Marcel drank water as he watched Bonnie wipe the sweat off her skin, the smell filling the air and inviting him to bite. On days like these, he could see how she entrapped Klaus in her web. She was truly divine, but he was unsure if it was just her or her magic.
Either way, he was happy for the time he got to spend with her. Bonnie is funny, charming and loves a challenge. She could also keep up with him most time during their training. Whenever he was around her he saw this light that made her appear like she was glowing.
"So, are you ready to be my date?" he asked her as she sat on his couch, slouching and exhausted. She smiled at him, and he walked towards her with water.
"Yep, got my dress just yesterday," she said. Marcel nodded he was more curious about the spell that Davina was completing and why she was not making any moves to stop it. He worried for Davina and the consequences if she completed that spell. The Mikaelsons are not someone you want to piss off and he was not sure if he could get her out of this one.
Davina was a stubborn witch, wanting to have her revenge and also detach him and Josh from Klaus Mikaelson. However, the spell made no sense if there was no way of getting rid of them. The Strix would not have pushed the spell forward if they hadn't thought of something.
Bonnie wanted him to be a leader but he was up against vampires that could easily overpower him. This ball was the initiation process after weeks of him just following them around and getting to know what the organization did.
Marcel wanted to be a part of it, to control it. He had amazing ideas of how it could run more smoothly but he also wanted to know why Ayo had no interest in running it. She did seem like a behind-the-scenes person.
"What is it, Marcel?" Bonnie queried, they usually talk before she leaves but right now, he was filled with questions unsure if he could ask them. Though she was accommodating, she was still connected to Klaus, a man who took his city back and banished him to live on the outskirts. Marcel craved power, to rule again to be a king, he was never as happy as he was when he had control over the city, the wolves and witches all listened to him.
He wanted to work again, for that level of power and Strix granted him that power. He spent a lot of time courting them, with the gifts he knew meant nothing to them.
"it's the air, it just feels so stagnant and unsure as to which way to go," he stated. Bonnie's eyebrows furrowed. She looked uncomfortable as if something was in her skin that she could not get out.
"Really, it usually feels the opposite for me, always sure as to where it wants me to go always active and never silent." Bonnie said she closed her eyes and breathed long before speaking again "On days when it's overwhelming only my family can help me."
Marcel walked to his bar and poured himself a bourbon and she walked behind him.
"at first when I came to New Orleans, I thought maybe it was Klaus, the excitement and danger of being involved with him was enough to distract me from the wind that never stopped," she said, smiling. "when I looked passed that excitement and danger, I found a man that wanted the same thing as me, ready to go the same lengths,"
Whenever she spoke of Klaus, it was almost as if the name had been wrapped in blessings, the only indication was to look at her face to know if she was happy or mad with him and most days. Her face only had smiles. He wished for it to make him uncomfortable, but Bonnie had this thing about her that put you at ease, to lay your problems before her and it would go away.
Marcel too forgot his grievances when she spoke of him, yet he was aware she was not trying to turn him on Klaus' side. A relationship with her risk to take and a risk she enjoyed and he knew that his adopted father enjoyed it too.
Bonnie deserved better but somehow the two were perfect for each other, they undoubtedly matched each other.
"Finding your people is the best thing you can do," she affirmed and he nodded in agreement think of the vampires he made, his old inner circle. She took the bottle from his hand took a glass near her and poured.
"I lost my people when the Mikaelsons came to New Orleans and I feel like I have been fighting to get it back." he said "Immortality is wasted without companionship," he said. A lesson he learnt on his own, his maker-only companion's paranoia, rage and jealousy.
"No one more than I can understand that pain, we could wish things were different or carry on with our lives and hope better friendships will find us in the future," Bonnie said wisely. He clinked her glass and drank to that idea.
"what about Davina?" Bonnie asked, looking at him her eyes filled with curiosity, he lifted his right eyebrow encouraging her to explain.
"I know you see her as a daughter but do you find companionship in her?" she asked, Marcel thought about the question before he answered.
"I got her in a very vulnerable time in her life, using her and protecting her." he said honestly "but now I just want her out of this life that New Orleans brings, as a witch becoming a part of vampire business never ends well," he said and Bonnie hummed in agreement.
"she loves you and wants to fight for you," Bonnie said.
"That's what I hate some days I wished she hated me enough to leave this city behind and find a life outside of the drama but with me, Kol and Josh here." he sighed and poured more bourbon.
"We are her only family, she depends on us to maintain her and help her grow and in return, she fights fiercely for us," he admitted, he was proud of Davina and the young woman she is but she could have been more selfish or loved another man.
"Davina only has the Mikaelsons to fear and I am seeing a trend amongst them that tells me they won't hurt out of respect for Kol." she said "Kol is destructive and impulsive but he loves the craft and is filled with so much knowledge, I can see why she was drawn to him."
Marcel nodded, upon Kol's return he learned about the small impact he had on the witch community here especially Davina's coven before she was born. Bonnie smiled at him talking about their shared experiences with Kol. Before Bonnie got silent and looked at him intensely. She let out a deep breath.
"I have an idea that needs to stay between us," she said, Marcel gave her a perplexed look but he was filled with curiosity.
"There is a reason that you have been let back into the city and allowed to make your brood, they feel guilty for something that may not come to pass," she said, her voice grave at the end.
"do we want it to come to pass?" he asked her, wanting to know what it was, she shook her head profusely.
"we can stop it by completing the Mikaelson immortality spell." Bonnie said "I have it from my last run-in with their mother." she said Marcel was unsure as to what to say.The original spell? If she did that they would kill her but be on the same power level as them.Marcel's mouth salivated at the thought of that much thought, to be unkillable and unstoppable.
"do you mean being an original?" he asked, he had never heard of something like that, was it even possible?Bonnie nodded, her eyes showing her fiery spirit.
His skin filled with goosebumps,be an original.Marcel would not have to worry about gaining respect but completing a spell like that how would it stop other vampires from doing the same?
"What is the cost of something like that?" Marcel asked her, if would she suggest something like this without weighing the cons.
"the spell is easy, Esther used me to complete it before. He was human but on you, it should be much easier" Bonnie said shrugging "We would need something rare and valuable to complete it and dark magic." she said looking at him.Of course, she knows Esther. He made a note to ask about that encounter later on.
"isn't dark magic like forbidden?" Marcel said he has seen many witches consumed by dark magic. They either ended up dead or Dowager Fauline Cottage. Dark magic runs witches mad always and causes them to be shunned by their community.
"the spirits frown upon it actually, The last time I did it I lost all connection to nature magic." Bonnie said "It was excruciating seeing nature but not feeling it not helping it along," Bonnie said her voice filled with sorrow, her eyes almost dull except for the usual fiery spirit that lays there.
"so you are going to get another witch to do the spell?" Marcel asked, she shook her head.
"I enjoyed the high of doing dark magic, all that power at your fingertips, the world's life basically beating in your hands." he watched her creepy smile as she reminisced. Marcel would feel guilty if he let Bonnie pay such a cost for power.
He watches as her face becomes blank.
"Dark magic is something that only be practised and conquered by those who know their limits plus I can't lose my magic, dying and coming back to life so many times, taught me a lot about magic, and with you, I am just course correcting something." Bonnie said giving him a reassuring smile. "so do you have something rare and powerful?"
Marcel stood for a moment thinking about an object during his days as a soldier, he had come across a book, that he found in his passing at Tumulus of Bougon. He knew it was special from his years being around the Mikaelsons but he never told anyone about it. He wondered if it was something she could use.
"Marcel." Bonnie drawled out his name, he looked at her. If he agreed to this they would be at risk, it would be something between just the two until the time is right and if she died, her blood would be on his hands. He would risk Klaus hunting him the way Mikael hunted them.
It was a risk he was willing to take, he could create a New Orleans anywhere. There were many cities filled with magic, it could never match New Orleans but he could make it his own.
"Don't you need doppelgänger blood?" Marcel asked.
"We could but one she is my ex-best friend and two unless you can get some from Klaus, I do not see that happening." Bonnie said "We could tie you to a human life but you want immortality true immortality." she emphasised.
Marcel sighed, he felt like Eve and Bonnie were the snake tempting him to take the bite but look at the consequences of that. He would be an original vampire but at what cost? He does not mind being in debt to Bonnie.
He looked at Bonnie who had a smirk on her face, like she knew she had hooked him already. Giving him an offer he could not resist. Being an original would power-scale right there with Rebekah and Elijah. He held out his hands to Bonnie for them to shake on it.
Marcel was going to be an original.
Freya's hands ran through Keelin's hair as she laid on her breasts. Their breaths are in sync despite her partner's slumber. She felt content for a long time after a while she found herself falling in love with the most gorgeous human being in the world.
With Bonnie she had found someone, who understood her struggles and belief system, suffering for those you love no matter the cost you. It was painful how similar they could be at times despite different experiences.
With Keelin, it was a completely different experience, it was romance in a way she had never witnessed or felt. Keelin was funny and intelligent and she brought out something in Freya, that she had not seen in a thousand years.
Keelin had not shared that she was a wolf but told Freya enough for her to understand, that her life has not been easy making her to be cautious. Though they had similar experiences, their belief system was entirely different. Keelin firmly believes in science and self-preservation, something Freya has never learned.
Keelin stirred on her, letting out incoherent speech. She watched as her girlfriend's eyes flatter open but she had to stop her admiration to answer her phone. Keelin pushed herself off of Freya and got off the bed and looked for her pants that held her cell, she saw the caller ID and it was her brother Niklaus.
She groaned knowing her little brother was calling to annoy her.
"Hello Nik," she answered, she watched as Keelin climbed out of bed and to her bathroom to prepare for her shift in an hour.
"Have you forgotten that you have a home?" he asked her, by the tone of his voice she knew he wanted something from her.
"I will be home in two hours," Freya said, with Keelin off to work and she was giving Bonnie space to spend time with her family. Her evening was mostly empty, she could give her brother a few minutes of her time and then pass by Hayley to see Hope.
"with your lovely lady?" he asked her teasingly, she rolled her eyes and hung up the phone. Bonnie is the only person who has met Keelin, she would introduce her to her siblings when she tells Keelin she is a witch. For now, she would enjoy her and ease her into the idea of the supernatural world she ran from.
Freya went into the bathroom after Keelin who was fixing her hair, she kissed her shoulders and laid her chin on it watching her through the mirror, her front on Keelin's back, the smell of them earlier still on their flesh.
"I know that sneaky smile." Keelin said in a scolding tone "I have my shift soon and I can't be late." Freya sighed and kissed the part of Keelin's neck that always guaranteed to make her burst into fits of giggles, allowing her to have one last feel of her body against hers before they parted for the day.
Keelin turned around and showered Freya's face in kisses, her hands wrapped instinctively around her, one on her ass and the other shoulder. She pulled Keelin for a real kiss, their naked curves becoming one fitting each other perfectly. Leaving them both breathless and wanting more, Keelin's nipples brushed just below her breast, tempting Freya but Keelin wiggled out of Freya's grasp and jumped into the shower.
Freya let out a laugh that rang through the room, it frightened her a bit that she was laughing like that over nothing really. She looked at herself in the mirror and used water from the sink to wash her face and hands. She then smoothed out her sex hair.
Freya looked for her clothes, deciding to shower when she got home because her hair needed to be washed.
"There is a toothbrush under the sink," Keelin said coming out of the bathroom in a red towel and a shower cap on. Freya nodded.
"it's okay I am going home and shower," Freya said pulling her top over her head, when she saw Keelin's face, she was frowning.
"is there something wrong?" Keelin asked, she sounded scared, not concerned. Freya shook her head went up to her and touched her shoulders.
"no just one of my stupid brothers, they need me for something," Freya said assuring, she saw Keelin's shoulder drop in relief and she moved to her closet to take out her scrubs and place them into her bag.
"When will I meet your family?" Keelin asked, Freya sighed.
"my family can be a bit." Freya started looking for a word that wouldn't send Keelin running for the hills.
"homophobic." Keelin interrupted. Freya laughed, maybe that would have been easier.
"overbearing, I wasn't in their lives for most of their lives and during that time," Freya said "They picked a lot of fights, so before you meet them, I just want to like ease you into the idea," she said, she watched as Keelin put on her shirt.
"They can't be that bad." Keelin said, "I can tell you love them a lot, so I don't find myself with the rest of the collective." Freya resisted the urge to snort.
They both continue to dress, sneaking glances at each other and giving each other smiles as they catch the other. Freya wished for more moments like this with Keelin. She fears that her family's connection to the supernatural world may scare her away.
Keelin came up to her once again and kissed her. It was simple ending a few pecks before they parted ways. Keelin lived a twenty-minute walk away from her hospital, a walk she usually accompanied her on when she could but Freya was going in the opposite direction in a car.
Keelin walked her to the car and they waved goodbye.
"I'll miss you," Freya said silently to herself as she watched Keelin disappear before getting into her car and driving onto the highway to her home.
A mixture of happiness and sadness filled her heart when she reached her compound. Before she ascended the stairs of the garage, Niklaus was in front of her. Turned up his nose.
"you know I could find her with just this scent." he said, "Bonnie told me to back off but it's been almost a month and you have yet to introduce us to your girlfriend," Niklaus said, Freya rolled her eyes and walked passed her brother.
"every man you have been with walked through the compound but your girlfriend poof." he continued. "Are you embarrassed of us?" he asked her,
"very," Freya answered, he just chuckled and touched her shoulder.
"is that any way to cherish your long-lost siblings?" he asked her faking sadness. She sighed and listened to him talk himself basically.
"what are you and Elijah planning?" Freya asked when she reached her door. Niklaus stopped talking and looked at her, with a devious smile. She was not clueless, the two of them tended to leave Rebekah out of things cause she was the little sister.
She was their eldest sister and did not intend to be left out of the equation.
"vampire business." Niklaus simply answered turning to leave. Freya stopped him.
"vampires exist because of the Mikaelson bloodline, so I want to know, if it endangers Hope or even you guys I have a right to know," Freya said, he turned around.
"Sister, if our lives are at stake you will be the first to know." he kissed her on the cheek and left "I am in the kitchen, Hope is coming over," he said as he left.
Freya just watched her brother walk away, she would let him think. She had let it go but the minute he and Elijah were together, they would be in for a reckoning, she knew all too well how their plans could fall apart because of their emotions.
As long she is here there would be no boy's club.
