Arsenic Candy round 2

*Near a toy warehouse*

After switching to her costume, Black Cat makes her way into the city, where she hears that a group from the Arsenic Candy is moving at some warehouse that carries toy bears. Black Cat jumps down to intercept them as the candy girls take from the building, ready for action. "Ladies, coming from someone who used to steal for her my guilty pleasure, it's better to pay though by the look of you all's attires, you all might want to apply for a job. I heard the circus is hiring."

One of the members doesn't take too kindly to the hero's interference. "Keep loading those boxes. The rest of you, send this stray cat packing." The one member orders the group of 4 girls to turn their attention on Black Cat, who readies herself for a good fight.

The fight starts as one of the girls launches at Cat with her umbrella, only for Cat to flip over and kick the other one in the face. Quickly while the two younger girls are out of it, Cat attempts to fight the candy member with the hammer, but she is too fast by the way she can move around her. However, the candy member cannot swing her hammer quickly, so when she starts to attack with it, Cat swiftly moves out of the way and knocks her out quickly, following up with taking out the other two. Unfortunately, the fight had dragged on a bit longer than Felicia would like, for when she rushes through the entrance, she sees more of the Arsenic Candy robbing the toy bears.

"Great more of these spoiled brats? Note to self, work on gaining more cardio & endurance in the gym." Cat thinks, knowing that she might not be trying to take on all the girls without backup, but her stubbornness to prove she can take care of herself will not allow her to back down now.

"That crazy cat chick is still here!" One of the candy members announces, getting the other's attention.

The battle becomes intense as a few groups of the members at a time battle Black Cat where she sticks to a defensive tactic where anytime the opponent misses, Cat takes advantage and strikes back. In defeating some of the members, Cat starts to lose the edge when one of the members sets off an explosion catching her guard as she gets a bit beat down while the others grab the toys they want before escaping leaving Black Cat batter and beating. Cat feels herself wanting to pass out on the ground until she hears cries for help from a few warehouse employees stuck within the structure.

"Go get 'em Cat." The flashback of her boyfriend's words of encouragement rang in Felicia's head, causing her to slowly will herself up to her feet and make her way toward the employees that needs help. She guides them outside before collapsing to the ground as the siren sounds ring in the background.

*Meanwhile, with Peter*

To say Peter is super worried about his girlfriend going out taking on baddies on her own would be an understatement. From what he's gathering from the police radio station, it seems like Felicia has a lot more going on than she can handle but still tries to maintain faith that she will overcome. The feeling of powerlessness grows inside Peter as he continues to worry about his girlfriend being out on her own.

"If it weren't for my losing powers condition, I would be out there with her; man I wish I knew what was going on with me," Peter growls in frustration before punching the wall leaving a dent in it.

Seeing the noticeable dent gets Peter even more upset due to the inconsistency of his abilities switching on and off. "Oh now my powers want to kick in; what is taking Linda so long to give me an update!?" Peter complains until he shakes his head and calms himself down, realizing he's letting his anger get his best.

"Wait, I need to calm down. Getting workup is not going to help matters. I should go to sleep, but what if something happens to Felicia? No, I can't think like that. For now, maybe I should just lay down and relax until I hear something." Heading over to his bed after seeing a message to Linda, Peter lies back down and eventually falls asleep, believing that his girlfriend will return to him or hear from her soon.

*Back with Black Cat*

"Black Cat, you with me?" A familiar voice calls out to the heroine as Cat slowly wakes up with her vision blurry until it becomes clear who the person is standing over her.

"Ugh, Detective Wolfe?" Cat asks, blinking a few times to ensure she is not hallucinating. The beatdown by the gang did do a number on her, but as far as Black Cat is aware, nothing feels broken.

"The one and only. You seem to had your hands full with those spoil brats from the looks of things." The detective jokes while helping Black Cat sit up and handing her a water bottle.

Black Cat gracefully accepts and takes a slip before responding, "You could say that; I thought I was fine until realizing there were more inside the building, and they got the best of me."

"We have a few of the members arrested, but unfortunately, the rest of them were able to escape." Detective Wolfe states, based on the information given to her when arriving at the crime scene.

Black Cat curses underneath her breath, upset with herself for what transpired tonight. "Great, my first solo night, and it already started with a major loss between not stopping the full gang and letting the factory get blown up. I'm guessing this is the part where you would say that I was wrong about you and you should leave the crime-fighting to the professionals." Felicia began to wonder what her father would think of failure and what Peter would think; knowing that the one time he allowed her to go at it alone, she screwed up big time.

Much to her negative thinking, the following words that come out of Wolfe's mouth astonish her. "You would be correct if I was an old man who has an obsession with talking about how a certain hero we know is a menace to the city. However, that is not the case mainly for one specific reason. Them." She points towards the other way causing Felicia to see the individuals, assumedly are a couple since they are holding hands; she saved approaching them both.

"Thank you so much for saving us. We don't know what could have happened if you didn't do what you did." The male stranger says with much appreciation in his voice despite what he experienced earlier.

The male's girlfriend places her hand on top of Black Cat's and gently rubs it before saying with a smile, "The next time you see Spider-man, please tell him how lucky he is to have a partner like you by his side."

"Um, your welcome. I will be sure to give my man the message." Black Cat responds while trying to take in that two people gave her praise when she still feels like a failure to some degree.

Once the couple walks off, Detective Wolfe decides to give her praise to Black Cat to boost back her confidence. "Sounds like you are gaining yourself a little fan club thanks to your actions today. My suggestion, take this experience and learn and grow while getting stronger for future battles. Trust me; even if you did come out on top today, there would always be a tougher challenge, and at those moments, you will have to step up and show that you aren't a sidekick but a hero in many eyes."

After absorbing the advice, Black Cat shows off a slight smile feeling somewhat better about tonight's events. "Appreciate it detective."

Detective Wolfe nods before returning to her usual stern personal as she begins to walk away. "Now go home and get some rest; we will handle things from here."

With more strength back within her, Black Cat shoots out her grappling hook and makes her way to Peter, while at the same time, the man in the green and black suit is again getting captured by the same company he escaped from.

*Later that evening*

Felicia arrives at Peter, becoming more tired due to the amount of traveling and lack of recovering time after the fight. What keeps Felicia going currently is that Peter is concerned about her going solo, so the least she can do is attempt to ease his mind by coming back home to him. Crawling through the window, Felicia finds her man sound asleep, looking so cute that she doesn't want to wake him.

"Honey?" Felicia softly calls him, rubbing the side of his cheek. Peter halfway wakes up from his girlfriend's voice and instinctually wraps his arms around her waist, moaning her name, "Felicia, your home," not fully noticing the battle wounds on her costume and body.

Peter's sudden actions cause Felicia's face to become warm as she can't help but think this moment between them is heartwarming and wouldn't mind this being a thing in the future.

Before meeting Peter, her love life hasn't been that great, mainly due to her father's actions as the cat burglar and a horrible moment with an ex-boyfriend that she isn't ready to talk about because of personal reasons. When she met Peter as Spider-man, the attraction was from him being a masked vigilante like her with a boy scout honor code to later rocking the black version of his suit, which is still a major turn-on for her.

They lose contact until they meet back up in her father's prison, where they had to team up to stop the escaped inmates, where she tells her father about her crush on Spider-man. Once Spider-man denies her request to break her father out, it dramatically hurts Felicia to the point where she doesn't want anything to do with him until a second attempt to bust her father out. Hearing the truth from her dad makes her rethink how she feels toward Spider-man, especially when they reunite some time afterward. The more she got to know the young man behind the mask for feelings for him grew more than she expected. That's why it hurt when Peter was distancing himself because Felicia genuinely cares for him and doesn't want to lose him.

There's still so much she wants to share and express to Peter in the future, for right now, she wants to keep the body-to-body contact with him. "Your right Spider; I am home," Felicia states warmly before settling in Peter's bed with his head now rested on her stomach with Felicia's suit half off to get more comfortable, leaving Peter for a huge surprise when he wakes up.

Author note: I heard you all comment, and after reading the Black Cat & Mary Jane Beyond comic, I decided... we are not doing harem, haha. Honestly, my heart wouldn't entirely be up to it at this point of the story. However, I might, no promises, might do a Peter x Felicia x Mary Jane fic at some point to satisfy that urge. In the meantime, I still might have an alternate plan for who I would pair Mj with, but that won't be until down the road.

As far as Felicia in the chapter, my intention with her character is that while she has improved since teaming with Peter, unlike her TAS counterpart, she doesn't have the enhanced abilities that would cause her not to last long in drawn-out battles. However, the idea will be that she will get better from her without making it seem like she op; now how will that happen? You will have to wait and see.
