Chapter 5: Spreading Out

Supergirl is flying over the skies faster than a jet. She smiles while soaring above the clouds in the blue sky. Even during the war and before Brainiac's invasion, she still enjoyed sightseeing, looking at the ocean and hearing the millions of voices all over the world. Even with the divisive opinions of the heroes, Supergirl loves flying around the world when not busy with training or saving the planet.

Kara hovers over Africa. She can hear radio signals coming from one particular spot from high above.

"Batman. I found the signal. I'm about to take a closer look." Kara commed.

"Good. But be careful. We don't know who may be there. Don't land on top of it. Land at a safe distance enough for me to analyze it." Batman replied.

Kara hangs up and boosts downward towards the signal. She remembers Batman's instructions and uses her x-ray vision to find a safe place to hide from any villain she may encounter… but wait. Where are the people that live on the continent? The village seems to be empty. No civilians walking around, no children laughing or playing. And hardly any animals around. Supergirl lands near the bottom of the hills close to Cape Town without being seen. She walks around slowly in the forest, following the signal to the source.

After a few minutes, she hears whimpering and screaming coming from the top of the hills. She heads up there as fast as possible on foot without being seen. As she gets closer, she spots several adults and children tied up to trees. A few of the kids are crying. Kara couldn't stand to see people like this, especially with little children crying. Then, she hears scratching. Kara sees Cheetah, formerly known as Barbara Minvera, scratching each tree with people tied up to them. She growls like an actual animal as she smiles, showing her sharp teeth and wags her tail in a grown up's face. Cheetah chuckles.

"Ah. How I love a good hunt." Cheetah gloated. "Though it doesn't make up for Wonder Woman not being here. I would have loved to gouge her eyes out. And here you all are, believing in gods. Tell me. When you first saw Diana, did you see her as a god?" Cheetah asked a woman tied up. She traces her finger towards her chin and lifts her face up. She smiles as she looks at the fear in this woman's eyes.

"S-someone will come. G-god or not. I am a believer till the end." The woman said as her face dropped tears.

"Is that right? Maybe God can hear you scream in Diana's place." Cheetah grabs the woman's throat and prepares to claw her face off. The woman closes her eyes, ready to accept her fate.

"God. Forgive me." The woman whispered.

Cheetah swings her hand, but is met with a strong blow to the face by Supergirl as she flies over the edge and nearly falls off. Her claws grab the edge and prevent her from falling into the ocean.

With this momentary distraction, Supergirl rushes with her super speed and quickly unties all of the civilians. They all gather around to hug each other. Supergirl could hear Cheetah growling.

"It isn't safe here! Run! I'll stop her!" Supergirl reminds them. All the adults gather their children as they run downhill to find safe places to hide. Supergirl then turns to Cheetah, who has climbed back to the top of the hill.

"Well, well. The Girl of Steel. I was hoping you'd still be alive and joining Batman's club. I didn't get to finish you properly." Cheetah growls at the challenge.

"I'm glad to give you something to look forward to. Been meaning to pay you back for trying to gut me." Kara exclaimed.

"I wonder how Kryptonian blood will taste like. Will it be better than the blood of the woman whose life I want to end so much?" Cheetah asked, while referring to Diana.

"You're out of luck because Diana is far from your reach facing judgment for her crimes. And you are about to get your butt kicked. Or would you rather surrender like a good kitty?" Supergirl taunts.

"No one dares to call me kitty! For that, I will have your heart!" Cheetah said before they fight.

Cheetah runs on all fours, leaps into the air and spins and kicks Kara across the forehead before kicking her in the jaw with both feet, stumbling her. Cheetah jumps and rolls and delivers two strong kicks, but Kara blocks with both arms before grabbing both ankles and throwing her into a tree. Kara comes in and throws a punch, only for Cheetah to move and causing Supergirl to punch a hole in the tree. Cheetah swipes at Supergirl, who dodges and does a backhand strike followed by a punch to the face and a knee strike to her gut before using her superbreath to blow her back. Cheetah climbs a nearby tree and disappears.

Supergirl tries to look for her as she jumps from tree to tree, but each time she turns around, Cheetah strikes her with her claws, causing a little blood to spill before jumping back into the trees again. Kara forgot that Cheetah's claws are magical and can hurt kryptonians. Supergirl remembers her training and closes her eyes and relies on her super hearing. Cheetah leaps out of the tree behind Kara to strike, but Supergirl grabs Cheetah by her hand and neck and punches her in the face, sending her flying. Cheetah breaks through several tree barks, injuring her badly

"Good kitty." Supergirl joked before she flies towards the machine. It appears to be some strange satellite dish. And it is firing some sort of beam into space, But where exactly? And why?

"Batman. You seeing this?" Kara asked.

"Yes. This energy coming from the satellite is very strange. I'll have Brother Eye trace it to where it is going based on its last known trajectory. Whatever it is, it's not Earth based. For now, feel free to destroy it."Batman said.

Before Supergirl could do anything, she hears something zooming her way. Before she could ask, something grabs her by the throat and throws her down to the ground as this being runs downhill while holding her with a tight grip. At the bottom of the hill, Supergirl is thrown into another tree. She shakes her head and stands up and faces….. Flash?!

"Barry?! What the hell are you doing?!" Kara assumed.

"You mistake me for my archenemy. My name is Eobard Thawne. But you may call me Reverse-Flash. I was part of Grodd's Society ever since your cousin murdered my ancestor. And Barry was part of the Regime back then." Reverse-Flash corrected her.

"So, you're the one who murdered his mother out of cold blood. Barry told me about you. You drew first blood and now you're mad at Superman killing your ancestor. How hypocritical can you be?" Kara questioned.

"But he's not trapped like I am. So I'm gonna return the favor. I was expecting him, but you'll do. There's more than what I just did to you. I can do worse." Reverse-Flash remained confident.

"Heh. You'll be lucky enough to tickle me." Supergirl replied.

"Then I'll make you laugh." Reverse-Flash said before they fight.

Reverse-Flash comes up to Supergirl and delivers three knee strikes to the chest, which Kara blocks before she does three low kicks to his legs, a punch across the jaw before grabbing his head and throwing him down. Eobard quickly moves out of the way and avoids a punch from Kara and throes dozens of rapid punches to her face and body before delivering a strong kick to the gut, sending her flying. Supergirl regains her stance in the air, but Reverse-Flash dashes to where Supergirl is and runs in a small circle and creates a tornado in hopes that the Girl of Steel will be blown away. Supergirl flies straight down to the ground and gives a strong punch to the surface, and Eobard is sent into the air instead. Supergirl launches at Reverse-Flash, both fists in front of her and goes straight for his chest. Reverse-Flash screams in pain as he is sent flying through an empty wooden house and is knocked out cold.

"You make me roll my eyes. And FYI, get a better supervillain name." Kara roasts him before she flies back uphill and sees the satellite dish still active. She uses her heat vision on it and after several seconds, it explodes.

"Sorry for the hold up. Had to deal with a couple of crooks. Cheetah and a guy named Eobard Thawne." Kara reported.

"Strange that those two are working together after the Society disbanded. But I have a feeling they're not alone. For now, come back to base. I managed to uncover where the signal was going to." Batman tells her.

Kara nods. Before she takes off, a little girl approaches her from behind. Kara sees this and smiles.

"You're safe now. The bad guys won't hurt you anymore." Kara smiles.

"You saved my mommy. Thank you." The little girl thanks her. Before the Girl of Steel could say anything, the mother who almost fell victim to Cheetah, grabs her daughter and looks at Kara and her symbol with fear and anger in her eyes as she walks away with the girl in her arms. Kara now feels sad about it. She hasn't forgotten that everyone fears the symbol she wears ever since her cousin's corruption. She flies off without saying a single word.

Barry Allen is running with his amazing super speed. The Flash is running throughout the United States. Fortunately, Bruce Wayne decided to lift his parole by allowing him to use his superspeed so he no longer has to worry about being arrested and has since been forgiven. He is tracing one of the four signals Wayne has pointed out.

"Bruce. I'm approaching the signal. It's coming from Arkham City. Maybe some of your old pals are joining up again for a reunion." Flash reported.

"That doesn't surprise me. I have a hunch they're also from the Society. Be careful, we don't know who we're up against." Batman replied.

"Roger that." Flash said before he dashed into Arkham City.

His wrist comm is detecting the beacon closer and closer to an abandoned laboratory. Flash walks in and can't seem to find anyone around. Then he hears someone screaming. He dashes down the stairs to find who is screaming….. Only to find nobody there. He sees a bunch of chemicals being put together, some of them bubbling and ready to go. It appears that someone has been down here recently. Not only that, their whole floor is covered in grass and flowers. Big flowers. All surrounded by thorny vines. And right in front of him, there was an old tape recorder, which turns off.

"What the hell is this?" Flash asked. Then all of a sudden, his arms and legs were suddenly trapped by a bunch of vines. He struggles to pull away, but the vines only tighten their grip. Then he looks up at the ceiling and sees green gas coming down and he tries to cover his mouth, but the gas ends up going up his nose anyway. His head began aching incredibly bad. Then… there was nothing but darkness.

Barry stands up and tries to find some light, but no matter where he goes, he feels like he is stuck in one place. And what's worse is he doesn't have his speed to help him. He hears a voice calling out to him. Then, he sees someone ahead. A woman whose back was turned. Someone Barry recognized. His ex-wife Iris West.

"Iris? Iris!" Barry runs up to her. And then she turns around with an angry expression on her face.

"What the hell are you doing here? You got some nerve showing up after all the shit you've done!" Iris yelled.

"I'm sorry. I really am. I shouldn't have done the things I shouldn't have done." Barry replied with a very sad apologetic look on his face.

"I don't believe you! It's been years. YEARS! You turned against me, sided with Superman! He killed my parents! You broke your code and killed that King Shark guy! And you put me in prison against my own will! For five years!" Iris shouted, tears dropping.

"It was for your own protection! But I began to see I was wrong to do that to you." Flash defends himself.

"My own protection? Or yours? To protect yourself from Superman's wrath? You're no better than your father who rotted in prison! You're no better than your Regime friends! You can go to hell for all I care!" Iris finished before walking away.

"Iris, wait!" Flash tries to grab her, but she turns into smoke upon physical contact and causing the speedster to trip.

When he looks up, he finds himself in his old home. He looks around and kicks something. He looks down and sees his mother's dead body lying on the floor and covered in blood. She lies motionlessly with her eyes closed. Barry turns and sees his father arrested for the crime he seemingly committed. Barry reaches for his dad, only to be transported once more to a graveyard covered in green fog. He sees his mother and father's tombstones while all of his friends look at Flash in disgust as they all walk away.

"There's nowhere for you to go. No one trusts you now. They live to fear you. And yet, you continue to persist that you have changed. That you're a hero." Scarecrow pops out from within the fog.

"You son of a bitch. You don't know anything about me." Flash claimed.

"Don't I? Then tell me. Why do you fail to save those you love? You only succeed in driving them away from you. You're afraid that you'll never regain everyone's trust." Scarecrow corrected him.

"I don't try to regain anyone's trust. I try my best to be fast." Flash said.

"Is that right? Well then, it looks like you'll have better luck in your next life." Scarecrow finished. He chuckled as he stepped back.

A big flower rises up from the grass and it opens up with a huge spike coming from it. Flash sees this and begins vibrating his arms and legs. He vibrates long enough to finally break free from the vines and lean his head backwards before the spiked flower could impale him in the head.

Another big flower comes up from within the ground and it opens. Poison Ivy does a pose and smiles. As she steps down from her plant, her feet touch the ground, leaving more flowers wherever she goes. Flash realizes that both Scarecrow and Poison Ivy are both back and teaming up once again.

"Surprised to see you two teaming up together of all people. A guy who uses toxic gas and a crazy green woman who has plant-like powers." Flash shrugged.

"Don't be so dramatic, speed boy. We only wanted to even the odds." Poison Ivy said.

"What? So you're saying that pretty much everyone is back. You know that Grodd is dead, right?" Flash reminded them. He has since been told about his death at Aquaman's hands.

"He served his purpose. That's what he gets when he trusts someone who doesn't go with their word. So naughty." Poison Ivy pets her flowers as they shake and stand and hiss like snakes.

"Well that doesn't surprise me. You only got away because we had bigger fish to fry. But now you're gonna get it." Flash prepares to fight them both.

"Well then. I think it's time we teach you a lesson in manners." Poison Ivy said. They're ready to take the Flash down.

Poison Ivy throws her arms into the air to summon vines covered in thorns to swing at Flash like whips. He avoids them with his super speed, but he can't find a way to close the gap. He sees Scarecrow swinging his sickle attached to a chain, ready to strike at Flash. The speedster grabs the chain and spins in place, swinging Scarecrow into the vines and knocking them away. One root rises from the ground and grab's Flash by the ankles. Poison Ivy throws Flash through the ceiling, breaking it and a wall and he lands on the streets. Flash shakes it off as he stands up, ready to fight back.

Ivy and Scarecrow jump upwards, both enjoying the fight so far. Flash runs forward, but Ivy plants another root that trips Flash, causing Scarecrow to attack. He punches Flash across the face, a kick to his right leg, a crane kick to his nose before blasting him backwards with his fear blast. Flash is sent rolling backwards. He looks up, only to be met with the metal part of the chain sickle striking him across the face and chest before it is slammed on top of his head, sending him down. Part of Flash's face is covered in blood. He tries to get up, but he is forced to his knees as his hands and feet are once again trapped. He vibrates his entire body and breaks free. The speedster was not gonna go down easily. He sees Scarecrow's sickle coming towards his face. Flash sidesteps out of the way and once more dashes toward him and this time, he jumps over a root Ivy planted and throws two punches to the face followed by a backhand strike and does three fast kicks to the face, sending Scarecrow upwards towards the roof of the same building they were in.

Flash, using his speed, avoids Ivy's attacks, jumps off of her head and runs up the building, dashing past Scarecrow and they both land on the roof. Scarecrow is dazed, allowing Barry to grab his sickle chain and runs around him and within seconds, he is completely tied to his own chain and he couldn't move. Flash uses this chance to give him a strong kick to the chest, knocking him into the satellite dish, breaking it off and knocking Scarecrow unconscious.

"Well. That's one freak down. One to go." Flash said. He looked down from the building, but Ivy was nowhere to be seen. "Where did she go?"

Barry Allen looks around for Poison Ivy, but she has apparently vanished. She is not on the streets. But regardless, his mission has been fulfilled. He was told that Ivy sometimes doesn't work well with others. Normally it depends on her mood.

"Bruce? You there? Their machine is broken. But Ivy got away. Scarecrow here is taking a nap." Flash reported.

"Scarecrow and Ivy working together. That's actually surprising. For now, we might be able to find out more info from Scarecrow and what their plan is. Bring him back to the Batcave." Batman replied.

Flash looks at Scarecrow's unconscious body and shivers. He's very reluctant to bring him back for interrogation after what he put him through regarding his love life and family. But given that this is the only way they can get a lead on something, Flash concedes and dashes back to base, with Scarecrow in tow.

Over the cold skies of snowy Michigan, Hal Jordan is observing any signs of movement of their enemies that were part of the Society. He has missed being able to fly around freely without a care in the world and he has grown to ignore those who still fear him. But he has since redeemed himself when the guardians gave him a second chance.

But he is still struggling with controlling the rage within him, trying to keep Atrocitus, the leader of the Red Ring Lanterns from corrupting and controlling him. Even assistance from the guardians were having a difficult time helping him. The more rage he feels, his chances of losing control increases. He has taken meditation lessons on controlling his emotions, but he still can't help but think about the family he lost at Brainiac's hands. And Atrocitus is aware of it. All of the things that Hal has gone through during and after his time as a Yellow Lantern.

For now, he is focusing on the mission. To find the signal as well as Deadshot and Captain Cold. It would make sense for those two to work together, given Deadshot's specialty in weaponry and Cold's cryokinesis and cold weapon building. And both of them have master marksmanship skills. Batman could already imagine what damage those two would do if they combined their skills together.

"I wish they'd use some other place warmer. Lowlifes are always making the worst possible choices. And Floyd Lawton and Leonard Snart are no different." Green Lantern said.

"Don't get distracted. Still. It doesn't make any sense for those two to rebuild the Legion. Lawton is a bounty hunter. Perhaps chances are someone else may be involved." Batman replied.

"I know. But still. They'd probably make the same mistake as they did with joining the gorilla lord and Brainiac. Who knows? Maybe this guy will come out like a man." Green Lantern said. He is pointing his ring and using its powers to find the wanted criminals.

Hal sees a strange beam coming from below and flies down to investigate where it's coming from. He spots an abandoned factory and uses his ring to look through it. It's Deadshot and Captain Cold. And they are operating a machine just like Flash and Supergirl.

"Well, well. Today is my lucky day. Bad spot for just two bad guys." Green Lantern smirked.

As he draws closer, he also sees something. He spots some sort of turret attached to the roof of the factory. There's four on each corner. One of them closest to Hal looks up and it fires a big missile. It locked onto Hal Jordan. He thinks fast and uses his ring to trap the missile within a sphere. But it wasn't enough. The missile exploded and suddenly, there was ice coming out of it rather than a heated explosion. It was loud and strong enough to break through the barrier and knock Hal out of the sky. He yells in pain as he falls. His vision began to feel blurry as he fell in the thick, cold snow and knocked out. He lays motionlessly on the ground as he finally blacks out.

"Hal? Can you hear me? Hal!" Batman called out. But there was no response.

Hours later, Hal comes to. He finds himself hung up by his wrists and ankles. His vision was blurry and he heard machines grinding and some heat going on. Sparks going on and off. His vision becomes clear as he sees Captain Cold on his left looking at blueprints for possible new weapons. They look like pistols, rifles, machine guns, and even the turrets that he saw earlier before being shot down.

To his right he sees Deadshot assembling some of the weapons from the blueprints. One of them appears to be a modified sniper. He cocks it and aims it at a practice dummy. He fires it straight at its head and it freezes from the inside out. He takes another shot, this time at the chest and it shatters to pieces like glass.

"We were wondering if you were still alive, Jordan." Deadshot noticed without looking. He turns around and he and Cold approach him. "Luckily for you, that missile was only a work in progress."

"And lucky for us, you're our first test subject. Shame. I was hoping for Flash. But you will do since you're both bffs again. Enjoyed your fall from the sky in the freezing cold snow?" Captain Cold mockingly asked.

"I've been through worse than that. Literally. I'm not surprised you'd still be around, Cold. But you, Deadshot? Forgot you have a daughter to take care of?" Hal questioned the latter.

"My ex-wife caught on to my work with Gorilla Grodd. Wants nothing to do with me and refuse to let me see my girl Zoe. I'm a wanted man. I tried to get this bomb outta my head, but someone else has some use for me." Deadshot explained. He tightens his fist in anger and looks away, not wanting anyone to see his sad eyes.

"I know you didn't have a choice. But you can still be a better man. I lost my family because of Brainiac. You're lucky you still have yours. Look. If you can get me out of these chains, we can work things out." Hal offered.

"And you forgot the fact that I lost my sister and friends. Because of Flash, Superman and Wonder Woman. And if memory serves, you were all yellow back then." Cold pointed out. Hal grunted in annoyance. If anything, he hates to be reminded of the actions he has done as Yellow Lantern.

"I'm not that guy anymore. You think I was let off so easily? I went through hell and back to redeem myself. Your sister did not deserve to suffer. But you gotta tell me who is leading the Legion." Hal Jordan said to them.

"And what? Rat us out to Batman and his new kryptonian friend? Hard, cold pass. Besides, our new boss offered us something that Grodd and Brainiac could not. But sadly, you won't be around to see it." Captain Cold walks up to Green Lantern and grabs his jaw. He holds out what appears to be an ice grenade. "Oh, how I could watch you shake in pain as your insides become innard popsicles. But, we have another idea."

Captain Cold steps back. Deadshot holds up his wrist and small sawblades spin. "Your ring could prove to be essential to our boss's plan."

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Trust me, it won't go well." Green Lantern warned them.

"Oh, I think we will take our chances." Cold smirked.

Deadshot placed his hand on Lantern's right wrist and slowly brings his other hand close to where his ring hand is, intending to slice it off, and leave him bleeding to death.

"Any last words?" Deadshot asked. Hal had to think fast. So he could only escape with only one thing. The Green Lantern's oath.

"In brightest day, in blackest night. No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power! Green Lantern's light!" Hal repeats the oath. A bright, green light happens and Deadshot and Captain Cold are blasted backwards. They get back up and they see Green Lantern hovering above them. He is now free from his restraints.

"I warned you. You underestimate the power of the Green Lantern. Now, before I start kicking ass, who is your boss? Somebody we know?" Hal asked.

"Let's just say he's more brilliant than you think." Captain Cold said. He and Deadshot lock and load before they begin to fight Green Lantern, ready to kill him.

Captain Cold fires his two cryo pistols at Green Lantern, who easily blocks them when his ring generates a steel shield. He flies towards Cold and bashes him to the ground. Deadshot fires several rounds at all parts of Lantern's body, but his shield easily blocks them all after it grows bigger. When Deadshot stops, Green Lantern drops the shield and flies towards him. Hal delivers a kick to Deadshot's right shin, a punch to the face and then a kick to the chest. Green Lantern then uses his ring to lift the sniper in the air and throws him down to the ground behind him.

Captain Cold comes in and kicks Lantern in the head and does two punches to both of his ribs before finally kicking him across the head and he nearly hits a wall, but his ring stops the impact and he flies in the air. Both Deadshot and Captain Cold both fire at him with their weapons set to rapid fire. Green Lantern drops a giant, green big rig truck to block their shots. It moves forward like a real truck, forcing the two to jump and separate to avoid being run over. Deadshot and Captain Cold ready their respective rocket launchers and they both fire at the same time. They both collide with Green Lantern at the same time and there was smoke covering nearly the entire ceiling.

When the smoke cleared, there was a big hole in the roof. And Hal Jordan was nowhere to be seen. "Well. That outta teach him." Captain Cold smirked.

"Even superpowers are no match for powerful weaponry. Even a Green Lantern should know better than to use his imaginary ring powers to stop us." Deadshot replied.

But then all of a sudden, Green Lantern comes crashing through the roof, surrounded by a green sphere that protects him. It wears off as he stares down at them.

"You finished showing off your toys? Good. Now it's my turn." Green Lantern said. He lifts his ring hand in the air and a giant gatling gun appears. "If I were you, I'd leave. Right now."

Green Lantern flies back out and fires his gatling gun at all directions on top of the building, disabling and destroying each of the ice missile turrets. Then he sees the next satellite dish standing in the middle of the rooftop. He flies down and changes his gatling gun to a big, green axe and chops in half like it was simply wood. Deadshot and Captain Cold retreat on the former's motorcycle. But before Green Lantern could chase after them, he is suddenly knocked down by a car. He lands in the snow once again, but this time manages to stay awake.

"Ow. What in the freaking….." Hal was confused as he shook his head to shake off the injuries. He looks up and sees a mysterious figure.

A face he has not seen before. It was a man floating in the air. He is wearing a cyan, metal armor, nearly covering him from head to toe except for his face. His helmet has two medium-sized horns pointing straight up and wearing a purple cape.

"Okay? This is new to me. A guy in a cheap, retro costume like it was taken from a kid's show." Hal commented.

"You'd do well to mind your tone, Green Lantern. Consider that a warning." The mysterious man said.

"A warning? You're making it sound personal and yet I don't know anything about you. But your voice sounds familiar." Hal Jordan claimed.

"You may call me… Doctor Polaris. You may have forgotten me, but I could never forget you, Hal Jordan." Polaris introduced himself. He lives his hands and suddenly, more turrets similar to the ones Deadshot and Cold built came flying down. "Perhaps this will jog your memory."

Two missiles fire at Hal. But this time he was prepared. He uses his ring and summons a big baseball bat and swings both of them away and towards the turrets, destroying them, but Polaris flies above the explosion without any harm done to him.

"Controlling metal? That's not new to me." Hal said.

"Now you're catching on. I'd like to stay and chat, but I have other plans. I promise that we will meet again, Lantern." Polaris said before flying off. Hal contacts Batman about the mission.

"Batman? You there? Sorry about that. There have been a couple of setbacks." Hal told him.

"What happened?" Batman asked.

"Got sucker punched and taken prisoner. But Cold and Deadshot escaped without their dish. And I ran into someone named Doctor Polaris. That name sounds awfully familiar. And his powers appear to be magnetic." Hal explained the situation.

"I got a read on him. I have built-in cameras through your comms. It'll take a while before I can find out who he is and what his real identity is. Chances are he may be responsible for the Legion's formation." Batman guessed.

"Possibly. But who knows? He may also be responsible for these machines that me, Barry and Kara found so far." Hal said. He notices his ring started beeping and glowing green. It was a coded message. He reads it carefully. "Hey, I might not be on Earth for a while. All the Green Lantern Corp has been called back to Oa. Our good friend Diana and her ally Adam are gonna have their trial. I can't miss it."

"Understandable. Let us know how it goes." Batman gives him the go ahead.

Hal Jordan flies off into space with his ring protecting him. Batman watches from the batcave and sighs with sadness. He still wished that Diana could see the error of her ways for her actions, including goading Superman into taking over the world. But he knows that she and Adam are dangerous beings no matter where they go. He could only hope she doesn't suffer a terrible fate.

Unknown to him, he is secretly followed by an alien ship in stealth mode. One that resembles one of the ships from Brainiac's fleet. But inside, it was Damian Wayne, the new Nightwing and Cyborg. Both of them are piloting the ship.

"They're in for a surprise of their lives. They won't know what will hit 'em until it's too late." Damian said.

"Yeah. Even the Green Lantern troops aren't smart enough like we are. But I do have my doubts about this plan of yours. You sure this will work, Damian?" Cyborg asked.

"I'm sure. The League of Assassins trained me not just in different fighting styles, but in elite stealth too. You saw footage of them taking away that meteorite?" Nightwing replied.

"Yeah. I analyzed it and know what it is. It'll definitely be heavily guarded. Batman had the right idea of not keeping it on Earth." Cyborg said.

"Bruce may be a genius, but he made a mistake of not taking everyone accountable. I'm smarter than how I look. And he thinks I'm not smart enough to see the bigger picture." Damian said.

"We all see the picture, Dwayne." Cyborg looks at him. "But I want to see your dad's face when he realizes how f'ed he'll be when we're through with him." Cyborg smirked, causing Damian to snicker slightly.

"Oh you're telling me. He takes the fun out of everything and everyone. But no more. It's his turn to be outsmarted, not us. Been meaning to pay him back for planting a virus in me. Real asshole." Cyborg said in disgust.

"Doesn't trust anyone but himself nowadays. Circle of trust my ass." Damian said.

"On that we can agree." Cyborg nodded as they continued to follow Hal in secret.

Unbeknownst to them, Darkseid is observing and watching them through Cyborg's red eye. He sits motionlessly on his throne in complete silence, watching their every move. He smirks.

Note: For how these DC characters fight, I wanted to make things be more off the ground compared to the Mortal Kombat characters, like with Supergirl and Reverse Flash for example. Batman was my favorite to use in both games.
