Let's get this chapter going, shall we?

Chapter 8: Ash vs. Trip The 6v6 battle

"Human Speech"

"Pokemon Speech"

We join our heroes as they head back to the nearby Pokemon center after hearing Snivy's story about how abusive her trainer was to her, hoping to get her arm better. If not, at least the pain would go away for her and Ash to report Amelia to the Pokemon league about this abuse with Ash's recordings of what Snivy said about her former trainer.

Ash ran inside the Pokemon center, much to the surprise of Nurse Joy. "Yes, how may I help you," Nurse Joy was about to continue her sentence when she noticed Snivy and how bad her arm was. Audino took her to intensive care to treat Snivy of that wound.

"Before you go off on me, this is the same Snivy reported missing/abandoned by her trainer in the league files. Snivy had a good reason why she left Amelia. She abuses her Pokemon when things don't go her way. Snivy here got the brunt of it all because of an Everstone," Ash explained to Nurse Joy while also showing the recordings, especially of what Snivy had said to her, who knew precisely who Amelia was.

"Don't worry about it. I'll get her all healed up to the best that I can. You can wait out here while we do so, please?" Nurse Joy asked Ash, who nodded to Nurse Joy in understanding. Ash waited in the waiting room for Snivy to get better. While doing so, he was thinking about what Snivy had said. And how much Amelia had done to Snivy in a short time.

A few hours had passed, and not much was said about Snivy's condition, yet as someone entered the Pokemon center doors, it was Trip. "Huh? Hey Ash, I'm surprised to see you here. I would think that you'd be at Nacrene City by now?" Trip Asked Ash, who shook his head at this.

"Hey, Trip, yeah, I've run into a very injured Snivy that just joined my team whose been with a very abusive trainer," Ash Said to Trip, who was taken aback by hearing this.

"How bad are her injuries, Ash?" Trip asked, concerned that he may want a strong team but would never abuse his Pokemon.

"A very massive scar down her right arm. It looked very deep," Ash said to Trip, who was worried about her.

"I was going to ask you, Ash, if you wanted to battle again as there is a Battle club nearby in a 6v6 battle, but I can wait, and if Snivy can't battle, I'm fine with a 5v5 battle instead, I'm not going to worsen Snivy's injuries," Trip said to Ash who nods in understanding.

The care sign indicates that the Pokemon is now done with being taken care of, and both Trip and Ash see Nurse Joy taking Snivy out, sitting on a stretcher, looking a lot better than before.

"Snivy is now healed and should be acceptable to battle while she has a scar that'll never disappear. The flare-ups shouldn't be an issue," Nurse Joy explained to Ash as Snivy hopped onto Ash's shoulder on the opposite side of Pikachu. "I've taken your recording of what had been said to the league. They'll contact you to help get back at her trainer. But right now, this is enough to revoke her license entirely," Nurse Joy explained to Ash.

"Thank you, Nurse Joy. I do appreciate it," Ash thanked Nurse Joy, who bowed and went to treat other Pokemon. Ash turned to Trip, and Snivy noticed Trip and wondered who he was. "You want a battle Trip? You got it, 6v6 it is!" Ash said to Trip enthusiastically, who smirked and nodded at this.

"Bring it, Ash!" Trip said as Misty and Brock joined the two leaving the Pokemon center.

"Say Pikachu, who is this guy anyway? And why is he interested in battling Ash after what had happened?" Snivy asked Pikachu as Snivy was more concerned that Trip was the type who only cared about his battling than others' well-being, especially Pokemon.

"That's Trip Snivy. He's Ash's first rival here in Unova. He started with a Snivy, whom I had beaten in battle at Juniper's lab. He was planning on a 5v5 Pokemon battle if you were asked not to battle for a few days," Pikachu explained to Snivy, who was now curious about this. Snivy's aren't the type to be beaten that quickly, even the lesser experienced ones, but Pikachu is something else that she couldn't put her finger on.

The group arrived at the Battle Club and greeted Don George, expecting them. "Ah, Trip, Ash, welcome to the Battle Club here. I was told that you two were coming soon, so I had planned the battlefield for your fight," Don told Ash and Trip.

"Thanks, Don. We were originally planning on changing the battle to a five Pokemon battle, but that's not the case, but we are ready," Trip said to Don George, to which he nodded to Trip and led the group to a battlefield.

Ash and Trip went to the trainer's boxes as trainers watched from the sidelines, to which Ash noticed this, but This didn't faze Trip.

"The Battle Club battle between Ash Ketchem from Pallet Town in Kanto and Trip from Nuema Town will begin. That'll be a full 6v6 battle where both sides can switch Pokemon anytime. The battle will end when all six Pokemon on either trainer's side cannot battle," Don announced. "Now let out your Pokemon so we can start the battle, you two?"

"Tranquil, your up," Trip sent out his Pokemon as Ash looked it up and nodded, and pulled out a Pokeball.

"Sandile, come on out," Ash sends out Sandile. The trip was expecting to see Ash having one later, and against a flying type, Ash must have something planned up Ash's sleeve.

"I wasn't expecting this; maybe Pikachu first, but not a ground-type Ash?" Trip said to Ash, who nodded at Trip.

"Worry about your strategy, Trip, and not worry about what I have planned," Ash said to Trip.

"Sandile vs. Tranquil, let the battle begin," Don announced.

"Tranquil, use wing attack," Trip commanded Tranquil, to which Tranquil's wings glowed and went straight toward Sandile.

"Use Payback, Sandile," Sandile managed to counter Tranquils move as it hit the flying-type, sending it back, but that didn't deter it from the counter-attack.

"Clever Ash, waiting for the last minute to counter-attack with that move, but that isn't going to stop us now using Air cutter," Trip commanded Tranquil, who launched a flurry of wind at Sandile.

"Dodge it with Dig Sandile," Ash commanded Sandile as he dug underground. This was what Trip wanted, and he smirked.

"Bad move, Ash. Use Steel wing on the ground," Trip commands Tranquil, to which it slammed its wing on the ground, causing smoke; however, Sandile was clinging onto Tranquil wing with its jaws.

"Use Thunder Fang Sandile," Ash commanded Sandile, which surprised Trip.

"I didn't know that Sandile could use that Tranquil quick Steel wing before it could use that move," Trip commands in desperation, but it is too late as Thunder Fang lands a massive blow to Tranquil, shocking it.

"Now end this with Payback," Ash commands Sandile, which hits Tranquil, knocking it out.

"Tranquil is unable to battle Sandile wins," Don announced. Trip recalled Tranquil commending it for a good battle.

"To be honest with you, Ash, I wasn't expecting that move from Sandile. You must have other moves planned up your sleeve that your other Pokemon don't normally know?" Trip asked Ash.

"Yep, but you'll see in this battle most of them except Pikachu, that is?" Ash admits that he impressed Trip and now understands why Ash is strong as he is.

"Well, I won't let you get ahead of me like this, Servine. Come on out," Trip sent out his now-evolved grass starter. This caught the attention of not only Ash but Pikachu and Snivy. Ash returned Sandile to his ball, saving him for later.

"Pikachu, your next," Ash said to Pikachu, who nodded at this and went to the battlefield. Servine smirked at Pikachu, ready for the rematch against Pikachu.

"Okay, Pikachu, use quick attack," Ash commands Pikachu, which charges in toward Servine.

"Counter with Cut servine,' Servine's arm glowed and slashed at Pikachu. Both of their moves are connected. "Now, Leaf blade," Servine's tail glowed.

"Use Iron Tail," Pikachu's tail glowed as well as the two moves were about to clash, but Servine was faster, slamming Pikachu to the wall and knocking Pikachu out.

"Pikachu is unable to battle Servine win," Don announced. Ash ran to Pikachu, picking Pikachu up.

"No hard feelings, Pikachu. You might get your chance the next time we fight," Servine said to Pikachu, showing his respect to his rival, to which Pikachu smiled at this and nodded.

"Pikachu has gotten stronger, and I will admit, Ash, but Servine and I have been training for this rematch personally to beat Pikachu but don't think that means we'll go easy on you for the rest of the team," Trip said to Ash even complementing Ash's training.

"Thanks, Trip, but this is just the beginning, Snivy. I think it's time to show them how strong you are," Ash said to Snivy, who smirked at this as Ash knew what Trip didn't know and ran out to the field. This caught Trip off guard.

"I'm surprised you aren't using a flying or fire type, Ash?" Trip said to Ash. "Then again, Sandile had Thunder Fang, so Snivy must have some counter to Servine. I can't let my guard down, " Trip thought, and Ash noticed that since Ash showed his hand earlier in the match.

"Use Leaf Blade, Servine," Trip commands Servine, who charged his tail and charged at Snivy with the attack.

"Fight back with your Leaf blade as well, Snivy," Ash commands Snivy as the two grass starter's leaf blades on their tails clashed evenly matched. As the two were sent back unscathed, Trip was interested in Ash's Snivy. She wasn't like normal Snivy's, that's for sure.

"Use Attract Snivy," Ash commands Snivy, hoping not to let Trip get the upper hand. Snivy sent the move at Servine, instantly hitting him and affecting him.

"Snivy knows to Attract?" Trip said not expecting that move; that's different than the type of move for starting with a new trainer Pokemon.

"Now Vine whip Snivy," Ash commands Snivy as she manages to land massive blows to Servine, who was immobilized by Snivy's beauty.

"Servine, fight back," Trip said, but it wasn't getting Servine.

"Finish this with Leaf blade Snivy," Ash commands as she lands the decisive blow to Servine, knocking him out.

"No! Servine," Trip said.

"Servine is unable to battle Snivy wins," Don announced. This made many new trainers talk about what just happened and about Snivy.

"Great job, Snivy. You did a good job," Ash commended Snivy, who had a smug smile, head held high.

"Thanks, Ash, man, did I need that battle? It felt great under a new trainer," Snivy told Ash. She was ready for more as they saw Trip return his starter to his Pokeball Trip smiled.

"Snivy did a good job holding back that Attract just the right moment for Servine is not what I expected. But don't think that this is over, Litwik. Come on out," Trip sent out his next Pokemon, which looked like a candle. Ash looked up and saw it was a ghost and fire type.

"Snivy, I'll let you battle later so you can rest," Ash said to Snivy, who nodded and went beside Pikachu. "Oshawott, come on out," Ash sent out his water starter, which came out of his ball. Trip recognized it.

"So it seems like the Oshawott from Juniper's lab decided to travel with you, Ash? I'm curious to see how well he is under your control?" Trip said to Ash, who nodded at this.

"Oshawott uses a water gun," Ash commands Oshawott, who launches a water gun at Litwik.

"Counter with Energy Ball and use Will-of-Whisp," Trip commands Litwik, who launches an energy ball at the water gun and the fire attack on Oshawot, hitting him. Ash was stunned that Litwik could know grass-type moves but couldn't let this deter him.

"Come now, Ash? You think you are the only one with a few tricks up his sleeve. Well, that'll be your downfall. Use hex Litwik," Trip said to Ash and commanded Litwik, who sent a spell towards Oshawott. "Fight back with Air Slash, Oshawott," Ash commands Oshawott, who slashed through the Hex spell. However, both the attacks hit Litwik and Oshawott knocking both out. Trip was so stunned that Oshawott knew that move, and he should've picked him if he knew that Oshawott had that move under his sleeve.

"Litwik and Oshawott are unable to battle. The battle is tied with both sides having three Pokemon left," Don George announced as Oshawott and Litwik were recalled back to their Pokeballs and complemented by their performances.

"I must say, Ash, you've impressed me so far. Oshawott knowing a flying type move is pretty good, but I think you should see a good water type Frillish come on out," Trip sent out his next Pokemon. Ash looked up Frillish, and it was a water/ghost type.

"Snivy, you want another go at this?" Ash said to Snivy, who nodded at this.

"Yes, Ash, but be careful Frillish aren't the type to go down easily," Snivy warned Ash, who nodded in acknowledgment. Snivy ran out to the battlefield.

"Yeah, I figured much use water pulse Frillish," Trip commands Frillish, who launched a water attack at Snivy. Ash knew that Frillish being a Ghost-type that, would know Hex.

"Use Leaf Storm, Snivy," Ash commanded Snivy, which sliced through the water pulse, hitting Frillish but barely hurting it, but that is what Trip was aiming for as a mysterious dark aura hit Snivy.

"Ash, that's Curse body. It's like disabled Snivy won't be able to use Leaf Storm for a while," Misty said to Ash. This now made Ash more worried.

"I taken that Frillish doesn't know Hex Trip?" Ash asked Trip, who laughed at that.

"Sorry, Ash, for laughing? But Frillish's Curse body ability is more useful than Hex's. You just wasted your best move that could damage Frillish early," Trip said while finishing his laugh. Ash grunted at this Snivy still had one more attack under her sleeve. The trip doesn't know. "That's checkmate, Ash. Use Ice beam Frillish," Frillish launched the ice beam at Snivy. But Ash and Snivy smirked at this, which caught Trip's attention.

"No, this is checkmate. Use Mirror coat, Snivy," Ash commands Snivy. The energy was covering Snivy as the ice beam hit it and sent it right back at Frillish, hitting it. Trip was surprised by this as his Servine didn't know that move. He noticed that Curse's body hit Snivy again, but that didn't matter as Frillish was knocked out.

"Frillish is unable to battle Snivy wins," Don announced as Trip recalled Frillish.

"First attract, and now Mirror coat Snivy is different from the rest of your team, Ash?" Trip said to Ash, who smiled at the compliment and nodded.

"Yeah, that one caught me off guard more than Attract, I must admit to you, Trip, but I guessed when she was with another trainer before, I must have its quirks," Ash said to Trip, who nodded in agreement.

"Vanllite, comes on out," Trip sent out his next Pokemon, a pure ice-type that looks like an ice cream cone. Ash looked it up and worried that Curse's body ability had also taken the Mirror coat.

"Snivy, do you want to rest? I mean, you've been through a lot?" Ash said to Snivy, more concerned for her well-being, to which Snivy noticed and shook her head at Ash.

"Thanks, Ash, but I think I can handle one more battle," Snivy said. Snivy was stubborn, that's for sure, but she wouldn't let her new trainer down just because she lost two of her moves. Ash nodded at this and let Snivy stay out.

"I see Ash? Snivy rather stays out, but that won't do her much. I'll let you attack. First, Ash," Trip said to Ash. Ash knew that Trip had something up his sleeve for him to attack first, but all that Snivy had was one attack left that wasn't Attract.

"Use Vine whip Snivy," Ash commands Snivy, who launches her vines at the ice-type Pokemon, sending it back.

"Now Counter with avalanche Vanilite," Trip commands as massive amounts of ice are sent straight at Snivy, knocking her out.

"No, Snivy," Ash said, running towards Snivy, who was struggling to get out of the ice on her after being knocked out.

"Snivy is unable to battle Vanilite wins," Don announced as Ash carried Snivy to the trainer's box next to Pikachu.

"You did great, Snivy. That was my fault. I wasn't expecting that move to be used," Ash apologized to Snivy, who smiled at Ash, knowing that he did his best more than other trainers would.

"Tepig comes on out," Ash sent out his next Pokemon, Tepig, which impressed Trip.

"So you have all three starters, it seems, Ash? Not bad I have taken another one that a trainer abandoned. Or from the ranch?" Trip asked Ash, who nodded at the question.

"The first one, Trip, but I rather not talk about that. It's a bit harsh from what I've heard," Ash said. Trip knew where this was going and dropped it.

"Use Water Pulse Vanilite," Vanilite launched its attack at Tepig.

"Dig now, Tepig," Tepig dug underground quickly. And came behind the ice-type Pokemon and slammed itself into the ice cream cone Pokemon but much heavier than typical damage.

"Not sure that you know this, Ash, but that's Heavy Slam, a move that the heavier the Pokemon, the stronger the move is," Brock told Ash after seeing that move in action. This caught Ash and Trip off guard, as Ash had never seen that move before. Ash thought, what else other Pokemon like Tepig could know?

"Use water pulse, Vanilite," Trip said while recovering from the shock of what was said by Brock.

"Now heavy slam, Tepig," Ash commands as the two moves hit each other, knocking Tepig and Vanilite out, which surprised both Ash and Trip.

"Both Pokemon are unable to battle. Both Ash and Trip have one Pokemon left each. The next battle will decide the victor of this match," Don announced. Ash and Trip recalled their Pokemon and pulled out their Pokeballs with their last Pokemon.

"I must say, Ash, you've impressed me during this battle today, but I won't go down without a fight. The second Pokemon I've caught on my Journey is my last one. Timburr comes on out," Trip said as he sent out his last Pokemon. Ash looked it up. It was a fighting type.

"Pidove, come on out," Ash sent out his next Pokemon. The two Pokemon were staring each other down as this was the final battle.

"Timburr, use strength," Trip commands his Pokemon as it launches its steel beam at Pidove.

"Fight back with a Quick Attack," Ash commanded Pidove. As it hit the Timburr, he countered with his steel beam, hitting Pidove upwards to the ceiling hard.

"Finish this with Thunder Punch Timburr," Trip commanded Timburr, not letting Pidove recover as it hit, but Pidove survived.

"Come on, Pidove, don't let this get to you. I'm here for you and believe in you," Ash said to Pidove, struggling to get up.

"I'm impressed with the rest of the team, Ash, but this Pidove disappoints me. Yes, she survived the Thunder Punch, but even she has its limits. End this with Ice punch and Thunder punch," Trip commands Timburr, who went in with both hands glowed with both moves.

However, Pidove started to glow upon hearing what Trip said Pidove is evolving. Pidove was now a Tranquil and, in time, used Aerial ace before the two punch moves could reach its target. It was sending Timburr back hard.

"An evolution? Wasn't I expecting that? Pidove must want to win this for Ash, that's for sure," Trip thought to himself. "Use Strength and Thunder punch with your steel beam," Trip commands Timburr.

"Aerial ace and steel wing, Tranquil," Ash commands Tranquil as the two move land with each other sending each other back to where their trainers were as Timburr couldn't take it anymore and fainted.

"Timburr is unable to battle Tranquil wins. The victor goes to Ash from Pallet Town," Don announced the winner of this 6v6 battle. Ash ran over to Tranquil, hugging her, as did Snivy in congratulations.

"You did great out there, Tranquil. You earned that win and evolution, that's for sure," Ash said to Tranquil, who nodded in agreement and smiled.

"I agree with Ash on that one, and I must admit I was wrong about you, Tranquil. You've been raised well," Trip said, walking over with Timburr, to which Tranquil smiled and took that as a compliment. Trip held out a handshake.

"I'm hoping for another battle the next time we meet, agreed Ash?" Trip asked Ash, who accepted the handshake and nodded in agreement. "We are rivals, Trip, so you bet we will face each other again," Ash said.

The audience of trainers who were watching the battle was clapping at this battle. It was something that they needed to watch out for, that's for sure. Ash and Trip bowed, showing them respect and thanking them for watching the battle.

After a tough battle, the group leaves, heading for the Pokemon Center.

With a tough battle and a new evolution, Ash's Journey has just begun as the Journey continues.

Stay tuned

Done man. These battle chapters are tough to write and take so long with these rewrites. When people re-read these, it won't matter to rewrite-wise, but we are far from that point. And yes, Tepig knows heavy slam is his egg move. The Dwebble episode is next. Catch you guys next time.
