The battle bus descended into the clouds.
Ravaging across the roof, purple flames roared and burned at the the hull. The driver went limp, his head slammed onto the wheel, the entrance door blackened and fuming. Passengers screamed, the smell of gas pushing its way through the corridor.
Jones shielded his eyes, as the pink beam of light shone through the window.
Another window cracked, then burst open, sending a few people flying out into the black clouds. One of them slammed onto the frame, tearing the metal away with him. A hole appeared on the wall, pulling out objects into the void below.
"Jonesy! Jonesy!" Ava said, holding him close. She shivered violently as the wind snarled above them.
"Ava! It's gonna be okay. Get your glider." Jones said amidst the chaos. He hugged her tight. He turned to look for Hush and Sam, but the driver flew to the seat beside them.
They had to leave now.
Jones stared for a moment, "Ava, we have to jump, now."
"Okay!"
The bus jerked violently to the right, and they hit the wall. Then it started spinning.
"HOLD ON!" Jones yelled.
Crashing into a building, the bus pierced through concrete and metal. Jones blacked out, then awoke, his hand empty.
"Ava, where are you?!"
He plowed through the rubble, then pushed his way through the back door. People lay unconscious around him, some rubbing their heads, others slowly rising up. The hole in the wall now was massive, taking up a third of the bus.
Ava lay unconscious, one floor below, rubble covering everything below her chest. Furniture and rock piled on top of her.
"Ava, can you hear me?" Jones yelled. He pulled out his glider, and jumped. It tilted unevenly and he hit his knees on the ground.
He yelled in pain, then rushed towards her. He grabbed her hand and held it close.
"Ava? Ava can you hear me? Someone help!" He yelled louder, but explosions and gunfire rattled the air.
"AVAAAAAAA!" Jones screamed.
