Link looked out of his window, glancing out at the sunrise. Zelda was out of bed already, and apparently out of the house, as there was no sign of her anywhere. Link went down the stairs and outside. He breathed in the fresh air, taking in how tranquil his surroundings were.

Hyrule had been peaceful lately, and Link was glad. It had been a whole three years since he had killed Ganondorf for good, and since then the only threats he had to deal with were cuccos and bears. Tame compared to the vicious beasts he had once stared down and had dealt with daily before.

Zelda sat watching the somewhat peculiar sunrise under the tree next to the house. The sunrise was reddish, flecked with magenta and orange. Nothing too unusual, thought Link as he sat down beside the princess.

All was well.

Somewhere in the past, Link was getting a drink at the milk bar late at night.

"Awfully strange sunset tonight, isn't it, Link?" asked the owner.

"Sure is…" said Link, taking a long swig of milk.

Link had been through a lot, defeating the sorcerer Yuga, saving Lorule, and sealing away Ganon. It had been three years ago, he thought. So much time had passed, yet it felt like yesterday that Ravio had set up a shop in his house.

Link chuckled at the memory, remembering his old friend. Surely Lorule was safe in the hands of Hilda and their hero, Ravio.

All was well.

In Hyrule, all was not well with Link.

Despite saving his kingdom twice, monsters still roamed the land and threatened to kill him. He was still nursing a burn from a lynel's fireball. Life had gotten better, but it still wasn't good. It was dangerous to go alone in this land, and Link had learned it first hand.

Back at his house, Link was growing cautious of the red sky. It had not faded, despite it being around 10 AM.

"Do you think something's wrong?" asked Zelda.

"Nah," answered Link, though he wasn't sure he believed himself.

He was very wrong. Because something was very wrong.

Just an hour later, his world would change forever.
