make sure to give you some special batarangs like Robin." Ben then walked over to Tornado's body and placed the box onto the android's caved-in chest. The Mechamorph Armor melted into the android and covered his body. In the end, he ended up looking a lot like Red Elemento, even the blue lines turned red.
Tornado slowly got up from the ground as he looked over his body. "Thank you, Team."
"Tornado, I'm so sorry about that I-"
"Do not worry, Captain Marvel. You were possessed like the other Leaguers. We can only hope to snap out the others." Tornado said putting the kid's worry beside as the android continued to look over his body. "This technology is incredible, I can feel myself connected to my sister and two brothers." Tornado states as water, rock, and fire appear in his hands.
"Just don't go all Terminator on us like your sibling, please," Zatanna says with a worried smile.
"I promise I will bring no harm to any of you."
"Where are we now?" Captain Marvel said as he tried to see outside the windows of the Ship to find out their location.
"And more importantly what are we going to do now!?" Superboy asks angrily.
"Where on the outside of Happy Harbor, as for what we're going to do…" Ben hummed, "If the entire League is under Ghostfreak's control we need to find him, if we take out the source everything should go back to normal, only thing is this new power-up of his will be trouble." Ben looked over his Team trying to think of a new attack strategy. "Zatanna do you think you can set us up with an anti-possession spell."
"Yeah, just give me a second." She then started to whisper out a spell all of their bodies besides Tornado's lit up golden before the light dimmed down. "There that should prevent any possession."
"Good work," Ben commented, "Alright, now let's-"
*BOOM*
Two beams of heat shot right through the Bioship causing an explosion to blast apart the ceiling. The Bioship then started to fall out of the air to the ground.
Red Tornado quickly jumped to action creating two large tornadoes from his arms that combined into one large tornado that carried the Bioship into its current before having it slap into the ground safer than before.
"Shit!" Ben said rubbing his head and he lifted himself off the open blasted off roof of the Bioship. Ben then looked up and found out what had hit them. "Oh no,"
"What is it- oh…" Robin commented being the next to rise out from the Bioship and looked to the sky with wide eyes. The rest of the Team came out of the Bioship and also stood flabbergasted the two members of the League joined in as well.
In front of them stood the possessed forms of most of the Justice League. How did they know they were possessed they were all now sporting purple eyes with black lines crossing over their faces.
Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Hal Jordan, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Hawkman, Hawkwoman, Zatara, Black Canary, and John Stewart. All of them either floated or stood in front of the Team ready for a fight.
"Hand over, Tennyson!" The raspy voice of the Zs'Skayr came from Superman's mouth making some of them get the shivers.
"Or die!" Wonder Woman finished again with the Zs'Skayr's voice.
"Not going to happen!" The whole Team besides Ben said in unison. Ben looked around at the Team and smiled at them, he knew they had his back but even in a hopeless situation like this, it was nice to know they would still stick by him no matter what. Ben grinned as he looked at the Justice League's possessed forms.
"Hahaha!" The Justice League all let out a laugh at their answer.
"You hear that, Tennyson?!"
"All these pathetic excuses for heroes sticking by you…"
"Ready to die for you!"
"I can't wait to torture them in front of you-"
"Maybe then you will give up the Omnitrix willingly!"
"Or you can do so now…"
"And I will give you all the pleasure of a swift death!"
Ben grinned as he readied the Omnitrix, "I don't think so, Ghostfreak!"
"IT'S HERO TIME!"
Ben pressed down the dial to the Omnitrix and quickly transformed to Cromastone. 'I'll get the Lantern's.' He told his Team to step in front of the green lasers come at them and absorb the energy from them.
A loud battle cry rang out from the battlefield as Superboy rocketed off the ground and slammed his fist into Superman's face. Superboy didn't stop the assault and quickly kept up his attacks hitting Superman over and over.
Cromastone flew past several of Hal and John's light constructs firing a multicolored blast at them. 'Be honest… you enjoying beating him up aren't you.' Ben thought out to Superboy with a chuckle passing through the mental link through the Team.
'It's like therapy,' Superboy said as a grin passed over his face as he kept punching Superman more. While he and Superman have started to bond after the Injustice League he still harbored some feeling of resentment towards the man that ignored him for months. Superman tried to counterattack with his own punch the speed and strength way faster than Superboy's own.
Superboy, however, saw the hit coming and quickly countered with a move Black Canary taught him by grabbing onto Superman's arm before hurling him over his shoulder and sending him straight to the ground. Superman got ready to attack again but was intercepted by Captain Marvel punching them in the face, the boy immediately winced after doing so and yelled out "Sorry, Supey… I am so dead when this is over."
Robin, Artemis, and Batgirl started to fight the street-level heroes like Green Arrow and Black Canary. All of them kept their distance from each other.
Robin then pulled out a couple of his special discs and threw them into the air above the Leaguer's, Green Arrow countered by shooting an arrow into one of the discs the arrow caused an explosion and made all the discs blow up.
"We can't get close they'll slaughter us and keeping our distance isn't going to work either. While they still seemed possessed they still had their own skills, if they got too close were done for." Robin said trying to think up a new strategy.
Canary let out another Canary Cry at them making Batgirl and Robin cover their ears. However, Artemis pushed through the pain and fired an arrow at Canary. The arrow soared through before the stick blew off the arrowhead and the arrowhead landed in front of Canary. She was surrounded by a green force field as the Canary Cry was still being used the soundwaves were trapped inside the bubble. Once again Canary's own trick was used against her as she covered her ears before falling down in the force field in pain.
Green Arrow decided to try and close the distance by running in quickly going on the offensive with the young heroes.
Meanwhile, in the air, Batman was seen in his Batplane watching the battle from above before seeing Superman getting double-teamed by Captain Marvel and Superboy. Batman in turn sent four missiles toward the three. Captain Marvel barely had time to turn around as he saw four oncoming missiles meters away from his body. Several explosions rang out from the sky caused by the missiles.
Red Tornado soared through the sky with half of his body a tornado as he propelled in the air as Hawkman and Hawkwoman followed him closely.
Tornado, while flying, sent multiple blasts of fire behind him, Hawkman and Hawkwoman both dodged the attacks. Tornado felt his robotic brain processing the information of the battle faster than ever before, it was definitely from the Mechamorph Armor, he could feel it factor his sibling's powers, his own, and several other factors of the fight.
He quickly stopped in mid-air, the sudden halt in movement took both the Hawks off guard but they couldn't stop. Their momentum carried them past Tornado as the android lifted two giant stones out from the ground lifting them in the air before tossing them at both the Hawks. The giant boulders slamming into them and making them crash into the Earth below.
Aqualad and Zatanna both stood next to each other as they faced off against Aquaman and Zatara. Aquaman jumped at the two young heroes, his fist reeled back ready to deliver a blow that would end both of them.
"Tcetorp!" A golden force field appeared in front of both of them with Zatanna holding up her arms and hands emitting the same aura. "I can't hold this forever." She stated with a struggle.
"Understood…" Aqualad commented trying to come up with an idea.
"Ekirts meht nwod!" Zatara chanted his spell as his magic wand emitted lightning bolts that struck the forcefeild making Zatanna wince.
"Ok! Now I REALLY can't hold this for long!"
"Tornado!" Aqualad called out to the skies, the red and black android heard him and looked down. "I need water!" Aqualad started taking out his water bearers, Tornado nodded his head as he held up his hands, and out from his palms came two bursts of water that splayed down onto the ground.
Aqualad's water bearers lip up an aqua blue as his control of the water started. He breathed one big breath before molding the water into a double helix that shot up in the air. The two towers of water spun around each other before crashing down onto the two heroes knocking them off their feet.
Suddenly the entire battle started to slow down as two streaks of yellow and red were seen speeding around the battlefield. Wally, even with his kinetic belt and speed boots, was having trouble keeping up with Flash. They sped around the battle field trading blows with each other.
The battlefield regained its normal pace as Miss Martian and Martian Manhunter stranded blows in the air with Miss Martian having a harder time keeping up with her uncle since his density shifting was way more advanced, however, thanks to her more powerful telekinetic abilities it allowed her to breach the gap.
Starfire and Wonder Woman also were in the air fighting rather close to the two Martians. Both warrior women were in a statement. Starfire quickly hit Wonder Woman's head with a sidekick and then spun around to kick her again in the chest.
Wonder Woman floated back gaining some distance between the two before counterattacking with a punch to Starfire's stomach and then another to her face.
Starfire tried to go for a counter punch but it was immediately caught and then twisted behind her back. Wonder Woman then grappled onto Starfire embracing her before twisting her body back to throw the Tamaran over her.
Starfire regained her balance in the air but not before the Lasso of Truth was around her arms Diana yanked Starfire towards her, but Diana was met with an energy-covered kick to the face slamming Diana into the ground.
In the Batplane, Batman got ready to fire another onslaught of missiles this time on the street-level Team below. However, his attempts were stopped as a blast of energy destroyed one of the wings of the Batplane. Batman immediately ejected from the Batplane and glided down to the ground thanks to his cape.
The Batplane, however, was left falling towards the Earth crashing down next to Batgirl, Artemis, Robin, and Green Arrow launching them all back from the explosion.
As Batman glided through the air he was able to see the origin of the blast that shot down his plane and narrowed his eyes.
Cromastone continued to battle the two Green Lanterns's neither of their constructs, from the miniguns, boxing gloves, asteroids, giant baseball bats, giant mallets, and hell even a giant cheese grater, affected him since Cromastone could just absorb all their powers, and throw it back at them.
However, he was also slowly learning just how much Hal and John barely tried during their training matches. Their shields were way harder to break now and they are faster than ever.
Suddenly, a blast of golden energy shot at John that was quickly blocked by another light construct shield, however, the shield quickly shattered to pieces and slammed into John anyway.
Cromastone looked up to see the source of the attack and saw Captain Atom flying towards the battlefield looking slightly beat up.
"What took you?" Cromastone asked going back to back with Captain Atom as the two Lanterns got ready for another battle. "And, not that I'm complaining, but why aren't you possessed like the rest of them?"
"We were all on the Watchtower when it happened, and a bunch of mini-ghosts just came out of nowhere a just started to possess everypossessCaptain Atom started before dodging a couple of light constructs and blasts from the two lanterns. "One tried to possess me, right when it entered my suit it seemed to be destroyed or something, either way after they saw they all started attacking me. I just barely escaped through a Zeta Tube."
Ben's eyes widened as he looked over Captain Atom no longer caring about the battle. 'Captain Atom is basically living radiation, kind of like how Echo Echo is living sound. If an Ectonurite tried to enter his body it would be burnt up by a large amount of radiation and the light that radiation emits.'
Ben then changed up his tactics with Cromastone, instead of emitting a rainbow-colored beam of light he instead started to emit a large amount of light as both Green Lanterns rushed at the two heroes.
"Follow my lead!" Cromastone says the white light emitting from his body starting to grow brighter. Captain Atom nodded and also started to emit a bright light from his body. Both Green Lanterns recoiled slightly as they felt like their skin was burning but it was really the Ectonurites in their bodies that felt the burning. "NOW!"
Both energy and radiation-controlling heroes sent a pillar of light from their fists out toward the Green Lanterns who both got engulfed in the blasts.
A loud raspy screech was heard from the blast before both Green Lanterns fell to the ground in a daze.
Cromastone floated down to Hal and John quickly shaking them awake. Hal was the first to wake up, "Wh-what happened?"
John then quickly woke up after, "Where are we?"
"Both good questions, but I've got a better one. Can you both still fight or at the very least spawn a giant light?" Ben asked the two.
The whole battlefield had their attention change to where the the giant light was being spawned. Flash after getting one last punch on Kid Flash immediately ran away, Superman wasn't far behind him grabbing onto Batman as he flew away with Wonder Woman hot on their trail. The rest of the League, however, could only watch and feel the pain from the Ectonurites getting burned from the inside of their bodies.
Both Cromastone and Captain Atom started to emit one giant bright white light. With light as bright as a star Hal and John both got ready help out.
Hal started his Oath to gain more power,
"In brightest day,"
John continued the Oath,
"In blackest night,"
"No evil shall escape my sight!"
"Let those who worship evil's might,"
"Beware my power…"
"GREEN LANTERN'S LIGHT!"
Both Lantern's fully charged rings then sent a large amount of light right into Cromastone which absorbed it. Captain Atom added his own radiation blasts to Cromastone, allowing him to absorb that too. The light got even brighter until the entire battlefield was covered in a light comparable to a star.
That was the last straw for the Ectonurites as each one was ejected from each Leaguer body before sizzling and then burning to ashes.
The light soon died down as Cromastone slowly fell to the ground before being caught by Hal. Ben transformed back into a human before being placed on the ground gently.
"Ugh," Ben said getting up, holding his head in discomfort. He slowly rose to his feet looking around him and seeing his Team coming towards his location. "What happened?"
Robin was the first to speak, holding his arm that was slightly bleeding. "Batman got away… so did Superman."
Starfire then landed on the ground next to Ben with a sad expression, and clear bruises all over her. "Wonder Woman is gone too."
"Same with Flash." Kid Flash said appearing next to Robin, him also covered in bruises.
Ben nodded at the information before sighing. "Alright let's group up with the League and compare notes."
Later
As the League and Team told each other about the incident so far, Ben was thinking over the situation so far.
"Got any ideas?" Artemis asked as the Team walked over to him with concerned looks on their faces.
"I got nothing, Ghostfreak is smart, he's not going to leave a loose end. And now that he's lost his army of superheroes who knows what his next move is." Ben says with a tired sigh.
Canary walked up to the next, "We appreciate all of you helping us, but we need to know where this Ghostfreak or Zs'Skayr is." Several of the other Leaguers came up from behind her to hear if any of the Team had a plan.
Ben realizing he couldn't come up with a new plan on his own immediately went to the Omnitrix and transformed into Brainstorm, instantly a large amount of possibilities rushed through his head using factors of what he knew from Zs'Skayr, what he was like, and how he would operate now.
"Hmm, I would seem that Zs'Skayr has put much thought into this. However, he could not have expected my genius brain to figure out his nefarious plan." Brainstorm said as he looked at the two Martians. "Miss Martian, Martian Manhunter, would you mind using your telepathy to try and find any stray thoughts that were left from those Offspring Ectonurites." Both Martians nodded their eyes glowing a green color as they searched for anything they could J'onn J'onzz's mind.
"As for what he will do now. It is fair to assume that Zs'Skayr can't spawn too large an amount of Offspring most likely without tiring himself out, now that he's lost the League as his army he'll want a new one…"
Batgirl gasped coming to the same conclusion. "Belle Reve…"
Everyone's eyes widened greatly knowing how much chaos could be caused if all the prisoners were under Zs'Skayr's control. Brainstorm nodded, "Zatanna and Zatara will have to use the protection spell again for all of us, after that we will split into three teams. One to stay at Belle Reve prison in case any Offsprings appear or are already there, one to help defeat the Leaguers that are more than likely guarding Zs'Skayr, and the last one, a solo team if you will, me."
Brainstorm transformed back into Ben, "I'll handle, Zs'Skayr." He reiterated in his human form.
Hawkman spoke up, his face stoic as ever. "You think you can handle it. You are the one who said he had some kind of 'upgrade' to him."
"Yeah, kid, just because we were taken by surprise doesn't mean were pushovers." Captain Atom spoke up next.
"Yeah, and now we even know their weakness." Captain Marvel added.
"Maybe," Ben said seemingly staring off into space. "But you don't know his full power set, hell I'm not even sure I know his full power set. But I need to do this." This… became personal.
Vilgax, Eon, Kevin, and now Zs'Skayr people were getting hurt because of him. Because of his problems. Before it was nothing major but more and more of his threats were coming to this universe just to kill him.
'I need to do this…' Ben commented in his mind, he didn't even notice that he said the last bit through the mental link. His Team all gave him concerned looks but before anyone could comment M'gann gasped and sighed.
'I got it. Sending you all the location now.' M'gann said, everyone immediately got a mental image of coordinates implanted into their heads.
'Of course… seems like he shares Eon's sense of irony.' He was right at the place where Bellwood should be. Where Bellwood would be if he was in his universe.
"Alright everyone," Canary said taking charge as most of the leader members of the League were unaccounted for. "We're going to combine the Team and League so-"
"No," Ben said interrupting Canary as everyone looked to him in surprise at his sudden action. "Belle Reve is filled with the League's worse of the worse. You're going to need every heavy hitter you can get. The Justice League will be team one that goes to Belle Reve. The Team will be team two. The one that fights the four members of the Justice League."
"What?!"
"No way!"
"We can't have you guys go in alone!"
"It's too dangerous-"
"No, it's not!" Superboy was the first to back Ben's plan.
"We handled ourselves fighting all of you didn't we." Kid Flash asked his rhetorical question with a slight smirk as the rest of the Team started to stand with them.
"May I remind you all of the state you are in right now because of that fight!" Zatara says looking over the Team as they all either had some bruises, and blood running down their bodies, or ripped clothing.
"This is our fight," Aqualad stated, his face showing he was staying with his team's decision.
Black Canary showed her concern on her face but shoved that to the side. "Fine." She said getting shocked faces from all of the remaining Justice League. "But you guys should take at least one Leaguer for help."
The Team all sported sour looks, they wanted to do this alone, however, Ben had a smirk on his face as his eyes were drawn to one Leaguer. "Fine, well take CM," Ben says, immediately all of the Team grew a smile and a bright smile was on Marvel's face.
"Yes!" He said jumping up and down before appearing next to the Team with an excited grin. "You can count on me!"
The whole Team chuckled at the hero's behavior before quieting down. What they were feeling now was dread at what was about to come.
"We can do this," Aqualad stated, looking up at them all with a determined look that all of his friends matched. "Today is the day!"
The remaining Justice League took that as their sign to walk away and head towards Belle Reve prison. On their way, Green Arrow leaned over to Canary and whispered.
"So… since when did we start taking orders from the 'Junior' League? *Whack* Ow!" He asked before he was lightly swatted in the back of the head by Canary.
"Since they saved our asses." She stated while walking away.
I split this into 2 parts because this chapter was taking too long to get out.
