Job Well-Done

Meanwhile, Mia was still scrambling desperately through the collapsing Senate building as she desperately searched for Raven and Jania in the wreckage.
"Raven! Jania!" the Agent called out again as loud as she could. Then Mia heard a grunt nearby in a pile of rubble and when she got closer, after pushing debris out of the way, she could distinctly see Raven's lightsaber lying on the floor. Mia picked the hilt up and then spotted an arm that was barely visible under the rubble, "Raven?" she asked as she dropped to her knees and tried to move the pieces of collapsed ceiling off her friends.
"Mia, wait," Raven groaned in pain as the rubble shifted dangerously and the Agent stopped, "Jania?" he asked, trying to locate where the other Jedi Knight was and waited but when there was no response he knew that she was unconscious.
"Raven, can you use the Force to lift it?" Mia asked desperately, she knew that if they remained stuck for much longer her friends would be more worse off for wear.
"I can try," Raven replied as he raised his hand above the ground slightly with his palm facing up and curled fingers slightly. The debris groaned as it moved slightly and then it was lifted about a metre off the ground, "Grab Jania," he ordered through gritted teeth.
Mia crawled under the rubble slightly and proceeded to drag Jania out carefully as Raven tried to get on his knees to crawl out. Unfortunately, the Jedi Knight didn't get far though as he groaned in pain and fell back down with the debris piling back on top of him.
"Raven!" Mia yelled as she ran forward, "Are you okay?" she asked with deep concern.
Raven groaned in pain, "I'm fine, I think I just have a broken leg."
"Last I checked that doesn't define the word 'fine'," Mia scolded in frustration.
"I've had worse, where is Rexan?" Raven asked as he realised his Padawan Learner was supposed to be in the foyer.
"He's safe," Mia reassured him softly, "We'll have to wait for the rescue crew," she added.
"That's alright, check Jania over," Raven requested.
Mia turned to the other Jedi Knight who was still unconscious, "She got a nasty hit on the head, that's for sure," she revealed upon closer inspection, "But she is breathing, unsteadily which is a sign that she probably has a broken rib or something," she explained.
"That's good," Raven said softly as he felt his eyes start to close.
"Oh no, you don't! Keep talking Raven," Mia ordered as she turned her attention back to Raven who was still stuck under the rubble.
"I'm trying but I can't stay awake," Raven groaned as his eyes started to shut slowly even though he was trying to fight unconsciousness.
At that moment, Mia found herself surrounded by Jedi Knights, Daly and Kai were calling out to their friend as Kayli and Ashlyn helped Mia to her feet before carrying Jania out of the building with Mia close behind them. After a few minutes, Raven and Jania were on stretchers ready to be taken to the Jedi Temple in a small medical shuttle with the others.
Mia walked over to Rexan as Sabine approached her old friend.
"I'll take you back to the Temple Rexan," Mia said and the young teen nodded his head as the Agent lead the way over to one of the speeders.
"I think I might tag along too," Sabine revealed, "I've never been inside the Jedi Temple before," she added with excitement.
"I'm sure the Jedi Council won't mind," Mia said as she got into the driver seat and they took off into the Coruscanti traffic. It did not take very long for them to arrive at their destination and once they arrived in the West hangar Rexan led the way to the medical bay where he knew his Master would be.
"Pretty skittish kid, isn't he?" Sabine asked in slight amusement.
"He's just worried about his Master, Raven and Rexan are pretty close with each other," Mia explained.
"I'll never understand the bonds between Jedi Knights and their Padawans," Sabine stated in slight awe.
"Padawans rely heavily on their Masters for everything," Mia explained, "So when their Master gets injured like this it's usually pretty devastating for the Padawan," she added.
"Would you both stop talking about me as if I can't hear anything that you're saying?" Rexan demanded angrily as he approached the group who were waiting outside the medical bay.
Sabine raised her eyebrows slightly in surprise of the outburst, "Feisty little guy," she muttered.
Mia chuckled, "Yes, Rexan is certainly a snappy character at the best of times. Don't worry, he's just met you and is preoccupied with Raven being injured," she explained as she watched Quinlan Vos led Rexan inside the medical bay to go see his Master.
Ashlyn approached them at that point, "What exactly happened at the Senate building Mia?" she asked in concern.
"There was an intruder trying to assassinate the Senators," Mia answered, "It was the Imperial Agent from Lola Sayu," she added.
"Well, that's deeply concerning," Ashlyn mumbled as her thoughts seemed to drift elsewhere and then they snapped back to the present, "Anyways, I don't believe we have met," she added as she turned to Sabine.
The Mandalorian took her helmet off to reveal a tanned complexion, round brown eyes and her multicoloured hair resembled a flame (red, orange and yellow) so that she wasn't rude and introduced herself with her face showing, instead of hiding it, "Sabine Wren."
"It's nice to meet you, my name is Ashlyn Dubreas," Ashlyn introduced herself politely, "Mia should be able to introduce you to everyone," she added in reassurance.
"I already see some familiar faces but that would be nice," Sabine said as they rejoined the group and it wasn't long before she the Mandalorian was well acquainted with everyone, even re-acquainted with a few familiar faces.
"Sabine," Ancor squeaked as his cheeks blushed slightly, surprised to find her in the Jedi Temple let alone on Coruscant and then he coughed as he stood up straighter to make himself look bigger as he remembered some of Gilgaro's advice, "Hi," he added in a deep voice as he leaned in closer only to slip on the smooth tiled floor.
Sabine looked at Ancor awkwardly as everyone else gave their friend weird looks in confusion as to why Ancor was suddenly trying to replicate Gilgaro and before the young Mandalorian Warrior had a chance to respond the Smuggler decided to step in.
"Well hello there Sabine, long time no see," Gilgaro flirted in what he thought was a romantic gesture was shortly followed by a dangerous glare and sharp elbow in the gut from the young Mandalorian. The rest of the group chuckled lightly at the amusing scene that was playing out in front of them as the Smuggler earned a scoff of disgust and another elbow to the gut from Inoma. Then Sabine casually walked over to stand next to Mia and leaned against the wall, whispering something to her that clearly only Mia understood as she laughed and nodded in agreement.

After an hour of waiting outside the medical bay, Quinlan Vos came out to reassure everyone that Jania and Raven were on the mend.
"How is Rexan taking it?" Ashlyn asked about one of the youngest members of the group.
"I will be watching over him while Raven is healing," Master Vos reassured her calmly, "Otherwise he will just hide away in there until his Master is cleared to leave."
Ashlyn nodded slightly in agreement and then left the group with Daly as the two of them walked away to who knows where.

After five days of travel through Hyperspace, Lazarn finally landed on the planet of Lothal and it wasn't long before he was back in Hyperspace en route to Dromund Kaas on his own ship. There was another three days of Hyperspace travel ahead of him but the Agent decided to contact the Sith Empress to inform her that he would be arriving back on the capital planet of the Empire soon so that she would be ready to receive his report. Lazarn imputed the contact for the throne room into his holoterminal and only had to wait a few minutes before the call was answered.
"Agent Brightvale, the Empress has been expecting your call," the servant stated and then it was transferred through to Jaira herself.
"Empress," Lazarn greeted wholesomely and he bowed slightly before standing to attention.
"I hope you have good news for me Agent," Jaira said in curiosity.
"The mission overall was a success my Lord, I would like to wait until I arrive to give you the full report though," Lazarn explained briefly, "I just wished to inform you that I am en route to Dromund Kaas from Lothal right now and will arrive in three days."
Jaira nodded in approval, "I look forward to hearing your report Agent," she said as the holocall ended and Lazarn was left to his own thoughts for the next three days of seemingly endless Hyperspace. The Imperial Agent took the time to clean his sniper rifle and look through the recordings that Sparx had collected whilst keeping the Holonet playing so as to determine how many of his targets had been successfully assassinated.

Three days passed and by the time Lazarn landed on Dromund Kaas he knew the precise number of targets that were dead. Only four out of forty of his targets had survived which he saw as a success and he was confident that the Empress would be happy with the results; especially with the success of the side mission objective being achieved. Shortly after getting cleared to land his ship in the spaceport the Imperial Agent found himself waiting outside the throne room for his audience with the Empress. Then he entered boldly as the doors opened to admit him to find the Sith Empress sitting on her throne and Zromkiar sitting at her feet.
"Agent Brightvale, how good it is to see you back," Jaira greeted warmly, "How many targets were assassinated?" she asked eagerly.
"Only four Senators out of the list of forty managed to survive," Lazarn informed her proudly.
Zromkiar scoffed, "That is nothing to be proud of."
"Now, now Zromkiar," Jaira scolded softly causing the Force Born to become silent and then she turned back to the Agent as she gestured for him to continue with his report.
Lazarn gave her the full rundown of what occurred during his mission, deliberately leaving out the secret objective the Empress had given him.
"Very good, that will leave the Republic scrambling for several months. Excellent work Agent," Jaira congratulated Lazarn on a job well done.
"As ever, it is an honour to serve you, Empress," Lazarn stated.
"Now Zromkiar, I'm sure you have other duties to attend to," Jaira said to the eldest Force Born member.
"Yes my Lord," Zromkiar confirmed as he rose to his feet and bowed before leaving the throne room swiftly.
Jaira waited until they were alone, "Now did you manage to obtain the intel I requested?" she asked eagerly.
"Yes, the droid you gave me followed the Jedi Knight in question for a couple of days and recorded everything," Lazarn revealed as the droid detached from the charging station and floated towards the Empress.
"Excellent, I will look through the recordings to see if it holds what I am looking for," Jaira said as she took the disc that Sparx handed to her with one of his claws, "Off you go little friend," she shooed the droid away.
"Is there anything else you needed from me, Empress?" Lazarn asked.
"No, you are free to go back to your duties Agent," Jaira said in dismissal and Lazarn bowed before leaving the throne room with Sparx floating along behind him.
Now that the Sith Empress was alone she approached the holoprojector and inserted the disc so as to watch the recording. After several hours of watching the Jedi Knight's daily routine, she could not determine whether the girl that had somehow captured her twin brother's love was pregnant or not.
"Very well, it seems that I will have to wait a while longer for my brother to get busy," Jaira stated as she ended the recording and slipped the disc into her belt, "I will not allow him to keep my nephews and nieces from their heritage," she scolded as the Empress stormed off to her private chambers where she knew the disc would be safe from prying eyes.
