Hi everyone! Here is the next chapter!
This will say what happened with the Legendary and Shay
Hope you enjoy
Read and relax
Ace moved and looked at the papers on the desk he was at, not being any closer to finding Shay or Chiaroscuro the last week. He didn't get why Shay would take it, Shay had always seemed like a very good hearted man, who did the right thing to help and save those who deserved it, so this made no sense. Daisuke had said what happened, how the alarm he had in his room for the safe went off and when he left to go check on it, thinking it might be a mistake or something small, was when he had seen Shay on his way out the window with Chiaroscuro in his hands, giving a shocked look to be caught red handed, before he fled. Daisuke had done all he could right then, which was to run after and sound the alarm and send everyone after him to get the fruit, as Chiaroscuro couldn't get into the wrong hands, or else it would mean something horrible, as a Legendarie held so much power and strength.
When Daisuke told him this, the plan was made to go over where he could have gone and search, Ace had been sure it would be as usual when they did a search mission, even though this was more serious, that Daisuke would be the mind here at the base and have an eye over it all and the others would be out searching, but no. This time, Ace was the one at the office and Daiske was out searching as the leader, which was odd, but this was serious, and Daisuke was the one who had worked the most with Shay. But still, he had this bad feeling, that something was very wrong, and it might be since Shay was working with someone, but who?
And Ace hated this kind of work, which was basically a desk job, and every time he felt like he could finally make a bit of time to get his now pent up energy out, more papers or another call came in that made it so he couldn't. Ace really wasn't made for this, the reason Daisuke usually handled it. Daisuke was good at handling this, being still and reading and taking calls for hours, Ace wasn't. He needed to move around and get his energy out. They needed to get Shay fast, before this ended badly. He still didn't get why Shay took the fruit, but he had.
For the next week, Ace felt he was going more and more insane, both since he felt the weight of the situation, for one because Chiaroscuro was so powerful and dangerous. And by the fact he had been confined to a room. The only breaks he got was when he somewhat slept or went to the bathroom. Moira came with food and drinks, and said they needed him here, as Ace was the best, and since Daisuke was out hunting for Shay. Ace hated this situation. But just a few more days before he would get out of this room no matter if they had managed to find Shay. Sure if they didn't find him, they would still search, but not use all their resources at all times. They could do that only for so long. If he wasn't found within the first two weeks, there wasn't much hope.

Whitebeard sat out on deck, the weather was good. He was waiting for Ace to return, as he would today or tomorrow most likely, 2 weeks having passed. Mika and Trevor had come back 4 days ago, and they said they didn't have any leads or knew where to look, so they just needed to hope for now. Hope they would find Shay before he used the fruit, either to eat it himself or sell it. Trevor and Mika also seemed confused as to why Shay would do this. Shay was in the close circle with Daisuke, that's how he had gotten his hands on the fruit, but he always seemed to be a good guy, had a good heart and meant well for those who deserved it. But Shay must have been plotting against them, that was the most logical explanation. Even if it seemed odd.
When Thatch had asked how Ace was taking this, Trevor had said that Ace most likely had some pent up energy, as he was the mind at the base this time. A role Ace usually didn't have as he liked, and needed, to get his energy out, he had continued. But hopefully Ace had had some spare time to get the worst out. And Whitebeard could get that, Ace had a lot of energy and needed to get it out. And if Ace had not been able to do much for two weeks, he would have a lot of energy, Whitebeard was sure of that.
They were also docked, but the island was a calm medium sized one, and nothing much happened throughout the day, or at least before evening, when bars and such opened for real. Right now, they didn't serve booze, just food, trying to keep alcoholics away so families and children could feel safe. That was a strategy he got and agreed on, people should feel safe and they respected that. The clock was 10 am right now, and they would set sail again early tomorrow morning, after having a fun night here.
It was when the clock was a bit past noon that he heard a familiar voice speak loudly where the plank was, and looked over to see Ace coming on board as he yelled; "Trevor! I am back! Look!" When said man looked at Ace, Ace did a small half running step, before he leaned himself on his heels, and he just glided over the deck, towards Trevor, who grinned. "Oh my God! You got shoes with wheels!?" Ace nodded excitedly. "I did! I found them in a store here. I love them already! And I have energy!" Ace then did a round around Trevor, who turned to keep looking at Ace. "I want a pair too!" Ace chuckled. "I took the last ones, so tough luck." Trevor gave a pout. "Aww! I want it too!" Ace chuckled. "Too bad. I got them." Trevor lifted an eyebrow. "Can I borrow them?" Ace hummed. "Maybe if I am working or training you can." Trevor moved his hand up. "Yes!"
Ace chuckled, rolling around them and seeming to enjoy himself. It was, in a way, cute to see Ace enjoying himself as he was. He looked and acted like a young kid. And Ace was a young kid, but he never really acted on it. Ace then rolled around for a bit longer, before he took a small break, and when he did, Haruta asked to try the shoes as well. Ace shrugged. "Sure. It's really fun. They might be a bit too large for you though. You can get them in a bit, I just need to do something." Haruta nodded and accepted that, and Ace continued to roll around, having fun. It was cute to watch, and he was sure Ace would quickly move to do something else, but he didn't. Ace really seemed to have a lot of energy as he rolled around, sometimes speeding up or doing some small maneuvers, just having fun, and it seemed like it was getting on Trevor nerves that Ace was sort of rolling around him and at times, even trying to get Trevor to chase him, which Trevor refused.
When Ace, for the tenth time, sort of hit Trevor over the head as he passed him Trevor took a breath as he moved a hand to his face. "I hate energy pent up Ace." Mika blinked as she seemed to remember something. "I might have an idea how to fix this." Trevor looked at her. "If this idea involves me actually chasing Ace, then no." Mika shook her head. "No. It's just, Millie is back, and has been for a bit, and you-know-which-person who does the clean up after, as she was with her should be done by now. So isn't our favorite energy fire gremlin available?" Trevor blinked. "I don't like he-" As he spoke, Ace once again rolled past and hit him over the head as he said to chase him. As he was past Trevor, heading on, Trevor looked at Mika. "Get her here right now. I don't care if she annoys me at times, get her here." Mika nodded. "Will do."
Mika then looked at Ace. "Ace! Hanzo's island! Your gremlin is available if you want to be chased! Send Dust!" Ace blinked, before he did a twirl and stopped, already pointing at Dust. "Get her!" Dust was gone quickly and Ace seemed excited. As he was about to ask who this was, there was a cloud of smoke on deck, next to Ace's mark and a small woman stood there with Dust on her shoulder, giving a pat to the raven. She was dressed in a black singlet that had some lace at the chest, jeans shorts that were fastened by a belt, and fishnet tights that ended in sneakers. She also had a jeans jacket tied around her waist . The woman's hair went a bit past her shoulders, she was blond on top but it got more orange, before turning red halfway down, it sort of looked like fire. Maybe that was the reason for the nickname.
As the smoke went away, Ace had rolled over to her. The woman gave a small shriek as she caught sight of him. They then high fived with both hands, before she looked at the shoes Ace had on. "You have shoes with wheels! Where did you get them!" Ace looked excited. "I got them at a store here! But they are out right now." The woman gave a look to Ace. "Wait. You got energy." Ace looked at her. "Been confined to a small room for 2 weeks, basically doing the job Daisuke did." The woman gave another small look. "Ooo. Not good. Sooo.. wanna be chased? And I am allowed to be here?" Ace nodded at that. "Yes!" And with that, the chase was on, the woman even doing some acrobatics to catch up, as Ace was faster on wheels, but it didn't seem to do too much for Ace's energy level.
After doing that for a small bit, the woman stopped and looked over at the island, before looking at Ace. "I bet I can roof run faster than you!" Ace stopped and looked at her. "Oh, you will regret that." And then, in a blink of an eye, the rolling shoes were off, the woman taking them and handing them to Izou just as Dust appeared with normal ones and Ace took them on as he half ran, before he and the woman were off the boat, and at the first, and also tall building. They started to climb and scaled it in a matter of seconds. It was a 10 story building as well. This woman obviously knew how to move around when she could keep up with Ace.
As they were on the roof and ran on out of view, Whitebeard looked at Trevor. "Who is that?" Trevor gave a breath. "This is our favorite fire gremlin. Her name is Cioup. Or, that is what she goes by. She works with us and can perfectly adapt and mimic another person's energy level. And Ace needs that right now, I am not dealing with this. I hate energy pent up Ace. But Cioup, she loves it." Izou looked at Trevor. "And that's her name? It sounds… off." Trevor hummed. "She wants to go by it and not her real name. And no, I will not tell her real name." Made sense.
Trevor then looked at Haruta. "Feel free to try the rolling shoes." Haruta nodded and took them on after Izou gave them to her, before she did her best to walk, but seemed to have issues as she looked back at Trevor. "How do you do this?" Trevor hummed. "You need to walk on your toes, Ace does it easily since he walks in heels a lot. And you need to lean on your heel when you want to roll." Haruta nodded and tried that, and did seem to get it more, before she rolled around herself and seemed to have fun. But as she got closer to the railing, it didn't look like she was able to stop and used her hands to grab the railing and soften the crash, before she turned and looked at Trevor. "How do I turn?" Trevor hummed. "You need to lean, with one foot a bit in front, towards the side you want to turn to. It is a learning process." Haruta nodded and tried it some more.
After a bit, Haruta did take the shoes off and Trevor took them to Ace's room, before he came back, and the day went on. They didn't see Ace for the next hours and even when they went on the island when evening came, they barely saw the back to Ace as he was still running around with Cioup, most times when they caught a glimpse of him was when they climbed buildings, jumped across gaps, or ran past them in the streets. Ace really had a lot of energy he needed to get out. They then had some fun themselves being out, many joining in, Marco joining them as well. When the clock was nearing midnight, Cioup was with them suddenly, talking with Mika, Trevor being a bit away. He was confused about where Ace was, but before he could ask, Izou did, and Cioup pointed towards Marco. When Whitebeard turned to see where Marco was sitting in the booth, Ace was sitting beside him, head on his shoulder and seemingly asleep. So he at least got his energy out. That was good.
They then had fun, and after an hour, Ace woke up and joined them in it, before they went back to the boat, where Cioup asked him for permission to stay for a small bit since she had nothing better to do and also introduced herself officially to him as well. He allowed it as he saw no harm in her staying, Ace and the others liked her. The next morning, when they were done, they got everyone from the island and set sail not long after. They would sail for a bit now, maybe 2 weeks, before they got to the next place they needed to be at, which was an island in close proximity to other islands. The sail would most likely be uneventful. And he was right, it really was uneventful. Not that that was an issue, sometimes that was better than a lot of fights.
-x-
Ace walked on the island they were at, being sure to be a bit on the alert. While this island was a good one, there were 3 other islands close, and two of them had some affiliation to Blue Blooded Patricians. While they didn't have them on the island, they sometimes got funds from the Blue Blooded Patricians, and many who originated from those two islands had become one themselves. He hoped nothing would happen. These islands also had the seastone towers on, who's effect almost covered the entire island, but the dock was out of reach, which was done on purpose, wanting to have a place they could go and use their powers.
He was walking around with some from the boat, Mika and Cioup with him, as Cioup was still with them, and it was nice. He liked Cioup, she was very good at what she did. As they were walking around, he heard someone a bit to their side talking and what they said had his attention. As he listened, he got the attention of Mika and Cioup and motioned for them to listen as well, before they both looked shocked and Mika spoke hushed. "That description sounds exactly like Shay." Ace nodded. "I think so as well, and it sounds to be the neighboring island. They are close to BBPs, I need to check it." Cioup nodded. "You want to go alone?" Ace thought for a second. "I think I should, to seem less suspicious. He will be on the alert, and there must be a reason he is here. If I need it, I will come back for help." Both women nodded.
Ace then went to the edge of the island where his powers worked, and teleported himself over to the island Shay might be at, where he started to walk around carefully. He didn't want to hide too much too as he was sure Shay wasn't out in the open. But after some minutes of walking through town, Ace blinked as he actually saw Shay, standing just a bit away, talking to a man at a stand. Ace was on his way to hide so he could sneak up to them, when Shay saw him, looked shocked, and ran. Ace wasted no time and ran after him, just now realizing that Shay was fast. Ace was sure Shay was running to a certain place and that he should catch up and take him down before that, but Shay was too fast and unlike him knew the layout of the city perfectly.
After running through the whole city, they ran towards the mountain-side and Shay ran inside a cave. Ace followed, sure this was a hideout, but was sort of shocked to see it was a regular cave, nothing special. Shay had stopped in it and looked ready to fight him, which they quickly started to do, Ace trying at times to ask why Shay did it, to which Shay said he needed to. They fought and Shay had obviously been holding back when they had fought before, as this was hard. Shay countered every move, and Ace felt some moves that he himself barely managed to counter.
They had been at it for hours now, and the cave was starting to look damaged, some parts ready to fall. As they were nearing the third hour of fighting, Ace's attention was momentarily averted to the right when he heard a child's voice yell "Shay!" Happily, and as he looked over, saw a child, no more than 8, coming into the cave. Shay yelled out, "Minnie! Get away! It's dangerous here!" Minnie stopped and looked at them with a shocked expression on her face. But as she stopped and took in the sight of them and the damage to the cave, a pillar close to her started to crumble and fall, and would fall on her. Seeing that, Shay started to yell out to move, but it wouldn't do a thing, Ace ran and grabbed her as he was closest, moving a hand to her arm and dragging her to safety as the pillar crushed down where she had been standing just seconds before. The girl looked even more shocked now as she seemed to realize she would have died if Ace hadn't saved her.
Minnie looked at him, on her way to speak, most likely to thank him, when Ace beat her to it. "Leave, it's not safe here right now." The girl blinked, before she nodded and ran out. As she did, Ace turned back to Shay, who had a gun out that was pointed at him, it clearly hadn't just been taken out, so why hadn't Shay pulled the trigger? He got, that it was to shield the girl right now, but he still didn't shoot, which was odd. He had a clear shot. Shay spoke. "Why did you save her?" Ace spoke. "She has nothing to do with this, she is a child, she is innocent in this and should not be a casualty." Shay took those words in and then slowly lowered the gun. "You are… you are not like Daisuke, are you? You do protect the innocent." Ace blinked confused, as that made no sense.
He then moved a hand up. "What do you mean? Why did you take Chiaroscuro?" Shay took a breath. "I had to. If I hadn't, many more would die, who knows how many." Ace nodded, he felt that there was more here than what Daisuke had said. Ace moved both his hands up to show them, before he sat down, hands still up. "Can you elaborate? What do you mean? Does Daisuke not fight for the innocent?" Shay looked unsure, but Ace kept calm and his hands where Shay could see them, so Shay moved a bit closer, but still a small distance away, and sat down as well before he took another breath and started to speak.
"That fruit, Chiaroscuro, Daisuke felt it would be safest if someone ate it and Daiuske would teach the person who ate it to better control it. That person was… Otis." Ace blinked, that was the one who had died on Bigeumdo, the island who had been destroyed. He wanted to ask, but had a feeling Shay would fill in the blanks as he continued. "And it was going… okay. I mean, Otis couldn't do anything special, and they went to this island, Bigeumdo, since it had a lot of open landscape to train, but then Otis just… lost control and the island… got destroyed. Daisuke killed Otis as he obviously didn't have control, and had a fruit ready to get it back. Daisuke then covered it up and said he would find someone else to give it to and try again." Ace blinked. What?
Shay took a breath. "I tried to bring this up, to say that more might die. But he said it was needed. It was needed, important, to have control on the fruit and its powers. So I knew what I had to do. I took the fruit. I snuck in, I had the code, and I took the fruit, but Diauske came and caught me just as I was sneaking back out the window, and he sent everyone he had at me. He told them I betrayed them and stole, that I-" Shay cut off for a few seconds and Ace could see the pain and betrayal shining in his eyes. That must have been horrible. Shay didn't have any family anymore, and had been with The Red Cloud for the last 15 years, them being his family and Diauske had sent everyone after Shay, telling lies to cover up his own failure. That truly must have been horrible for Shay, to have what he viewed as family go after him to try and kill him.
As Shay took a breath, he continued. "I just ran, even got a boat, but it sank and I got to this island and they took me in. Helped me recover from my injuries, and I've stayed here since they are so nice to me. I know I went against orders and I did steal from Daisuke, the leader. It's okay, you can kill me now." Ace had already made up his mind and stood up as Shay looked down at his lap, and when Ace was close, sat a bit more relaxed, ready to die, but then looked up when Ace held something out to him instead of going for the kill. Shay looked up at him, shocked to see Ace holding out his assassin mask to him.
Shay still looked shocked when he took the mask, and as his hand was on it, Ace spoke. "Shay, you fight for the innocent. You fight for what The Red Cloud stands for, for what the assassins stand for. I see that Daisuke may have lost his way, but you have not. You chose to defy Daisuke to save the innocent, so there is no one more honorable than you, who fights for the cause like you do. I will speak with Daisuke. Make him see the error of his ways. And if he doesn't, I will take over." Shay blinked. "But… I defied Daisuke, the leader of The Red Cloud… Your leader." Ace nodded. "Yes. You defied him. But I don't work for him, I work with him. If he won't see the error of his way, there is no hope for the Red Cloud anymore with him as their leader. And I will take over."
Ace let go off the mask and Shay looked like he had a hard time catching up. "But… you're a pirate now." Ace nodded. "Yes, but I can't let the Red Cloud lose their way. You fight for the right cause. Never doubt that. Take this mask, as my token. Because you fight for what Daisuke should be fighting for. Never doubt your worth or mind. Keep on walking this path, your path." With that, Ace turned and started to leave when he heard Shay speak confused. "Don't you want the fruit?" Ace shook his head. "No. Keep it safe. Never tell anyone where it is. When the time is right, it will fall into the right hands. You can't force it on anyone, because they will die and not be able to control it. Right now, it is in the safest and best hands it could be; your hands."
Then Ace left and he hoped this would make Shay sure of himself, that he did the right thing and would continue this way. As he got out of the cave, he saw the little girl, Minnie, there and she looked at him. "Is it safe now? I have a drawing I want to show Shay!" Ace smiled at her. "It is, go show it to him and hug him. He needs a friend." Minnie nodded and smiled before she ran into the cave.
As she did, Ace felt himself grow mad as his facial features fell into an angry look. He was going straight to Daisuke now. He would not check in with the others but make his way to the edge of the island, to where his fruit worked again straight away and teleport to Amegakure. Because Daisuke had betrayed Shay, betrayed them, betrayed the world. And Ace needed to fix this. This couldn't go on. And if he didn't see the error of his way, there was no hope for him anymore.
And that's the chapter! Hope you enjoyed!
So, how will Daisuke's fate be? Will he die? Will he see the error? Or will he not? All will be told in the next chapter!
