From Guest (A.K.A me): recc in a guest account cuz of reasons here... i had no idea my writing was THIS stiff bruh…
From me: true! :D
From c1pratikchakraborty911: Your writing is good. I enjoyed the chapter. Arven was a idiot to give away a legendary Pokemon but your chapter style is strange. It's like playing a game. I didn't like that. Anyways thanks for the chapter.
From me: Thanks!
Koraidon/Miraidon technically aren't legendaries but I guess your point still stands (also Arven doesn't even want them)
I do that because it adds a bit more of charm to the chapters (actually just because Subspace Emissary's Worlds Conquest does it, and yk it's what inspired me to start writing fanfics lmao), and the listed music is… well, for you to search it up on Youtube and listen to while you read the fic, duh
Changelog:
I made the in-game Paldea be an island located in the center of the region (surrounded by the "Great Sea of Paldea") instead of actually just being the entire region because an idea I had would involve making all the other regions way smaller. This is mentioned at the lighthouse scene but not elaborated any further upon (I forgot to finish this sentence, my bad)
I'M PLAYING SCARLET! (iT RUNS AT LESS THAN 10 FPS BUT IT STILL RUNS! (update: i got hardlocked at the cafeteria noooo)
i am also now a bayonetta fan
(by the way, sorry for the shorterchapter, I figured that making a single chapter for the three days that were timelapsed at the start would be much longer than the stuff I had already made (this), so I decided to split this into its own chapter because I didn't feel like making you all wait even more)

Chapter 3: Tutorial for Dummies
-Pokémon World-
Naranja Academy
2F Hallways
Now Playing:
Jujutsu Kaisen - Our Mission
After quite a bit of his social awkwardness blue-balling him, Akira finally decides to go back to the academy and look for Nemona to ask for some Pokéballs. He figured Nemona would be way easier to talk to in a situation like this compared to others, she definitely isn't most likely taking a break right now, and she's the most likely to have a shit ton of spare Poké Balls.
And thus, he went around by himself in the hallways—dying of embarrassment because he was hogging all the attention—and eventually finding Nemona on the second floor.
"Uh… Nemona?" He calls out to her, feeling a bit nervous.
She turns around to look at him, surprised that he's here again. "Oh, you're back?"
"...I need Pokéballs." Akira replies bluntly.
"Well, you came to the right person!" Nemona says as she… pulls out some Poké Balls from her bag, excited for Akira to start his journey and also impatient to know when they'd get to battle.
He stares at the multiple Pokéballs she's presenting to him. "I uh… don't have a bag to carry all that in… remember?"
"Oh, sorry! I forgot." She puts some back in her bag, but Akira continues before she can finish.
"M-Maybe you could help me catch my first Pokémon if you have time…? Koraidon can't battle, after all…" He proposes, his nervousness coming back to him a bit. "I think I'll need way more than five considering that… and also that I might need some help figuring out my aim at throwing things…"
Nemona's eyes light up at his idea. "Sure, I'd love to!"
"We should hurry up then, I don't think I'd like interrupting someone's studies…"
"Nah, don't worry about that!" She makes him shake the thought off… with a shake of her hand. "Let's go now!" She heads off, excited to help her friend out with becoming a Pokémon Trainer.
("...Now that I think about it… yeah, she doesn't seem like the "studious" type… or even the "studying" type at all…") Akira thought with a sigh, following her.
South Province (Area One)
After telling Nemona where he wanted to go, Akira and she arrive back near Los Platos.
"Okay, now that we're here, try finding a Pokémon you want to catch!" Nemona gestures around.
"...Hoppip's a grass type, right?" Akira asks right after.
"Yeah, a Grass/Flying type." She answers, looking back at Akira, who was already looking at the mentioned Pokémon. "Oh, so you want a Hoppip to be the first Pokémon you catch?"
"...I guess?" He shrugs. "I might as well get one of the three starter types while I'm at it. Fits the theme, after all."
"I agree. There aren't all that many fire types down here compared to water types, so good choice!" Nemona encourages, before remembering that she's the one who has the Pokéballs. "Oh, yeah… have this!" She offers Akira a Poké Ball.
"...I'm not so confident about this." He mutters as takes the Pokéball, looking at the still-oblivious Hoppip. "I haven't had to throw anything in a long while, so…"
"Don't worry about it! I'm here to help with that, after all! Just focus, and boom! You've got yourself your first catch!"
"...Yeah, thanks." Akira nods, preparing himself to throw the Pokéball. "...Why am I even making such a fuss about this? It's just a-" He asks himself as he throws it at the Hoppip… and fails miserably by throwing it too softly, not even close. "-Hop… pip." He groans in irritation as the Pokémon flies away. "...Well, crap. Guess I know why."
Nemona puts a hand to her cheek as she looks at Akira's disappointed expression. "It's your first time, you can always try again!"
"I know, but like god damn, that was weaker than a…" He pauses, trying to figure out what he'd even compare it to. "...Mejor no digo nada…" He mutters under his breath with a frown.
"Yeah, you're gonna have to work on that too, but it's nothing you can't learn from." She continues, getting a sigh from the guy as she then goes right on the path. "Well, let's go search for another Hoppip. Shouldn't be too hard to do!"
"...Oh yeah, what's the first Gym's type?" He asks as he hurries up to follow her.
Nemona's eyes widen at his question. "Oh, so you are interested in the Gyms!" She definitely seems way more excited than before, but she remembers to actually answer. "It's at Cortondo, which is east of here, and it's a Bug-type gym!"
"Bug-type, huh? Then maybe I should get a Fletchling too… could call it Flay, or something."
"Well, if you want a Fire-type, then you should. The second gym is Grass-type, after all!" Nemona points out.
"Okay, so first I get a Hoppip, then a Fletchling, then… what else?" He trails off into thought, trying to remember a Pokémon he's seen that he'd like to have.
"Look, another Hoppip!" She points in the direction of one, which is just waddling around. "Here!" She gives Akira a Poké Ball.
And he almost immediately throws it at the Pokémon.
"Whoa! You don't have that much of a hurry, now do you?" She asks, a bit surprised at his sudden speed.
"Hey, at least it actually landed." He shrugs as it starts to shake. "...And… technically, yes. I'm not very patient, to say the least."

Aww! Hoppip broke free!
"...Nevermind." Akira just watches the Hoppip fly away for the second time in a row.
"See? You should try focusing like I said, and then you throw the Pokéball at the right moment!"
"...Guess I'll try that with a Fletchling, then…"
"Talking about Fletchling, there's a couple over there." She gets his attention, and they both look at a flock of the species nearby. "You wanna try catching one?" She asks, juggling a Poké Ball in her hand.
"Of course…" Akira answers, catching the Pokéball when she throws it into his hand and approaches a Fletchling that's a bit separated from the rest.
"You got this!" Nemona whispers encouragingly.
"You don't have to encourage me…" He replies.
"Oh, my bad…" She chuckles as he throws the Poké Ball.
The Pokéball successfully lands on top of the Fletchling, which scares the rest of the flock away. "Please…" He begs as he approaches it.

Gotcha! Fletchling was caught!
"...Okay, I wasn't expecting this to be over so quickly, but I'm definitely not complaining." He picks up the Pokéball and looks back at Nemona.
"That's how you do it! You caught your first Pokémon!" She cheers, throwing her hands up in the air, followed by an awkward silence before she crosses her arms. "...I think you still need a bit of help, though. I'm not just gonna leave you with a single 'mon, after all!"
"Oh, uh… I agree… thanks." Akira's grateful that Nemona realized that by herself, because… he completely forgot.
"So, now we look for a Hoppip, right?" She looks around for one, continuing to head down the path.
"...You know what, all this thinking about what Pokémon to use is genuinely hurting my brain now." He admits, scratching his head with a finger.
"Oh, trust me, it's not that complicated once you get the hang of it!" She reassures him with a smile.
"...And when is that gonna be…?" Akira asks in response, following with a sigh. ("God, I'm too lazy for this shit, ain't I…")
"...It depends, I guess?" Nemona answers with a shrug, seeming confused as well.
"I… Okay." He was about to say something about that, but he figured out that he'd end up looking like a hypocrite.
"Looks like there's a Hoppip over there!" She quickly changes the topic, walking over to the wild Hoppip she spotted. "You don't mind having your first battle with it, right?"
"Uh… sure?"
"I'll be here on the sidelines to support you then!" She encourages, stepping aside to let him approach the Pokémon.
He slowly walks over to the Hoppip, looking down at the Poké Ball he had just caught the Fletchling in. "...I just hope this guy isn't underleveled." He muttered to himself before simply sucking it up and throwing the Pokéball in front of the Hoppip to start.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet - Battle! (Southern Pokémon)
The Fletchling appears on the ground with a chirp, tilting its head at the sight of the Hoppip. It turns around to look up at Akira, who doesn't know what to say in response. "Uh- Flay, please just… u-use Peck, or something."
It understands the order and turns back to the Hoppip, lunging at the opposing Pokémon to peck at it. It successfully lands on its head and starts to attack it repeatedly, but it's quickly shaken away.
He watches as his Pokémon lands back in front of him, sighing at the sight. ("Don't tell me this guy's underleveled…") He looked back over to the Hoppip, noticing that it was getting ready to attack. "...D-Dodge and keep pecking!"
"Tell it to be extra careful too, it's way weaker than your opponent!" Nemona warns them.
"O-Oh, yeah! What she said, don't lower your guard!" He orders… hesitatingly, due to not really seeing the point in repeating what she already said.
Flay dodges Hoppip's attempt at tackling it, propelling itself right into another peck.
"Yeah, just like that!" He cheers his Pokémon on, albeit well-aware that it's barely even doing any damage. ("...Yup.") His expression turns a bit unsure as it pecks at its opponent again.
But Flay has been losing a lot of speed, going from pecking right after dodging to barely being able to do the latter, and they can clearly tell. ("I don't think it can last longer than this… I-I should still be patient, it's a bit early to be attempting a catch…")
But as he thought that, the Fletchling got hit by a powerful tackle from the Hoppip, and although the contact burned the opponent a bit, the little bird was sent rolling backwards on the ground from the impact.
Akira's eyes widened at the turn of events, not expecting something like that in his first battle of all things. ("Wait- Goddamn! Did it just land a fucking crit?! This thing needs to chill!") He thought almost in shock, but he turned his head over to Nemona. "Okay, now I need a Poké Ball, there's no way it can keep fighting like that…"
"Roger that!" Nemona nodded, reaching into her back to then throw one to Akira, who instantly threw it at the Hoppip.
The Pokéball landed right on top of the opposing Pokémon, sucking it in.
"C'mere!" He gestured to Flay for it to come closer to him for a break as the ball shook, even if it lasted less than a second.

Gotcha! Hoppip was caught!
(0:19 mark) Pokémon Scarlet and Violet - South Province (Walking)
"Oh, thank god…" Akira breathed a sigh of relief as the Pokémon was successfully captured.
"Great job! You caught it!" Nemona congratulates him.
He went over to grab the Poké Ball, looking at her as he did. "Yeah, barely…" He replied with a shake of his head. "That was way more intense than I thought it would be…"
"That's the charm of Pokémon Battles, you know?" She answers his expectations. "Anything can happen to the point where they get your blood pumping like crazy!"
"...I-In that case, then I don't think I wanna know what a Gym battle would feel like…" It seems he's having a bit of a hard time adapting to all of this… to which Nemona chuckles.
"Let's get your Pokémon healed up, okay?" She proposed, already heading back to the Pokémon Center, with him following behind, but not before sending the mentioned Pokémon back into its Pokéball, of course.
Mesagoza Pokémon Center (South)
After Akira gives his two Poké Balls to the nurse, Nemona decides to ask him something.
"Hey, Akira…"
"Yeah?"
"Do you mind if I buy you a bag next?"
He was a bit surprised at her question, but he nodded as a familiar jingle played. "Oh, yeah sure."
"Well… now that we've finished with that, let's get you that bag!" She turned around to head back to Mesagoza as he withdrew his team, following her again right after.
Mesagoza
Delibird Presents
Persona 3 Reload - Joy
Nemona took a right turn once they were back in Mesagoza, and they entered a store right on the corner.
"Welcome to Delibird Presents! We've got great gifts galore, what'll it be?" The employee greets the two. "Oh, I'm delighted to see you in our store, Nemona!"
"Do you guys have any bags on sale for my friend here? He's just starting out his Pokémon journey, and he really needs one."
"Yes, we do have those kinds of bags. Lots, in fact!" She nods, leading the way to that specific section. "The only changes they have are all cosmetic, though."
Akira looks around the selection of bags the store has, most of them being color changes, but the ones that caught his attention are the ones that have a specific theme. "Nemama… can I get da Charizard backpack…" He jokingly asks in an acute, child-like tone.
Nemona was taken aback by his sudden change in demeanor, but she burst out in laughter. "I-I'm sorry... could you please say that again…?" She asked as she tried to catch her breath from laughing so hard.
"...No." He shakes his head, his smile remaining intact in a somewhat creepy way.
She let out a sigh once she finally got herself back together. "Oh god, that came so out of nowhere that I couldn't help but laugh… my bad!" She apologized with a chuckle.
"I love being silly."
"Fair enough!" She looks back at the employee. "So… how much does it cost?" Nemona asks her.
"It should cost… around 9,000 Pokédollars."
"Fine with me!" She grabs the bag and goes to the cash register.
Now outside the store, she takes out at least a bit more than 10 Pokéballs (he didn't get to count them all) and places them inside the backpack she had just bought for him. "There you go!"
They were about to part ways right after, when an idea came to her. "Hey, I should get you a Rotom Phone too!"
"Wait, huh?" He's a bit taken aback by the sudden suggestion.
"They're a bit too expensive, though…" She put a hand to her chin in thought.
"Then wh-" He got interrupted as another idea popped up in her head.
"Oh, I could give you one of my older Rotom Phones! They're a bit outdated, but not by much! I've never actually used it that much before, it still has the Pokédex, but I'm pretty sure it's empty otherwise."
"Uh… okay?"
"Well, let's get going to my house then!" She exclaimed, and like thrice before, started heading there without another word.
"I-I… never mind…"
Cabo Poco
Nemona's Home - Front Yard
"Okay, here we are!" Nemona announces, gesturing to her rather big home compared to Juliana's just across the road.
"...I'm not sure I really wanna go into your house just like that, so I'll be staying here."
"That's fine with me. You don't need to come in." She reassures, heading into the building. "Well, I'll start looking for it now, you better be patient!"
Akira sighed once she closed the door. "I sure will…" He muttered under his breath, deciding to sit down on the steps.
While he waited, he just stared off into the distance, reminiscing about… things.
After a bit, he suddenly remembered something. "Wait… how could I forget about him…?" He asked himself, pulling out a Poké Ball and activating it."
"Agias!" Koraidon comes out of the ball, happy that Akira let him out.
"...Hi." He waves at him with a forced smile that he sees right through.
"Gia…?" He tilts his head, wondering what his Trainer's so worried about as he gets closer to him.
"I-It's nothing, don't worry about it."
"Agias…" He nuzzles Akora on the nose and puts a forepaw on his leg as he purrs, trying to comfort him.
Akira flashes a slight smile for a second. "D-Don't get so close to me, you might…" He trails off nervously, definitely not wanting to elaborate
Koraidon is a bit taken aback by this, reluctantly complying with his order.
"...I guess I don't mind the nuzzles, though." He mutters under his breath, his cheeks flushing a faint pink.
"Agias! He cries out happily, but makes no move to continue.
He then throws his arms up in the air. "Y'know what, screw it, let's cuddle later or something."
"Agiagias!" He seems very excited about that.
Right after, the door swings open and out comes Nemona with the Rotom Phone she was talking about. "Okay, here it is, all ready for you to use!" She handed the phone to Akira, noticing the Pokémon in front of him as she does. "Oh, hey Koraidon! …Felt pretty lonely out here didn't you?" She said the latter to the boy.
"...Kinda?" He shrugs, turning on the device, which shows six icons, Pokédex, Boxes, Camera, Picnic, Poké Portal, Settings and a folder called… "PoNét" on a red background… which reminded him of something. ("Wait a minute… isn't this the Sword and Shield menu…?") He thought as he checked around, and was indeed surprised to see that he was right.
"So, what do you think?"
"...I'm a bit conflicted, but it's cool nonetheless." He answers as he gets up. "...I'm not really used to getting stuff gifted to me, though, so this feels a bit awkward."
"Well, I'm glad you like it!" She nods, reaching out for her bag. "I need to give you one more thing, though!" She pulls out a unique-looking black Pokéball, offering it to Akira. "This is the Tera Orb, what you use to Terastallize your Pokémon!"
"Oh…?" Akira takes the Tera Orb, inspecting it. "Woah, I definitely like this one…"
"Yeah, it looks pretty cool with the crystal inside, doesn't it?"
"...Just seeing it for the first time, but damn, it might as well be my favorite Pokéball design from the ones I've seen." He looks back up to Nemona. "...Do you mind explaining what Terastallization is, though?" He asks, having heard the name but not exactly what it's supposed to do.
"Well, first of all, Pokémon turn into their Tera Type, which can basically be any type, but usually it's just one that they already have. They get a silly-looking hat made out of crystals whenever they Terastallize, and they get more powerful along with the attacks of their Tera Type and also keep the Same Type Attack Boost of whatever other types they previously had! Doesn't that sound so cool?!" She explains rather quickly, her eyes lighting up more with each word.
Luckily, he somehow got every word of that. "...Okay…"
Meanwhile, Koraidon only tilted his head at the explanation.
"You should try it out later, but here's a warning though, the Tera Orb puts a lot of force when it's used, so get ready in case you get blown away! …I do have a bit of trouble with that myself, after all…" Nemona mutters the last part, prior to a chuckle. "You always should get some space if you want to Terastallize."
"Oh… got that." He nods, putting the Tera Orb into his backpack.
"Okay, so that should be everything… You don't need anything else, right?" She asks, just in case.
"...I think… your number, if I ever need to call you?"
"Yeah, I almost forgot!" She nods, her Rotom Phone coming out of her pocket.
Akira just stares at Nemona's phone before looking down at his, wondering how that's supposed to work. "Uh…" He extends his arm a bit towards the other Rotom Phone, when it suddenly flies out of his hand to exchange both their numbers… but they both let out a small jingle, going back to their respective places. "...Wait, did it not work?"
"Oh, yeah… it should still have my phone number or none at all… You should try getting your own online!"
("...How did I not think of that?") He simply nods, his expression turning a bit unamused at the idea. "...And how do I do that?"
"Okay, so go to the folder named "PoNét" on your Rotom Phone, and then open PoNét Apps…"
Some minutes later…
"That… should be it, right?" Akira asks, still staring at the phone's screen
"Yup! Now we can actually exchange numbers!" Nemona nods, starting the offer all over again as her Rotom Phone leaps out of her pocket again.
He hesitantly lets his own in front of hers, still not used to the fact that they can float, completely forgetting that they're Rotom Phones while he's at it.
After a second, the devices go back to their respective places again, but this time after the process was successfully completed.
"Now that that's finally done… Let's have a battle!" She proposed, sounding very excited for it like always.
"...I completely forgot about that idea, but sure, why not." Akira shrugs. "It'll be a bit of training for actual battles against others, even if you go really easy on me."
"Well, if you don't want me to go easy on you, then you should do the Gyms right after this! Trust me, it'll be lots of fun!"
"...I-I don't… know about that?" He scratches the back of his head in slight confusion.
"Aw, don't be like that! You don't actually need to hurry, I was just joking!" She reassures him with a chuckle. "You can take your time, but don't keep me waiting too much, of course."
"...I was talking about how hard it's gonna be… I don't know much about Pokémon battles, remember?" He clarifies. "...I'm not exactly good at memorizing stuff either… so I might as well get to the Champion with almost no knowledge of the type chart…"
"Huh…" Nemona puts a hand to her chin at what he said. "You can display the type chart on your Rotom Phone while you're battling, but that could still be a bit of a problem…"
"...Eh, what can I do?" Akira shrugs. "Let's just go battle."
"Follow me, then!" She turns around to head over to the beach, with him following behind.
Nemona's Backyard/Beach
Now down at the beach, they both get on the arena at their respective sides.
"So, you ready to battle, Akira?" Nemona asks as she gets ready.
"Yup." He pulls out a Poké Ball, slightly juggling it in his hand.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet - Battle! (Nemona)
"Alrighty then! Here goes your first Trainer battle!" She throws her own Poké Ball, from which comes out her Quaxly.
Akira does the same, letting out Hoppip to battle.
"Agia!" Koraidon cheers for his Trainer, making him smile.
"Oh wow, it's almost like you knew I'd lead with a Quaxly! Nice job!" Nemona points out. "But still, don't get your hopes up! Quaxly, use Pound!"
("I-... Yeah, surely not, right?") He thought to himself in a sarcastic tone.
Quaxly sprints towards Hoppip, aiming to hit it right on the face, but the other Pokémon flies up to dodge.
"Use Tail Whip!" Akira orders his Pokémon, who mocks its opponent by wagging its "tail" (bottom).
"Quack!" Quaxly… well, quacks, the taunt taking a slight effect in it getting offended.
"Don't let yourself get distracted! Try jumping up there and use Pound again!" Nemona snaps her Pokémon out of it, who complies and jumps up as high as it can, landing a clean punch on the Hoppip.
"Hop!" Hoppip then uses Absorb upon its Trainer's order, pulling out multiple green orbs from Quaxly, which fully recovers the damage it took while dealing more to the other in exchange.
"Keep using Pound!" Quaxly uses the same move for the third time in a row at Nemona's order, but Hoppip dodges the attack again, followed by another Absorb.
"Quaxly!" Quaxly shouts at its opponent, getting slightly annoyed as it tries to land a punch again, with this proving unsuccessful.
While dodging the opposing Pokémon's move, Hoppip Absorbs yet again (you get the point), starting to irritate it more.
"Use Water Gun to distract it!" Immediately upon hearing this, the Pokémon uses the move, barely doing any damage as expected, but it covers its opponent's vision enough to prove useful to land another Pound, even letting Quaxly use Work Up while Hoppip was still processing the move.
"That sucks… gotta pray I beat it here…" Akira mutters under his breath as Hoppip uses yet another Absorb…
And his "prayers" were answered, with the attack luckily finishing off Quaxly.
"Oh, thank god…" He lets out a sigh of relief.
"Good job!" Nemona cheers as she sends Quaxly back into its Pokéball, but her expression immediately changes back to a firm one. "But now comes the hard part!" She sends out another Poké Ball which reveals Pawmi.
Akira's brow furrows at the sight of the basically unfamiliar Pokémon, but he of course recognizes the huge disadvantage he has. ("...I'm so dead.") He sighs, staying silent for a bit before speaking up. "Uhm… do you mind if I Terastallize?" He asks nervously, not sure if that was a good thing to say.
She nods, chuckling at the fact that he asked in the first place. "Of course! But I'll Terastallize too, so get ready!"
"...Sure, but I might as well call it quits if its Tera Type is Flying." He frowns at the thought.
"Fair enough, now let's go!"
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet - Battle! (Tera Raid Battle)
They both whip out their Tera Orbs, activating them at the same time.
Akira is surprised by the harsh breeze… which definitely gives him bad flashbacks. "...I think I just hate wind now." He semi-jokes as he struggles to keep the special Pokéball in place.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the platform, Nemona is also somewhat struggling with the force being applied onto her. "Yeah, I guess that's what happens…"
They both throw their Tera Orbs at their respective Pokémon, which causes giant crystals to momentarily appear and completely engulf the relatively small creatures.
His eyes widened at this, not expecting it to be so oddly intimidating up close. "H-Holy fuck!"
"Hey! Language!" She also semi-jokes as the crystals break apart rather quickly, revealing their Pokémon covered in different colors of a crystal texture. Hoppip gains a green jewel on its head that resembles multiple flowers, with the biggest one being a sunflower at the center. Pawmi, in the other hand, gains a yellow jewel in the shape of a lightbulb.
"O-Okay, uh… I don't think I was prepared for that." He mutters, still a bit stunned by what just happened. "A-Anyways, use Absorb!"
"Thunder Shock!" Nemona orders rather quickly, with Pawmi's attack managing to hit before Hoppip's, but it still doesn't stop it. Right after, it sends another bolt to Hoppip's way, managing to paralyze it this time.
("...Okay, yeah… I'm dead.") He admits as his Pokémon struggles with trying to break out of its paralysis, even if momentarily.
"Okay, let's finish this!" She shouts, with Pawmi tackling Hoppip down and effectively defeating it.
Akira sighs, sending Hoppip back to its ball. "Might as well stop now. Sending out Flay would just be animal cruelty at this point… or would it be Pokémon cruelty…?" He mutters the last part in confusion.
(0:19 mark) Pokémon Scarlet and Violet - South Province (Walking)
"...Okay?" She seems a bit disappointed, but still nods as she does the same. "You did a great job, though!"
"No, absolutely not." Akira shook his head with a wince. "I was just spamming the same move over and over again and lost, you should never call that a good job, even if you're trying to be nice…"
"Don't be so hard on yourself, it's what you could do, after all!"
"Still… But your Pokémon probably had more levels than mine, anyways."
"..Levels?"
Akira's eyes widened upon realizing his tongue slipped. "...More experience,d I mean." He quickly tries to correct himself, not wanting to raise any more eyebrows, even with Nemona. "Bit of a weird way to say it, I know."
"Oh, okay then!" Luckily for him, that convinced her. "But… Do you need anything else?"
"...Well, it's not related to Pokémon battles, but… what's the land surrounding this place?" He asks as he looks over to the horizon, where the place he's referring to is.
"That's the rest of the Region! The Paldea you're standing on here is just the capital, surrounded by the Great Sea of Paldea!"
Akira scratches the back of his head at the explanation. "Uh… it's not much of a sea, now is it…?"
"Yeah, I guess?" Nemona chuckles at his comment. "And I almost forgot, but you can only use Terastallization once, and you'll need to go to a Pokémon Center to be able to use it again."
"...I think that's all I need to know for now." He shrugs, a hint of doubt in his voice, but she doesn't think much about it.
"Okay then, I'm glad I could help you start out!" Nemona then starts walking away in a bit of a hurry… for whatever reason, but looks back to Akira. "I'll be going now, you can always call me when you need something, so good luck!" She waves goodbye.
Akira waves back while Nemona goes back up, now left alone with Koraidon.
After having (somehow) stayed mostly silent for most of that whole interaction and the battle, Koraidon approaches Akira with a smile. "Agias!" Koraidon barks, excited for what they're gonna do now.
"..." Akira stares at the lizard, before giving him a kiss on the forehead. "My littel babeh." He says in a jokingly derpy tone.
"Gia, gia!" Koraidon cries out, starting to rub his body on Akira, clearly liking the affection he was just given and wanting to give some back.
"I love you so much, you silly goober…" He hugs him with a smile.
Koraidon purrs happily as he hugs him back on two feet, the sound rumbling across both of their bodies, something that takes the teen by surprise.
But even so, he only chuckles. "Would be better if your "brother" was here…" He mutters under his breath.
Koraidon blinks at his comment, confused as to who he could be referring to as his "brother"... until bad memories cross his mind. "G-Gia…" He hugs Akira tighter. Remembering whatever that was definitely scared him.
"O-Oh, my bad… Did I say something?" Akira asks, concerned about Koraidon's sudden change in demeanor.
Koraidon looks down at him from his towering frame, but he shakes his head, not wanting to make him worry.
"...Well, if you don't want to talk about it, then that's fine." He nods, not wanting to make him uncomfortable either. "But, uh… I think we should go, we're doing all this right in someone's backyard."
Koraidon nods, going back on all fours as they break the hug.
"...So first, I'll get a full team, and then I'll try out battling with other trainers and… get some money, apparently." But instead of going back up, Akira stopped to look around the beach, noticing a couple of Wingulls just chilling in the corner. "Ah, yes… John Michael Wingull." He chuckles at his own (not really) joke, approaching the wild Pokémon.
Once close enough to not be noticed, he throws Flay's Pokéball at one of the two, alerting it into a battle as the other flies away.
"Alright, Flay! Peck it until it's weakened enough for me to catch!" He orders, with his Pokémon quickly complying and diving onto the other bird, and in response, the wild Wingull uses Water Gun. "...Lucky you're not a Fire-type right now, I guess…"
"Agia!" Koraidon cheers again as he goes over to his side.
"I am resisting the urge to treat you like a plushie right now." Akira says in an oddly dry tone, making Koraidon feel a bit embarrassed as Flay attacks again, being his cue to try catching the Wingull.

Gotcha! Wingull was caught!
"Yay." He throws his hands up in the air once the catch is proven to be successful.
Flay turns around and chirps happily. "Fletch!"
"Agias!" And Koraidon cries out, finishing their little celebration.
After this, Akira's Rotom Phone comes out of his pocket, displaying the Pokédex information of the Wingull he just caught.
"Oh, cool… Did it register me with the phone number I just got, or something?" He asks himself as text pops up. It reads: 'Would you like to give Wingull a nickname?', with yes and no as options. "And it's a girl, which immediately makes this way funnier than it should've been."
He of course chooses yes, and types the name 'John Michael', before 'John Michael has been added to your party' appears. After, a short animation of a book with Wingull on the cover plays, with 'A new Pokémon has been registered!' at the top.
"Oh… so this is the new Pokédex? …Also, goddamn." Akira mutters, surprised that Wingull's number 132 in this National Dex, while Hoppip and Fletchling are right next to each other while counting evolutionary lines. "Pretty cool, though." The Rotom Phone goes back into his pocket once he closes the Pokédex.
He then sends Flay back into its Pokéball, picking up John Michael's and turning around to face Koraidon. "After I'm done with getting my team, we shall do the silly."
"...?" Koraidon tilts his head in confusion, wondering what "the silly" means.
"Anyways, uh… let's go now." Akira goes towards the stairs back up, with Koraidon following him.
To be continued…
"This is Akira."
"And this is Nemona!"
"I feel like I'm a Team Sky grunt or something… only catching Flying types this whole chapter…"
"Don't worry about that! …Also, Team Sky?"
"Nothing…"
"Well, okay… The name sounds a bit familiar, though…" She mutters the last part.
"...I still have to deal with the fact that I'm homeless and broke, though..." He sighs.
"Huh, I completey forgot about that."
"...Seriously?"
"My bad, I guess I got too distracted by everything else."
"And I guess I can't expect anything else from you…" He shrugs. "Anyways, the next chapter's "Intermission for… Something." Wonder what that something is." He said sarcastically.
"A home?"
Silence…
"...Yes, Nemona."

Woo! This chapter is finally done! I really fucking hate procrastination!
ok so first off, my dad's computer just died on me while I was replaying Bayonetta 1 last weekend and now he has to use mine (which refused to even turn on properly for me but was somewhat fine for my dad) and I had to finish this on a somewhat shitty laptop…
anyways uhhh it's time I go finish Xenoblade Chronicles like my brother did like 4 and a half years ago so I guess I'm doing that
also, imo I'm still bad at writing fights and stuff but at least I'm slightly better at it now (trying to find out how a Pokémon move would actually work is definitely one of my things of all time)
Extras:
PoNét, what's supposed to be the Pokémon equivalent of Google is a combination of the word "pocket" (bcuz yknow, Pocket Monsters) and net :D
Akira saying "John Michael Wingull" is a reference to an episode of the first season of the John Michael Cup, a competition between Pokémon Youtubers MandJTV and PM7 (I couldn't resist making it, I even named the Wingull I caught in Scarlet "John Michael")
"To quote directly from the episode, "My first two names are John Michael- Wingull!" Akira says, throwing his arms up in the air.
…And the author does the same.
"Yay!" They both say in unison.
"They just love sharing one brain cell, don't they?" Juliana sighs with a smile.
"More like all of them." Arven corrects.
"Yay!" Nemona joins in.
"Agias!" Koraidon does too.
"...Okay, I think that's a bit too much." Penny shakes her head.
"Agreed." Juliana nods.
Arven looks over to Penny in confusion. "...Who're you?"
Juliana turns around as well, realizing that it IS a bit strange that she's here. "Wait, the Eevee bag girl?"
"Yup, that's me." She answers.
"Wait, you know her?" Arven asks, raising an eyebrow at the other student. "Since when?"
Okay, I think that's enough of this for now. Anywho, thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great day!
