Consciousness had left her for a long while, or so Kagome felt as she began to wake, and her thoughts took on some more coherent shapes. Through her senses, she knew herself comfortable, knew herself wrapped in a pleasant and wholesome feeling.. aside from knowing herself not alone. It was in that instant that her body requested to exists again, in the form of a deep breath, as if she were infusing herself with life.

Then, she opened her eyes… and found him.

Many times, I wonder what dreams hide behind the veil of your eyes. Kagome thought.

InuYasha laid by her side, still sleep and half-turned towards her, his features hidden from the dim light slipping through the window, a scene that invited her gaze to wander, indulging her with the sight of his silver eyelashes, so long their tip could graze the start of his cheeks. His lips were closed, while his breathing seemed swathed in the peace that both of them had been filled with, earlier that day. To her mind came that exact moment, when her gaze caught his figure at the Nakano train station, causing her heart to send out warnings about the emotion running through her veins as if keeping her alive. Her steps had led her to him then, breaking into a sprint before she could even register when, the crowd but an obstacle, an eyesore. A smile curved her lips as she recalled the memory, as she contemplated her own thoughts, feeling once again that bubbling emotion that had been caused by her hand reaching InuYasha's, their fingers intertwining with amazing ease. Time had been too short to think too much about it, after, trapped as she became of those beautiful, glistening golden eyes observing her.

"Hey, you." He had said.

"Hey, you." She had answered.

That exchange was now a sort of special way to greet each other, one that was filled by moments, sensations, yearnings and a confessed love; confessed, yet not in any way less incredible.

Back in the present, Kagome watched how the dawn pierced into the room, its early light bouncing off the bead necklace she had given InuYasha. Her first desire was to touch them, yet she held back, afraid of waking him up. It had been a welcome surprise to find out he still had it with him, back when they found each other again two weeks ago. Recalling it made her place a hand on her own neck, where she felt the pearl hanging from her necklace.

And she felt full, just like she always did when InuYasha was involved.

She closed her eyes, wishing to sleep some more, her figure seeking her partner's naked body, delighting herself in the known warmth. Soon enough, she felt his hand on her hips, holding her in that particular way of his, surrounding her with the whole body.

Kagome smiled then, on InuYasha's chest, finding peace in the expected embrace.

To be continued.

A/N

It's curious how the characters in this story have their own way to be, taking my hand and pulling me along. I love the InuKag of IZON.

I hope you are liking these short fragments, and that you tell me in the comments.
