I don't own any characters. A Series of Unfortunate Events belongs to both Daniel Handler and Netflix. Hawkeye belongs to both the MCU and Disney.

It was a cold day in the city of New York, and everyone was going about their business as well as getting things ready for the holidays. Some people were spending their holidays in New York City and that was just what the Barton family was doing along with their new wards, the Baudelaires. Like Laura, Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel, the Baudelaires had been blipped away. Sadly, while they had been lucky enough to be brought back, the same couldn't be said for the parents of Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire as they had died in a house fire prior to the snap. Mr. Poe had offered to take the Baudelaires in but changed his mind when he learned that the Bartons were nearby. Also, having an Avenger as a guardian was the best protection that anyone could ask for. Not to mention that 12 year old Klaus was over the moon about it. He was the only boy in the Baudelaires and everything he read, he remembered. One of his favorite things to read about was superheroes, especially the Avengers. His older sister Violet was 14 and enjoyed inventing things. Sunny was only a baby, and she loved to bite stuff. At the moment, the Barton's and the Baudelaires were watching a musical about how the Avengers were formed and they were bored out of their minds.

Klaus thought to himself, I never thought it would possible that a musical starring the Avengers would be boring as heck. Who on earth wrote this horrible play anyway? When will it be over? I'm never getting this hour of my life back.

Sometime later, the Baudelaires and the Barton's were having dinner at a Chinese restaurant. As Klaus ate his meal and silently thanked the powers that be for the play finally ending, he was pulled out of his head as he heard someone getting up from their seat and hurrying away. Klaus pulled himself out of his head just in time to see Clint hurrying out the restaurant as he began to chase someone. Klaus wanted to see him in action, but the rest of the Barton children decided it was time to head back to their hotel.

Cooper waved the waitress over to them and asked for the check.

Klaus frowned as he inquired "Why can't we go and watch him fight?"

"Because he doesn't want any of us to get hurt." Lila jumped in before she added "This might be just a game to you, but he's, our dad. Every time he heads off to fight crime, we always pray that he comes home alive and free of injuries. I mean, he's no Hulk, Captain Marvel or Thor. He's only human and just our dad."

Klaus suddenly realized how insensitive he was being. He had been so caught up in the excitement of living with a superhero, that he didn't think about the feelings of Hawkeye's family.

As he opened his mouth to apologize, Lila replied with "I'm going to forgive you this one time because you've just joined our family, but please don't speak so casually about our dad's life and death missions in the future."

Klaus nodded his head in agreement, and then they headed back to their hotel room as they waited for what seemed like forever for Clint to come back. When he did return, he stated that he was sending the kids back home early.

Klaus realized that this might mean that he must be about to go on a superhero mission. Oh, how he would give anything to watch Hawkeye in action! Sadly, he quickly realized that Hawkeye would just send him and his sister's home with the rest of his children. Hopefully, he would be able to tell everyone all about it, if he came home at all. Klaus suddenly remembered all the crazy situations that he and his sisters got into and how they managed to survive only by thinking on their feet. Right then and there, Klaus vowed to help Clint if he needed it.

As Klaus gathered up his things, he suddenly had a feeling that he was being watched.

He looked around, but didn't see anything and for a moment, he wondered if it was all in his head. However, as he left the room and went to join his sisters and foster siblings, he heard someone starting to follow him. When he stopped, so did the footsteps. Once again, Klaus looked behind him and yet there was no sign of anyone following him. Feeling a little freaked out, he started walking again, unfortunately the footsteps started up again. Unable to contain his fear any longer, Klaus broke out into a run. As he ran down the hallway, he could hear the footsteps chasing after him. When he glanced back and he was still unable to see who was following him, the 12-year-old genus cried out "Violet! Clint! Where are you guys?!"

Then, a few seconds later, Violet hurried over with Sunny in her arms as she inquired "What is it? Are you okay? Did Olaf find us again?"

However, before Klaus could have the chance to explain, the rest of the Barton children approached the Baudelaires followed by Clint. As soon as Hawkeye appeared, Klaus heard the footsteps vanishing in the opposite direction. While Clint didn't seem to hear the footsteps, Violet, Sunny and the Barton children all did.

Lila pointed her dad in the direction of the footsteps and said "Dad, someone was following Klaus and now they've run off since that they saw you coming."

Clint looked shocked at that before he turned to Klaus and said "Are you alright? Did they hurt you?"

Klaus shook his head.

Clint let out a sigh of relief as he added "Go to your siblings."

Klaus did as he was told and as he did so, he had a feeling that things were about to get worse for himself and his sisters. In what seemed to be no time at all, Klaus returned to Violet, Sunny, Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel.

Violet noticed the fearful look on her younger brother's face right away and asked "Are you alright? What happened up there?"

Klaus managed to compose himself before he leaned towards Violet's right ear and whispered "I was being followed and I don't know who it is. Clint is looking for them."

Violet's face became pale as she inquired "Is there anything we should do?"

"He told me that I should go back to you guys and wait for him." Klaus answered.

"We can't do that. What if it's Count Olaf?" Violet pointed out as a look of fear appeared on her face.

"You can and you must." Lila suddenly interjected before she added "Besides, our father is Hawkeye. He's an Avenger and brought everyone from the snap, including us. If anyone can defeat this Olaf guy, it's my dad."

While Klaus, Cooper and Nathaniel all nodded their heads in agreement at Lila's words, Violet and Sunny looked unconvinced, even if he was a superhero and one of the people who saved the universe, Hawkeye still was a normal man and Olaf was very crafty. True, Hawkeye wasn't the same kind of man that Olaf could easily fool, but that made Violet worry that Olaf and his troupe would just try to kill him right away. Unsure of what to do, Violet tied her hair back with a ribbon as she began to pace around the hotel room. In the middle of walking, an idea suddenly came to the mind of the 14-year-old inventor. She spotted the glass coaster on the table that was near the bathroom.

As Violet began to look around for anything she could use, Lila asked "What are you doing?"

"Making something that can help your Dad." Violet answered.

Lila let out a sigh as she replied "Look, I know you want to be the next Tony Stark and I know adults had let you and your siblings down in the past but trust me. My Dad isn't one of those adults. He's an Avenger, remember?"

Violet tearfully nodded her head as Lila continued with "It's great that you want to help, but you need to stay out of it. Our Dad is more than capable of taking care of this problem all by himself."

No sooner had she finished speaking, Hawkeye returned to the room in one piece.

At once, his children all huddled around him and asked "What happened? Did you kick the bad guys' butts? Are you alright?"

Hawkeye, also known as Clint Barton smiled as he assured everyone with "It's alright now. They're tied up and the police will arrive to take them into custody shortly."

Sometime later, the Baudelaires and Bartons were outside of the hotel watching the police load up Olaf and his troupe into their cars as he kicked and fought against the officers holding him. After failing to get the adults in their lives to take Olaf seriously so many times, it was glorious to watch karma coming back to bite Olaf at last.

Once the police cars had left, Clint turned to both the Bartons and the Baudelaires as he said "Alright, I have some bad news, I have to stay behind in the city. There's a problem that I need to take care of."

Both the Bartons and the Baudelaires looked disappointed, but Clint added "Don't worry, I will be home for Christmas. One way or another, I will be home for Christmas."

Both sets of children smiled at him for that.

Sometime later, the Baudelaires and the Barton children were sitting on a train by themselves as it took them back to their home.

To pass the time, Lila turned to Violet and said, "So how did you guys like New York?"

"It was awesome." Klaus answered.

"Ever since your dad helped stop the invasion, I always wanted to go to the city and see where he fought the creatures." Klaus confessed.

Then, a sad look appeared upon his face as he added "Then my Dad reminded me that real people died in that attack and that they were never able to go home to their families again."

Lila gave Klaus a disapproving look as she muttered "Fans always forget that their idols are real people with real lives."

Klaus looked down at his feet as he muttered "I'm so sorry, I promise I will not get so caught up in his awesome adventures and will always remember that he is still human just like us."

At his words, all 3 of the Barton children smiled.

Then, before they knew it, the train had reached its destination and with that, both the Baudelaires and the Bartons stepped off the train to meet Laura Barton. She hugged all of the children before she asked "So, how was the trip? Did you kids have fun in New York City?"

All of the children nodded their heads as Cooper added "Too bad, Dad had to stay in the city for some unfinished business."

"I know. He called me." Laura explained.

As she took in all of the children's sad looks, Laura changed the subject with "Why don't we all make some gingerbread houses together?"

That cheered up the Barton kids, as Sunny muttered "Be ge?"

Which meant, "What's a gingerbread house?"

Laura looked confused at Sunny's 'words', before Klaus answered with "A gingerbread house is a treat that families who celebrate Christmas make together. They decorate it with all kinds of candies and when the Christmas season is over, they eat it."

Sunny smiled gleefully as she licked her lips.

By the time night fell at the Barton farm, Laura, Violet, Klaus, Cooper, Lila, Nathaniel and Sunny went right to work making lovely gingerbread houses. By the time they were all finished with them all, it was time for bed.

"Be wa?" Sunny wondered, which meant "When will we get to eat them?"

"Huh?" Laura uttered in confusion.

"She wants to know when we can eat our houses." Violet explained.

"How are you able to understand her?" Laura wondered.

"We're just able to." Klaus answered with a shrug.

Laura gave the Baudelaires a look of bewilderment before she remarked "Sunny is one of the smartest babies I have ever seen."

Sunny blushed and smiled as she laughed.

"What are we going to do tomorrow?" Violet questioned.

"We're going to do some Christmas shopping for both food and presents for our friends." Laura answered.

"Would you like for me to read Sunny a bedtime story before bed?" She inquired.

Sunny eagerly nodded her head as Laura lifted Sunny out of Violet's arms and carried her into her new bedroom, placed her in her crib, before she pulled out the classic good night, Moon and sat down in a nearby chair and began to read the story. By the time she was finished, Sunny had fallen asleep, and Laura smiled as she walked over towards the sleeping infant and gently placed a blanket over her as she walked out of the room.

The next day, the Bartons and Baudelaires went Christmas shopping at the local mall. Sunny couldn't help but look around at all the various things in the display windows. Violet laughed at her sister's excitement as she couldn't help admiring how beautiful and amazing all of the gifts in the windows looked.

"I hope there's a bookstore in this place." Klaus stated hopefully.

"Don't worry, there is." Laura assured Klaus.

"Ge-Be?" Sunny wondered, which meant "Will there be lots of things for me to bite?"

"What did she say?" Lila wondered.

"She wants to get lots of things to bite." Violet explained.

"I still don't understand how you guys are able to understand her." Cooper muttered.

"We don't know either." Klaus confessed.

"Hey!" Sunny cried out in ignition.

This caused the Burtons and Baudelaires to laugh, before they resumed shopping. While Laura and Lila enjoyed shopping in the clothing and jewelry stores, Violet, Sunny and the rest of the boys were bored out of their minds.

"After all these years, I still don't understand why women love fashion and jewelry so much." Cooper stated.

Nathanal, Violet, Klaus and Sunny all nodded their heads in agreement as Klaus whispered to the Burton boys with "My sisters are the exceptions among women."

Violet and Sunny quickly became embarrassed at this statement, even though they were both very smart, they didn't feel like exceptions for their whole gender.

Then, that moment soon came to an end as they left the clothing store and began to explore the rest of the mall. Then much to Violet's delight, the next store that they visited was a wood and tools shop. Laura allowed her to buy as many tools as her heart desired. However, just as Laura had finished paying for Violet's tools, her cell phone buzzed. She checked the caller ID and the number made her turn pale.

Seeing this, Violet wondered "What's the matter? Is everything okay?"

"I'm fine. I just need to call these guys back." Laura fibbed before she excused herself and walked off into a small corner as she called the number back.

As she talked to them, the Baudelaires and Burtons wondered what was going on. Violet, Klaus and Sunny couldn't help but feel scared that Olaf and his troupe had managed to break out of jail.

Then, Laura walked back over to them with a worried look on her face as she said, "Gather your things, we're going home."

Violet, Klaus and Sunny exchanged uneasy glances with each other as they left the mall with the Bartons.

As they walked out of the mall and made their way towards their van, Violet and Klaus kept looking around for any sign of Olaf and his troupe. Once Laura had managed to put everything in the car, she ushered everyone inside and began to drive all the way home.

Violet wanted so badly to ask Laura if Olaf and his troupe had escaped, but she knew that she couldn't ask that question in front of her foster siblings and that was the same reason that Laura couldn't talk about it right now. After what seemed to be a very long time, the group finally managed to arrive back at the farmhouse. She waited for Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel to go into the house before she turned to the Baudelaires and said, "I have some bad news, Olaf and some of his troupe members have managed to escape from prison."

The Baudelaires were unsurprised by the news, but they were still scared.

"What are you going to do?" Klaus wondered.

"No one will be able to leave the house without me." Laura stated. "The good news is that our home is off the grid. So, they'll have a hard time being able to find us." She reassured the Baudelaires.

"What will you do if they do find us?" Violet wondered.

Laura gave them a strange but reassuring smile as she replied with "Let's just say that my husband isn't the only one in the family to be wary of."

Violet wondered what she meant by that but decided that she didn't want to know.

Is she like Black Widow? Violet thought to herself as she tried not to think about the possibility of Olaf and his troupe finding them again and doing harm to Laura and her family.

Clint, I hope you finish your mission and come home soon. Violet thought to herself as she, Laura and her siblings made their way into their home.

Seeing that the Baudelaires were shaken by the news, Laura said "Why don't we have a fun night filled with pizza, popcorn and a Christmas movie marathon?"

The Baudelaires weren't Christian, but they were touched by the fact that the Bartons were willing to include them in their Christmas traditions and plans.

"That sounds awesome." Klaus stated as a smile appeared on his face.

Smiles soon followed on Violet and Sunny's faces as Laura placed some popcorn in the microwave. As the sound of small popping noises filled the house, Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel entered the kitchen and Cooper wondered "What's going on, Mom?"

"We're going to have a Christmas movie, popcorn and pizza night." Laura answered.

At once, Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel's eyes all lit up with joy as Lila asked "What movie are we going to watch? Can we have cheese pizza, garlic twists, cinnamon twists and chocolate lava cakes?"

Laura smiled as she said "Of course."

As the popcorn had finished popping, Laura added "What Christmas movie do you guys want to watch?"

Sometime later, the Baudelaires and the Bartons were sitting on the couch and watching A Christmas Story with not only popcorn and pizza, but with garlic and cinnamon twists and chocolate lava cakes.

As Sunny eagerly ate her chocolate lava cake, a stunned Lila uttered "How the heck can she eat a whole lava cake in one minute without getting her mouth burned?"

Sunny gave the girl a chocolate filled smile as she shook her head no.

"Sunny's a special kid." Violet stated.

"As are all of you." Laura stated as she smiled at the tender moment that she shared with her family. Then, before anyone knew it, the movie had ended and it was time for bed. Laura carried Sunny to her room as Cooper, Lila, Nathenial, Violet and Klaus went to their rooms, changed into their pjs and each waited for Laura to call out 'Good night' to them.

A few seconds later, Laura wished all of them good night and soon after they all fell asleep.

Sometime later, the Baudelaires and the Barton children were awoken by the sound of someone breaking into their home! The Baudelaires and Bartons were too frightened to move and for a moment, didn't know what to do. Then, an idea came into the mind of the eldest Barton son. He simply pulled out his cell phone and silently texted both of his parents. As he waited for a reply from either one of his parents, Copper began to try to think of a way to alert his siblings of the danger without letting the intruders know what he was doing.

What do I do? What do I do? What do I do? Cooper thought to himself with anxiety.

As he tried to come up with a plan, he was pulled out of his head as he heard some footsteps approaching his room. Without wasting a second, he quickly hid under the bed as he heard a male voice said, "Is this Klaus's room?"

"I don't know, we need to check and make sure." A second voice answered.

"Well, what will we do if this isn't the boy's room or none of the Baudelaires?" The first voice asked.

"Simple, we use that child as a hostage." The second voice answered.

Cooper felt his blood turn to ice as he began to pray to anyone who would listen that the intruders wouldn't find him or that his dad would come home at any moment. Sadly, his prayers went unanswered, and he was found by a bald man and Walt faced man.

They pulled him out under the bed, despite his struggling and the fact that he had bit the wart faced man hard enough to draw blood on his left hand. As they dragged him out of his room, he heard his mother's voice utter "Let go of my son!"

Then a second later, both men had fallen to the ground out cold and had let go of Cooper. Cooper spun around to see his mother standing in the doorway and threw his arms around her as he began to cry.

Then, that touching moment came to and as they heard footsteps approaching them. Cooper spotted the intruder and realized that it was the same man that was after the Baudelaires, Count Olaf!

Cooper let out a gasp of shock as he cried out "Mom, look out!"

His mother quickly let go of her son, pushed him right behind her as she turned around to face Olaf. As he lunged at with them with a needle that was presumably filled with something deadly. Thankfully, Laura was able to not only dodge Olaf's attack but managed to grab the hand that held the needle. Laura quickly forced the needle to the floor and wrestled him to the ground as she ordered Cooper "Find your siblings and get them out of here! Then, I need you to bring me some duct tape and be wary for any other burglars in this house."

As Cooper was about to do as was told, he heard his mother demand "How did you find this house?"

"If you must know, after we all escaped, I managed to bribe your former coworkers for your location with what little money we have." Olaf answered.

As much as Cooper wanted to see his mother go to work on Olaf, he knew he needed to find his siblings and get them out of the house. So, with great effort, he pulled himself away from his mother and Olaf and managed to make his way towards Lila's room. He opened her door and found an already awake Lila hiding under her bed.

"What's going on? I thought our home was safe from people after Dad." Lila questioned in a tone of fear.

"Apparently not from the Baudelaires' arch enemy." Cooper stated before he added "They managed to bribe someone into revealing the location of our home."

Lila let out a silent cry of frustration as she muttered under her breath "I thought that Dad got rid of all the corruption?"

"So did I." Cooper replied before he quickly changed the subject with "We need to find Nathaniel, Violet, Klaus and Sunny and get out of here."

"What about contacting Dad and letting him know what's going on?" Lila pointed out to him.

Cooper was caught off guard before he mentally slapped himself for not thinking of that during his panic.

All he could manage to say was "Good point."

With that, Cooper gently pulled Lila out from under her bed, helped her to her feet and then the two of them did their best to get to Nathaniel's room. Lila kept an eye out for any more intruders as Cooper quietly crept into their little brother's room. As Lila kept her guard up, she soon spotted Klaus out of the corner of her eye as he raised a finger to his lips and gestured for her to come over to him.

"I can't. I'm keeping an out for Cooper." Lila mouthed back.

A few seconds later, Cooper emerged from Nathaniel's room with the youngest member of the Barton family in tow.

The 3 Barton children quickly hurried over towards Klaus's side.

"Where's Violet and Sunny?" Cooper mouthed at Klaus.

"They're outside in the barn and Violet is making something that can help us." Klaus mouthed back to the Bartons.

With that, Klaus did his best to lead the Barton children to the back exit of the house. However, just as they reached the exit, they were stopped by another troupe member. For a moment, they didn't know what to do and were frozen with fear.

Then, Cooper decided to charge at the intruder as he cried out "Guys run!"

Klaus was hesitant to leave Cooper to deal with the henchman by himself, but Lila and Nathaniel were already pulling him out the open back door.

Klaus opened his mouth to cry for Cooper to join them, but Lila quickly covered his mouth as she whispered in his left ear.

"It's too late now. Besides, he can take care of himself. We all can." Lila replied as she tried to reassure Klaus.

The 12-year-old only boy of the Baudelaires still didn't like it, but he knew that he had no other choice now. With a heavy heart, he led Lila and Nathaniel back to the barn. As soon as they stepped outside, they had found Violet and Sunny who were not only safe, but she had managed to make a weapon.

"What did you make?" Were the first words that came out of Klaus's mouth.

"A taser." Violet answered in a matter-of-fact manner.

"Will it be able to take down all of them?" Klaus wondered.

"It will." Violet assured her younger brother.

A few seconds later, Violet made her way to the top of the barn and set up the homemade taser to fire on the intruders. She looked for any sign of the troupe members. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw Laura stepping out into the backyard as she called out for her children with "Cooper? Lila? Nathaniel? Violet? Klaus? Sunny? Can anyone hear me? I've got them all tied up in the house. It's safe to come out now."

Violet, Klaus, Sunny, Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel all exchanged glances with each other. Should they trust her? Is she telling the truth? For a moment, no one knew what to do. Then, an idea came to Lila's mind as she suddenly called out "What's the password?"

"Red! Red! Red!" Laura called out to the children.

"Blue! Blue! Blue!" Lila shorted back towards her mother.

Soon after, Cooper and Nathaniel started to do the same.

All 3 Baudelaires gave each other bewildered looks before Cooper explained "It's a game that we play to show that we know that our parents are themselves and not strangers in disguise."

Violet, Klaus and Sunny all looked at each other, all of them were thinking Why didn't I think of that?

Then, they all managed to pull themselves out of their heads and followed Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel out of the barn.

Soon after, they were wrapped up in Laura's embrace. After what seemed to be a very long time, she let go of the children and told them to stay outside while she kept an eye on the intruders as they waited for the police. Not knowing what to do, all of the children did as Laura said.

After what seemed to be a while, the police car pulled up to the farm as both the Bartons and the Baudelaires were sitting on the edge of the road that led to it. After the cops took Olaf and his troupe members away, Laura called her husband as she tried to calm both sets of children down. Once the Bartons and the Baudelaires had relaxed, Laura was able to resume talking with her husband on the phone.

Eventually she managed to finish talking with Clint and ended the conversation as she turned to the children and said "He'll be coming home very shortly with a guest."

"A guest? What kind of guest is he bringing over? Is the guest another superhero or an important person in need of protection?" Lila asked in clear excitement.

"He says that she's a friend who's helping him in the city." Laura answered.

"What's she like?" Klaus wondered.

"He didn't talk much about her. He was more interested in if we are alright after I told him about what had happened." Laura explained.

"Is Dad okay on his own mission?" Cooper inquired as a hint of worry entered his voice.

Laura was quiet for a moment before she replied with "He's doing fine on his mission and sends us his love."

"I just hope that he gets back home in time for Christmas." Nathaniel stated as he tried to stay positive.

Laura gave her youngest son a sad look as she pulled him into a loving hug. Soon Cooper, Lila, Violet, Klaus and Sunny joined in. Then, the hug came to an end as the family went back inside the house. They tried to go back to sleep, but the night's events had left them too frightened to sleep. In the end, they managed to fall asleep around 5 in the morning. When they woke up, it was now 1 am in the next day. Laura was stunned by how long that she and her family had slept for, that she mentally slapped herself for wasting the whole day in bed.

She went to check on both sets of children sleeping peacefully in their beds. Laura was so moved by the sight that she decided to let them sleep. She then went on to set up the Christmas decorations all around the house by herself. When she was finished, she went into the kitchen and made herself a grilled cheese sandwich. As she took a bite, Laura realized that she hadn't eaten a grilled cheese sandwich in a long time.

I almost forgot what it tastes like. Laura thought to herself with nostalgic glee.

And now I need to do a heavy-duty workout to shake off the weight. To think, I already need to do that much soon then after Christmas! Laura thought to herself in frustration.

With that, she pulled herself out of her head and decided to exercise until the children woke up. By the time both the Bartons and the Baudelaires woke up, it was almost dinner time.

When Violet woke up, she couldn't believe how long she and her siblings slept. Not knowing what to do, she decided to wake up her siblings first.

She went to Klaus's room first. It took a few minutes, but she managed to wake him up.

A sleepy Klaus let out a groan as he muttered "What's the matter?"

"We slept for all of yesterday day." Violet stated in a somewhat scared tone.

"What?!" Klaus uttered as he jumped out of bed.

"It's fine. I'm just worried that we're going to be up all night again." Violet carefully explained.

"Let us be up for a fun reason this time." Klaus stated.

"Well, we're going to have to wake up early even though we'll be hurting like heck tomorrow morning." Violet reminded him.

"It's worth it to me." Klaus answered.

"What do you want to do? Should we try and wake up Sunny?" Violet wondered.

"Might as well, but let's see if the Barton kids are up first." Klaus replied.

With that, Violet and Klaus left Klaus's room and decided to see if any of the Barton kids had gotten up yet. They decided to check on the boy's room first. Klaus knocked on Cooper's bedroom door. A few seconds later, he heard a sleepy Cooper mutter "Morning?"

"Uh, it's 1 am today, after we have slept through all of yesterday." Klaus replied in a deadpan tone.

"What? You're kidding right?" Cooper uttered in shock as he jumped out right out of bed.

"Nope." Klaus answered.

"Excuse me." Cooper loudly replied as he rushed towards his closet and grabbed some clothes.

With a meaningfully look from Cooper, Klaus quickly left the bedroom.

After he managed to get dressed, Cooper opened his bedroom and hurried back inside with a look on his face that was a mixture of shock and embarrassment.

"Don't be embarrassed. We all slept for all of yesterday." Violet assured him.

"I still can't believe that I slept that long." Cooper muttered in disbelief.

"Why don't we see if there's anything downstairs after we wake up Lila and Nathaniel?" Klaus suggested.

Soon after, Violet, Klaus, Sunny and Cooper made their way towards Lila's room and repeated the same thing. Once they had woken up both Lila and Nathaniel, the whole group managed to make their way downstairs towards the kitchen. There they had found Laura already finished her snack and was just about to head towards back upstairs when she noticed that all of the children were now in the kitchen.

"Well, now that you've all realized you reenacted Sleeping Beauty, what do you want to do about it? Do you want to stay up late again and be tried tomorrow when I wake you all up early tomorrow or do you want me to make some warm milk and hope that it helps your sleep cycle go back to normal?"

All of the children nodded their heads in agreement and with that, Laura began to heat up the milk. Once it had cooled down, she poured a glass for each child. When it came to Sunny, she made sure that it wouldn't burn the youngest Baudelaire child. After testing it against her skin, she handed Sunny a glass of warm milk. After each child finished their glass, Laura sent them back to their rooms. When they had left the kitchen, Laura drank her own glass of warm milk and then she made her way back to her bedroom. She climbed into her bed and after setting up her alarm clock soon fell fast asleep. When she was awoken by her alarm clock going off the next day; it was 9 in the morning. Laura smiled as she got up, got dressed and went to wake up the children. First, she woke up the Barton children and then she woke up the Baudelaires. Soon after, she led them all downstairs into the kitchen.

As Laura began to make breakfast for the children, she asked "Did all of you have a good night's sleep?"

All of the Bartons and the Baudelaires nodded their heads in agreement.

"What are we going to do today after breakfast, Mom?" Nathanael asked.

"We're going to do some more shopping and decorating." Laura replied.

"Did you think we will have time to call Dad and talk to him?" He added.

"Maybe." Laura answered.

Once everyone had finished breakfast, all of the children went back upstairs, brushed their teeth, got dressed and made their way downstairs.

Once as they made their way downstairs, Laura got them all into the car and headed towards the grocery store. As Laura drove down the road, she asked "So, what would you guys like to get at the store today?"

"Can we get some blueberries? Apples and other kinds of fruit?" Violet asked with big puppy dog eyes.

Laura smiled as she replied "Of course, we need to get a lot of food for our Christmas party tomorrow."

"We're going to have a Christmas party?" Lila asked with clear excitement in her voice.

Laura once again smiled as she said "Yes, we are."

"Are we going to have turkey with cranberry sauce?" Nathanael questioned.

"Yes, we're going to have all the classic Christmas foods." Laura stated.

"Can we not have pork?" Klaus politely interrupted.

"Oh, I forgot that you guys are Jewish." Laura replied in an apologetic manner before she continued with "Don't worry, I won't get any pork. We'll only get chicken and fish."

Violet, Klaus and Sunny all smiled in approval.

With that, the Bartons and the Baudelaires started their shopping. They had a relatively nice time shopping for all the groceries. By the time they had finished, the cart was almost full. However, they encountered a new problem when they reached the checkout. The line was very long, and it seemed like the ice cream they had brought was going to melt.

As the Bartons and the Baudelaires wondered what to do, Violet attempted to find a solution, by tying her hair back with a ribbon. She looked around the store to see if there was a way to make the line shorter without hurting anyone or causing damage to the products. As her mind began to search for solutions, a cashier called out "This register is open."

With that, Laura, Cooper, Lila, Nathaniel, Violet, Klaus and Sunny quickly made their way towards that register. After they paid for the groceries, they made their way towards their car. As they placed the groceries on the truck of the car, Violet asked "What are we going to do when we get home?"

"We're going to have dinner and watch a Christmas movie and since Hanukkah is coming up, we're going to try and find a Hanukkah movie or at least two specials." Laura explained.

All 3 Baudelaires smiled in thanks at Laura.

Sometime later, when they all returned home and put away the groceries, Laura sat the children down in the living room as she began to look for Hanukkah specials. When she couldn't find any, Laura decided that it was time for a break and focused on making dinner for the children.

As they all ate dinner, Laura took in the sight of the children being so carefree and happy and wished that her husband was here to see this moment.

Laura knew as a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent that missions could last a very long time and she knew that he might not make it home in time for Christmas. Still, she wished that he would make it home in time so he could celebrate the night with them.

However, before she continued to dwell on the matter, Laura was pulled out of her head as she heard Nathaniel ask, "What are we going to have for dessert?"

"Ice cream, of course." Laura answered with a smile.

As soon as she saw that everyone had finished dinner, Laura made her way towards the freezer and pulled out a tub of chocolate and vanilla swirl ice cream with chocolate chips mixed in. Laura soon reached into the nearby cupboard and pulled out four bowls and soon opened a nearby draw. A few seconds later, she had grabbed some spoons and a scoop. With that, Laura began to scoop out the ice cream. In no time at all, the bowls were filled with ice cream and the Bartons and Baudelaires were enjoying their ice cream. As they ate, Laura looked for a single Hanukkah special on her phone. After much searching, she managed to find one, the Baudelaires and the Bartons enjoyed the special and were sad when it came to an end.

"I wish that there were more Hanukkah specials." Violet muttered.

"And I wish that there we had just as many Hanukkah movies as Christmas ones." Klaus added.

"Maybe one day once you guys grow up, you'll have the opportunity to give the world more Hanukkah stories." Lila suggested.

"Thanks, but I plan to become an inventor." Violet answered.

"I want to be a librarian." Klaus stated.

"Ha nop." Sunny jumped in. Which meant "I want to be a cook."

"What did she just say?" Nathaneal inquired as a look of confusion appeared on his face.

"She wants to be a cook." Klaus translated.

"I still don't know how you guys are able to understand her." Cooper uttered in both amazement and bewilderment.

"I still don't know how we do and no one else does." Violet replied.

Not knowing what to say to that, the Bartons and the Baudelaires decided to wish each other good night and get ready for bed.

The next day, Laura came home with a surprise menorah and candles for the Baudelaires.

Violet, Klaus and Sunny were so overjoyed that they rushed over towards Laura and gave her a big group hug.

Later on, the Bartons and the Baudelaires went shopping for latkes and chocolate coins.

As they walked around the store, Lila remarked "I just realized that the last day of Hanukkah falls on Christmas Eve."

"Well, that means Dad better finish his mission fast if he doesn't want to miss both holidays." The youngest of the Bartons muttered.

"Just have faith that he will come home and pray that he does. That's all we can do." Cooper stated in a somewhat sad tone.

Violet, Klaus and Sunny found themselves saddened for the Bartons. They could only hope that they would never experience what they went through.

Then, they resumed joining in the festivities. Klaus taught Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel how to play dreidel and told them the story of how Hanukkah came to be.

"I didn't know that the Greeks tried to force their way of life onto the Hebrews." Nathaniel remarked.

"That shows how little you paid attention in Sunday School." Lila remarked to her younger brother with a teasing smile.

Nathaniel blushed in embarrassment as his older siblings and the Baudelaires laughed.

After several rounds of dreidel, Lila and Violet ended up as the winners through a tie. They split the winnings between them and Violet briefly glanced at the calendar and saw that they only had 7 more days until the last day of Hanukkah and Christmas Eve.

Please come home soon. Violet thought to herself. Soon after, Violet pulled herself out of her head as she did her best to resume enjoying the activities, but time seemed to slow down. Finally, it was time to go to bed.

As the Bartons and Baudelaires made their way back to their rooms, Klaus turned to his older sister and asked "What's wrong? Are you okay? Are you tried?"

Violet nodded her head as she replied, "I'm just worried about the upcoming holidays, that's all."

"But isn't Hanukkah happening right now?" Lila questioned in confusion.

"Yes, but…" Violet started to say, and then Klaus suddenly understood what she was talking about.

"Why don't you guys go to bed first, I need to talk to my older sister in private." He suddenly interrupted as he led both Violet and Sunny in a small corner.

Once he was sure that the Barton children were no longer listening, Klaus turned to Violet and said, "You're worried about Clint, aren't you?"

Violet simply nodded her head.

"I am too and so are the rest of the Barton's, but all we do is hope and pray that he comes home safe." Klaus stated.

"I know, but I just wish that we could do more to help him." Violet replied.

Klaus pulled his older sister into a hug. As Sunny joined in the embrace, Klaus added "So do I, Violet. So do I."

After what seemed to be for a long time, the group hug came to end and the Baudelaires each went back to their rooms and fell asleep.

The next day, the Baudelaires and the Bartons had another fun day. They went to the movies and watched a new movie that had just come out.

After the movie had ended, Laura asked the children "So, what did you guys think of the movie?"

"It was good." Lila answered.

"I hope they make a sequel." Nathanael stated.

"I prefer reading, but each to his or her own." Klaus replied.

"How come you don't like movies?" Cooper wondered.

"I do; I just like books more that's all." Klaus explained.

"What about you, Violet?" Laura questioned as she turned her attention towards the 14 year old girl.

"I thought that the movie was okay." Violet said with a shrug of her shoulders.

Sunny nodded her head in agreement.

"What would you guys like to have for dinner?" Laura asked with a smile.

Sometime later, the two families were enjoying dinner at a local restaurant that was called Vicki's old-fashioned cooking. The service was slow, but the servicers were nice and the food was good.

As Klaus helped himself to his meal of burgers and fries, he asked "How did we not know that this place exists?"

"That's a pretty good question." Violet agreed as she helped herself to her mac and cheese bowl.

Sunny nodded her head in agreement as she ate some fries and little bits of chicken nuggets.

Cooper was also having a meal of burger and fries.

Nathanael also had some chicken nuggets and fries, only the nuggets weren't cut up into little pieces.

Lila had some chicken caesar salad and mac and cheese.

Laura had some salad as well.

Once everyone had finished their meals, they all had different flavors of ice cream for the dessert. After their dessert was finished, Laura took all of the children home and sent them all to bed.

The next day was another day that Christmas Eve was coming closer and the Baudelaires and Barton's were trying to enjoy both Christmas and Hanukkah, but they were starting to get even more worried that Clint wouldn't be able to make it back home in time. However, they were still determined to have a good time, which today meant going to a holiday fair. It not only had a Christmas section, but a Hanukkah section as well.

Much to the Baudelaires dismay, there was a far-right protest against the Hanukkah section, claiming that including it was a part of the war on Christmas.

The Baudelaires all rolled their eyes. They couldn't believe how stupid some people could be.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say this protest against the Hanukkah section was another way to be anti-semetic, only they don't say it out loud." Klaus whispered to his older sister.

Both Violet and Sunny nodded their heads in agreement.

"Eega?" Sunny questioned. Which meant, "Why do they have against Hanukkah and other holidays anyway?"

"I have no idea Sunny. I have no idea." Violet stated.

They did their best to ignore the intolerant folks making a scene at the festival. Still, they managed to have a fun day at the festival. When it was time for the Bartons and the Baudelaires to leave, they had plenty of souvenirs and snacks to take home.

As they made their way back to their van, Laura asked "So what did you guys think of the festival?"

"This was one of the best times of my life." Klaus stated in a gleeful tone.

Sunny was quiet because she was currently eating a holiday themed candy apple.

Nathaniel was also enjoying some hot caramel covered popcorn in a bag.

"Can I have some please?" Lila asked as she turned her attention to her little brother.

Nathaniel nodded his head as Lila took a handful of the treat into her right hand.

"What about you Violet?" Laura inquired as she turned her attention towards the 14 year old.

"I wish my parents were here to see this." Violet sadly muttered as a sad look appeared on her face.

Klaus and Sunny sadly nodded their heads in agreement at their older sister's words.

A look of sympathy appeared on Laura's face as she briefly glanced at them as she drove down the road home.

Sometime later, they were back at the farmhouse and were getting ready for the night. Then, Nathaniel let out a cry of joy as he uttered "Dad's home! Dad's home!"

"What?" Laura, Violet, Klaus, Sunny, Lila and Cooper uttered in shock as they all rushed towards the living room window.

They soon saw a car pulling into the driveway. Once the car had parked, Clint stepped out of the car with a teenage girl who appeared to be a few years older than Violet. She had brown hair that was in a ponytail, matching brown eyes and pale skin.

She introduced herself as Kate Bishop and the family welcomed her into the celebrations of Clint finally being home again.
