Kingdom Hearts: Web of the Dark Heart

Chapter 12: Curella de Vil

Morning soon came and everyone, including the Dalmatian Family, struggled to wake up after Kraven's ambush cost them a portion of sleep.

Peter: (Waking up with Wanda) You want to wake the kids?

Wanda: Sure.

Wanda found Sora and Laura curled up with each other like they were brother and sister. Wanda smiled and began to shake Sora awake.

Wanda: Sora, time to get up.

Sora: (Trying to stay asleep) Do I have to?

Wanda: (Giggling) Yes, Sweetie. You have to.

Sora rubbed his eye as he got up. He saw Laura lost her doll and found it near her. He gently placed it back in her arms.

Wanda: Are you trying to be her big brother?

Sora: She just wants to be with someone who cares for her. (As Wanda levitated her into the carrier) Is it going to be warm today?

Wanda: We'll see.

Not wanting to get stuck in another snowstorm, Peter put his mask on to have Karen check the local weather forecast.

Karen: No sign of another storm coming and the temperature seems to be increasing.

Doom: (Approaching) Sir, what the weather going to be? Because we can't take the kids out in another storm.

Spider-Man: Looks like it's clear. (Looking at Pongo) Looks like the weather is clear for us to head out, Pongo.

Pongo: Thank goodness.

Wanda was guiding Sora to Perdita to ride when he decided to ask a question.

Sora: Ms. Wanda can Rover come with us on our adventure.

Wanda kneeled to the future Keyblade Wielder.

Wanda: I don't think so, Honey. Having a dog is a big responsibility. Plus, Rover has a big family. You don't want to have Rover leave his new family, right?

Sora was upset Rover couldn't come with them when they leave but thought it was right to leave him with his new family. With everyone aboard, the Dalmatians headed for the village of Dinsford. They were doing their best to remain undetected, but Curella caught their trail. Meeting up with Horace and Jasper, they started patrolling the town. Luckily, the Labrador that they were supposed to meet up with found them and led them to a blacksmith shop to hide in.

Labrador: Pongo, I got a ride home for you!

Pongo: A ride home? Perdy, Wanda, you two heard that?

Perdita: For all of us?

Lucky: Does that mean we don't have to walk anymore?

White Tiger: Sounds like it, kid.

Doom: (Looking outside) Might be difficult. (As Spider-Man looked outside) Curella is patrolling.

Spider-Man: Not good.

The Labrador remained confident and got the adults to look at the moving van close by.

Labrador: That moving van is going to London as soon as the engine is repaired. And there's room for everyone.

Spider-Man: Easier said than done. (Pointing) Look!

Hoarce and Jasper came from the opposite side of the road. Everyone ducked as they came by.

White Tiger: Ugh! Those bozos will spot us if we move to the van.

Doom: And if they don't, the Human Trandoshin will.

Perdita: They're not looking for all of you. You can go ahead and go to the van.

Spider-Man: No. We're all getting onto van. We just need a plan. (Quietly) Or if I can remember how they managed to get to the van in the movie.

Before the Web-Slinger could remember the way the movie went, two of the puppies interrupted his train of thought.

Lucky: (With his entire front half covered in soot) Mother, Dad, Patch pushed me into the fireplace.

Patch: (With his rear half covered in soot) Lucky pushed me first.

As the siblings bickered, Sora saw them black and had an idea. He tugged on Wanda's cape and whispered it to her.

Perdita: Please, children, don't quarrel.

Wanda: (Getting the adults attention) Hey, guys! Sora has an idea. (Encouraging tone) Go on, Honey. It's okay.

Sora: What if we hide the doggies and sneak them to the truck?

Spider-Man then remembered how the movie went.

Spider-Man: (Snapping his fingers) He's right! Curella is looking for, specifically, Dalmatians.

Pongo: That might work. We just need it to work long enough to get to the van.

Doom: (As White Tiger picked up some soot) Any ideas on how we do that?

White Tiger: (Wiping her hands) I do. Everyone, in the soot!

Catching on what White Tiger had in mind, Pongo started rolling in the soot and ended up looking like a Labrador.

Wanda: You look like a Labrador.

Pongo: Perfect! Do as White Tiger say! Everyone in the soot!

Much to her disgust, Perdita encouraged the children to do so. Sora was about to jump in, but Wanda grabbed him.

Spider-Man: Sorry, Sport. We're not getting dirty today.

Sora: But she say everyone.

Spider-Man: Why roll in the dust when we got the Web-Line Express?

White Tiger: (Groan) Years later and the jokes are still bad.

As the puppies, now disguised as Labradors, went to the van, Hoarce and Jasper took notice of them.

Horace:(Pointing out to the puppies for Jasper)Look,Jasper: Do you suppose they disguised themselves?

Jasper:(Taking note of Horace's observation)Say now, Horace. That's just what they did. Dogs is always paintin' themselves black!(meanly conks him on the head)You idiot!

While the puppies were getting aboard the van, Spider-Man was using his web-shooters to swing everyone else on board. Sparky turned himself into pure electricity and buzzed into the back of the truck, so Spider-Man didn't have to worry about him. First, he got Doom aboard. Then, White Tiger. Finally came Wanda and the kids. Laura whimpered on what was going to happen as Spider-Man took her out of her carrier.

Spider-Man: (Holding her) It's okay, Laurie. I got ya and I won't let go till we're at the truck.

Spider-Man started swinging and, true to his promise, didn't drop her until they got to the van.

Spider-Man: (Placing her next to Sparky) Stay here. I'll be right back. (To Sparky) Watch her.

Sparky: Ih.

Spider-Man swung back and got Sora.

Sora: (Holding on) Mr. Peter, can I get my own web-thingies?

Spider-Man: (Chuckling) We'll see, Sport. It's for your parents to decide.

Spider-Man place Sora next to Laura, who hugged Sora for security. Spider-Man lifted his sleeves to check his Web-Shooters.

Spider-Man: Only enough for one more pick-up.

Spider-Man jumped out of the van and went to get Wanda.

Spider-Man: Come on, time isn't on our side.

Wanda: What do you mean?

Before Spider-Man could explain, Curella spotted the puppies that got wet from some melted snow.

Spider-Man: That's why! Hop on!

Without thinking, Wanda jumped into Spider-Man's arm. As they swung to the van, both were blushing on the event. Spider-Man ran out of web fluid right as they got to the van. Everyone held on as the van pulled out and Curella gave chase. Taking the main road, the van was soon bound for London but Curella and her lackeys were catching up fast.

Perdita: Pongo, everyone! There she is: Curella!

The puppies, Sora & Laura, and Sparky took cover as Curella went for the van and began banging into it, trying to force it off the road. The driver thought Curella was insane. Laura was terrified as Curella kept banging the truck and hugged her doll. Sora was equally scared but hugged Laura to make her feel safe. With his soldier instinct kicking in, Doom drew one of his DC-17 Hand Blasters and was about to fire. Sparky jumped into the blaster and gave the weapon some added power. Doom opened fired and actually managed to damage Curella's car.

Spider-Man: Check your fire! Damage her car but don't kill her! We're not killers!

Doom: Understood, sir!

Curella continued to ram into the truck, unaware Doom was the one damaging her car. Meanwhile, Hoarce and Jasper were coming another way to stop the van.

Spider-Man: Just hang out a little longer, everyone!

One of the puppies fell out but Perdita caught him just before he fell into the gorge below. Everyone helped Perdita back inside as Hoarce and Jasper's truck crashed right into Curella's car.

Spider-Man: (Calling) Bye-bye, Psycho! We'll be sure to give your regards to the police.

Curella was having her iconic tantrum while Jasper told her to 'Shut Up'.

White Tiger: Hey Peter, you and the Mrs. better calm your kids down.

Spider-Man and Wanda immediately blushed but thought it wasn't the time after the scare they endured. Wanda picked up Sora and Spider-Man picked up Laura. The pair whimpered but started to calm down in the adults' embraced. Hours later, the arrived at the Radcliffe House, Pongo and Perdita's home.

Spider-Man: Let them enjoy being home.

Everyone heard the Radcliffe and their maid, Nanny being happy and surprised by the Dalmatians arrival. Peter started changing into his civilian clothes.

Peter: Wanda, do you think you can make us full size with your powers?

Wanda: I can try but I did it only once. I don't know how I can hold.

Peter: We'll make do.

Roger Radcliff was about to play his piano when everyone heard a knock at the door. Roger opened it and found Peter and company standing at the door, full size.

Peter: Roger Radcliff?

Roger: Yes?

Peter: I'm Peter Parker, Freelance Investigative Reporter. This is my… Partner, Wanda Maximoff. The little ones are Sora and Laura. We'd like to discussed the Dalmatians we help return.

Roger: Oh, yes. But first come in. It's much too cold for those children to be out here.

After being escorted into the living room, Nanny brought them some hot tea.

Peter: (Getting his tea) Thank you.

Wanda: (Getting her tea) Thank you.

Sora: (Getting his tea) Thank you.

When Laura got hers, she struggled to speak.

Anita: Is the poor dear alright? She seems to be struggling.

Wanda: She's… Verbally disabled.

Anita: I'm sorry. I meant no disrespect.

Peter: It's quite alright. Now for business. The culprit who stole your Dalmatian puppies was Curella de Vil.

Anita gasped in shock that someone she trusted stole her beloved puppies. Roger, on the other hand, was not surprised.

Roger: I knew it! I knew she was behind it!

Anita: Why would she do something like this?

Wanda: (As Sora petted Rover) She was planning on making fur skin coats out your puppies and the other 84 here.

Anita and Nanny gasped in shock but Roger was just furious.

Roger: That woman is a lunatic! Making animal skin coats from young puppies… Barbaric.

Sora: She was scary. Even when she tried to knock us out of the truck we rode in.

Roger: WHAT?!

Wanda: It's true. She got a ride in a moving van coming here and she tried to force us off the road. Scared Sora and Laura half to death.

Roger: THAT'S IT! I'm calling the police on her!

Anita: (As Roger got on the telephone) Thank you, Mr. Parker. You and your family risked your lives to bring these puppies home. Roger and I are deeply grateful.

Peter and Wanda blushed in embarrassment. They wanted to correct her but thought Roger would do something drastic.

Peter: We were just doing the right thing. We best be going.

Sora was sad Rover had to stay. But Anita decided to help him smile.

Anita: Don't worry. We'll take good care of him. I promise.

Sora smiled at Anita's honest face. Taking their leave, Peter and the group left. Pongo and Perdita smiled and barked happily to say goodbye. They watched their human friends, forever grateful to them. Wanda's power began to wear off and they shrunk back to the size they were in.

Doom: Sir, I contacted the Ghost to send the Phantom down but the Droid answered.

Peter: Luke didn't respond?

Doom: No, sir.

White Tiger: Luke's probably asleep right now. I'm sure he's fine.

The Phantom Shuttle arrived with Kraven still restrained and unconscious.

Peter: (To Doom as everyone boarded) How'd it taste to do some hero work, Doom?

Doom: If I'm being honest, sir… Felt pretty good.

Peter smiled as he got aboard.
