You sighed as you knew that you'll have to work with these villains. Even though dysfunctional, this villain group seemed too intense to back out. But at least Dabi was part of it so you at least had a reason to stay for him. You figured you should make an effort to get to know these nerds. Though you didnt know where to start. As you sat on the bar counter with Kurogiri who was wiping the glass clean, you just sighed as he didnt seem like the chattiest type as he seemingly ignored your entire existence if Shigaraki wasnt involved or if it wasnt something work oriented. Speaking of, Shigaraki was probably with Giran talking about recruiting more people for some move. And you didnt know where Dabi was, but you had a hunch he was relatively close. You wished to get a better look at him, under better lighting. He looked very handsome, granted you didnt see all the burns or scars or piercings holding him together well. You surmised you needed a bit of time to get yourself together before facing him properly. You didnt wanna gush over the guy like a weirdo, but internally you already felt like fangirling already. There was also the situation with Giran, as he was now onto your little secret
"I did a little bit of digging and now I understand why you're going by Legion now. But I have to say, you have been holding out on me. 2nd most wanted villain in 6 countries. 3rd most wanted in 3 countries and very reputable around europe. And I see a looong list of crimes" Giran spoke, both impressed, amused and intrigued about you. He was impressed by your huge list of crimes, amused by your bewildered reaction and curious just how the hell did you pull it off
"Heheheh" you chuckled nervously "So, what exactly did you find. What do they wanna charge me with" considering you did A LOT. You lost track of the total stuff you did
Giran just took a breath and then started reading from his phone, because there was A LOT "Assault, theft, fraud, stalking, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, terrorism, breaking and entering, arson, identity theft, destruction of private and public property, public endangerment, aggravated assault against the public and police, disturbing the peace, illegal purchase of weapons, escaping prison, possession of contraband, illegal operation of an aircraft, trespassing, accessory to sale of illegal or stolen goods, smuggling, aiding in an escape from prison, blackmailing, threats, vigilantism"
"Ok, I call upon lies and slander about aggravaetd assault against the public and police. It was self defence so I dont get elecrtrocuted and locked away. And the so called public were other criminals who had it against me and my group" you said as if thats the only thing offended about. Nothing else. As you get the other crimes, tho mostly against other criminals and cops. You never really went to harm someone defenceless or terrorise them, but you get the heroes and cops label it that way. You were technically guilty of all non thieving stuff, but for rather GOOD reasons.
Giran chuckles "Hey there, no ones judging you. Im just curious how did you exactly do it. These reports have holes. But from what I understand, you have multiple quirks? Is that how you did it"
You sighed and resigned yourself to spill the truth "My real quirk allows me to copy anyones quirk within my proximity. And before you ask, yes. I already copied your quirk from our first meeting" you then create a fireball in your left hand and hovered it above your palm, but you still felt the burning as if you were holding it. In your right hand you created a ball of ice. You then closed your fist around the flame, extinguishing it and of course burning yourself from it, but the next time you opened your hand, you produced electricity. You then set the ice ball to the side and produced water with your right hand. You then deactivated your quirks
"There. 4 for starters. I like the elemental quirks a lot. But I have some non elemental quirks too to help me out. I also have a quirk here or there thats benign, but hold mostly because Im fond of it. LIke a quirk that turns fabrics or materials pink. Honestly it takes more effect to keep my quirk at bay from holding onto a copied quirk or from copying a quirk in the first place. Of course, its not that peachy and easy to use. I need to know who the quirk came from to use it. And when you dont have an off switch, its hard to know if I got a quirk from you or a hero or a villain or pedestrian number 485. I need to focus on a person and how that person feels. I need to empathise with them. Eventually after enough training it becomes second nature"
"I see. So if its someone you dont get along with, you cant use their quirk at all, even though you have it"
"Yeah, if I cant empathise or sympathise with a person I cant do it. Im not sure if the emotion of hate does anything. Im not sure about all these touchy feeling stuff"
"So technically all those quirks you have, are melded into one. Interesting and impressive. Yeah, I can see it now. Legion. You really are like a legion with those quirks. Although how did you get it so powerful? Normally there is a limit to a quirks power and your seems endless. I never saw any reports of a time limit"
"I heard about a phenomenon called Quirk Awakening. It can come from different scenarios. One of them, when you are on deaths door practically. It just so happens, I nearly died at the hands of... someone bad" memories that you'd prefer not bringing up
"Yeah, it was kill or be killed."
"Mm, considering you werent charged with murder ever, I assume thats a private matter that happened. I wont pry there. But just one more thing. Why keep your quirk a secret?"
"The Nomu. The news said that they have multiple quirks. I didnt want to be mixed up with these Nomus, being confused for one or allied with one. And since I was alone and didnt have any allies or a standing ground, I imagined I'd be a threat to people or a target. I didnt want any of that."
"I see I see"
"Giran, listen to me. Keep this a secret between us. I'll pay you good money. Please"
"Hey hey, dont worry. I'll keep your secret. You my friend, just became an invaluable asset to us. Oh and by the way, I'll be taking that money that you so generously offered"
Suddenly tho, a voice snapped you to your senses as a hand waved infront of you and ended your flashback. Oh right, you were here at the League's Hideout, sitting at the bar with Kurogiri still chilling as a faux bartender
"Hello! Heeellllloooo?"
You flinched a bit at the mini so called jumpscare
"Heelloo, Earth to [y/n]" Toga spoke as you finally registered her existence in your vision
"Oh hey Toga. Whats up?" you asked in a more friendly and polite tone now that the whole business aspect with Shigaraki was gone. Granted Toga still freaked you up a bit, but now you managed to hide that well
"You looked all lost in thought over there. Something bothering you?" she spoke also in a cheery friendly manner. She seemed more calmer, but still childishly bubbly
"Oh um, I was actually wondering who to get to know to and stuff. I figured since we'll be working together we might as well try to know something" you didnt know who to approach tho and how friendly and chummy would they wanna get. Dabi seemed like the type who's too cool for friendship and bonds and just wants to know your quirk and power for the purpose of work. Shigaraki and Kurogiri also seemed more goal oriented than friendship oriented, so that only left...
"Oooh, we can do that!" she excitedly exclaimed as she held your hands "We can be besties! Us girls gotta stick together!"
Her cheery and murdery bubbliness always surprised you, but you appreciated that she wanted to be your friend, bestie even. You smiled softly and nodded "Ok, we can be besties"
Toga then let go of your hands and briefly shook hers as if trying to dry them off "Whoo, your hands are cooold" she spoke as she tried to shake off the cold and then rub her hands to warm them up
You chuckled "Whoops, sorry. I am a bit on the chilly side because of my quirk"
"You should totally give Dabi like a bear hug, that guy looks like he's gotta melt down from the heat" Toga spoke, who apparently already tried chatting up with Dabi and most likely thought that a cold person like you can balance out the guy who was burning himself to a crisp with his fire quirk
"Wha huh?" tho because you have not interacted with Dabi much yet, that whole statement got you a bit flabbergasted. You shook your head so you can get back to your senses, even tho the idea of hugging a guy like that sounded nice. He sounded hot, double entendre version of hot. Tho that did raise the question, would physical contact with him hurt you? Questions for later tho
You saw that Toga was gonna undoubtedly try to probe you about your first reaction, so you quickly spoke up to change the subject "SO, Toga! Whats your quirk?"
The quirk question was the easiest ice breaker and subject changer that was relevant for missions
"I can transform into people whose blood I drink!" she answered, then of course asked back "Whats yours?"
"I have a 2 in 1 sorta deal. I can put people to sleep with a sleep powder. But the more battle ready relevant quirk is the whole ice element thing. Yknow, the freeze people, make ice stuff kinda quirk"
That was the severely abridged version of the need to know basis
"So thats why you're super cold!" she spoke excitedly upon learning that revelation
"Yea, I guess you can say Im like an icicle. Fire is my weakness and can melt me. But me and my quirk are stronger the lower my temperature is. Hence my whole villain outfit is like"
"Sexy?" well Toga had a way with words
"I was gonna say minimal or revealing. I-its like, the less clothes you have the colder you are. I mean, if you wear a summer bikini in a snowstorm you'd feel like freezing, right? Well thats the basis of it. The cold doesnt bother me just makes me better"
"And like the summer and warm weather?" she asked curiously, resting herhead and elbows on the bar counter
"The summer sucks, i hate the heat. And my ice powers are weaker thats true" although normally you compensate that with other quirks
"I'd say my quirk is roughly 25% weaker on a normal summer hot day. But if you sent me to a desert, I'd say I'd be 75% weaker. Roughly. I didnt go out of the way to find a desert"
You definitelly werent the 'fuck around and find out' type. Anywho you decided to change the subject back on her, since you kinda took her quirk now.
"What about you and your blood transformation thing?"
"Hm?" she tilts her head to the side curiously
"When you drink the blood. How long does it last?" you ask as you clear up your question
"Oh that! Well, the more I drink, the longer I can stay transformed. So like for example, 1 cup of blood allows me to transform for a total of 18 hours." she explained
"Thats a neat quirk" not really, the idea of drinking blood sounded horrid and the taste was probably like gross iron and you felt like you could puke just thinking about it.
Tho the idea of drinking Dabi's- NO no no! Wait no. Also ew, what were those thoughts. Why would I wanna do that? Why would I wanna become someone I like?
That made you wonder as you mentally dismissed the copied version of Toga's quirk. Not the one for your collection thats for sure.
"Toga, your quirk. How does that make you feel? Like do you wanna become the person you admire?" you curiously inquired as suddenly her earlier line flashed in your mind 'Toga here! Himiko Toga! Life is too hard! I just want to make it easier to live in this dumb world! I wanna be mr. Stainy! I wanna kill mr. Stainy!'
Ok, now that craziness made sense and explained why she wanted to kill and become Stain, its the quirk that did it.
You looked at Toga who happily nodded "Yup!"
"Oh… neat. Well… if Im ever considered likeable… um… I can give you?" you spoke awkwardly as you stumbled over words not knowing how to react. Perhaps you wanted to stay on the crazy persons good side so you wouldn't be shanked with a knife.
"Aww, really! Thats so sweet" she said and went for a hug "You really are a bestie!"
You are never ceased to be amazed by Toga as you awkwardly return her friendship hug
"Brr, you are a bit cold. Whoever ends up being your boyfriend will need a winter coat"
As you want to chuckle and give her a polite answer, she asks a new question "Wait, do you have a boyfriend?" ah yes, she realized the word she said so she had to check
"Um no… Im single and ready to mingle. But dont worry, Im keeping my eyes open" you didnt wanna be alone. Perhaps aside from Stains ideology thats why you joined this League, to be around people. Tho you doubted you'd find love here, but the idea of finding love was nice. Then again, you liked the dangerous types.
You and Toga would chat more and get to know each other, probing into hobbies, interests, fashion, anything really. Maybe after this you would be able to face Dabi and actually get to know him.

Toga was the only free League member to interact with, Kurogiri was not having any of it. But soon you'll get to choose to who spend free time with. After the Leagues first big move that is.
