Let's get this chapter going, shall we?

Chapter 21: The resort dates: Ash and Misty's family history and Feelings for each other

"Human Speech"

"Pokemon Speech"

We joined our heroes in the mountains near Castellia City. They were heading to the resort where Burgh gave them reservation tickets to enjoy themselves, rest, and relax while on their Journey through Unova before heading to Nimbasa City.

"According to the map, the resort should be close by," Brock said as the group was excited to be in a hotel resort. It's been years since they were in one without any conditions or problems.

"Man, I can wait to relax and not worry about battling or Team Rocket. Let's agree not to mention them while we are on vacation," Ash said to which Misty and Brock nodded in agreement. "The same with battling. If something were going on, we'd just let it go or save it until the final day of the stay," Ash said yet again. Misty and Brock nodded in agreement.

"We get it, Ash? We're on vacation. No need to dictate our enjoyment," Pikachu said to Ash, who sighed at this. Now he was the one who was going to ruin this vacation if he didn't shut up.

"Sounds like you haven't had time off in years of your travel Pikachu?" Snivy said to Pikachu, even Ash.

"Aside from the league rooms, not since the Orange Islands. We had a day off ruined by those three we don't speak about, and two Pokemon of them were from our traveling companion Tracey that being a Scyther and Ash's Charizard," Pikachu said. At the same time, Snivy felt terrible about this, given that they've traveled so much and rarely got actual time off from anything.

As the group arrived at the resort, the gang noticed how big this place was, especially since they saw the hot springs and massive hotel rooms. As the trio entered the doors at the resort and Nurse Joy was working the front desk. Brock being Brock, of course, tried his usual routine with women.

"I'm sorry, but if you don't back off, you'll be escorted out of mine and my husband's resort regardless of your reservations," Nurse Joy said in an annoyed tone. This backed Brock off, much to Ash and the other's relief, and he apologized for his behavior. "Make sure that doesn't happen again, and if you do this to my other guest, I won't hesitate to kick you out as well. I take that you have reservations as we are only taking them this time of year," Nurse Joy said to Ash and the gang, to which Ash pulled out his room ticket.

"Yeah, I do. Burgh gave me these tickets for beating him in my gym battle with him," Ash gave Nurse Joy, who had taken the tickets.

"Ah, yes, Burgh, he told me that guests were coming over this way. The ticket is for a three-day stay. By the way, you wouldn't be the same Ash Ketchem whose Ketchem family that visited this same villa six years ago?" Nurse Joy asked. This got Misty's attention.

"Yes, my dad and mom always take me here on the way to Nimbasa City before we head to our Villa in Udella Town. I'm surprised that you remember me, Nurse Joy?" Ash asked Nurse Joy, who nodded at Ash's question.

"Given your father's job currently, I thought that you would be visiting this place soon enough, but yes, I remember our repeating guests over the years. Even your father visits this place from time to time this year. Sadly you just missed him. He left last week?" Nurse Joy noticed that Ash didn't want to talk about this though he was surprised that he heard that his father was here not long ago and gave them the room suite key that was part of their tickets.

"Thanks, Nurse Joy, and we'll be using the facilities while we're here if they're still working?" Ash asked, trying to change the subject as Nurse Joy showed them around the resort, to which Nurse Joy gave them the grand tour.

"Our spas for both humans and Pokemon are open this season. The hot springs are available and have a Pokemon room for them, of course, for males and females. We have a training facility for those who want to keep up in their training, knowing some Pokemon rather train than relax. Aside from that, you have free access to all this and the food court here," Nurse Joy explained as the group arrived at the suite that was given to them.

Joy handed the keys to Ash. As the room was in his name and she excused herself from maintaining the hotel, Ash opened the door, and the room was more extensive than Ash, and the others imagined. Pikachu and Snivy plopped themselves on the bed meant for Pokemon as Ash and the others picked their beds and relaxed.

"Man, this is the best. I'm glad that Brock calmed down, or we wouldn't get to enjoy this room," Snivy said out loud.

"Yeah, thanks a lot, Brock; you nearly ruined our vacation," Pikachu said to Brock while holding Snivy's hand while relaxing. Ash heard it all and didn't try to translate that, but Brock knew that he nearly messed up their vacation, especially the tone of Pikachu and Snivy's voices.

"Let's just forget what I did and move to explore the hotel after we get fully settled in," Brock said to which the group nodded in agreement. "One more rule, no more hitting on the girls while staying here. Nurse Joy made that clear, agree, Brock?" Misty said to Brock, who sighed at this and nodded in agreement. "And yet I'm the only one here, it seems, that has a love partner?" Brock said.

"By the way, Ash, you never mentioned that you have been here at this resort?" Misty asked Ash, who sighed at this and looked at Misty and Brock.

"You all know that my family and I traveled a lot as a kid. We always visited here, given how long it takes to get to Nimbasa City. Because of my father's company, we usually get complete luxury suites through my father's company. I never knew why until a year later, before I started my Journey. Look, I wouldn't say I like to talk about it. When Nurse Joy mentioned that he was here not long ago, I was hoping to see him but also kind of hoping not to, given how busy he is," Ash said, as this hurt him. Misty was a genuine concern as she cared for Ash and saw him as more than his friend and traveling companion, but Brock, who was also concerned, noticed this as Ash walked out of the room. Misty was about to go and talk to Ash, but Brock stopped her.

"Let him go, Misty. He doesn't want this to ruin his vacation. I don't know what kind of job his father has, but it must be vital if Ash wasn't down about speaking about him?" Brock said to Misty, who sighed and nodded at this. Snivy and Pikachu noticed this as Snivy turned to Pikachu.

"Do you know anything about this Pikachu? I mean, you've traveled with Ash for the longest time?" Pikachu shook his head, which made Snivy surprised by that quick reaction.

"No, I've only met his mom and Professor Oak but never Ash's father. He rarely talks about him, and his mom only mentioned him a few times, but that's it," Pikachu explains as Snivy was even more concerned about as much as Misty but left it be.

A few hours passed by Ash, Misty, and Brock were in the indoor pool area; this had room for both humans and Pokemon, so Misty decided to let her team stay in their part of the pool away from guests especially given her Gyrados was a part of her team. Ash lets out his team, and Dewott instantly hops into the pool itself. Other than Pikachu and Snivy, Ash's team are Dewott, Pignite, Tranquil, Sandile, Venepede, Axew, Scraggy Blitzle, and Sewedaddle.

"Okay, everyone enjoys this time off of no battling, but you are allowed to look around as long as you don't try to bother the other guests, that is, and tomorrow we'll hit the hot springs," Ash said as the rest of his Pokemon didn't need to be told twice and left to do what they want. At the same time, Dewott was backstroking laps around the pool to Ash and Snivy's amusement. Ash and Brock jumped in the pool and enjoyed their time there. While Misty was still getting over what had happened before, to which Ash noticed this and sighed.

"Hey, Misty, come on in. It would be best if you were not being stressed out by stuff," Ash said as he noticed that Misty was concerned about Ash.

"Oh, I will be just a minute. I'm going to check on my Pokemon before I come in, given how Gyrados is?" Misty said as she left to do so. This wasn't fazing Ash, who sighed at this.

"My family is ruining this vacation, and he's not even here?" Ash said, not realizing that he wasn't saying it out loud.

"Ash, you might as well tell us what happened. We can't ruin this vacation by whatever happened with your father and your family?" Snivy said to Ash.

"I think whatever Snivy said, I agree with her. Ever since we found out about your family visiting here, you've been silent and dodging the questions. Misty's been concerned about you since we arrived here at the hotel Ash?" Brock said to Ash. Ash sighed at this and agreed to tell what was going on.

"The truth is my father was allowed to work over here in Unova, but that would mean he would be living here. This was causing a lot of rift between my mother and him during the year that I would be a trainer. I forgot if it was this region that he was living at or Kalos?" Ash said this caught everyone off guard.

"What type of job did your father have that made him work here, Ash? We know he works for the champion here, but you didn't go into further detail?" Brock asked. Ash sighed as he realized he had let much more slip out back when they ran into Burgh.

"He was working for the league more closely to the region's champion. He's the advisor for the guy who needs it at times cause the champion doesn't take things seriously sometimes, from what I heard, that is. I only met him a few times when we were visiting the region. A real laid-back guy whenever Alder's not battling," Ash said as Misty heard this from the doorway.

"I have a friend here in Unova who also had his parents who were so busy working that they haven't spent time with him. As for my dad, it hurts when he didn't even make it to my first day as a trainer to see me off, and at times, I feel like he's no longer around anymore. He chose to live out here as he was originally from Unova. Mom was from Kanto," Ash said, clenching his fist in the pool, hurt by this. "I think I need to talk and tell Misty this. I can't just ruin our vacation and our relationship because of this," Ash said while getting out of the pool and getting dried off before leaving as Misty walked off thinking.

"I never knew that Ash had some stuff in common and had some hatred towards his father. I guess he was hurting realizing that he was coming over here for his next gym Journey," Misty thought to herself as she made a quick turn around to seem like she was returning from the pool area and ran into Ash.

"Oh, Ash, sorry, I was just coming back from the Pokemon version of the pool area that my Pokemon were in," Misty said to Ash, who interrupted Misty and hugged her as she returned it. "You knew that I was listening to you, huh?" Misty asked Ash.

"That and the pool where you put your Pokemon was in the other direction than you went," Ash said. "Now you understand why I rather not talk about my father as much when I'm here on my Journey and trying to enjoy it," Ash explained to Misty, who lets go of the hug and shook her head.

"To be fair, Ash, I, too, can relate. My parents were never around. I'm aware that my father is another gym leader, and rumor has it that he's here in Unova as one. As for my mom, she was getting by, but because of my sister's fame, she's been more into them than me, so that I can relate," Misty said tearfully in Ash's hands as a kiss cut her off. As the two shared a moment with this trying to ignore their family problems.

"Look, Misty, we don't need to dwell in the past and be more open with each other now, and if I do run into my father, I'll try to be kind to him as much as I can, but I won't make any," Ash was cut off with Misty also kissing him. Her telling him to shut up and not talk about this anymore. The two shared the kiss for a couple of minutes before ending the kiss with a smile. "Thanks, Misty. I needed that, and I love you and always have for quite some time. Even after all of our arguments and issues in the past," Ash said. The two were heading back to the pool where Brock and the others were.

"Same, Ash, and to be honest, what happened to my bike was an accident, and I have probably taken it out of proportion, especially when it could just be replaced without you owing me anything," Misty admitted to Ash. Who nodded in agreement.

"I understand that you were trying to be better than your sisters and all, Misty, but many of our arguments were a bit too harsh," Ash said. As the two arrived at the pool door.

"Let's not keep Brock and the others waiting, and today we are starting anew," Misty said as Ash nodded. The two entered the room, headed into the pool, and enjoyed their time there.

Ash treated Misty to one of the spas. Thank you for the rest of the day as the day ended. As the trio and Pikachu and Snivy were back in the room, the first day of the resort vacation was a bit rough in the first half but ended with more feelings for both Ash and Misty for each other.

Stay tuned.

Done. As I said before, I'm not good with human shipping, and I wanted to add more to this chapter and Ash's family alongside the romance. While it is done near the end, there will be more later on down the road. Don't worry about it, folks. You will get it as the story continues Snivy and Pikachu's time during this story is next. See you next time.
