Chapter 22: Resort Romance pt 2: Pikachu's Past and Snivy's Ex

Ash and the gang's vacation begins on day two as Ash's Pokemon eats breakfast. Dewott noticed how much Pikachu had been more than friends with Snivy, given that Dewott knew Snivy longer.

"Hey Pikachu, don't get me wrong but aren't you and Snivy being more than just friends?" Dewott asked. Pikachu and Snivy blush at this but nod at Dewott's question. Ash's other Pokemon were now going gaw at this revelation.

"We have been like this since the situation with Snivy's former trainer Amelia. She needed someone to be there for her during that time, and honestly, I had feelings for her since that day," Pikachu explained to Dewott, who nodded at this as Dewott understood why he trusted Pikachu after all.

"Can we not talk about that Pikachu, and so what about us being together, Dewott? You jealous or something?" Snivy said to which Dewott shook his head to Snivy and Pikachu.

"No, I was just curious about this, that's all, and I agree. I'm just curious if Pikachu had a girlfriend beforehand or someone who had a crush on him before meeting Snivy?" Dewott asked to which Pikachu sighed at this. This made Snivy wide-eyed upon hearing that.

'Is it true, Pikachu? That you had another girlfriend before me?' Snivy asked, clenching her hands at Pikachu. Pikachu noticed this and knew that he had to word it correctly as she didn't realize how bad his previous relationship was before coming here.

'Yes and,' before Pikachu could finish, Snivy slapped Pikachu with one of her vines as fast as she was.

"HOW COULD YOU, PIKACHU? YOU WERE PLAYING WITH MY EMOTIONS WHEN YOU WERE SEEING SOMEONE ELSE ON THE SIDE TO THINK THAT YOU HAD FEELINGS FOR ME," Snivy said out loud as she took her food and left in tears.

"And no is what I was going to say," Pikachu finished as he held his cheek, making everyone curious about what Pikachu meant by that.

"Wow, Snivy took it too far. What were you going to say, Pikachu? I've known her for a while, and she never gets upset before getting her trainer, that is?" Pignite said to Pikachu as Dewott nodded in agreement.

"Should've said no first, Pikachu, so tell us what you mean by no?" Dewott asked. Pikachu sighed at this.

"The truth is, while yes, I did have someone who crushed on me, I didn't want a relationship at the time. Her name is Buneary. Ever since she first met me, she's been obsessed with me and will try to make me her boyfriend," Pikachu said to the others.

"What happened to make you sigh, Pikachu? If I were in a relationship, I would want to know what made you not be in a relationship as there is more to the story from the sounds of it?" Vennepede asked Pikachu as a female. She can see more sides to every story and knows that even Snivy has overreacted to this Pikachu sighed and nodded as if she had a point.

"After the Shinnoh league during our month's vacation Dawn. Buneary's trainer visited the ranch while on her way to Johto for contests, and it turns out that Buneary evolved into Lopunny. The last straw came when she told me that she learned to attract," Pikachu said this made the other's curious because Snivy knows it, and he's with her, while Venepede and Tranquil had a feeling they knew where this was going.

"I know what you're thinking, and no, it does not attract that made me not be with Lopunny. It is her ability, Cute Charm. For those who haven't seen how badly a Cute Charm combo does the same thing as Attract. Still, with both, it's almost permanent in the right hands, or should I say wrong. That's when I set my foot down. Dawn noticed this as well," Pikachu said, trying not to go further into detail for Axew's sake given how young Axew is and would go into further questions. "She wouldn't have taught her that if she knew that is how she would abuse it, was her words for Lopunny," Pikachu explained to the others, who were wide-eyed at this. They've only seen what Attract can do but have yet to experience an ability like that.

"Let's say our relationship and friendship with her after that. The rest of her team was fine with this, thankfully. Man did she take it too far," Pikachu said.

"I agree, Pikachu? No one should go through that, both male Pokemon and female Pokemon. As the leader's daughter of the swarm, I had a few males who wanted to be my boyfriend, but my father was always overprotective and said no. Some did know to attract even if I do something my mother taught me to fend myself," Venepede said to Pikachu, who was nervous when she said that after he put his foot in his mouth about it's a female thing comment when they met.

'"Just don't use it on me while practice battles, okay Venepede, but yeah, while that is different, it's not too uncommon," Pikachu said.

"And that is why you and Snivy's relationship is almost on thin ice, Pikachu. You over assume things or don't get that what Venepede said is exactly like your situation," Tranquil said as she, too, was female while trying not to continue about the whole thing about what attract is as well. This made it feel like Pikachu was ganged up on. Still, Pikachu knew he had put his foot in his mouth by saying that to Venepede.

"Sorry, Venepede, and sorry, everyone, for saying that. I didn't mean to sound mean. I just had a rough time before, and now that I am in a relationship, I'm trying not to make that mistake that Lopunny did back then," Pikachu apologized to everyone.

"Apology excepted, Pikachu. I wasn't planning on using it on you anyway. I let that comment back when we first met go after hearing this story, but I think you need to talk to Snivy and give her the full story," Venepede said. Pikachu sighed and nodded.

"Later, I think Snivy needs some time alone to cool off. Hopefully, I'll talk to her before our time at the hot spring today," Pikachu said to the group, who nodded. Little did Pikachu know it, but Snivy listened to the entire thing from the other side of the wall. Snivy looked down at her vines at what she had done.

"Now I'm the one who overdid it without hearing the entire thing. Yes, Pikachu should've said no first, but I know it would've come out wrong. He's not the only one with an ex that took it too far, but nothing like that combination," Snivy said to herself as she looked back at Pikachu and the others. "I'll give him an hour, and then we can make up after that," Snivy said as she left the room. Tranquil noticed the movement of Snivy and left after eating. Snivy was enjoying the sun in the forest area nearby. Tranquil noticed her and flew to a tree nearby. "You can come down, Tranquil. You know that I am not a fan of anyone sneaking up behind me," Snivy said to Tranquil, who flew next to Snivy.

"I taken that you heard the entire thing that Pikachu said, right? I saw you move when Pikachu finished explaining earlier," Tranquil asked Snivy, who nodded.

"Yeah, I did. We both took it too far in this relationship and friendship, huh?" Snivy said to which Tranquil nodded in agreement.

"Especially what Pikachu said to Venepede, both times, but even I wouldn't go that far as to what he said," Tranquil said to Snivy.

"Yeah, but I wouldn't say that Pikachu had ill intent with his words, and he isn't the only one who had an abusive ex in terms of wanting a relationship," Snivy said. Tranquil was interested in what Snivy meant by that. Little did they know it, but someone was watching them nearby, not Pikachu. The figure walked over to Snivy and Tranquil, to which Snivy hissed at the sight of who it was, another member of her evolution line, a Servine, and not Trip's Servine but a shiny Servine.

"Hello, ladies. Fancy seeing you two out here by yourselves? Maybe you wouldn't mind a guy like me to talk with," Servine said to the two females.

"Speaking of whom. Didn't I tell you that I have nothing to do with you, and I am sure that Tranquil doesn't either," Snivy hissed at the Servine, who returned the hissing.

"Come now, Snivy. Is that any way to greet someone you've known for a while," Servine said to Snivy, who wasn't happy with him. Tranquil noticed this and stepped in between the two of them.

"Stay away from her. Snivy said that she has no interest in you. Why don't you make like a twig and leave," Tranquil said to the Servine, who smirked at this. A smirk that Snivy knew all too well as she gulped.

"Oh, we have a hero here. I'm sure you'll change your mind with me and get to know me all too well, isn't that right, Snivy?" Servine said to Snivy, who knew exactly where this was going.

"Tranquil, let's go now. He knows to attract, and he's even worse than Lopunny in what Pikachu told you," Snivy whispers to Tranquil, who was surprised by this and, without showing that she knew this turned to the Servine and shook her head at the grass-snake.

"I'll pass. Maybe you'll find a better female around here than us," Tranquil said to Servine, who laughed at what Tranquil said, which scared both of them as Snivy knew him more than the others.

"Oh, did Snivy not tell you I am the one who taught her to attract back before she started her journey?" Servine said as Snivy and Tranquil stepped back away from him. "Oh, it seems you don't remember how much stronger mine is than yours, Snivy? Let me remind you that?" Servine said as he blew two heart shapes kisses at both Snivy and Tranquil, only to be met with a Thunderbolt before it could hit both of them. Pikachu rammed into Servine quickly, sending him back into a tree.

"LEAVE THEM ALONE. THEY SAID THEY WANTED NOTHING WITH YOU," Pikachu snarled to the Servine, who hissed angrily towards Pikachu.

"First Oshawott, now this rodent. You know how to make friends who don't know when to mind their business, Snivy," Servine said to Snivy, to which Pikachu stood before her Servine hissed at Pikachu rattling his tail and showing his anger.

"Pikachu here will beat you just like how he beat your younger brother in battle," Snivy said to Servine. This made Pikachu confused. Servine, on the other hand, was even madder than ever.

"You beat my younger brother. Now you crossed the line. If it weren't for my trainer's vacation, I would show you why you shouldn't mess with me but mark my words; you'll pay for this, and I will get you back, Snivy. You are my girl, no one else," Servine said as he returned to the resort.

"Thanks, Pikachu, if you didn't step in to stop it? I would've countered with my attraction to cancel it out, ' Snivy said while sighing in relief. 'You know him personally, Snivy? I mean, how he talked to you and mentioned that he taught you to attract?" Tranquil said and was interrupted by Snivy.

"He, like Lopunny, Servine was my ex, and yes, he did teach me how to use attract only to use it against me and make it so that I couldn't get rid of it even if I tried," Snivy said to Tranquil.

"He was planning on using it against you when you mastered it, right?" Pikachu asked Snivy. That Snivy wasn't expecting Pikachu to figure out.

"Y...Yes, he was the Snivy at the lab the longest before I was to be the next starter after he left," Snivy said to Pikachu. "Dewott had a bad past with him and saw this before I agreed to train with Servine and stepped in before realizing that the move was permanent, not to mention he knew how to make it permanent like that combo you mention with Lopunny," Snivy said, looking down as Pikachu realized that she has a similar situation to how Pikachu was in with his former ex.

"I'm sorry that happened to you, Snivy. Why were you upset when I didn't fully explain Lopunny?" Pikachu apologized to Snivy, who smiled at this and nodded. "I literally put my foot in my mouth twice today, first with you and then Venepede, but I'm willing to move on from that," Pikachu said, to which Snivy nodded.

"I accept your apology Pikachu, but no more relationships outside of this, right?" Snivy asked Pikachu, who nodded at this.

"Just Lopunny, no one else, Snivy, but before we go, what did you mean that I "beat" his younger brother? The only other Servine I know was," Pikachu realized who Snivy was referring to, to which Snivy nodded.

"Trips Servine? Yeah, that's his twin brother, the oldest of the two. Let's say he is one of many reasons why Dewott has issues with Trip's Servine, that I know that I'm not willing to explain as I promised Dewott sorry Pikachu," Snivy said as she noticed it was getting late, and they were planning a trip to the hot spring. "However, if you want more, you can ask Dewott, as I wasn't around the entire time during their drama, but all I will say is. Trip's Servine was the one who asked Pignite and me not only to be friends with Dewott but keep an eye on him as well," Snivy said, crossing her arms.

"Though I doubt Dewott will tell you why as he's sheltered his friendship with Trip's Servine and his feelings for the longest time," Snivy said while walking back towards the resort with Pikachu as Tranquil was flying, listening to the entire thing. Pikachu let things go with that, as right now; he wasn't worried about Dewott but Snivy.

Everyone noticed that Pikachu was walking back with Snivy, now holding Pikachu's hand. However, they saw that something was going on by how Tranquil looked.

"Hey, what happened? Don't tell me you pushed the relationship too far, Pikachu?" Pignite asked Pikachu as Dewott sighed at this.

"That's enough, Pignite. I don't think that it's Pikachu who was the cause this time?" Dewott said. Pikachu, Tranquil, and Snivy nodded at what Dewott said as he noticed that Snivy and Tranquil were at ease and a bit shook. "What's wrong, you two?"Dewott asked the two.

"It's my ex Trip's Servine. He's here at the resort with his new trainer. He tried to use Attract on both of us," Snivy told Pignite and Dewott, who was growling at this.

"Oh great, just what I don't need if his brother was here. I would have been fine with Trip's Servine minus our rough friendship, but I never wanted to see him again," Dewott snarled.

"I know how you feel there, Dewott, but it seems like he's more interested in taking his apprentice back regardless if Snivy wanted to or not," Pikachu said. "Even trying to make another girlfriend in Tranquil, Servine had taken it too far, even more than my ex. There are boundaries no one should go, and forcing attracts is one of them," Pikachu said to the other Pokemon.

"Not like I wanted to be in a relationship with him at all, Pikachu, and it wouldn't work with me anyway. If I wanted a relationship, it would rather be with a flying type," Tranquil said, as Pikachu left it be after she said that.

"Let's just head to the hot spring before the day is over, okay," Pikachu said to which Snivy and the others agreed as they headed to the hot spring. Pikachu and the others were in the hot springs: Dewott, Pignite, Sandile, Scraggy, and Sewaddle were in the male Pokemon part of the hot spring. While Tranquil, Venepede, and Axew were in the female Pokemon part of the hot spring. Pikachu and Snivy were in their private one relaxing beside each other. Pikachu held Snivy's hand under the water.

"Man, this feels good on the fur, and we should do this again," Pikachu said to Snivy, absorbing the heat into her scales, even making a greenish glow as it was absorbed.

"Agree, Pikachu, this is what I needed after a long stressful day and my journey as a wild Pokemon," Snivy says while looking at Pikachu, touching her tail on Pikachu's tail and kissing him on the cheek the same one that she slapped before. Pikachu returned it, and the two held a long kiss that lasted a bit before they were done and decided to rest in the spring before leaving. This caught the attention of the Servine from before, who was even angrier than before. And vowed to get back at Snivy and Pikachu no matter the cost.

As the day ends as the group returns to their rooms, the next day will be the last day of their vacation as they'll touch upon their training before they leave.
