Greetings everyone. Mgunnels3 here, and welcome back to Ash's Unova Journey, my version. Before we begin, I would like you guys to review the chapters coming out, please I worked so hard on these, and I want to know that you enjoy these and get feedback for this story. I appreciate the new watchers and favorites, but I need some input as this helps with this work. Yes, I did take a three-year hiatus, but that doesn't change the fact that my story is back in the swing of things. That said, let's get this battle going, shall we?

Chapter 39: Ash vs. Virgil

"Human Speech"

"Pokemon Speech"

The battle club's top 50 battle has just begun as both Ash and Virgil are now ready to face each other, as did Litwick and Vaporeon. The two were prepared to fight.

"Vaporeon vs. Litwick, let the battle begin," The announcer announced.

"Vaporeon, use Hydro Pump," Virgil commands his Pokemon, who launched a massive stream of water toward Litwick.

"Litwick counter with Shadow ball," Ash commanded his Pokemon as the moves clashed with each other. "Now use Psychic Litwick before she could get any chance to fight back," Ash commands Litwick as its eyes glowed and controlled Vaporeon, sending her around like a ragdoll.

"Vaporeon use Rain dance," Virgil commanded his Pokemon, which used the move, making it harder for Litwick to focus and lose control over Psychic. "You're going to need to do more than that to beat Vaporeon as she is my second Pokemon and why Umbreon has a child with her," Virgil told Ash, who grunted. "Now use Acid armor," Virgil commands Vaporeon, who disappears in the rain.

"Keep calm, Litwick. She must be somewhere just focused," Ash told Litwick, who closed his eyes to try to sense where Vaporeon was. Virgil smirked at this and knew that he could use this to his advantage. "Use Shadow ball Vaporeon," Virgil commands his Pokemon, who launches the ghost-type attack at Litwick, hitting it hard.

"Now use Hydro Pump," Virgil commanded Vaporeon, who blasted another water current towards Litwick.

"Litwick uses Energy ball on the rain dance," Ash commanded Litwick, ruining Virgil's strategy. Virgil wasn't expecting that Litwick knew a grass-type move. Litwick dodges the attack just in time, as he is now ready to get things in his control his way. Suddenly he started to glow as Litwick was evolving. Litwick was now a Lampent and felt more in sync with Ash than his former trainer.

"OK, Lampent, use Energy ball," Ash commanded Lampent, who launched its attack at Vaporeon fast as it connected with Vaporeon. "Now end this with Shadow ball Lampent," Ash commanded Lampent hitting Vaporeon before she could respond, knocking her out.

"Vaporeon is unable to battle Lampent wins," The ref announced as the crowd cheered. "And that is the first Pokemon knocked out in the top fifty, ladies and gentlemen. Will Virgil make a comeback from this," The announcer said as Virgil returned to Vaporeon and remained calm.

"Not bad, Ash. But this is just the beginning, and this next Pokemon you know all too well? Umbreon, come on out," Virgil sent out the first Pokemon he ever owned who was ready to battle. "Use mean look," Virgil commanded his Pokemon before Ash could recall his Pokemon.

"Ugh, you aren't making this easy, Virgil," Ash said. "Calm and collective, Virgil. That is Virgil for you? He's been like that ever since I knew the guy more than our friends from Summer camp. But I won't let this get to me," Ash smiled. "Now use Energy ball Lampent," Ash commanded his Pokemon, who launched an attack towards Umbreon.

"Detect and then use Foul play Umbreon," Virgil commanded Umbreon as it dodged the attack and was covered in darkness and went straight at Litwick, striking him. "Now end this with Dark Pulse," Virgil commands his Eeveelution, who launches a stream of dark aura at Lampent, knocking it out.

"Lampent is unable to battle Umbreon wins," the announcer announced as the crowd cheered. "The match is now tied with both sides having one Pokemon left, so what is now left is what Pokemon will Ash use next?"

"Virgil, you are just as I remembered, always calm and collective, but I'm not going to give up either," Ash said with a smile, as did Virgil, who nodded at this. "Venepede, let's go," Ash sent out his last Pokemon for this battle.

"Interesting choice Ash but don't think that I didn't plan for a bug Pokemon," Virgil said to Ash, who nodded at this.

"Veneped, use Pin Missle," Ash commanded his Pokemon, who launched a flurry of Pins at Umbreon.

"Detect now, Umbreon," Virgil commanded his Pokemon, who barely dodged the attack as it clipped his leg after the move was used. "Ugh, what the even after the defect was done using," Virgil told Ash.

"If you think that Fraxure and Scraggy were the only ones trained by other Pokemon, you are mistaken, Virgil. Now use Sludge bomb," Ash commanded his Pokemon, who launched a Sludge at Umbreon.

"Use Psychic Umbreon," Virgil commanded his Pokemon, which caught Ash off guard as Venepede was captured within the move and was struggling from this. "Now use Dark Pulse," Virgil said as the attack hit Venepede, sending her to the ground. She was as stubborn as Ash. "She's as stubborn as you were as a kid, Ash. I'll give you that, but that isn't going to save you this battle. Use foul play," Virgil commands Umbreon, who charges into Venepede.

"Use Pin Missle Venepede, don't give up," Ash told her as Venepede launched a flurry of Pins at Umbreon, hitting it but wasn't doing much to slow him down. Venepede started to glow from this as Umbreon reached her, but the evolution sent him back as Venepede was now a Whirlipede and was determined to win.

"Not one but two evolutions in one battle. This is getting even more exciting, folks," The announcer said to the crowd. Ash was more surprised as he didn't think Muk and Heracross would push her to these limits but stayed focused.

"Now use Steamroller Whirlipede," Ash commanded her, who managed to hit Umbreon, sending him back. "Use Sludge Bomb Whirlipede," Ash commanded his Pokemon, who launched its move sending the attack at Umbreon.

"Use foul play," Virgil said as Umbreon dodged and charged toward Whirlipede.

"Now use Steamroller," Ash commanded Whirlipede as the two Pokemon moves clashed, and the two were sent back towards each of their trainers. The two Pokemon were exhausted as Whirlipede was about to keel over, but Umbreon fell and fainted.

"Umbreon, no," Virgil said as he was surprised that he lost.

"Umbreon is unable to battle Whirlipede. Wins moving on to the top 32 is Ash Ketchem," The announcer said as Ash hugged Whirlipede being careful of the quills.

"Great job Whirlipede. You did it," Ash said to Whirlipede, who had smiley eyes at this.

"Thank you, Ash, and I will do my best to get stronger for you and my father one day," Whirlipede said happily. Ash chuckled at this as he noticed Virgil walking towards Umbreon and petting his Eeveelution.

"Great job, Umbreon. You did great. Both you and your mate did. Now take a rest," Virgil returned his Pokemon, who nodded at him beforehand. Ash walked over to Virgil. "Well, Ash, excellent work you won today, but the next time we meet, things will be different," Virgil said while holding a hand for a handshake.

"That might be the league, Virgil, but you got it," Ash said to Virgil, returning the handshake. The crowd was cheering as Ash, and Virgil left for the Pokemon center, as the next battle would be in a half-hour.

After Ash and Virgil healed their Pokemon, Virgil handed the Eevee egg to Ash with Umbreon by his side. "I think that you deserve to have this egg, Ash. Don't you think Umbreon?" Virgil told Ash before asking Umbreon, who nodded at this.

"I've known you my entire life, Ash, and if there is one trainer I trust with my Eevee kit, it's you," Umbreon told Ash, who was taken aback by this.

"I understand why Umbreon wanted me to have it, but why did you though Virgil?" Ash asked Virgil, who smiled at this.

"After you left yesterday, Ash. Umbreon and I talked, and we felt like you are the one trainer who should have the egg, as Umbreon does have another kit at home," Virgil looked at Umbreon. "We figured that if we meet you again, Ash? That we would let you have one of his kits regardless of the outcome of our battles against each other," Virgil said as Ash was surprised by this.

"I see you trusted me as a friend for that, huh, Virgil? But if you want me to care for the little one, I will. You have my promise," Ash said happily, taking the Pokemon egg in his arms. The egg suddenly glowed as it reached Ash's arms. It was hatching. Ash, Virgil, and Umbreon are amazed by this as Virgil lets out Vaporeon for this. In Ash's hands was a young Eevee who looked up and saw Ash and was wagging its tail.

"Hello, little one, welcome to the world," Ash said to the Eevee, who smiled at this and nuzzled his chest as Ash put it down right after she finished nuzzling Ash to meet both parents. Which Eevee recognized, minus seeing Ash; they were there for it and treating it like parents would.

"I think that it is fair that Eevee would spend time with them during the competition since I will be staying until the tournament is over," Virgil suggested to Ash, who nodded at this.

"Yeah, it's wise not to take the little one away from its parents during this development time," Ash lets out Blitzle to check up on the little Eevee without ruining the time with its parents. "Blitzle was raised in daycare. She has experience with younglings," Ash told Virgil, who nodded at this, and Umbreon was OK with this as well as Vaporeon.

"The Eevee is in excellent health. You took care of it perfectly well, both the parents and trainer. It's female," Blitzle told Ash, who translated this to Virgil.

"Thanks, Blitzle, but she is now a member of your team after the tournament is over," Virgil told Blitzle, who nodded at this and let Eevee be.

"I'll prepare her Pokeball afterward. Just make sure that no one tries to catch her, please, you two, given that Virgil wants me to raise her," Ash asked Vaporeon and Umbreon, who nodded at this.

"Don't worry about it. Ash Umbreon has raised a few Eevees; some are on my team, so that you can trust him. Until then, let's make our way back," Virgil reassured Ash, who nodded as the group returned to the battle club tournament.

As the Tournament continues, Bianca barely wins her battle against Luke and will face Ash in the next round. Stephan, Cameron, Trip, and Misty made it to the next round. As Cillian had just won his battle, things moved on to the battle against Iris and Georgia.

"Hey, Iris. I'm sorry about yesterday. I just found out about your secret the day before this started. I just wished you told me that when we ran into each other before this Tournament started," Georgia apologized to Iris while maintaining her usual personality.

"I understand, and just because we have changed since we last saw each other doesn't mean we still can't be friends, not just rivals still," Iris told Georgia, who sighed.

"Who said that I was planning on ending our friendship, Iris? I am planning on keeping it. I want to see the fruits of the labor of your training in today's battle, so don't go easy on me, OK?" Georgia told Iris, who nodded at this.

"Will our last two competitors head to the battlefield, please," The announcer announced. Both Iris and Georgia two walked toward the trainer's boxes.

"Now for our last battle. First, you know her as one of the best Dragon-type specialists, both a wild child and the grandaughter of Drayden. Give it up for Iris," The announcer said as the crowd cheered as Iris arrived in the trainer's box.

"Next is the other contestant, now the second oldest trainer in the Tournament at sixteen. The next to run the Mahogany town gym and the claim to be Dragon Buster, the granddaughter of Pyrce himself, Georgia," the crowd cheered even louder as the two trainers stared each other down and ready to battle. "Now, will the two trainers let out your Pokemon, please.'"

"Dragonite, come on out," Iris sent out her Pokemon, who was indeed a Dragonite.

"Bisharp, come on out," Georgia also sent out her Pokemon.

Both titans were ready to battle, staring each other down as things heated up in this final battle.

The battle club's final battle of the top fifty is underway as best friends Iris and Georgia are now squaring off as the battle club continues.

Stay tuned.

Done. This chapter is going well, as I am on a writing streak. Before anyone asks, Georgia and Iris are the same age in this story, at sixteen in my version. Stephan is fifteen and will be sixteen soon. Ash and Virgil are the same age at fifteen; however, by the time the league happens, Ash will be sixteen. And Cameron is fourteen years of age. Given how protective his parents are of him, they made him do that. That out of the way, the Eevee is something that I wanted Ash to have for a long time, and before I get, "he got one in Johto" in the reviews. I had planned on Ash getting on before I wrote that story. Iris vs. Georgia is next. See you all next time.
