"C'mon, do it," Kagome urged, her melodic tone allowing him to guess the smile that was about to curl her lips.
"I won't. What for?" Was the answer she received from InuYasha, his gaze locked on her as a smile also threatened to appear on his features.
"InuYasha," she played with every single syllable of his name, in a way he was familiar with; he had heard it many times, and it was hard to resist. Maybe, this moment needed his will to stand strong, for once.
"Answer me, what for?" InuYasha failed at hiding his smile. He turned on the bed, laying on his back while not losing sight of Kagome.
"Oh, you already know that," she said, short of a whisper that brought a soft red to his cheeks, under the delicate light of a lamp.
"No, tell me." It was him now the one whispering, waiting for a confession whose content he already knew.
Kagome sat on the bed, staring at him unceasingly in the same manner he did a moment ago. She smiled at him, flirtatious, as her gaze darted away for an instant, stroking her hair with a hand, giving it volume as she took the chance to let InuYasha see a clear image of her profile and raw neck.
And then, she looked at him.
"I enjoy watching you," she admitted, handing the victory to her boyfriend, who bit his lower lip in an act of pure pleasure; pleasure from the intention he saw in her confession.
Kagome felt tempted, to kiss those lips and claim his breaths as hers by mouthfuls. For a moment, she felt the skin of his heated body touch hers, a sigh escaping her lips, as she tried to hold back her emotions.
"You'll have to wait a moment then, and stop watching me," InuYasha argued, playful.
"I'll survive," Kagome ironized, maybe not as confident as she sounded.
InuYasha sat a bit straighter on the pillow, and did what Kagome was asking for.
"There," he voiced.
Kagome looked at her phone, and found a picture of InuYasha, his torso naked, laying on his bed, all the way in Nakano.
"You said you were completely naked," she retorted, when he came back to the screen.
"And that's true," InuYasha's answer came along a meaningful tone of voice, that tone that could make Kagome feel like her bones were melting.
She sighed, and with it, came her own truth about the whole deal.
"I miss you," her words were slow, as if heavy.
A whole week separated them yet, until they could see each other again.
"I miss you too." The answer was a simple one, almost a cliché, yet InuYasha lacked a better word to describe something as vast and real as what he was feeling.
He also wanted to tell her he was about to get his own apartment, that there was a spot for her in it; but he thought better. Waiting until they were together, until he could embrace her along with his offer, would be best. He smiled, before the idea, and thought in how he wished Kagome to be happy.
"Well, do you want the picture of what's left to see?" He urged her, to bring her out of that silence she would immerse herself in, when emotions were too heavy to bear.
Kagome looked at him for an instant, her eyes shining amused.
"You are taking too long already," she replied, and InuYasha couldn't hold his hearty laugh.
